Sun Nao watched the scene taking shape before him as his astral body continued onward. His eyes scanned the battlefield, and he could only say he recognized Strange among them, but they all seemed to be powerful magicians of different kinds. It did give him some pause that just a single creature could have been so dangerous that it required all these people to fight.
"Weirdos, horror and pure evil, huh." He muttered to himself as the scene continued to play out until it folded in on itself.
As he returned to his own body, the young demigod took a moment to regain his bearings before looking up at Doctor Strange. That certainly had been one hell of a ride. He sank back into the sofa as Strange spoke, running a hand through his hair. That was a very good question. Sun Nao closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
"Well, it is nice that you're being honest about it, doc." He began, "I'll be honest too. I used to be careful, frightened, shy even... I did as I was told, followed the rules and never drew outside the lines. My world was very small." He shook his head. "I'm not that me anymore; I'm something new, and I love that. I've never felt so free in my life, my occasional abductions aside, or that I still find it difficult to open a door without breaking it. But, as much as I hate to admit it, I'm my father's son; I'm impulsive, stubborn, and sometimes cantankerous, and I find it difficult to take myself or others seriously." Sun Nao paused long enough for his words to sink in before continuing. "In spite of, or maybe because of all that, am I willing to lay down my life for a cause?" He opened his eyes and looked into the dark gaze of Strange. "Absolutely. I happen to like the universe."

Strange watched Sun Nao, then slowly nodded, a smile spreading behind his goatee.
"Great. I think you're gonna go far, kid. Training starts straight away. Let's get out of this cold basement, and I'll show you how to do some real magic!"
________________________________________________________________________
A few months passed with haste. Strange took Sun Mao under his wing, as the Ancient One had taken him. He showed him the ropes, as tough as they were, but made sure he was firmly in place as a member of the Sanctum Sanctorum. Sun Nao got his own room, though Strange let him return to his true home with the power of portals.
It was a Tuesday morning that broke over New York like a lazy golden creature, sprawling sunlight across the buildings, streets and ancient Sanctum. Strange was already up, early riser that he was. He was in the foyer, checking the post, away in a world of his own.
Training with Sun Nao was going well, but he still felt niggling doubts about Enchantress and the Justice League. The other members of Darkwatch had melted away for now, and he had nobody save his trusted companion Wong to share his troubled thoughts with. It showed on his face, a frown as he stared blankly at the month's latest water bill.
"$234... Wong's going to have to cut back on baths. Can't he just travel to a hot spring, or something..."

New York mornings were something else. A world unto itself. The morning light beaming from the uncountable towers of glass. There was something equally ethereal about the city like the autumnal gothic nature combined with countless mixing cultures in New Orleans. Prue had just returned from an extended stay at Miss Robichaux's. More a visit to see Cordelia, the elder witch was exceedingly pleased to see the school thriving. The splendor of magic covering every corner of the premises, the intoxicating energy and vibrance of youth, prosperity felt to the bone by the Sovereign's clear leadership. The mother and daughter shared stories, quenched their thirst with a good whiskey. Neither of them were partial to the spirit, truth be told, but they promised to crack open one of Fiona's finest old bottles when they met again. Mostly in mocking remembrance. Fiona would've laughed at the notion. So did Prudence and Cordelia. But the deceased rival and mother was only a fraction of the topics they covered. Needless to say, it was as if not a moment had passed since Prue left. However, good memories only last when they eventually end. A fond "until we meet again" was uttered, with Prudence returning to her other life. But before she could return to the Sanctum proper, there was a ritual she had to perform every time the concrete walls of New York embraced her again. The coffee was delightfully bitter. The tarte Tatin coated her tongue with its pleasant sweetness. The puffs of smoke from her clementine-flavoured vape filled the surrounding air with the citrusy aroma. Yes, Prudence simply had to enjoy her favourite cafe and take in the unique aura of the city before she could conduct any sort of business. She did have to admit that she would've made a better tart herself, but it was the overall experience that mattered. Once she had taken her necessary time, Prue left her table, immersed herself in a nearby crowd and suddenly disappeared. A vanishing act wasn't anything unusual to the seasoned people of New York and she sure as hell wasn't about to use public transport. She didn't have to. Transmutation was known differently to most others practicing magic. Their use of it was to alter other objects. The way of her and Miss Robichaux's pupils was to transmute oneself, to allow for effective teleportation in the blink of an eye. Instead of stepping through a portal (which were useful on loger distances) or vanishing through a puff of colored smoke, Prudence simply disappeared, only to appear in an instant at the place of her choosing. As long as it was within the premises of the city. Any further and the results could prove... problematic. And even then, inexperienced magicians had managed to transmute themselves in unpleasant locations every so often. In Prue's case, her transition from the streets to the Sanctum was smooth like butter. Donning one of the multiple exquisite outfits she possessed, Prue appeared a few meters behind Strange. Unlike some others, she hadn't need to gain explicit access. Prue had obtained that long ago. She took in the interior of the Sanctum after all this time, finding that nothing had changed. It had remained an unnecessarily moody place, yet with some character still. But the self-seriousness of Stephen explained matters to a degree. She arrived just a moment before the sorcerer voiced his dissatisfaction about the Sanctum's monthly financial situation. Baring little mind to that, she took a few steps around the room they were in, remembering what it was like being in a magical sanctuary like this again.
