The Magmafields. For all its fame and theme, the agency of Flashfire and her Dragon Heights Sidekicks was a dull affair. It was a nondescript office building among the business sector of downtown Hosu, close enough to the centre of the city that any Dragon could be despatched quickly and effectively.
For Benkei, Space Cadet Kyo, who had been offered an internship soon after his move from General Studies into the Hero Studies course, it might not seem like much. There was nothing to indicate that the Dragons lurked inside, save for a fading banner that read "Magmafields".
Unbeknownst to the boy, he was the first intern that the Dragon Heights Agency had taken on since Flashfire had founded the group, some twenty years ago. What was her change of heart? The Dragons within were excited to find out. Something had changed Flashfire's mind, so whoever it was about to step through the doors must be really special.

Ben arrived, a bit impressed such a dingy building could hold an agency. Compared to the Bear Den and Dusk Agency buildings, this place looked to be practically run down. This fact almost made the place have a home-y feel to it. The boy stood at the front door as if pondering what to do. Nocturne was family, and Mama Bear gave him a safe haven. This third choice, well... why should he choose them? The peculiar part of this was a try out run, and understandably... was to answer why should they choose HIM? He wore his gear as requested, his helmet nestled in his arm. Due to his first year in management, he already designed so much. He had a future agency name in mind, marketing, everything! He had even gotten cool with the folks over in support class. With only joining the hero course a few days ago, he was already on his second costume. He never got to stress test this one. He liked how it embodied The Rocket's image, but didn't enjoy it felt empty... -a hero he wanted to be like and not truly himself. It'd have to do until he found his voice as a hero. With a step through the door, he took in a deep breath and greet the first person. "Morning." He'd bow out of respect. These were people he didn't know. He couldn't act all chummy just yet. Especially since he hadn't made up his mind.

CLANGGGGG!
"Welcome, young dreamer, to the abode of the Dragon Lords! Feast your eyes upon the magnificence of our lair, and-"
The voice, owned by the same figure who also created a noise like a temple gong, was cut off from their verbose speech by another, slapping round the back of the head. Benkei was greeted by a collection of faces all staring at him, from various parts of what seemed like a very regular office room. Regular, save for the overwhelming dragon motifs, figures and images on every wall and surface.
"Melody, please, you'll scare the young boy! Come in, please, you must be Benkei! We've been waiting to meet you all week!"
Melody, a young woman covered with silvery scales creeping up her neck and arms, looked grumpy with the interruption, slinking away to her desk and rattling as she went. Her quirk was obviously something to do with the noise her scales made, as evident by her clanging greeting.
The other speaker was older, clad all in black with two horns on either side of her head. She breezed across the floor with a beaming, motherly smile onbher face, grasping Benkei's hands in hers and giving them a reassuring squeeze.
"Flashfire has told us all about you! Well, not everything. Well, some things! Your name, and the fact you're at U.A.. I don't think you look like our, ah, usual type though. Still, that's no problem! My name is Miss Abyss. As a Hero intern, how would you like to be addressed?"

