Nocturne scoffed with folded arms. These runts wanted everything spoon-fed to them. Maybe this was why he chose to teach the seniors. They had a lot more self direction... these freshman were just learning to walk without tripping over their capes. Koito took onto his own thoughts but more because he took Nocturnes words at face value. That was a start... for better or for worse. Koito's eyes pulled between the two girls, mocking Nocturne's voice toward the end with a furrowed brow. "Well, I mean he literally just gave us one. We don't think before we act. That's why we're all in detention." The dusk hero narrowed his eyes at the boy for parroting his words.
"It's much more than that, but yes that's one of them. " From what he could tell they each took things on as naturally as they could. For each of them, combat would never be an issue. It was likely their biggest advantage AND flaw. In fact, being so good at these things from the beginning only meant, their hurdles would be that much harder to overcome over time. In order to advance with great effort, they'd have to fail with great effort and learn from mistakes with great effort. "These things are so simple," with one finger up. "There's three of you here. How about try looking at yourself, but from a different perspective? People experience everything differently, even if it's the exact same situation. In that case, it would be interesting for you each to go over each other's strengths and weaknesses. You don't know one another very well, but you should be able to pick a few things out."

Yoichi frowned as Nocturne spoke. Look at herself? A different perspective? True, she had only had her mother's up until now... but Yoichi wasn't sure she wanted to be scrutinized under a spotlight. Still, it might be good? She looked at Zenjia, a girl she didn't know well past today. A fiesty student from 1-B, she must be strong. So what was her weakness? Perhaps Koito knew better. Speaking of...
She looked at her self-determined rival with a fierce gaze. Fixing him with a stare that would cut through concrete, Yoichi waved an irritated hand at him.
"You! Your quirk is crazy strong, but it makes you cocky. You're way too laid back! If you focused and didn't take everything lightly, then you'd be unstoppable. Stop taking everything like it's a joke! Then maybe you could be... Number Two!"
Yoichi felt herself warm, turning away at that point before they could see her blush.
"Plus, you're always overusing your quirk. How are you supposed to save people if you're flying all over the place, spewing vomit?"

Zenjia rolled her eyes at Koitos mocking. He... Had a point, but she wasn't about to admit that. She did, however smile at nocturnes words. She just met Yoichi and she could already tell what kind of person she was based off how she acted so far. She laughed at her assertion of Koito being to relaxed and easy going.
"And you're far to serious. You only see the most obvious and immediate solution but that isn't always the most effective. Like the pool, you could have been much more faster and effective if you just simply swept the debris away"
She dug into Yoichi, but then she turned her gaze onto Koito. He wasn't exempt from her choice words.
"she does have a point about you too, though. You could think things through more often, you sprayed the water into the pool allowing the mucky grime to fill. If you stopped and paid attention, you would have seen the mess you were making..... You are brave, and valiant though.. unafraid of danger, willing to face it head on and you aren't beyond sacrificing yourself for others if needed... I guess"
She stated the last part nonchalantly, and with a slight shrug
"you also lack awareness of what's going on around you at times, which can affect you severely."
She noted, giving a final humph, letting her hands rest on her hips as if she had a victory