"Oh you have far more pressing concerns than that, my dear. You desperately still need an interior designer! Just say the word and I'll have this place whipped up in a jiffy."
Prue let her hand slide over whatever furniture was present as she strolled through the space. Her facial expressions changed each time she saw something in need of improvement or the few choices that actually made her smirk with content. It was a known aspect of her personality. Fitting to a T when it came to witches like her. She then strode towards Stephen, taking his face gently in her hands and looked into his eyes wtih a motherly warmth.
"Strikingly handsome as ever, Stephen. A travesty you haven't been swept off your cloak by a divine beloved."
Her voice was like magic itself. Fluctuating in tone, cadence, and timbre. None of it felt out of place. It all made sense, as if she was a fairy godmother brought to life. She would never exactly describe herself as such, knowing she had much more bite than that sweet lady in the blue cloak did. Not to mention more darkness in her life, but that was beside the point right now. She also felt another presence in the Sanctum, one she hadn't met before. Aside from all the magical artefacts and Wong, that is.

A few weeks seemed like such a long time, but also a very short one at the same time. Sun Nao had been given his own room at the Sanctum, which was not what he had expected, but he still was happy about it. He also made good use of his ability to be in more than one place simultaneously to keep things going with his family... he did not want them to be suspicious. Well, his grandmother had figured things out when he returned the first time, but that was to be expected. At least he had not broken anything... too important, even if he had caused Strange a few headaches over the course of the weeks... but never maliciously, and only due to one factor. Impulsivity. Not to say he did not warn the doctor beforehand... because he did.
Sun Nao stepped out of his high school classroom on Tuesday morning in New York. He glanced at the time and cursed to himself in Mandarin. He did not want to be late... but it had been difficult to get out of class, and he could not well poof another himself out of thin air in the middle of math. Still, he should be on time if he hurried now. Quickly diving into one of the school's bathrooms, he pulled out a strand of hair and, with a flick, summoned a copy of himself. With his other self returning to class, Sun Nao gracefully climbed out the bathroom window and summoned his cloud.
Now, straight for Strange!
Well... almost.
"I'm here!" Sun Nao burst through the door, maybe with a little too much force, as the impact of the doors hitting the walls caused them to shake painfully, and a few objects fell from their shelves. The young Chinese boy was carrying a bag over one shoulder and was trying to shove his school uniform into it as he walked across the room. "I was trying to hurry but was sidetracked. So, I had to make a quick stop on the way... I did get some....". He pulled out a pack of Brazilian coffee beans but froze as his eyes turned to look at Strange and found him not alone but with a lady. He had never seen her before, not that he had seen a lot of people here at all, apart from Strange and Wong, and Sun Nao really liked Wong. They even spent some time making dumplings together, so that was a nice bonding experience.
"coffee" He finally managed to say. Sun Nao also completely forgot if he should hide his tail... so it was very much visible, swaying behind him. His bright eyes looked between the two adults curiously, and something like a playful smirke appeared on his face. It was a clear indicator that he might have the wrong idea of what was happening here. "Am I... interrupting something, doc?"
Both the sorcerer and the witch could immediately sense that Sun Nao was not alone, or there was something very much alive upon his person somewhere, something small.