The gong sounds was comforting in a way, not that different than the dojo he'd grown accustomed to. He just coulnd't find where the gong was at first glance. The person who spoke first was um... bold. The added faces, made the young man want to shrivel up and vanish. He hated this much attention. He wasn't even anything special according to his own measure. Dragon lords? If he joined did that make him a star dragon or a space dragon? Yoo called himself a dragon but it mainly because that's what his clan was referred to. Were he and Flashfire friends? He didn't like prying into the hero's life too much. Still, this place. It needed an update or something. Everything seemed... old. His former inner management student was already drawing up pricing for renovations. His train of thought snapped when the next dragon spoke up.
"Melody, please, you'll scare the young boy! Come in, please, you must be Benkei! We've been waiting to meet you all week!"
"I'm okay, promise." He reassured her. Scaring him wasn't really possible, at least not in this fashion. A part of him did feel like he didn't fit in though. When he searched up this agency's roster at U.A., he noticed each person literally had a dragon-like quirk. Maybe they were trying to reach out to others too. There was no possible way he was lucky enough to get picked for an interview like this on his own. In response, the boy just spat out some management jargon. "I-I think you should call me Benkei. I'm still trying to figure out my costume and name. I think I may have jumped the gun in how the identity formulation process works. It's hard to canvas a hero without properly fleshing out what makes them... them. " He chuckled with some honesty. It was true... Most kids in UA got into gear during their first year. This would help them test out costumes and gear, so that they'd be ready for their second year, and the third year after that. Admittedly, he was trying to fast-track his progress. He'd only been a "hero" for all of 10 days. He needed to be able to keep up with everyone else. And in that sense, maybe this was the place to go. To expedite his growth, he had to throw himself in a place that was unfamiliar. All the minute details didn't matter. He needed to hone in on his internal voice. With a more firm response, he- "Yeah. For now, just call me Benkei. I'm just a runt for now, but I'll transform into a true hero in this place. Don't worry, I'm a fast learner." He said. Welp, he'd accepted. All that was needed was to pass whatever test they had for him, and see if they accepted him in return. The flash of confidence quickly faded when he realized... "Mmmm, Miss Abyss. What exactly will I be doing today?"

"Of course! Understanding your own short-fallings is the sign of good growth. Hatchling Benkei, you're doing well so far!"Miss Abyss was beaming, a hand resting on the boy's shoulder. Beside her, a short and annoyed looking girl appeared. She crossed her arms, scowling at Benkei until Miss Abyss wrapped her arms around her, producing an irritated squeal from within the interior of her surprise hug. "Get off! I just came to scope out the new kid! Get off!"Miss Abyss chuckled as the other dragon escaped, turning her head towards Benkei with a wink. "Benkei, this is Ghidora. She's heading out on patrol, and the first thing you'll be doing is shadowing her! Don't mind her temper. She's a real sweet-heart deep down... and who knows, maybe love will blossom between two young souls~"Ghidora let out a noise of disgust, spinning to Benkei and fixing him with a fierce stare. "Yeah, looks like I drew the short straw... Ben-whatever, getcha gear in order. I want you costumed up and ready to leave in 5."She turned, stalking away towards the back of the office. Miss Abyss lay a hand over her mouth as she giggled. "Honestly, don't worry. She's one of the most loyal dragons here. Ghidora is someone you want in your corner if a situation goes south! You'll get along famously. But... you shouldn't keep her waiting. She doesn't like waiting for anything!"

"Benkei, this is Ghidora. She's heading out on patrol, and the first thing you'll be doing is shadowing her! Don't mind her temper. She's a real sweet-heart deep down... and who knows, maybe love will blossom between two young souls~"
He adjusted as a new dragon showed up. Now this was a personality type he was used to. It reminded him of his brothers. "Yeah... dunno about that one." He'd wave off the latter end of the statement. Still, he- "Let's work hard together." with a slight bow. When Ghidora ordered him to be ready in five, he pinched his jumpsuit and stared at it. He already was in costume, he just had to put on his helmet. Miss Abyss was nice enough to gift him with a sidebar before he met up with the shorter dragon.
"Honestly, don't worry. She's one of the most loyal dragons here. Ghidora is someone you want in your corner if a situation goes south! You'll get along famously. But... you shouldn't keep her waiting. She doesn't like waiting for anything!" She'd say.
He had conflicting feelings about loyalty, or even trusting people for that matter. He'd been taking steps in learning how to be more open. This was one of those steps. "I'll be sure to keep that in mind." He seemed nervous about relationship building rather than the mission itself. Well, it's because it was true. He had a few life or death fights already in the past. Finding a villain to fight was the least of his worries. He was stronger now than the boy he used to be. Especially since he had started to get a handle on his quirk. Unlike most kids, Benkei was a late bloomer. His quirk showed up around 12, whereas most kids got theirs around a much younger age. He'd slide his helmet on, and meet with Ghidora. "Ready." There were plenty of things to test out here; himself, this suit, and the person he was with. "Where do we start?"

