She was last so she expected not many to notice her. That was just dandy! She didn't need to move much so she was fine sitting where she was at when the years were told to line up. There were alot of animals in here and the macaw seemed fun. "It's a regular zoo in here." she casually remarked. Should she stand up now? Nah, it was fine. Unless told otherwise, Hihoshi sat comfortably with her tail flicking lazily behind her. Her thick brows raised up affectionately and had a blissful look to her face with eyes closed. "Mmmm surrounded by nature...sure is a nice feeling."
The feeling of soil beneath her and the smell of freshly tended grass and rock. It was like being back home outside doing work. Vixen sure could pick the training grounds, couldn't she? She could pass out from relaxation here but a stirring of the voices from the other students reminded her this was going to be a training exercise of some kind. She thoughtfully murmured with eyes still closed, looking up. Whatever was going to happen next, she'd go with it.
As long as she could take a nice long nap somewhere in here later on, she'd be up for any hard work.

Once they were all settled in, Vixen cleared her throat while Venti nudged Hal's hand then the macaw took flight then perched atop one of the rockfaces near the entrance. "Welcome, all you progressive shounens and shojos, to MY personalized class of Tactical Instincts 101. With us are some students about to graduate and readying themselves for the hero sekai, some who've gotten themselves experience and looking ahead to the mirai, and some who are fresh-faced and looking to prove themselves against their senpai!" with each category, she looked to the third, second, then first years in order while speaking in a jubilant, excited tone of voice tinged with her southern accent. "In the sekai, there is no subarashi instinct than what animals were born with. Animals instinctively know several things and how to react to outside stimuli. This includes us humans as well. Though animals are built different than us and are more suited to the environs in which they reside. As such, their reactions tend to be more embedded in their genetic makeup and are hayai to react." Her tails finally revealed themselves; her signature Quirk she was known for throughout the hero world. One of them manifested and transformed into an octopus tentacle that shot out toward the rockface. Venti reacted accordingly with a squawk and flying away at high speed to the safety of a tree while the tentacle crashed into the rockface, making an impact. "Too slow! Venti's fast! Try again?" the bird chirped curiously, tilting its head from its new perch. Vixen chuckled as her tail resumed its original shape and returned to her. "Venti's instincts told him to fly away to avoid injury. Animals have different forms of instinct to help them survive in the wide sekai. Ones that tell them to fight. Ones that tell them to flee. Ones that help them survive. Sometimes it's best to rely on these instincts. Very rarely do you ever want to go against them. Students here are no different. Your senpai have honed their instincts though it's always good to brush up on them when you are wakaranai. So, with that being said, you will be divided into 3 groups with at least a mix of first years and at least one of your senpai here. "Venti lightly squawked "Here it comes. Time for fun."She held up two fingers....with gorilla arms that manifested from her tails that hung off to her right ahead of her. "Two groups will include 3 of you. In these groups you indicate among you who will be what between Flighter, Fighter, and Leader. Flighters are given a band they must defend at all costs as that band represents their "life". If their band gets removed in any way, they're out. If you lose your Flighter, then your remaining Fighter will be given a band that can also be taken but can only be taken if another Fighter gets you with their tags. Fighters will be given waterproof adhesive tags they can attach to others. These represent injuries. If you have five of these total on you, you are out. Fighters cannot use these on fellow teammates. if used on Flighters in this manner, they must give up their life band. Leaders MUST guide their two teammates and remain in close proximity to one or the other at all times. Leaders must be tagged 10 times for them to be out but will have no band to give up. Instead, if a Leader is out, the remaining teammates become Flighters AND Fighters on the team cannot tag anyone anymore and must give up their band if tagged enough or if the band is taken, same as before."She took a breath then held up four fingers with a grin. "The remaining group of four gets a choice. They MUST have a Leader. But can decide if they want two Fighters or two Flighters. The remaining one has to be the opposite. In this team, the Leader is given a limited amount of tags they can use and cannot tag anyone more than once. But here's a tanoshi twist; if they tag ANOTHER Leader...that Leader is out regardless of how many tags they have on them.""Finally, the exercise ends when there are either no more Leaders or every person on two teams that aren't Leaders are all out. During the end, there will be a result on the most effective Flighter, Fighter, and Leader. These will gain a lovely dinner treated by yours truly. However, this does NOT mean the aforementioned roles will be the winners. I am looking forward to a clean, tanoshi game here, miina! I don't want to see anyone intentionally trying to harm another classmate or I will be zannendatta and angry. Use the tags to "injure" in your own creative ways! I will randomly assign the teams and give you what you all need to tag!"