"Pru."
Strange couldn't contain a smile as he felt the witch appear behind him before she spoke. He turned to her, waving the bills away into thin air, watching her move about the room with dark, curious eyes. There were few creatures in the universe that could so brazenly teleport into the Sanctum with ease, and one of those was Strange. The old building seemed to let Pru do as she pleased, as it always had. Not that Strange minded.
He waved absently as she mentioned the interior design.
"Well, this building is ancient. It's historical... and besides, I did that thing you told me to do last time. At least, I did a bit of it."
Strange motioned to a very out of place chair, reupholstered in garish, vibrant patterns. It sat in the very corner of the entrance room, neatly tucked away.
"I did try to do more, but after I had finished that, I found that every door I opened seemed to lead into an active volcano. I think the Sanctum was trying to tell me something."
Strange smiled, holding still and obedient as Pru took his face in her hands, staring into his eyes.
"You know I'm the Sorcerer Supreme, right? It's not like you haven't aged like a fine wine either, Pru. Each time I see you, it seems like you become more radiant. Speaking off..."
He waved a hand, two glasses appearing between his fingers. Pru's favourite of the Sanctum vintage, something he saved special just for her. It might be morning here, but it was 5pm somewhere in the Multiverse.
Then the door slammed back, and Strange closed his eyes, wincing. He stepped away from Pru's grasp as he turned to face Sun Nao, glowering at the boy.
"Didn't I tell you not to slam those? They're an ageless relic!"
Strange shook his head, but he was smiling, at least within his eyes. He turned his head to Pru with a nod.
"This is Sun Nao. He's a new apprentice of mine. Talented kid, even if he doesn't have any etiquette for how to treat this place. Sun Nao, this is Pru. She's a member of Darkwatch, a powerful, frightening witch. I daresay she's got more magic in her little finger than in my whole body!"
He walked to Sun Nao, eyes narrowed at his comment, then turned to face Pru from the doorway, slowly closing the ancient wooden entrance with a lot more care. Strange sipped his wine, staring across the distance at his old friend and ally. It wasn't for nothing that Pru decided to appear on his doorstep.
"So, Pru... it's been a while. What brings you to New York?"

Strange had that mischievous smile to him that proved popular with most ladies he met. A dimple here, a twinkle there, a look in his eyes. The man had it down to its minutiae. His charisma had a similar effect on Prudence, albeit with an "old friend" clause stamped over it. But it was the shameless flirting that ran concurrent with being close colleagues. Particularly when both were as versed in the mystical as those two were. Peers through and through.
A pleased smirk adorned her face, hearing his "attempts" at taking her advice. She didn't expect him to follow her guidance, stubborn and clueless like he had a tendency to be. All meant with admiration, naturally. It wasn't something Prue had to voice aloud.
"The Sanctorum takes after its owner. You needn't worry, I'll have a chat with Wong about this later."
Her reaction to him conjuring a favourite of hers was unsurprising. An expression of flattery, gently grasping the glass. Even through her gloves, she felt the intricate textures of the vessel holding its contents. The full-bodied, fruity nectar coated the entirety of her mouth in an instant as she took a healthy sip. A murmur of approval escaped her lips, a sound that said more than any tome. Prue wasn't one to neglect a simple pleasure. After all, a healthy consumption of wine was supposed to prolong one's life and youth.
"Nonsense, dear! Courtship finds its place among even the most preoccupied of us."
She had listened to his honey-coated words about her and at the same time, fixated her gaze on the chair he gestured towards before. She essentially glided towards the piece of furniture at the same time Sun Nao made his explosive entrance. She didn't give him much notice until she had examined Strange's "attempt". A gauche looking chair, she immediately realized what he tried to accomplish per her instructions. And yet, he either lacked or disregarded the necessary level of finesse needed. In addition. he merely changed one chair, instantly clashing with the rest of the space. Indeed, Wong would prove much more useful to her vision of this place.
Prudence took Stephen's words to Sun as the moment she would turn to face the youngling proper. He didn't look much, save for his prominent tail. She did feel power radiating off of him. Prue had her assumptions and suspicions as to what he was, but knew she wouldn't have to do much guesswork. The answers were bound to be delivered. An interesting figure, it seemed. Aside from the characteristics of a standard hormonal young man.