Ghidora eyed Benkei up and down. Clearly, she wasn't too impressed. Did she expect a dragon themed costume? Or perhaps more than just the helmet? Either way, she simply nodded her head towards the door, sweeping away without checking he would follow.
Outside, she stretched out her wings and arms, taking a deep breath.
"'What will I be doing?' 'Where do we start?' Tch! That ain't the kind of questions a hero should be askin'!"
Ghidora spun around to face Benkei as he exited the building. She crossed her arms, fixing him with a fierce stare.
"First lesson, snotbrain! Heroes never ask that kinda thing! I read ya file when Flashfire said you'd be comin' to join us. Ya just moved up to the hero course? Well, forget what ya know from that! Ain't those U.A. teachers taught you nothin' so far?"
Ghidora turned away again, marching with determination down the street, towards the main heart of Hosu City. She seemed to expect Benkei to keep up, as she continued spitting venomous words his way.
"Heroes don't decide what to do on a day! We hit the streets, feel the air on our wings an' the ground beneath our claws. We go lookin' for people to help, and that's all we need to know!"
Ghidora turned her head slightly, glowering over her shoulder towards the boy.
"Flashfire sees somethin' in ya. I don't, not as you are. What made ya want to be a hero? Fame? Money? Tch. It's all the same these days. Blah blah, give me orders, talk the talk, but ya kids ain't willin' to jus' follow ya heart an' figure it out for ya selves!"
Ghidora paused, halting her steps and half turning towards Benkei.
"Hmph. Ya said yer didn't have a hero name yet. Why? Don't expect me to believe that spiel ya fed to Abyss. What's stoppin' ya from steppin' into a pair of Hero boots?"

Benkei glanced over this woman. She and Abyss were complete opposites. How did they get along on the same team? On top of that, the woman was seemingly answering her own questions by making assumptions of him. It left him a little confused on how to answer. He'd swallow before answering. Seemingly any answer was the wrong answer with this person. If Flashfire was the in, and Miss Abyss seemed excited, then it meant he just had to get Ghidora's good side right? She presumably was the hard one to please right? He needed to figure out how...
"'What will I be doing?' 'Where do we start?' Tch! That ain't the kind of questions a hero should be askin'!"
~I'm not a hero, I'm a student~ He responded internally as to not add more fire to her draconic flame.
"First lesson, snotbrain! Heroes never ask that kinda thing! I read ya file when Flashfire said you'd be comin' to join us. Ya just moved up to the hero course? Well, forget what ya know from that! Ain't those U.A. teachers taught you nothin' so far?"
He stared trying to find the least smart ass sounding of a response. Internally ~I just started a week or so ago... I've only taken entry test and quirk evaluations~
Responding out loud, he-"Yes, that's right. From Management course to General up until now, ma'am... All I know about is agency management Ghidora-senpai." That felt respectful. Good. Good. He was feeling confident!
"Heroes don't decide what to do on a day! We hit the streets, feel the air on our wings an' the ground beneath our claws. We go lookin' for people to help, and that's all we need to know!"
~They sure take this dragon thing seriously...~ He thought, remaining silent for this. Maybe this astronaut suit was too over the top for this place. Should he have come in his UA gym clothes. He couldn't help but overthink. He'd deflate more when she berated him and others like him for not being experienced. He'd huff from under his mask. He wanted to be a hero like The Rocket. Someone who could save people, like Nocturne who could sniff out crime with detective precision, like Mama Bear who gave back to the community she occupied... Lots of heroes had admirable traits. Was wanting to be a hero just not enough? Ultimately his main reason for was to repay hero society. Nocturne didn't let him fall through the cracks, so he wanted to embody what a hero was. Maybe even one day become a great. It was too much to fit into one answer. "I just got here by luck," He muttered in a low tone. By his own measure, he was just lucky to be there. Ghidora not being impressed made sense.
"Hmph. Ya said yer didn't have a hero name yet. Why? Don't expect me to believe that spiel ya fed to Abyss. What's stoppin' ya from steppin' into a pair of Hero boots?" - She'd say.
In response, "Space Cadet Kyo... It's a work in progress. I'd really rather you just call me Benkei for now, until I figure things out." He lacked confidence in his hero identity, but "Nothing's stopped me because I'm right here right now." he had plenty of resolve to become one. He'd become a hero regardless of what anyone thought. He knew that much. "You don't have to believe FlashFire, or anyone. I'll make sure I become one with or without approval. Or else I'll be putting everyone's hard work to waste." The only reason he was alive was due to other people. His brothers shoved him to Bones before they were killed. The Bones org fought for their respect, and he was lucky enough to survive a second Yakuza attack. Everything he knew crumbled, at least until he met Nocturne and the rest of his family. Then he met Mama Bear, who gave him safe haven for some years until he started UA. "All my life people had done nothing but protect and look out for me... To repay them for all their hard work... Become a hero is the only option." He'd speak his truth without telling the whole story. Maybe he could tell it if they got to know each other better.