She held out a few white bands, red sticky orbs, and a few larger bands with the symbols of Flighter, Fighter, and Leader on each. She then began to use her tails to point out people at random. The results were mixed with some being quite favorable to one another. She was pleasantly surprised to see some of results and grinned at what prospects would ensue because of it. She made sure the teams got together into their groups then handed out the gear accordingly. "Once you've decided your roles, you must then each enter a different part of the training grounds. Then come out hunting when the alert goes off. The alert will be Venti who will signal the start! If you have any questions, please ask now before you enter the grounds! Win or lose; there is something to be gained and learned here!"TeamsTeam One: Kitana, Sicily, Jack (Vixen may replace Jack due to circumstances) Team Two: Umi, Alain, Hihoshi, Faliwah
Team Three: Hal, Serena, Zenjia, Yann////////////////////////////////
Sicily listened intently and this seemed like a game more than an exercise but weren't all games exercises of some kind anyways? Whatever the case was, fate that decided she'd get to pair up with Kitana which brought both hope and anxiety to her heart. She'd get a chance to really show her stuff to her but that also meant she'd need to keep her safe and watch over her when she needed it. It had been clear from that explanation that she should take the role of Fighter from the outset. She could move fast enough to keep herself and her band safe but she was more offensively inclined than agile. Kitana was fast and seemed Flighter was her perfect fit. As much as she wanted to be, Jack felt the optimal choice for Leader in her eyes. he had experience and knowhow. "I'll be the Fighter." she suggested without hesitation. "I can probably tag multiple folk at once with my Quirk and keep our Flighter protected." she looked to Kitana with a strong, assured nod with those fearsome eyes of hers. She had assumed Kitana for the role but it was up to Kitana whether she wanted it or not.

"Y-Yeah! I'll meet you at the uh, the class with all the classes! Sounds like a thing!"
'Anything to get out of campus', he said to himself, and he did make it, not that such a thing was worthy of medals, even if his feet only got colder as the environment got warmer. Yann still had a bit of a self-confidence problem, he'd get results and he would feel proud of them, but this pride was a bit too short lived for him to propel it to the next challenge, whatever it was. The environment suggested there was going to be some sort of head-to-head competition, Yann was already spooked by the feats of his first-year classmates, let alone whatever the experienced sophomores might be able to muster. Fortunately, it wasn't difficult for him to make himself unnoticed, just...don't do anything, people don't look down. Even in uniform, the beige of his fur blended well with the soil.
Regardless, Yann paid attention to the professor's assignment, he was here already, even if the class is optional. While he struggled a bit with the nuances due to her odd cadence with words and her waxing poetic, she described something that was more of a contest than a full on brawl, rules of engagement that he could perhaps leverage. It was still going to be scary, but one step at a time right? He cleared the biggest one, he could clear this one as well, he could do it, of course, once the math started to be done, he realized that he should fix the whole 'low-profile' kind of thing.
"Um, professór", Yann first approached in a four-legged scamper, then stood up to hop with his hand raised. This probably redid the numbers a little bit, hopefully it wasn't too much of a hassle.

Umi glanced across (and down) at Zenjia as she muttered the question, watching Kitana and Sicily with intent. Did she know? Of course Umi knew... how good friends the two were! Before she could articulate her innocent ignorance to social cues into words, Vixen spoke up and hushed the students.