Taking another sip, she let her eyes settle on Sun as Stephen introduced her. He added impressive adjectives that she didn't disagree with. Rather, she took them as affirmation of her being, as was intended. Her glass emptied quicker than she realized, feeling a pleasant warmth radiate through her body. But since she had to, very likely, be an example of a seasoned witch, Prue dismissed the glass into the void with a slight flick of her wrist. She gradually made her way closer to the pair, beginning her personal introduction mid-motion.
"Dr. Strange's flattery continues to be a boon of his. Powerful, yes. Frightening? Only when I choose to be."
Stephen's gaze would've likely followed her. Once she reached Sun, she extended her hand, proposing an official greeting.
"Prudence Wharton, dear. My esteemed colleagues and a veritable, small... cabal of fans often refer to me as Madame Moon."
Prue's tone changed slightly, yet noticeably enough mid-sentence when beginning to explain her return to the city.
"The essence of New York beckoned my return! And... there is a matter we need to discuss soon."
The witch's eyes communicated enough as her attention was on the Sorcerer Supreme for a moment. An important matter, yet nothing that couldn't wait for a while longer. The world wasn't burning, yet. Prue returned her curiosity towards Sun, a plethora of questions occupying her mind. Though it was best to start small.
"Tell me, pebble. What circumstances lead you to this bastion of arcana?"

"Oops, sorry," Sun Nao said with a sheepish smile, looking up at the ceiling. "Sorry," He called out, aiming it at the building, not Strange. With that out of the way, the young demigod turned his attention back to the stranger in the room. She looked like an impressive lady, with a similarly impressive magical aura to his grandmother... but also with the look of a lady that might not like being compared to a 90-year-old little Chinese woman. She had an air of confidence in the way she walked, something Nao could respect and even admire. One might call it swagger, but he doubted she would have liked that word either.
"Choosing when to be frightening is really sweet, isn't it?" He commented on Moon's words, giving her a bright smile.
As she reached him, he straightened himself before giving her a polite bow. At least until he knew her better, he would try to be formal. There was still this ingrained respect for elders, and age was very... difficult to determine with witches. "Nínhǎo, it is a pleasure to meet you, Madame Moon; I'm Sun Nao, son of Sun Wukong, The Monkey King." He also accepted her hand and kissed it politely. He did know how to be a gentleman. "Sounds like you've got something important to discuss with the Doc; I can come back later?" He looked to Strange as he asked this.
His attention returned to Prudence at her question.
"I was going to visit the Museum of Ice Cream; it's just a few streets away." He replied, pointing in that direction. "It was closed, so as I just walked in a random direction, I saw this sus magic building, and Doctor Strange did a whole weird Wizard of Oz routine when I came inside, big floating head." He made a pause before clearing his throat. "But originally, I had just had a row with my mother and stormed out to clear my head, so I just sort of picked a random direction and ended up in New York."

Strange watched Pru move about the Sanctum. She had a way to make herself at home all at once, and in such a fashion that made it a solid fact. She did belong here, and always had. He smiled to himself as she inspected his attempt at interior design. In truth, Strange had never been good at it. He had paid other people to be good at it, back in the days before he had shattered his hands and left that kind of materialism behind.
And yet, and yet... something was troubling Strange about his friend's return. That subtle shift in her voice was one he had come to know, and dread. Pru wasn't the kind of person to make an unexpected house call without reason, and a reason for Pru meant trouble. He allowed the two to talk, his mind wandering as he waved his glass away, frowning to himself, hand tugging at his goatee as he always did when he was troubled.
Strange came back to the world when the conversation came back towards him. He chuckled slightly, still pleased with the way he had introduced himself to Sun Nao. He and Wong had laughed about it a lot, but it had also proved that this kid was alright. Brave, insightful, and, most importantly of all, not afraid to laugh.
He looked gently at Sun Nao, his keen innocence shining through. Sure, he wasn't a fully fledged member of Darkwatch yet, and he was still just a trainee Sorcerer, but Strange already held him in high esteem. Not that he would tell him, of course.
"Nonsense. Anything Pru wishes to tell me is something you can hear too. If you're going to be my Apprentice, I need you to know of such important matters."
