"Gah!"
Strive grit his teeth as the fish took a chunk out of his thigh. He reached out his hand, using his quirk to speed his shield back to him, grabbing it as the shadow monster lashed out again, and Mighty lunged in for another bite, threatening to take Jim apart piece by piece-
There was a microsecond of action, and Strive knee that's what he needed to use unless he wanted to be skewered like a a grilled eel, then eaten like one. He saw Mighty coming, and rushed forward. One hand grabbed Mighty's upper jaw, above the Razor teeth, while a foot came down on the fish's lower jaw. Strive then brought his free hand up, shield catching and defending against the lashing whips!
"You've bitten off more than you can chew, villain!"
Strive spoke through bloody, gritted teeth! He pushed the tendrils away, then brought his shield down in a swinging arc, trying to hold Mighty still and slam him hard in the side of the head!

Mayoi didn't flinch in the face of danger. His squeaky clean slick would slide him right out of the monster's claws with ease. He'd backpedal to try and evade but would leave with some cuts. This Thing was no joke, despite how it looked. He felt a bit more satisfied knowing he could at least put a gash in it. A few more and it'd go down, simple as that. The worst part was the same could be said about himself. Where did it even come from? It absorbed more impact than he was expecting, but there was enough information to know there was no person inside. That meant he didn't have to hold back. There had to be a trick to beating, there always was a trick to villains and how they fought. Only time would tell.
"Yo partner, you good?" Seemed they both braved an injury, still a smile remained on his face!

Mighty was excited, the meal laid out in front of them. They could smell the hero, taste more of that lovely flesh. in that moment that lapse of judgement they got careless and got caught in the trap. They would flail in the attempt to escape the heros grasp mumbling incoherently. They were trapped!
There was nothing more for them to do but receive that strike from strive, their little fishy body being flown across the street, slammed against the doors of a building, leaving him disoriented for a time.
Also, upset. They spoke words, and made jokes like mighty wasn't a living being too!
The adrenaline barely canceled out the effects of being slammed, the fish struggled to get their bearings but still attempted to do another dash, this time for speed!
"You hypocrites think youre better than everyone but you're not!"
They would scream out as they'd dash hoping to get him while distracted

The Aberration screeched in displeasure as it's prey slipped from its grasp. It was slippery! Why was it slippery? It growled and hissed as it's tendrils were blocked by the shield, this prey was difficult. But it needed to fight them because... because...
The Aberration cocked it's head as if confused for a moment, looking between Mighty, the two heroes, and the various screaming and fleeing civilians, as well as the ones it had already injured on it's way into this fight. It had needed to come here and fight, but why was that again? It couldn't remember... but it still seemed important. It's natural instincts pushed against the compulsion that seemed to be weakening by the moment, but it still couldn't quite shake the urge to attack these heroes... and that frustrated it.
With a screech is slammed it's arms on the ground as the mass of it's body writhed, redistributing from the torso into the tentacles, making them larger and stronger, and more numerous, the three it had started with turning to five, and each of them more powerful and faster than the three had been before.
The main body seemed weaker now though, the hole not having entirely closed and the torso's arms having reduced in mass significantly. It seemed the creature had a limited amount of mass to work with, but it could redistribute that mass however it pleased. That was probably why it hadn't much cared about being stabbed, the mass had just been moved elsewhere, Mayoi had probably destroyed some of its material though, considering it had still reacted with pain. In that case, it was just a matter of wearing it down ideally with attacks it couldn't just morph the mass away from... but that would be easier said than done as it launched into its next attack
Two sickle like tentacles slashed at Mayoi from different directions, trying to cut off his means of evasion and slice him up. Two more would lash out at Strive, one was spear like, aiming to force Strive to block with his shield from one direction, while the other sickle like one tried to wrap around from another side and take out the already injured leg to immobilize him.
More concerning than both of these attacks though was that the monster's attention seemed less focused on them now, as the fifth tentacle formed into a clawed hand and reached out to grab one of the injured civilians and bring it towards the creature's mouth. If the heroes focused of defending themselves and didn't intervene, the monster would take a large bite out of the civilian that would almost certainly condemn them to bleeding out before they could receive treatment.

