Despite having no part of him transformed, Atsushi could feel the hairs on the back of his neck standup at the mention of Nocturne. "Eheh, heh, yea I think I might break if I spent more outside of class time with him as well. Knew going in having him co-train me would be traumatizing on some level yet here we are. heh..." His mind started to trek back into the darkness but, something did finally catch his attention as his eyes landed on his cleaned plate. He picked it up and looked right at Serena "Oh, the food was nice... seasoning was, mmmh, I mean I'm sure others like it but it's not to my taste."

"I'll take that into consideration. I've been tailoring my spice choices to my and Lauren's tastes primarily" Serena said "good to learn how to ease up on that in case I ever cook for others... not super likely but not impossible. I mean if you asked me a year ago if I was going to become a singer I'd have said you were crazy, and here I am gearing up to release my first single"
Serena paused realizing this was probably news to both people present to varying degrees. Lauren knew she was getting into singing as a side thing to her hero career, but the news that she was about to drop her debut single was still news to her. Atsushi didn't even know she could sing.
"Oh right, uh, surprise. The track is still being edited by a friend, but the song is written and the vocals recorded. She's just gotta put the instruments in and fine tune it to make sure it's all synced up" Serena said "I'm a bit nervous, I've been told I've got a good voice and all, but even so."

"Really? He was THAT bad on ya, huh? Well Atsu-boy, hate to break it to ya, but you'll probably see a lot of him once you get to your third year, heh. Even if you're not in the B-class like me, he'll probably pop up more often than you'd think. He has a knack for that, y'know, what with his shadow-quirk."
Lauren half-teases and half-warns Atsushi, but that playful wolfish grin on her muzzle would only serve to play it up more as joking with him, so one could never be too sure when it came to the 'playfulness' of a wolf. But then the news of the single broke out into the open, and both her ears perked up wildly as she'd stare at Serena, before that same grin spread open her maw again, and she'd 'attack' Serena with an extra tight hug and nuzzling into her cheek.
"Oh babe, that's great news~! Now I know why you kept saying you had 'big things' going on, and here I thought you just had tons of homework from King or something! And I totally fell for it! You sneaky lil' bastard~"
She'd playfully 'boop' Serena's nose once she called her 'sneaky', and was just wagging her tail wildly now that the surprise was out in the open. But, once more, she'd swivel her attention to Atsushi.
"So you said Noc trained you personally, huh? Well, hope this ain't too early to ask, but have you considered sparring against one of your upperclassmen before? I sure wouldn't mind a bout with ya if you'd be up for it."

He had to sort out his thoughts about Lauren's questions for a bit. How much to share about the extra classes, the difficulty of it, if he can even call it 'training' or if he was just getting smacked around to learn his quirk better, so instead he thought he'd tease Serena a little first.
"Wow, that's, amazing." He was shockingly good at sounding honest for how little he's socialized between grade school and now. "I mean your singing quality I can't speak to since I haven't heard it yet but, to think something has you nervous. Imagine." He gave a smile to better indicate he was just having some fun. "Still, given it's in my side budget for the month, I'll be sure to grab a copy."
He finally returned to Lauren's inquiry, right as they were suggesting a little sparing match. Hmmm... "Well... I don't want to raise your hopes too much, was less real 'training', nothing to do with understanding their style. More it was Thunderclap and Nocturne taking turns bouncing me around a gym for a few hours every day they were free to do so for least half the year. It's, kinda complicated but I've had, troubles with my quirk, in the past. Was behind even before I got here to UA... But, if you want a spar, I'd be honored to be put through the ringer on more even footing, senpai."

Serena laughed at Atsushi's joke about her being nervous "oh hush I get nervous all the time... I just bury the nerves under being headstrong and punching the problems away" she laughed, then Atsushi offered to buy her new song
"I'm not doing this for money, I'll just give you a copy." Serena said "like money is nice and all, I grew up without it so I can't exactly say I wouldn't mind having some more disposable income... but I'm not making these songs for that purpose. I just wanna write songs to express myself and/or inspire others. This first song of mine is definitely more the latter... If I happen to become well known for my music and make good money that's well and good, but for now I'm not charging people for it."
Serena chuckled at the suggestion of Lauren and Atsushi sparring "leave it to the cat transformer and wolf person to wanna fight" she teased "should be fun to watch though."
A notification beeped on Serena's phone not long after that, glancing down at it she smiled "It's done! Damn she works fast!" she said "it's uploading to the internet right now."