He turned his head towards Pru, eyes narrowing slightly as he tried to read her unreadable face. Strange felt unease in the pit of his stomach. He tried to wave it away, motioning towards one of the doors that lead through deeper into the Sanctum, where a room would be laid out ready for three, cozy and filled with the smell of freshly brewed leaves, spices and other interesting nasal curiosities.
"But it can wait until after we've had some tea, of course."

Sun Nao's observations of Prue were half-correct. Age was a concept she was intimately familiar with. She made no attempts to hide hers, at least not visually. Few knew her true age. More a mischievous little secret she could mystify people with, rather than a strong personal conviction. Any possible comparisons to others capable in the arcane and to those having that at a grand age, would be perceived as an honor. Were the comparisons more related to the personality traits stereotypically linked to mature women, then there would've been a displeased glance and a few sharp words aimed at the young Prince.
Prudence wasn't a stranger to the lingo of youth either, using it herself (albeit only occasionally) when the suitable occasion arose. Possible musings aside, she focused on his framing of what she said about herself as being "sweet". Peculiar, though not entirely false. She bore it little mind after Sun introduced himself proper. Chinese origin, marvelous. A land filled with a plethora of magic, despite the large country being what it was in this day and age. But even more impressively still...
A Prince?
That, combined with his courteous greeting did much to give a good impression. Prudence never declined the opportunity to be treated like a lady, grit and tenacity gladly taking a backseat. The keen-eyed could deduct her complexion turning a soft shade of red for a brief moment. The greeting filled her with wondrous glee, a twinkle in her eye, looking at both Sun and Stephen.
"Oh, how marvelous! A Prince in our midst!"
Her voice conveyed said glee exactly as it was intended. A higher pitch of her register, Prudence sounded like a joyous aunt or grandmother. She wasn't one to hide her joy just as much she enjoyed the cutting tones of sarcasm. Sun Nao was indeed polite, and while her matter was important and would grow to be even more so over time, it lacked an immediate emergent nature.
"No need, darling. It isn't of a dire nature yet. And yes, you should be present for that as well, if you are to truly become one of us."
Prue's tone switched back to her usual witchy-ness in the blink of an eye. A master of many things, Madame Moon was. Her voice and demeanor clearly among them. Sun Nao's elaboration to her question was expectedly dripping with youthful energy. He did also confirm her suspicion that New York hadn't resided him at all. The fates spin their yarn in fascinating ways. His reason of ending up in the city was also a known trope. She looked at him with slight concern and a furrowed brow.
"Family is precious, dear. Do not squander the love and potential with those you care about."
Her words came from a place of knowing and experience. She had to learn it, so it would've been unwise of her to not share her wisdom. Expecting... no, knowing that the young one would take her words to heart at least somewhat, Prue looked at the room beckoning them. The herbal scents enamored her instantly, reminding her of her own little greenhouse and stations back at the Academy. She resisted the urge to reminisce about her girls again, instead taking determined steps into the room, taking in the calming environment.
"Splendid, Stephen! Citrus sings its tangy notes to me today."
Describing her preferred flavor for the day, aimed at their host, she took a moment to make herself comfortable on the seating arrangements. She then wasted no time getting to prodding the young royal. Her question aimed at both the mentor and mentee.
"So what is it that a Monkey Prince can do, exactly? His talents must be impressive enough to have him under the tutelage of the Sorcerer Supreme."