Ghidora narrowed her eyes at Benkei as he retorted. Repaying those who had been protecting him... slowly, she nodded, eyes closed, arms folded. Her wings folded, as if it was a sign of anger when they were spread wide. A sign of intimidation, perhaps? Ghidora cracked open an eye, and for the first time since they had met, a smile slipped onto her lips.
"Tch. Good answer, Benkei."
She spun, stalking down the street once more, but now at a pace where Benkei could follow more easily. She folded her wings up entirely, making room beside her.
"Today, is like all other days. We're out helpin' stabilize peace an' keep people safe. Villains are everywhere, an' Hosu ain't no walk in the park! Hmm, have ya ever faced a Villain yet? I'd bet not, but ya U.A. kids seem to be gettin' hit a lot these days."
Ghidora raised her nose suddenly, taking a deep sniff of the air. She turned her head towards the student, grinning sharp teeth.
"Speakin' of trouble... smells like ya might be able to see some action already. Ya ready, Benkei?"

Tough question. Being born in Yakuza, there wasn't really a defining line of good and bad guys, just families, mini organizations, tasks that needed to get done... It was really its own thing. He thought about his biggest example, Nocturne, who was the head of the Ryuujin clan. Yoo wasn't a villain, but he did what needed to be done for his family. He thought to his own family, and even the gang he was introduced to... They did bad things, but not because they wanted to... Yeah, he'd fought bullies, rival gang members, and even some scuffles between other families. Perhaps the answer was yes. "I've fought a fair amount..." by a regular hero's standards, all yakuza were probably bad guys and if that were the case, yeah... he'd fought plenty.
Ghidora sprang into action as she seemed to have sense something. Sliding his helmet over his head, he- "Yes! As ready as I'll ever be."

"All right! Now yer gettin' it!"
Ghidora grinned, stretching her wings wide, casting deep shadows on the ground. With one heavy flap she was in the air, not waiting for Benkei to keep up. Ghidora was fast, her powerful wings creating fierce downdrafts, soaring low through the streets at an impressive speed. It would take all of Benkei's training to keep up!
The scene, when they arrived, was a chaotic bank heist. Smashed glass windows showed that they had broken in with force, and there were screams over the wailing alarms to indicate this was a very recent occurance. Ghidora's sense of smell was no joke. As she landed, the dragon clenched her fist. Then, a second later, the villains emerged!
There were five, in total. Each had a bag of money, and were booking it fast from the building. On seeing Ghidora, her wings outstretched and her expression pissed, one of them yelled out a command. Split up! He went straight ahead, down an alleyway across from the bank. Two turned left, heading down the highstreet, and another went right. The final one shot straight up, bird-like wings making short work of his escape. Ghidora turned to Benkei with a nod.
"Im goin' for the flyer! We gotta catch the other four. Make a choice, Benkei, an' do the Dragons proud!"
She flapped her mighty wings, and was gone, flying fast after wings with frightening speed.
Now, Benkei had three options. Which one would he go for? The chase was on!