There was no chance. Tentacles thrust and slashed towards Strive, but he only had one focus. To block it with his shield, or evade, or retaliate, would stop him from taking a lot of damage. Yet his eyes were honed solely on the woman that screamed helplessly in the claws of the beast. He could defend himself, but she would die. There was no chance to save himself, and her. No chance, and no choice. Strive locked his hands together, one on top and one below, fingers curled so they were gently pulling against the others. His arms moved; harshly left, then down, then right again. Speed would see this movement with recognition. He would see Strive's eyes too, eyes he had seen before. They were locked onto their target; not the villains, but the civilian that was seconds away from their demise. There was a blur of movement. The spear and the scythe vanished, torn apart by Strive's sudden, incredible burst of speed. One moment he was there, the next he was gone. The creature's arm vanished too, replaced by a splattering of matter. Strive had passed right through it, leaving an empty void where it had been before. On the other side, the Number One Hero came to a hard brake. He skidded for a moment, blood (his) and matter (the monster's) flying off of him, splattering to the floor and the wall of a building. The civilian was cradled in his arms, and as she looked up she saw a wide, beaming smile. Strive was looking down at her with a kind, calm look.
"Don't worry, miss. You're safe now. Why?"He let her down, turning back to the enemies at hand. He had wounds across his body, some deep and some bleeding freely, but it was as if he didn't even notice. Strive raised his shield, wiping blood from the corner of his mouth and clenching his fists in a fighting pose "Because I am here!"

"You hypocrites think youre better than everyone but you're not!" The fish was making its way toward him.
Speed scanned the battlefield, Strive took priority on the civilian, but it didn't mean he was out of the woods yet. This little piranha attacker was persistent, but Speed wouldn't back down. "Scum will remain scum. If you wanted to be better, you wouldn't be a measly villain!" Mayoi sneered, initiating a slide for his fishy foe to follow. These tentacles would be treated like jump ropes as Mayoi whipped his body passed them, but made sure to stay close to them. He'd could bypass them with a few bloody scars, what would become of the Might Tiny opponent behind him? A smaller target meant these slices would be pretty big on Mighty's little body if they landed. Mayoi didn't care if the villains tore each other apart, as long as Benji and the civillain were good.

Those words triggered mighty. What did he know?!? What did those damn heros know! They were never forced into this position just because they looked different!
Mighty was enraged! They would chase after Speed with gusto, doing their best to avoid the tentacles but they would still hit. They were chomping like crazy, egging for just one good bite. The world around them went black, the wounds were extensive and the fishy body went numb. They didn't even know when they blacked, if they managed to attack the hero, or if they didn't. All would be seen from the outside is an enraged fish getting more juice behind their attacks before they eventually fell out on the ground.

The monster blinked several times... what... had just happened? It had been about to chow down on some tasty meat, and it's tentacles were striking out at the heroes. That had been just a few seconds ago, now... It stared down at where it's arm used to be, then where the tentacles used to be, processing as it looked to see where the hero and its meal were now. The gears in it's mind smoked as it tried to connect everything together, but it was getting hard to think at all with how damaged it was.
It's body tried to recover, shrinking down further as it repurposed it's mass. What had once been a towering monstrosity was now around the size of a regular human, while a new arm and tentacles reformed, the threat it posed had gone from something that could massacre a crowd of people in seconds to something that might still be a threat to individual civilians, but it was hardly the terrifying threat it once was. It still needed to be dealt with though, those claws might not have been large enough to cleave through multiple people anymore, but it could still maul someone.
The monstrosity dropped to all fours as it's sickle tentacles writhed, it didn't understand how it'd taken so much damage so fast, but these foes were too much. There was easier prey elsewhere, it would hunt that instead. With a growl it turned and sprinted down the street to make its escape, faster than ever before due to it's reduced mass. The last vestiges of it's orders to assist Mighty and fight the heroes informed the direction it ran but little more.
If the heroes pursued it, Mighty would be bought time to recover and slink away to avoid capture, but if they stayed behind to arrest the fish, it would get away for sure, and someone was bound to be killed before other heroes could catch it. It would make it's way towards a manhole cover, the tentacles lashing out to cleave the metal in two as it would dive to get underground and try to lose the heroes in the sewers and darkness.