Sun Nao did not know what to expect as a reaction to presenting himself, but this was not what he had imagined upon someone hearing his status as the son of the Monkey King. He did not even use the Monkey Prince title. Prudence's gleeful response made the young Chinese teen's cheeks slightly pink. "I guess it's all really new to me if I'm honest." He replied but still straightened his back a little. "I'm honoured that you recognize my position. Not many would, apart from the Monkeys. Which reminds me-" He paused as his eyes looked to Doctor Strange. "I got a- I guess the best word would be a distress call on my way here- which was why I ran a little late. There were some rather- mean people, and she was alone and- well." Sun Nao made a few gentle sounds that instantly made the mind go to a monkey, albeit it was difficult to pinpoint what kind of monkey. A pair of minuscule hands appeared as a very, very small monkey peeked out from Sun Nao's collar; she was furry and had bright brown/green eyes that curiously examined the two magic users. "They were going to sell her, had her in this really cramp cage..." Sun Nao explained, as a finger reached for the monkey, who carefully touched him and let out a small chirp-like sound, something Sun Nao replied with one of his own before looking to the others. He also listened to Strange and, afterwards, Prudence, who both assured him he should stay, so he did. "I know," he replied to Prudence's words about family, "Grandma is the only one who knows about, well, everything, and she is a witch... so she knew about it well before I did. Ma- well, Ma's working a lot, so she rarely even hears when I talk about my life unless it's about my grades... or failures." He cleared his throat and shook his head. "But, that's my trouble to deal with, never mind me. Compared to the guys who took down Enchantress, my problems are nothing. " He smiled at her; he was starting to recognize her now. Sun Nao had seen her before inside the vision Strange showed him from the fight with the Enchantress, and Madame Moon had been among them. He joined the witch in the next room and was starting to get familiar with the Sanctum now and also got the sensation that the building liked him... in spite of his carelessness with the doors. Sun Nao gracefully made himself comfortable in a soft armchair. "We got some fresh fruit, doc?" He asked as the little marmoset climbed out onto his shoulder before making her way onto his head, grasping his hair tightly. Someone more perceptive could instantly tell, or sense, that the little monkey was also pregnant. "I can do some things..." He replied with a bright smile, happy to the change of subject. "Before I started training with Strange, my divine father focused on teaching me Yōjutsu, mostly about transfiguration and replication. I'm rather good at the latter, not so the former." He began to think about what he should add, leaving the details of his current lessons to Strange, and he decided to explain his other powers first. "I can also throw a car as if it were a baseball. I don't need to breathe, and I can topple people over if I blow really hard. Grandma also told me that my body has been purified from toxins, and I'm very resistant to poisons, toxins and diseases. I can summon a cloud to fly on... uh... oh, and I can talk with Monkeys." He reached to scratch the marmoset.

Strange raised an eyebrow as Sun Nao withdrew a small monkey from his pocket, but even at this stage he was not surprised. The boy had a lot of eccentricities, revolving around primates and peaches primarily, but that wasn't abnormal among the magical sorts that inhabited Darkwatch and the community that Strange knew. He found himself smiling, and waved a hand. A bowl of fresh fruit spun into existence, brimming with a variety of exotic fruits.
At the same time, three cups danced into reality. They were filled with whatever flavour Strange's two guests were currently thinking of. In his own was a dark, strong coffee. He took a seat, brushing down his outfit, while his cape fluttered into a comfortable position.
Strange shot a look at Pru, knowing and wise.
"See? The boy is something of a natural, even from day one. There's not been many sorcerers that entered these halls with the gifts he wields. I've never known any of them having the ability to speak with monkeys, either..."
He chuckled, taking a deep drink of his coffee. Black, strong and bitter. Strange felt like he needed it.
"It is strange, Pru, for you to drop in with news, but it not be dire. Not yet, anyway? You certainly have my curiosity."

His position withstanding, Sun Nao was indeed just a boy, having the natural reactions a teenager would. As well as the plights that came with living at such an age. A journey of finding oneself, particularly when part of you was veritable royalty. Granted, those titles carried varying meanings and levels of importance. The title was obviously important to the young prince. One that Prudence had no desire to ignore. Her attention was turned to the miniscule monkey, giving her a playful smirk, accompanied by a wink.
Prudence had never had a pet of her own, aside from the familiars she conjured or those who made their own way to Miss Robichaux's. But she knew for certain that animals were among the purest creatures to grace the planet. Just as complex, if not more, than the homo sapiens and its various sub-species. Hearing of the prince's rescue efforts confirmed her assumptions about his nature. And she supposed that his affinity with everything simian (and otherwise) had a little something to do with it.
Sun Nao was certainly dutiful in satisfying her queries. His open nature spoke volumes. She could only hope the same went for the line of work he had signed up for. Time would tell. But it was clear that the youngling wasn't without his own share of baggage. It was endearing, not just an eager pupil wrapped up in a furry tail.
"Darling, matters of the heart carry equal importance to the global calamities that so often threaten us. Neglecting either can bring untold ruin."
Prudence's words echoed with wisdom. She spoke with experience. Difficult not to, at her age and the path she had walked on.
