The scene was something of a murder scene...onlt the murderer was still there and the bodies still warm. The figure cackling quietly realized his stage had new actors and turned to face them as he withdrew his jagged-looking weapon from the lifeless figure crumpled on the ground. He made an effort to clean the weapon upon his tan cloak which was already decorated with crimson splotches. But even after cleaning it, it hummed with a black red aura briefly before fading away as he stood up. He looked upon the two bodies already on the ground and then the two arrivals with a wistful sigh. As he saw Nocturne, a gleam of realization shimmered in his dead-looking eyes. His lips curled into a sadistic open-mouthed smile as he began to pant rapidly in excitement. "Ooooh...oooh! I know you.I KNOW you! The most controversial hero. One who is used to seeing such scenes, if I recall! What FORTUITOUS circumstance be this?!" he threw his arms up in the air, his eyes laden with a crazed energy. He acknowledged Atsushi's presence but did not focus on him. Instead, he was acting quite openly with Nocturne. As if he had been following his exploits quite intently. Too intently.

Nocturne skidded to a halt, holding one hand nearest to one of his own blades as a precaution. This villain had a strange look in his eyes. "I'm going to need you to drop the weapon and come with us." He'd command. A hand was held behind his back, signaling Atsushi to come in closer. The Dusk Hero had seen enough dead bodies to know the ones on the ground had already drawn their last breath. Slowly and subtly, he gripped his weapon. "He's already gotten to them. Let's just focus on him. " His voice soft, so only Cat Scratch could hear. Subordinates weren't mind readers, but typically they'd learn their agency head's habits, almost knowing what to do without being told. This wasn't Shinja, Lauren, Flynn or Serena, but Atsushi, someone who hadn't learned his habits and vice versa. Yoo had to learn Atsushi's habits are a young hero. He gave himself the mental note to be more vocal so that there wouldn't be any confusion. For Nocturne, having efficiency was a key principle to his cape(not that he wears one). Prioritizing the right things to do at the right time would gain them victory. He firmly believed that when it came to villain suppression.
The best-case scenario in Nocturne's head was a takedown, but moving too fast may be a hasty choice. Having a unique weapon like that was likely an indicator of extreme proficiency with it, an attaché to his quirk's ability or a mix of both. Even in the midst of a battle, Nocturne kept his detective hat on. "Let's not make this harder than it has to be. I need you to put the knife down slowly, and come back up with your hands in the air." In a dark alleyway like this, it would be hard to tell that his shadow was writhing, and whirling, encroaching into the space and only avoiding the street lamp's glow. If he prepped the positioning correctly, he would be able to not only accelerate his own movements but assist his fellow young hero as well. Hand still behind his back, he pointed to the ground before flashing a thumbs up. He was well within a safety zone of Nocturne's large shadow. Since Nocturne was present when Atsushi went into his full tiger transformation, he hoped the boy would feel confident that nothing bad would happen.

blood Atsushi tried to keep focus. They were talking. This killer blood was talking at them and Nocturne was replying. Somehow the whisper got through to him but everything blood Nocturne said at the killer was just, muffled noise... they were dead. blood they were dead, they knew that. They knew what that looked like, even without remembering. dead. Atsushi tensed up, he could feel his brain, whirling, the cat brain taking over as he looked. dead. Looked at the bodydead. Looked at the killerDead. Looked at the knifeBlood
Atsushi noticed that he was forgetting to breath. He took a large breath as he braced himself, hunkering down into a ready stance, waiting for the signal... waiting for the blood.

As if drawn by Atsushi's anxiety, the man immediately jerked his head to meet Atsushi's eyes. At first he completely ignored Nocturne and directed his attention to the boy. His teeth inched out to lightly clamp down on his lower lip and his eyes reflected a manic, almost knowing, sheen to them. "Ohhhhh....! Haha...seen blood before, have you? Or maybe it is the bodies that have you so...overcome."
His eyes went to Nocturne. "What a fun pair you are..." Nocturne's warnings seemed to be completely unheard as the weapon still remained in his grasp but it wasn't pointing at them.
Rather, it was aligned horizontally with his arm. "Let's see how well you match."
He drew the weapon lengthwise across his exposed arm, shuddering with delight as blood trickled from the wound. He was grinning from ear to ear as the blade finished its course. "Oh, how it hurts...the sliding pain of cold metal slicing...it's..." he deeply inhaled, throwing his head back. He then brought his head back down with a jerk, making the emblem around his neck jangle and uttered a shuddering exhale while a maroon energy burgeoned in the palm of his weaponless hand. "....exhilarating!"
His look went from Atsushi to Nocturne, finally. He then swept his glowing hand fiercely from left to right, creating an oncoming maroon wave of energy.