Strive lowered his shield as the beast retreated, a puzzled look on his face. It wasn't like he could pursue, not after shifting all the way to top gear to save the civilian. To be honest, if the monster had attacked, he would have been in trouble, so he let out a sigh of relief. Not for his own safety, but for that of the civilian behind him.
"Speed! Send word to your agency... that monster needs to be found. It was strong... if it had stood its ground, it would have been trouble. I can't help but think it was more than it let on..."
He shook his head, then coughed suddenly. Blood splattered on his chin, and he wiped it with a frown.
"Looks like he got me worse than I thought."

Vision blurred, Speed spun to cuff Mighty's feet together. He was coherent enough to do that at least. The fucker was fast, but the monster- THE MONSTER! Getting back up, wobbly as could be, the hero geared himself with liquid hardening around his fists, but the monster began to flee. He pitched his foot to begin a sprint but quickly fell to one knee. The cuts may have been small, but gathering so many in a short amount of time had caused a strong amount of blood loss. He huffed, trying to gather himself. The call of his teammate sounded distorted. Speed looked to Strive, visioning darkening. What had he said? Oh right!... -calling this in. Into his earpiece, "We need eyes out for a shadowy monster running through the sewers. If it's toward the city center have the sidekick surround it until Tigre or Panda can finish it off. It looked like it was on it's last legs." Panting at this point, he continued. "And paramedics needs to be brought to the scene." He turned back toward Mighty, who was also injured. Just because they were a villain didn't mean they needed to bleed out and die. As for himself... His eyes closed. It would be okay to rest right? Eyes open, he peered to Strive. He'd already used top gear... Eyes closed, they fought hard. Resting wouldn't be the end of the wor- He stood up before pinching at his binding caution tape and wrapping his wounds tight. Passing out here would solve absolutely nothing. His spiked hair grew a bit limp as he inhaled deep. Determination greater than his waning body, the hero's expression grew into a focus glare as he walked to the nearest manhole cover. A strong kick would flick the cover into his hand right hand, while the left cracked upon a water capsule to drink from. Back into his earpiece, he "Actually, send my coordinates to the team... I can still slide. Bastard thinks he's faster than me. We'll just herd him into the others. " He passed an exhausted look to Strive before leaping into the manhole and vanishing into the sewers in hot pursuit. _________________________ The monster was never found that night.

Somewhere far away from the scene of the crime, Kurin watched footage from the fight between his monster and the top two heroes. The news downplayed the chaos of course, but between official coverage, and various uploaded videos from civilians present, he got a good grasp of how the fight played out. The heroes spent a lot of time searching for his Abberation, but there was no risk of them hunting it down, based on the timeline of events, he was pretty sure the thing had run out of juice and died not long after fleeing the battle. That didn't matter though, what mattered was its performance... it had severely wounded the number one hero even while fighting him and his teammate at the same time.
Kurin turned off the screen, sitting in a dark room as he laid back in his seat. If the top two hero in the country struggled that much against an Abberation class creation... and that wasn't even the most dangerous thing he could make... what would happen if he made more than one? Or made one of hit Nightmare class monsters? They wouldn't stand a chance
"If that's the best they can do... there really isn't anyone in this country who can stop me huh..." Kurin said, his voice wavering as shadowy mass began to form around his hands, only to be willed back and disperse. "They're all helpless... I can destroy them all... haha... that's..."
Kurin shook his head as his voice choked up, why was he feeling depressed over this? This was good! This was great! Even the top heroes couldn't stand up to him, he'd be able to destroy everything! He'd get his revenge on this damnable country that tormented him. He'd be the monster they'd all painted him as and they'd get what they deserved! This is what he wanted! It was! So why. couldn't. he. stop. CRYING?
Kurin laughed maniacally in his secluded hideaway... and in the darkness nobody could see the tears streaming down his face.