Koito leaned back not expecting Yoichi to just dive right in. Did she ever take a chill pill? GOD... He'd scratched the back of his head. Was he not unstoppable already? He looked to Nocturne who'd nod. Drat... He hated when Yoichi was right! Koit winced. She went pretty hard. Before he could get a word in edgewise, Zenjia perked up to say her piece. Well ladies first. He wasn't a gentleman by any means, but the situation forced his hand. At least Zenjia would give Yoichi a mouthful, but he'd get one too. It was nice to hear a few compliments mixed in, but they didn't quite hit the same since they were directly after constructive criticism.
"Geez... thanks... I guess?" He tilted his head. He didn't get the point of ragging on one another. It was supposed to be constructive, so what was he to say. He saw them both in action... Well.
"Mmmmm to be honest, I think you need to do what Zenjia does. She observes really well, and she can make decisions based on what she sees. I guess... ugh patience? You need patience to be an archer, right? That means that should be your strong suit, but you let your temper win at any given moment. I might not be the smartest guy but at least I am well within my strong suits. You're not even at ground zero yet... and that's why I keep calling you number 2. That's what makes you scary though. You're a good shot, and smart, but you can't even stick to what you're supposed to be good at." Pointing to Yoichi. It was simple answer, but bore a lot of weight. As simple as Koito was, having an easy explanation also meant it wouldn't hold back any punches. He'd to the same for Zenjiia. "Weirdly enough I think your strong suit is your weakness. You let outside stuff affect your judgment too much. I think you've gotta trust your gut more. Overthinking takes too much time, and means you're not confident in your first choice, something Yoichi has in spades. Yeaaah... confidence. You gotta be more instinctive and confident. You've got a lot of versatility with you quirk, and strong ideas for ranged attacks, but I guess that's what makes it overwhelming. Simple works best in my opinion." Of course, it would..., it was his route.
Nocturne would raise his hand. "And with all that being said, you each succeed in what you've pointed out for another to be weak in. Koito could stand to get serious from Yoichi. Yoichi could stand to take a step back like Zenjia. And lastly Zenjia could learn to trust her instincts like Koito. IF you all aren't opposed to it. I suggest you get close enough to learn from your neighbor. Not now of course, this is detention, BUT overcoming such things will make you infinitely stronger, even if it isn't physical training." He'd look at the pool. Good enough. They just need to grab the chairs and set everything out, and then fill it up with clean water. "Now... get back to work."

Patience? Yoichi withdrew after the verbal stripping down, but her mind was ticking away. Patience. She was about to react by snapping or giving a haughty retort, but that's what her mother would do. She frowned as she worked on the pool, now taking her time to set up chairs and the sides.
Patience. Yoichi thought hard on their words, quiet ad as she went, finishing off the final parts of the pool away from the others. It wad the fact that Koito had been so... direct. She thought he hated her, but it sound like he was... disappointed, more than anything? Ground Zero... she had a long way to go, if that was the case.
Yoichi wiped her brow, looking at the finished product of her patience. It was certainly easier than following instinct. Perhaps Number One did have a point. Yoichi looked across at the boy, a frown on her face. Why were they trying to help her? Wasn't this a competition to get to the top?

Zenjia was taken aback by Koitos comments. Be more instinctive? Have more confidence? Clearly he didn't know her that well, her having just crossed her arms and rolled her eyes yet... A part of her knew he was being truthful to an extent. The thoughts weighed heavy on her mind as she went back to cleaning, looking over to koito and then to Yoichi.
She watched as the two of them returned to work. She wasn't sure she wanted to be more like Yoichi. She had such simple solutions to everything but then so did koito.
She sighed, as she continued to push out the remaining debris, sweeping it onto a dust pan and into a trash bag. It was all she needed to do. A simple solution to finish off the job. Maybe koito wasn't too far off.
She would haul her bag out, jumping on one of the pool side ladders. She would watch as the other two finished up, putting their own trash into their own bags but before they could start making their way out the pool, she had started to turn on the hose and fill the pool up, occasionally spraying the two of them with water
"Last one out is a squeaky clean rotten egg!"
She would yell out to the two of them

Koito laughed when he got sprayed, being sure to redirect most of it to Yoichi. He ran toward the pool's wall and jumped right out with an impressive leap. The area was coming together nicely. If Zenjia was going to fill the pool, he'd grabbed the net and float overhead to nab any bugs, or leftover debris. Nocturne grumbled. If only every day could be as nice and peaceful as this one. Sure he had them doing some chores, but they were good kids at heart. That much was clear as day. Upon further inspection, one could catch a rather relaxed smile on Nocturne's face as he sat under the protection of the umbrella. It was a hot one, wasn't it? Welllll...
"I'm in a good mood." He'd say. "We can call it once the pool area is all finished. As promised, you kids can go for a swim..."
"Oh so you're a good guy after all." Koito buzzed with a chipper laugh. "Does this mean detention is over?"
Begrudgingly the dusk hero would nod. The teacher would take the chance to rub it in as well- "Though, I'll be seeing you 3 all week. So one short day doesn't matter much."
Koito was already well invested in talking to the other two students. Yoichi had spent the whole day with him already, so he'd point the question to Zenjia first. "SO, was this place everything you hoped for?"

