Master Splinter sat in silence, patiently waiting for his young student to find the right weapon. These things could take time or be as fast as going for the first thing they see. It's not like there was any wrong answer when looking for a weapon, as a good warrior or ninja would strive to master all guns.
The old rat closed his eyes, meditating as he listened to the faint sounds of the sewers, the distant rustling of rats moving about, and the faint rumble of the city above. He was at peace with the world around him, which was good.
His eyes opened again as Renegade returned, watching as he adjusted the grip on his newfound weapons. "Yes, the tonfa. They are effective offensive and defensive weapons, frequently overlooked but dangerous in the hands of a master. It is great at defence but can change to offence extremely quickly. It can block a blow and strike before the enemy can recover from the attack."

He would never say anything, but the tonfa had always been one of Master Splinter's favourite weapons. It was perfect for defence and had less risk of accidentally killing someone with it.
