The little cube arced in the air, string blowing behind it as it reached the top of its arc and began its descent to smack into the indistinct figure. A second ticked by. Nothing. Another second. More nothing. Then a low grumble echoed from the room, whatever it had hit had recovered from its surprise and was preparing to respond. That was when the cube exploded, leaving remains that solidified into a cloud of ice dust, the grumble from the creature turning into a roar of pain as it stumbled out from the cloud through several of the stalagmite to reveal... whatever it was. It looked like it was made of rocks, but they all flowed over each other in a vaguely humanoid shape. "A golem!" Sophie exclaimed. "Leave it to me, draw it's attention.!" **************************** Crow patted himself down, before fishing out a small coin. Printed on it was the number 50, and the sight of it made him smile wryly. "Here" he said, tossing it to her. "I'll be expecting interest if you hold onto it." The other girl approached, her bow lowered but ready. "We'll have to be careful, we all seem to be fairly adept at range" she said, eyeing their weapons. "But nothing for upfront. Feire. My name. Feire."

July's attention was fixed on the ice cube thing, bumbling through the air before settling upon the object in question. July did not have the first guess as to what it could possibly be. This was not what July expected for a lesson in Big School. It was exciting! It became even more exciting when the alchemy exploded! And then the object that the alchemy exploded on started to move! The Argonian's expression was gleeful, jubilant, even, as the creature rose to meet them. July's neck burned hot. He gripped his spear, holding it ready. It was time for battle!
It was time for distraction! July approached the golem at an angle, in the opposite direction of wherever Sophie was going. He made a few jabbing motions with the spear, testing the creature's reactions. "Hyah! Here! Here! Follow July!" July was confident that his weapon would not be effective. Sophie-friend's alchemy, however...

Nudge snorted at Crow's comment. She was no petty thief! The coin glinted in the torchlight as she placed it onto her fingers, and readied herself. Nudge flipped it, watching the disk spin through the air, and lashed out to grab hold as it fell. Slapping it down on the back of her hand, she glanced at the other two for a brief, hesitant moment. She hated luck. hated random chance. It hinted at chaos, and turmoil. Still... she lifted her hand.
"Heads. We go right. Now... heads for green, tails for blue."
Nudge flipped the next coin, and it came up tails. She tossed it back to Crow, gripping her bow and nodding towards the other two.
"Okay, we have our direction. Blue door it is! Feire, and..."
Nudge narrowed her eyes at the boy.
"...so-far not introduced extra body in the room. Are you ready?"

For a creature that didn't seem to possess any ears the golem seemed very focused on noises. When Sophie yelled to July to draw it's attention it turned towards the young woman, fist already beginning to raise above its head. It only stopped when July called out in return, turning its head and bringing its gaze down on the Argonian. The jabs of his spear were doing nothing, but the dull clang of metal meeting rock caused the Golem to fully take its attention away from the alchemist and instead bring the rocky fist down at July in an attempt to flatten the lizard.

"Right, right, you weren't at the little meet and greet were you?" Crow muttered, before straightening and giving his best smirk. "Crow Armbrust, at your service" he spun the two firearms in his hands as he spoke. "Let's say we get to work and get outta here."
Feire next to him sighed in exasperation, before nodding in agreement, nocking an arrow and moving in front of the door. She was ready to fire through it the moment it was opened, if needed.

July was not a simpleton. July knew that metal was not so good against rock. In fact, metal was terrible against rock. July did not believe himself of overcoming this simple rule of battle. Fortunately, July was not engaging in combat. The Argonian stood his ground for a moment, watching this massive man-thing of stone come upon him, perhaps a little longer than was prudent. July spun like a top, and dove with his full body away from the golem... mostly. Since July was wearing Big School uniform, he could afford to leap this quickly. The issue was how powerful the strike from the golem was. It sent July sprawling, more than July had bargained for. He was thoroughly winded, not to mention that July's legs felt for the moment like jelly.
July packed in his chest, nearly heaving. July needed to get up! This was mock, but this was deadly mock! The Argonian brought himself to one knee, then two, then straightened himself to a beleaguered standing position. July looked about with a harried expression. Where was alchemist-friend? July could not do this alone!

Nudge looked at the other two, then sighed, her shoulders slumping. She tucked her bow away back over one shoulder, patting down her outfit before puffing out her chest in mock bravery.
"Right, well I guess I'm the one opening up the potentially dangerous door to the unknown. Alright... be prepared to save my butt if something tries to grab me."
Nudge grasped the door, and swung it open with all her strength, holding her breath. They probably wouldn't put an enemy right behind the first hurdle to surprise them... would they?