Yoichi growled her complaints as water was sprayed at her, but she dutifully finished her tasks. She made sure to be thoughtful about it, taking time to watch her movements. Eventually she easily climbed out of the pool, observing their work. Yoichi allowed a small smile to cross her face.
Yoichi let out a small sigh, glancing across at the other two as they chatted away. Tch. Friends. They were dead weights on her advancement. Koito was strong, but he spent too much time trying to get everyone else to like him. Why bother, when he wanted to be Number One? That kind of behaviour wouldn't take you to the top.

Zenjia continued to clean the pool area up as it was filling up with water, a bit more pep in her step as it was noted that once the pool area was all cleaned up, they would be able to go for a swim. a smile came across her face as she observed her work, and the work of her fellow classmates, head turning as Koito asked a question
"Hmm? not sure... I was kinda hoping there would be less book work and more... practical stuff if you catch my drift. I can't beleive how much work we have just after the first day of school but... hopefully we'll get more field practice"
She would note, as she sat at the edge of the pool leaning back slightly before suddenly jumping up
"but what are we all waiting for? lets go get changed into our swim suits! last one back is a big fat LOOSER"
she would claim as she zipped off to the changing rooms, raring to get into her swimsuit and take a dip into the pool

Koito thought to himself. Well, there had to have been more to come, it was only the first day... Hell, the entrance exam had plenty of action, and they'd both already face that spiked villain. His eyes wandered to Yoichi... From what he gathered from class, she was the sheltered type. Was she going to be progressing okay at the rate she was going? He saw her as a rival because of their interactions, but he wasn't sure she could be number one by never putting herself out there. Koito knew above all else, a number one hero had to be well received. Even if he fell on his face, he wanted to always try and make good connections. His eyes peered to Zenjia who seemed much more apt for aiming for something like that, then to Nocturne. He never really was the spot light kind of hero, but he was in the top 10 for a very long time. Perhaps Yoichi would develop into a hero like him? He shook his head...
Why was he thinking so hard? He wanted to blame Nocturne, but perhaps it was because he was finally around people with the same goals. Everyone hero department student had lofty dreams and goals. He was able to reengage with the conversation when Zenjia proclaimed the commencement of fun. "Ah, but the best are ALWAYS prepared." He jumped high into the air, and blast toward the boys locker room. He'd already set his swim trunks out with some waterproof sunblock. He'd be back in a jiffy, floating right above that beautifully clean pool. With no effort at all, he'd dive right in! Honestly, they did such a good job! Nocturne would just kick his feet up and relax under the umbrella. For the timebeing, the hero would just enjoy the moment, knowing he had plenty to do around 7. "I can't be here all day, but I'll give you an hour and a half for you guys to have some fun."

Fun. Yoichi had taken a seat by the side of the pool, scowling ferociously. What even was fun about getting wet? Splashing about like... her mother had scolded her so many times for playing in the bath. Child! They were supposed to be heroes... she looked on at Zenjia and Koito messing around, feeling a pain in her chest. Why did they get to let loose? Where was there commanding mother? She looked towards Nocturne, back at the other two. She huffed, rose, and made her exit.
A few minutes later, Yoichi returned in her swimsuit. She looked embarrassed, but determination filled her eyes. Slowly she made her way to the opposite end of the pool to the other two, dipping a toe into the water. It did look inviting... Yoichi looked around, as if worried someone was going to say something, then sat on the edge of the poolside, legs dangling in, before slipping her whole body under the waves.
She rose, hair fanning out in a great wet mass. Well, it had already got wet. She stayed half concealed, her eyes and nose poking out as she watched with a piercing gaze towards Zenjia and Koito. Fun... what even was fun?

He got there before her. Of course he did. She would scoff playfully, barely able to make some head way into the girl's locker room when he came back and roll her eyes at him
"Show off"
She would say when she finally made it back, jumping into the pool doing a little flip into it. The feel of the water was great! As far as detention went, this was amazing! Splashing around like this was fun.... this school is simply the best
