It must be nice, having a concrete understanding of what you wanted your future to be. Ryoken was not like most of his classmates in that regard. He simply had an aim, and not much beyond that. For him, this period of his life was as much of an exploratory phase as it was a training one. It could also explain why he was more willing to spread out his interests and experiment more, but more likely it was just in his meticulous nature to be as thorough as possible and not miss any opportunities. He had the fortune of being blessed with talent and good parents, to allow himself to keep up with his classmates while applying his effort in areas other than getting stronger, although of course, that wasn't to say he was neglecting it either.
"There's definitely some things I've still got to figure out... but it won't do me any good stressing out about it without a solution. The way I see it, I've still got plenty of time. Each day is a new opportunity, and honestly, I'm not looking much further beyond that. I've got to find my road forward first before I can run along it, you know?" Ryoken had a couple of goals, but they both had the same problem, even if widely different in scale. He could picture the world in which they were achieved, but not the methodology needed to create them.
"I guess that's why I feel free to just keep on moving day by day, and addressing whatever comes up as it happens," he remarked, folding the edge of his notebook page before gently tearing it off and sliding it across the table for Yo to look at, as the boy got up from his seat. "Like chatting with you tonight, perhaps." Ryoken left his classmate to check the page as he crossed to the kitchen area of the common room, retrieving some ice out of the freezer before filling up his thermos with some frigidly cold tap water from the sink.
Depicted on the paper was a fairly detailed sketch of the moon, but with the center left featureless, where instead it was a rough portrait of Yo's face, smiling cheerfully.