A game of tag? Umi had played something similar before with her siblings, but this time... she listened intently, frowning. The obvious choice, for herself, was fighter. She wasn't mobile, and Umi didn't feel confident in leading a group of others.
The groups were called, and Umi joined the others. Alain, an older boy who she recognised from a handful of villain encounters. He looked strong, and matched her height (though doubtful her weight). Faliwah was a third year, and Umi wondered what her quirk was. She looked nimble, the shortest member of their group by far. Hihoshi she knew from her class, but she wasn't yet aware of her quirk. It was something more than her donkey-like Appearance though. Umi looked between the others, and clenched her fist confidently.
"Okay! What should we do? I think being a fighter is the best choice for me. With my size, I can defend everyone!"

Everyone here was mingling, having a good time but not faliwah. She was watching, listening, feeling everything that was going on around her. Strategy going on in her head as vixen had them line up and talk about what was going on.
Much of the first years were wild cards, unsure on what each one could do but she took a note of the other seniors around too.
Jack, serena, Hal and Alain. All strong fighters. She knew the least of Serena and Hal however she did know serena held a rivalry with alain, maybe for similar reasons she and Shinja were rivals.
There was a fox, donkey, whale, (an overlooked bunny), snakes and one other for first years and it was abundantly clear that the fox was fast.
Soon enough, they were group up and she was in the one with four people in it. Looking at the composition, it was abundantly clear she was best suited for flighter the other three, being more physically quirked. Shes heard a bit about Alain and figured now would be a good as any time to test his mettle as a leader. As they got together though, she spared no time in taking charge.
"Ohaiyogozaimasu. My name is Faliwah and I am a third year. Based on an initial lookover on the three of you, and our competition, I am best suited as flighter which leaves leader to our other senior here, Alain-san. "
She paused for a moment as she gave alain an intense look which seemed to test him yet, also beleived in his credentials. Still, she wanted to observe it for herself.
"I assume you are both mutants and both are of one of predatory or retalitory nature. As such, the two of you seem best suited to being fighters. Still, i would like to familiarize with all of you so we can come up with the best strategy possible"
She looked over to umi who claimed the desire to be a fighter as well. She had a good spirit about her, which was good. Already she was getting positivr vibes from her group ----‐----------------------------------------------------------
They were soon shushed by the teacher, zenjia listening with intent. she soon realized that she was gonna be paired with serena and the topic of conversation from earlier quickly dropped from her mind. Zenjia could barely wait and had quickly ran towards Serena, giving her a massive hug before immediately regretting it. Still, it wouldnt dampen her energy
"hey! Were a team! Can i be fighter? Pleaaasseeeeeeee"
She would eagerly beg the older female complete with getting on her knees and putting her hands in a praying position

Well that was an interesting demonstration, and the game sounded fun. Hal's face grew thoughtful as they were split up into teams at the end, though it was the kind of thoughtful with a smile to it. Of course it wasn't evenly split teams, that wasn't possible with the number of students that showed up, but even more interesting is that it wasn't just two teams, it was three. This was going to be very chaotic. He pulled his notebook out again and consulted his notes on certain things. Namely, how he'd boost or try to deal with Serena and Alain. Sleeping gas and ice to slow or stop, rock or metal heated to near molten temperatures to boost Serena. He still hadn't figured out ways he could effectively boost Alain but that wasn't something he'd be wanting to do for this exercise, anyway. He added a couple more notes to these things before he glanced up to see the younger student accost Serena, and he sidled closer as well.
Before, hopefully, Serena could answer that pleading question, though after any immediate reaction to the unexpected hug (he breathed a sigh of relief it hadn't been HIM the girl had tried to do that to), Hal cleared his throat. "Zenjia?" he asked, just to confirm he had the right name. "Before we decide roles, I think we should all know what each other can do. I don't know how much you know about our quirks, but I don't know yours at all. Serena and I only know each other's quirks since we're classmates." He did glance at Yann briefly as well, but the assumption was that, well, his quirk was animal-based and not anything beyond what could immediately be guessed based on the guy's size and shape.