As the villain spoke, he grimaced. With a watchful eye, he peered back to his sidekick who seemed to be triggered by blood. It finally dawned on him, that the young hero had never seen a crime scene in person before. Sure there were lessons, but pictures and dummies on the ground could never prepare someone for the real thing. He hoped Cat Scratch would steel himself, because as he looked back over to the villain he seemed... off. "It's always the weirdos..." He muttered under his breath. "Try not to zone out. It can cost you!" With a raised brow, the dusk hero wasted no time in pulling in every nearby shadow. Judging by the villains actions, this power was either triggered by blood or pain. He needed to figure things out quickly, in order to end things quickly.
It writhed and whirled under his feet, before he stomped down hard on the ground to create two large, clawed hands. "Hands of the Ryuujin." The large hands would shield the two heroes, the impact between the two forces kicking up plenty of dust. "It's go time kid. Time to be a hero." He'd look to Atsushi once more.

He stopped thinking about the blood. He stopped thinking about the past. At least for the moment, he he stopped thinking about the idea of 'hero'. His eyes shifted to cat slits. This at least made the blood's color less intense, he could push it aside, not think of it as ... He nodded, and sprung out from behind Nocturne's shields, dashing at the villain and aimed an uppercut... however he acted on the instinct of his arm being transformed, so instead of aimed at the chin the punch would at best land just under the ribs of the man.

The man snickered with utter delight as he watched his handiwork become blocked by the shadowy claws. He didn't seem at all distraught that his attack had been thwarted. Rather, he grinned sadistically as the blood still trickled from his self-inflicted wound. He was ready to receive the next move from the shadowy hero. His eyes grew wide with anticipation and his lips nearly curled so much, his gums could be briefly seen. "Yes...yesssss! Let me have it...huehuehue...let those shadows tear me apart!"
He was practically demanding it to happen. He craved it. But then came the unexpected action of the other who he did not expect to get so close. The moment Atsushi went on the attack, the disappointment on the man's face was readily apparent.
No!
He was a bit slow on the uptake as the attack came so swiftly, not to mention he was still dumbfounded that it was not Nocturne that was delivering the next hit but rather this mangy youngster whom he had taken for just a whelp with a traumatized background. He reared back but gagged as he felt the fearsome hit Atsushi delivered. He held the spot where he had been hit and was sent back a distance, sliding then falling to one knee.
His eyes were sunken in and as he arose, he did so with a growl. "WRONG! Not...you!" he would bark with the manic energy returning to his gaze. He shuddered from the pain and held up his left hand which had the energy from before swelling in its grasp. He slammed it to the ground and from the impact came little rushing forms of rats in the color of his energy that zipped about along the ground, with one of them leaping right at Atsushi. Exactly where he himself had been struck...containing the exact same amount of force.
The remaining ones skittered about, closing in on Noc while man himself grinned widely with anticipation.

Yoo paid close attention, more so to Atsushi than the villain. It was a clean strike, and the villain was acting rather peculiarly. The dusk hero would continue his deduction process as this battle got underway. The shadows beneath him coiled as if preparing the hero for lifted off. With a hearty jump, Nocturne soared above the man, and the critters sent after him. Instead, he was en route to his intern. Those creatures... He had a bad feeling about them. "Black Divider!" It wasn't permanent, his shadow would form a wall of defense for Catscratch.
Yoo would rest his hands on the butt of his sword, the other set as a guard of sorts. "I'll follow your lead on this next dive in." He said, allowing Atsushi to take point. There was a subtle smile forming. Like the other interns before him, Atsushi would be able to earn his stripes. No. Catscratch would be able to earn his stripes. Despite his strengths, Yoo like fighting indirectly. He was one with the shadows, it only made sense. If this villain thought this was going to be an easy day, he'd be sorely mistaken.
