About a week had passed, which meant Zenjia had a lot of time to think about things. She's been meaning to thank Umi anyway, and from what she could tell, the girl had stuff figured out that she hasn't. People have been telling her the same thing, in different words but she still didn't want to believe that there weren't heros out there that were amazing and chased the fame all at the same time. It was fun, to have a chat so during class she had slipped Umi a note to meet her in the library after school was finished for the day.
So she had went to the library after classes were done. She couldn't remember the last time she had stepped foot in the library. reading wasn't really her thing but...she had try new things right? How did people even find books here anyway? She would be left to her thoughts until Umi arrived, if Umi arrived. she was nervous for some reason, it wasn't like her to feel so antsy waiting for someone.
She waited, but if she hadn't appeared after about 20 minutes she would get up and move, move elsewhere. Being in the library for too long made her anxious for some kind of action, how did people stay in such a quiet place for any period of time? It didn't even have ambient or background noises to help ground her into the moment.

Umi thought about the note a lot. She didn't know Zenjia well yet, but her classmate had been on her exam, and, well... Umi was worried. Had she offended the girl? She had scolded her in the exam for not considering other people, using her quirk in a way that put others in danger. Umi was now anxious Zenjia had taken it the wrong way.
With trepidation in her giant heart, Umi made her way to the library, dressed in her modified U.A. uniform that allowed her tail freedom to move around. She spotted her in the library, and hesitated. Come on Umi... be brave!
Swallowing hard, Umi stepped forward towards Zenjia.
"H-hey! I got your note... what do you want to speak to me about?"

Zenjia sat there, regulating her breathing wondering if her classmate was going to show up. She rehearsed in her head the thanks she was going to give the girl but it all sounded so silly and ridiculous. She tried writing it down too, but quickly threw it away. She was distracted and she wanted to scream but... She had to mind where she was.
When she arrived, it was obvious right away but, other than looking in her direction and smiling when she got closer, she didn't do much in greeting her until she was before her and asked her what's up
"thanks for coming "
She stated, clearing her throat before continuing
"I um, I wanted to thank you"
She stated. The girl was a gentle giant, she knew that much but her height made the situation seem more imposing. She knew it was irrational and out of her control but feelings were stupid irrational things
"Um, did you want a seat?"
She asked, getting up to pull one of the chairs out, leaving a space big enough for her to sit

Umi didn't know what to say, so she took a seat while she thought. Thanks? Umi felt like had been very harsh with Zenjia in the exams. She fiddled nervously, looking at the girl with a smile that suggested as such.
"I- well, I was going to try and apologise, actually. I was super mean! I thought- I shouldn't have got involved? You were just trying your best..."
Umi was flustered all of a sudden, struck with a cacophony of feelings that fought violently against one another.
"So. Um. Sorry! But - you're welcome? But - sorry! If I made you feel bad..."

Umi was cute, and watching her reaction to her apology helped to loosen Zenjia up some. It still wasn't easy to admit that she was wrong in her actions at the entrance exam. She wasn't used to humbling herself like this but... She also knew that this girl did her a favor by checking her the way she did
"it did, kinda but you're the reason I'm here I think. If in continued with my rhinos, I would not have been considered.... In fact, I'm pretty sure I would have been thrown in some kind of detention or put on probation... Or something "
She noted, awkwardly chuckling at the thought.
"my score was worse that what was posted so.... Yeeaaahhh... "
She noted, squeezing her hands together underneath the table looking away for the moment as she contemplated how she was going to go about asking for advice

Umi watched Zenjia with a mask of confusion. She had got in the way of the girl scoring more points! She had been harsh... but maybe it was what she needed, in the end? Umi slowly allowed a smile to spread on her face. She reached across the table, putting a hand on Zenjia's shoulders.
"Don't worry about it, 'kay? No matter what happened in the exam... we both got into the hero course, right? So that means we're both worthy of this!"
She clenched her other hand, a pump of victory as her ocean eyes stared softly across at the other girl.
"Every mistake is just a lesson to learn from. So don't get down on yourself!"

Zenjia felt her heart warm up. Umi truly was a warming spirit, easy to talk to and rather nice. she always had nice things to say, even as she admitted that the score was worse than what was posted.
"Thats true, at the very least. even if we are in B class, we aren't second rate heros. we're only getting better from here"
she noted, giving Umi a gentle smile. It was a blessing that the girl was in her class, truly. that advice would be one she would give someone else who was second guessing themselves. Umi had the spirit of a supporter
"Agreed with that too, it's only up from here right?"
she stated, before continuing
"So, what do you think of UA so far? it's different than I kinda imagined it"

Umi pondered the question. Her home town was small, and even the grounds of U.A. felt massive in comparison. She had been to Mustafu a few times now, and each time had been like dropping into the ocean. She smiled, setting a soft gaze on Zenjia.
"It's truly amazing. I already feel like I've learnt so much! Everyone's lovely, and the teachers are all great... it's just wonderful."
Umi looked around, as if to accentuate the point. Even the library was grand! Modern, yet full of knowledge.
"How about you? I guess it must be doubly hard to come all the way from another country? How are you acclimatizing to Japan?"