Serena's conversation with Alain would be cut short as Vixen launched into the explanation on the training exercise they were going to do. It seemed like a fun little game, not sure what she was going to learn about teaching people from it... but her competitive drive wouldn't let her back down now. Especially since she wasn't teamed up with Alain.
"Well guess we can chat more la..." Serena began to say to Alain, when suddenly someone was grabbing her from behind.
Instinct kicked in, reflexes formed by trauma guiding her hands as she instantly broke Zenjia's grasp on her and transitioned into a judo throw without even seeing who it was at first. No time to hesitate, if they get her she'll be killed! Or worse they'll send her back to him! She can't go back to that place, she WON'T! She...
Partway through the throw, Serena saw who it was, and reality crashed back down around her. She pulled Zenjia back to place her gently on the ground instead of throwing her away, and used her quirk to absorb the energy of the throw so Zenjia wouldn't be injured by being yanked back.
Zenjia would be able to see in Serena's eyes for a brief moment the fading panic, a glimpse of the damaged girl underneath the calm and collected senpai. Serena hid it again quickly. Over the past year she'd gotten much better at her trauma responses... and better at recovering from them when they happened. She was even in a place one might call healthy nowadays, but the damage done to her would probably never completely fade, much like her physical scars.
"Uh... sorry about that, it's a reflex." Serena said awkwardly "rule of thumb, don't grab me when I can't see it coming. Hugs are fine if I know it's you but... being grabbed from behind like that meant something much different for me once upon a time. So uh... please don't surprise me like that again. I can't promise I'll always realize it's you in time."
And like that the moment was gone completely, Serena refocusing on the task at hand, strategizing for the exercise.
"Right so quirks. Mine is energy absorption and release. I can pull in kinetic energy from anything I touch and then use it for myself, that's both heat and physical force. I can also do a little bit with electricity but I'm still learning the ins and outs of how my quirk works with that energy type, only figured out how to do it late last year so it's not a tool I can rely on to do much more than deliver a stun gun shock to someone." Serena said "I know three of our quirks, so unless... Yann was it? Has some sort of evasion thing beyond just being a rabbit, I'm probably best as a flighter"
Serena tied the "life" band around her head briefly to demonstrate as she yanked on it as hard as she could, and the band didn't budge
"my quirk can hold the band in place, nobody can steal it from me except for Alain most likely, he has enough brute force to overpower my quirk if he's at full power. As for not getting tagged... I can enhance my speed and also change directions with midair jumps using kinetic energy. If Hal provides me a heat source so I can stay charged up, catching me will be hard. Course that same speed and maneuverability makes me a good fighter too... but if there's one thing I'm experienced at it's running away." Serena explained, she wouldn't elaborate further on that comment though. "We get to have two fighters or two flighters though, so I could end up as either depending on what everyone else is."
------------
Kitana grinned as the teams and game were announced and she ended up with Sicily, what luck! And the team balance worked out.
"I'm with Sicily on her idea, I could probably be a fighter of a flighter with my quirk." Kitana said "I doubt many people could avoid getting tagged with my speed, but I can only use my speed in bursts so I'd be slower at tagging than Sicily with her many snakes. Flighter though, nobody's going to catch me when I can just zip away at a moments notice. So long as you keep the heat off me enough that I'm not forced to dash twice in succession I'll be just fine. If I DO have to dash twice though I'm going to need to be carried around until the nausea fades... oh also I can bring people with me when I dash, so I can assist Sicily in attacking evasive people if needed.
Kitana notably didn't volunteer herself as a leader. She wanted nothing to do with leadership after being groomed to be the figurehead of a religion... and she wasn't as experienced with this stuff as a third year would be so it worked out.