She took a seat, the fabric of her dress mimicking the one of the comfortable chair. Prue removed her beige, suede gloves, resting them on the table beside the cup she then grasped with an exciting anticipation. The warm tea coated her tongue with the flavors she requested. She let out a satisfied breath as she took note of Sun Nao's description of his abilities. Not exactly magic in the traditional sense, though demi-gods had the benefit of having a plethora of other abilities bestowed naturally through magic. It was, after all, a primordial force, capable of being... anything.
Prue was about to comment, when Strange chimed in. She turned her head towards him, slightly tilted. Like a curious animal, trying to form a semblance of sense from the words he had just uttered. Now, the innate ability to speak to animals wasn't as common as many expected, yet...
"You need to get out more."
She sounded like something akin to a scolding mother. The Sorcerer Supreme and so limited in seeing what isn't directly in front of him. Perhaps a lesson was in order for more than just the aspiring prince. The took a mental note of it, saving it for later. Now focusing on one of the reasons why she returned to the Sanctum in the first place. Indeed, her business wasn't of vital importance yet. However, it was one that could soon grow into one, if left unchecked. Since Stephen made his interest clear, Prue decided to satisfy that.
"Very well. During my stay back in New Orleans, my beloved Cordelia spoke of, what could only amount to being, a travelling circus. Their tents simply appeared on the edge of the city, disappearing a few days later. We don't know what their goals were, their doings expertly masked by magic. Delia was certain it was dark magic. The aura of it directly clashing with that emanating from the academy."
Taking another sip of her tea, she cleared her mouth before continuing.
"Her investigation bore little fruit, unfortunately. The only thing she managed to gleam was the murmur of a name: Brother Night. The dreadful name notwithstanding, we found nothing on the man. Yet he is someone to keep an eye on. With magic seemingly as strong as he seems to possess, him and his followers could become a problem. I asked Cordelia to keep me informed, should she detect something similar elsewhere. Powerful dark magic, with the added step of concealing most of their goings? My concern is palpable."
Prue let the words settle for a moment.
"Yet I recommend caution and patience. We will invoke the others should this prove to be a larger problem. Until then, I will try to learn as much about him as I am able."

Sun Nao examined Prudence when she talked, he got the impression she was speaking from experience, yet, he did not reply and just gave her a small nod before returning his attention to the little marmoset. He was letting her climb onto his hand, grasping his fingers with bright eyes darting around the strange room. He did not pay any attention to his cup, being more focused on his new little friend. Collecting the small bowl with fruit and gently handing her the requested fruits, combined with a few low monkey noises passing between them.
"I think more people could do well to learn," muttered Sun Nao when Strange talked about his ability to speak with Monkeys. He said it to himself, so the words were not aimed at anyone else. The little monkey reached out and placed one of her tiny hands on his nose, pulling him back to reality. He looked into her small bright eyes, the mouth covered in fruit juice, and he smiled. "They belong in the forest, not inside a cage."
Still, he was flattered that the Doctor was talking so highly of him, it felt... nice. He could not remember the last time anyone gave him praise like that, even back when he did good in school, the most he would get was a good job... along with more exceptions to do great. As if perfection was a norm.
"A circus?" Sun Nao asked, surprisingly enough as it had not looked like he was paying much attention. " As if clowns were not creepy enough without the addition of dark magic." He made a pause, brow furrowed slightly, and he picked out a small grape from the bowl and held it up, examining it... "If you're friend, Cordelia, could sense this from the circus, maybe this Brother Night person sensed the same clash of aura as she did, but from the other side. Demons like to hide, and are quick to run away if they think themselves revealed." He popped the grape into his mouth and swallowed it before pulling out his smartphone. "Did they have any fliers? Posters? Advertisement of any kind?"

"Tell me about it."
Strange agreed with Pru's comment about getting out of the Sanctum. This place was a cage for him too, sometimes. He felt like he was festering within cold, dark walls. Solitude didn't work well for Strange, though it seemed to be his natural state. He watched Sun Nao feeding his monkey, and gave a soft smile. The kid had a huge heart, a real pure spirit. He frowned, perhaps to himself. Strange wished he had half of the innocence that Sun Nao did. Perhaps he wished someone would come and take him from these four walls, remove him from this place so he could feel some kind of freedom. Was that what he really wanted? Strange just didn't know anymore.