Benkei's mind rolled as he trotted along. He paid no real effort in trying to keep up and spent more vigilance in making sure she was still in eyesight. As long as he could follow the general direction, he wouldn't be too far behind. Keeping up with someone like her would be a waste of energy, and he'd learned enough from Nocturne the importance of load management and keeping enough in the tank. The thugs were in eyeshot and Benkei would slip his hand passed his thigh to engage his moon boots. "Im goin' for the flyer! We gotta catch the other four. Make a choice, Benkei, an' do the Dragons proud!"His steps would evolve into jumps to which he'd land on a star and jump for another boost in height. With this final hearty jump, dark clouds manifest from his hands. They'd glitter as dust would be supercharged into stars, Benkei holding a cluster of stars in either hand. "Star Shooter, Showering Sky!" He'd launch the groups both left and right. They'd blast off in the direction of the goons with a wide spread shot gun like spread. They'd pierce like bullets would, but if the surface was too hard, they'd simply explode upon impact. Benkei specifically was aiming for the legs. Even if the projectiles missed, the concrete getting violently dented would surely make someone fall. He'd take his attention to the duo, If he could stop two it would be better than stopping just one. He'd bank left after the duo, only hoping he were lucky enough to get a hit on the man who went right and slow him down drastically. "This is the most efficient way to do this right?" He muttered under his breath, hoping Nocturne's tips would help. He'd already been in fights, but hero work was a different ball game. He had to be precise or else things could go drastically wrong! "Hey, you two! STOP RIGHT THERE!" He'd call out.

"Heroes! Shit!"
The stars struck the ground by the villain's assorted feet. The lone one stumbled and fell, while the other two leapt and dodged around it. One seemed to have a quirk where his ankles were spring-like, making his jumps easier. The other was just quick, ducking and weaving. He turned his head back as Benkei followed.
"Aw, c'mon! Give us a break! Ya need to-"
A hand shot out, and a blast of ice-cold air blasted out of his palm towards Benkei. The robber gave a sly grin as he continued to run.
"-chill out!"

Shoot... only one down. He'd land onto the ground, and sprint after the too. They seemed to be a lot peskier since they had quirks. He kept Serena's words in mind... Yeah.. It had to be important to remember what they came from but not exhibit the same bad lessons taught from being on the streets. This wasn't a fight for survival or to kill, it was just to subdue them. This meant he'd have to adjust his plan of attack. He smirked at the man being an ice user. "Lucky~~~. Shield Constellation." He'd clutch his fist tight, and erupting from it a large five-pointed star rested on his Knuckles as he charged forward with no issue. His stars emitted heat, so this blast of ice would meet a quality defense. With pitter-pattering steps, he'd run after them. The teen huffed. This suit and helmet were incredibly hot... While moving around was easier, the flashiness and fashion focus made for a sweaty ordeal. He'd have to go back to the drawing board when he got back to school. Ripping the helmet off, he'd initiate another jump, using the very same star as a jump pad to get closer. He'd chuck a tiny star far ahead of the pack.
A tiny star sat floating, before igniting into a giant flash bang. Hopefully this would stun these damned villains. "Solar Flare!"

"Shit!"
The star tore through the ice without issue. The villains pushed on, skidding around a corner and flitting down an alley. Benkei's flashbang star flew past them... and exploded with an intense light! It burnt for a few moments, before the area returned to normal.
The ice villain was crouched behind the body of the other. The latter had spread both arms and legs across the alley, springs connecting them to his torso that had protected his ally. His head had bounced up high, spring extending far into the sky to avoid the flashbang.
Now it retracted swiftly, his limbs joining back up. As Benkei approached, he dropped his bag, pointing both fists towards the approaching hero.
"Spring Canon!"
His arms shot forward, his springs extending swiftly towards the cosmic hero. Ice villain rose up himself, releasing a blast of ice - not at Benkei, but at the walls and floors of the alley, creating a slippery field around him!