Looking at the sticky orbs they were given... Kitana got an idea for hero gear. She'd have to drop by the support department at some point and look into that, in the moment though
"If these orbs are the tags, and all we need to do is get them to stick to people... I actually have an alternative plan we can use potentially. I still think Sicily being the fighter is probably better, but best to lay out all options. I can throw things really fast with my quirk. A trick I picked up in the entrance exam actually. I could use my quirk to carry Sicily away from danger as needed, and then throw these sticky orbs at superspeed. I can throw things without the same restraint as my dashes cause I don't get the same nausea issues if I'm just accelerating my arm and an object. But I still think Sicily would be able to attack more people than I can since I'd still have to make sure I don't miss my throws.

Yann sat there for a moment as he was reassigned, trying to figure out what his team was and figuring it out by process of elimination, approaching Serena and Hal, raising his hand with a warm greeting before reeling back as he witnessed Serena fling someone over her shoulder, and over him. Yann very calmly stepped aside to give Zenjia some space as she was dragged back inwards by some sort of invisible force, presumably by Serena correcting her overreaction. "Ah, oyes, understandable, I get that. I'll uh let you know just in case", Yann missed the mark on being empathic, as he didn't tolerate hugs for a completely different reason, though admittedly not a less visceral one.
Yann lifted his ears to prop himself up as Hal addressed them for the game plan, and thus made direct eye contact with Hal as he was glossed over. He froze his smile, breathed deep, and exhaled calmly, sure, it was probably more important that the likely Emitter students had to do more explanations than he did. Serena explained her ability was something akin to redistributing energy, which she had demonstrated earlier, Yann was quick to straighten up and nod as Serena called him, he stayed strong and kept the smile as he was somewhat dismissed as unfit for the role, but his drooping ears betrayed the disappointment. "I-I do! Actually!". Yann rebutted, clenching his fists with enthusiasm. "It's hard to explain but, uh, I am proficient at, well, not being hurt. Like, soi-sixth sense like so", he still hadn't exactly rehearsed how to pitch his quirk to not out him as some sort of professional coward, but he was getting closer. "I might not win the sprint, but good at conserving energy, just one-tenth of a step ahead I'll be!", he hopped in place with a slight lean to each side.

Jack was thrilled with this challenge, as he was already bouncing on his heels back and forth with his body tensing every so often. An elaborate game of tag, eh? With team-work tactics to boot as well. And he was working with two first-years to boot, so he'd really have to prove to Vixen that he was her star pupil for a reason! With a two-finger salute and a gutsy grin towards his sensei, he'd turn to his assigned teammates, as he'd cross his arms over his puffed-out chest with a confident grin.
"Glad t'see ya takin' initiative right 'way, luv! I was gonna offer t'be the leader anyway, 'cause I feel I could absolutely guide either one or both of ya 'round with my quirk. It allows me t'manually control my adrenaline flow, lettin' me pump my muscles out to the max, make my skin hard as iron, or even overload m'nerves an' allow me to react to stuff 'round me way quicker than most! Tha' latter-most bit of my quirk is where I think I'd be useful as a leader, spottin' things approachin' you two an' warning ya ahead o' time!"
He seemed proud and confident enough in his idea of how his quirk could aid Sicily and Kitana, hearing both of them explain their quirks as well. He could easily tell how Sicily could tag multiple people at once, and how Kitana's speedy quirk could let her stay out of trouble, but he'd give Kitana a bit of a concerned, yet supportive smile.
"Aye, the whole zippin' and zoomin' around bit is somethin' I'm used to as well! I didn' skip leg day, if y'know what I mean, sheila! But jus' a pro tip from a third-year like meself; don' try an' over-perform a whole lot. I've had'ta spend a lot of times in the school infirmary in my past years fer overdoin' it with my quirk. An' if your quirk makes ya sick an' tired, then that could mean y'could pass out if you really overdo it, an' we don't want that. So jus' dash when y'really feel like there's no other way out, y'dig?"