Zenjia paused for a moment, as she absorbed Umi's question. how was she acclimating to the new country? she's been so busy with school... and detention.... and talking to teachers.... and doing things that she wasn't explicitly supposed to be doing to really give that any thought. It was definitely a culture shock, but she expected as much. She knew that the people here were going to be different than what she was used to, that the customs were different but she was simply moving to fast to really process it all.
"Um... pretty good I guess. I'm pretty awesome at going with the flow, and I expected things to be different so I didn't really think about it all that much. One thing is for sure, though. every one here is waaaaayyy nicer than people are back at new york. There's no beeping, no shoving and everyones always apologizing when they invade other peoples personal spaces or bump into other people. The most shocking thing, though is the fact that there is NO LITTER. anywhere! Or trash cans! what's up with that?"
she asked, a bit too loudly, causing the librarian and the people around her to shush her... to which she lowered her head closer to the table in embarrassment and apologizing.
"For real, though. every one here has such great manners. the City vibe is something that I'm used to, and all but you Japanese people really are the most respectful people I've ever met. Sure, I miss home sometimes but La mia famiglia, we talk quite often... sometimes to much and for to long"
she admitted, giving the whale a goofy grin

Umi cocked her head as Zenjia described the differences between their cultures. How interesting! She would have figured Americans to be as clean as they were, though perhaps she didn't know much of them besides their pro-Heroes. She giggled as Zenjia said about how chatty her family could be. Ahe was far more talkative than anyone Umi had known!
"Well, it's about respect! Nobody likes a dirty home, so we pick up litter when we see it. There's bins in some places, but we just take our rubbish with us if we have any."
She pondered the implication. Was it that dirty in America? Zenjia was loud, but was that just the normal? She shifted as the librarian shushed them.
"Hey, do you want to go somewhere? I know a bit of Mustufu... I could show you some more things you might not have in America if you like!"

zenjia was suddenly bashful about her culture, and what she may have implicated
"we have people who care too but we also have alot of people who don't. People have a different idea of respect there too."
She claimed, chuckling to herself at the second thought. Things here were different in ways she really couldn't explain, she would have to bring Umi to the americas one day.
Her eyes lit up as the thought was moved to the backburner at umis suggestion. Shes seen some of mustafusu already... Her mind raced to her rock climbing adventure with Koito for a moment... But she was always down for more. Umi was also guaranteed to be far more relaxing
"yeah, I'm down! You can be my tour guide, where to?"
She stated, chuckling

Umi Rose, brushing down her uniform, smiling at Zenjia with joy twinkling in her eyes. Where should they go? Her mind instantly went to the beach, but presumably she had been to the coast in America. Was the ocean the same all over the world? Umi pondered further, creasing up her nose as she did so.
"Hmm... are you hungry? We could go get some sushi, perhaps? There's a great restaurant near the beach, we could get some food and then see the sea if you like?"

"famished! I could always go for some food though.... admittedly i haven't had much sushi but im willing to try!"
She said. The idea of eating raw fish was a bit weird to her but she wasn't as adverse to it some might be
"What's the beaches like here? Are they tropical? I live on the east coast so the beaches are always freezing but there is always plenty of lobster and shrimp."
She stated as she got up herself, and exited the library as quietly as she could.

"You haven't had much sushi? Oh, Zenjia, but it's amazing! I know raw fish might be off putting, but if it's prepared right then it's an amazing dish."
Umi clapped her hands together when they were outside of the library, her face a visage of excitement. If food was one of her passions, beaches were another!
"We have some amazing beaches. My home town is really warm in the summer, with some great sea life around the coast. I go swimming there every vacation I get! The ones around Mustufa are just as warm. They have a bit more debris, being next to a big city... but theyre still nice to swim in!"
Umi beamed at her new friend.
"How about sushi on the beach? There's some nice bars on the promenade that sell it! I've tasted a few already!"

Zenjia smiled. Umi was cute, when she was excited and her energy was infectious. She was glad that she was becoming friends with her, and she hoped that she could become friends with even more of her classmates.
"yeah, that sounds great! Maybe we could hit the dorms to get our suits, or we could make a shopping trip out of this too."
She offered. She stretched and placed her hands at the back of her head as she strutted along side Umi
"It definitely sounds nice to hit warmer waters. Think we'll see some wildlife in mustafusu too?"
She sounded thoughtful but was in truth somewhat pensive. She wasn't sure what she thought about when it came to swimming with fishes but she guessed that seeing some local marine life would be cool