For now he nodded along to Pru, listening while brooding. A circus of dark magic, Brother Night... Strange had a serious look on his face as Pru finished, before he gave a little sigh, looking towards Sun Nao. He smiled again, giving Pru a knowing look. What did I tell you? The kid had some great intuition. A good heart and a sharp mind, two things that combined to create a strong hero.
"Hm. Well, this is certainly something to keep our eye on. I agree about not bothering the other members just yet. It may well be some wannabe dark-art practitioner wanting to use magic as a way to sell tickets and make some quick cash. I've met a few of them in my time."
He finished his coffee, waving the cup away and leaning back in his chair. Strange looked between Pru, and Sun Nao, and shrugged again.
"It's interesting, of course, but for now it doesn't sound like an issue for us. Tell Cordelia to keep us in the loop if she finds anything else out. Sun Nao, you're a young type. Can you scan social media to see what you can find about a vanishing circus? Or anyone calling themselves Brother Night?"

Prudence was warmed by the young lad's affinity and love for animals. Precious creatures that were too often used maliciously. She had never had a pet of her own, save for the familiars roaming around the academy grounds. Her doings kept her occupied enough to know that any pet in her family could feel a lack of care. Leaving any such intelligent creature in misery was not something she was willing to do. Perhaps she would have a future down the line where she could settle down, create her concoctions, revel in her culinary excellence, and have a four-legged friend along with her. A girl could dream.
Her brief daydreaming was cut short by her two (three, rather) attentive listeners. Brother Night rightfully didn't illicit much of a reaction for danger yet. Because there was none. At least none they could perceive. Whoever he was, he liked to keep his intentions to himself, despite his appearances across the Southern United States becoming more notable. In any case, her claims were credible enough to warrant a level of caution. Her compatriots spoke reasonably, with Prudence first meeting Strange's look with an approving one of her own.
"Oh sweet prince, Cordelia is my protégé, my successor, the light of my life. And most importantly of all, she is my daughter."
A voice carrying words that were glazed with pride, an indication of a long history and great love. It was the love of a mother that would not stop singing the praises of a young woman who became more than she was allowed to be. Not dissimilar to Prudence herself. Indeed, Delia was, in her eyes, one of the greats. She didn't need worldly feats to prove her mettle.
Prue's eyebrows rose slightly at acknowledgement of Sun's claim. A natural one to make. Aside from Cordelia, Miss Robichaux's housed several who showed either exceptional promise or raw power. It would be amiss of her to not consider the possibility of said circus recognizing either a threat or an opportunity. Either option filled Prudence with concern.
"If they were hiding, it's an amusing way to show it. For the time being, I'm certain Delia can handle them. Should they return with ill intent."
She hid her concern expertly. Mostly because her belief in her daughter was absolute. Anything Cordelia would do, is what Prudence would have done in her stead. And she was one to toot her own horn, so her faith was well-placed.
"As for advertisements, only a few inviting people to come and have their future read. Tarot cards with unparalleled accuracy, they claimed. In any case, I second Stephen's query. While they don't seem of the sort to use more modern applications, any option is worth investigating."
With that matter seemingly resolved, Prudence focused on her tea. A wonderful blend indeed. With its pleasant, relaxing flavours submerging her in bliss, Prudence decided to act on a thought she had lingering ever since the prince made her acquaintance. Strange had been tutoring him for a while. But what did he have to show for it? To be an apprentice was one matter. Darkwatch? Something else entirely. Their ranks had bolstered since the calamity that brought them together in the first place. Yet some had more of a place than others. Prudence's eccentric and warm behavior wasn't to be taken as a mask. She was gladly venomous when need be. That particularity extended to those she saw as... unworthy, if you will, to grace the ranks of the great sorcerers of their ages. Who those were exactly? Prue had made clear time and again, yet this wasn't her academy. It was a team consisting of those that could get things done, no matter the cost.
Prudence could only hope Sun Nao knew what that could entail.
"Now, how about we see some true magic at work? I yearn to see the succulent fruits of your labor at work, gentlemen."
A clear invite for a challenge. She didn't specify what it should entail or whether Sun Nao would face either of the elder magicians. That was entirely up to the mentor and mentee.
