Reptilian shifter: Kali has the ability to transform in to various different types of reptilians however it is dependant on her knowledge of the animal in question-she can't shift into an animal she doesn't know exists, and she must know the basic anatomy of the reptile in question in order to properly shift into them. when she shifts, she takes on all the qualities of the said animal, and with varying sizes different from the original animal be it larger or smaller. Kali doesn't do well in colder temperatures, having a slower reaction time, and movement speed compared to most people. while not as pronounced as it would be in true reptiles, it's enough that it's noticeable.

Kali doesn't have much in the way of weaponry but she fancies herself a musician and has herself her ukulele on her most of the time. She doesn't keep much else on her besides typical student items.

Kalina is of average height, standing at 5'5 there isn't much that makes the young brunette stand out. An average beauty, with fair, clear skin complete with Brown eyes, and wavy, thick, unruly hair that falls well past her waist. her figure is average if on the smaller side, with a bust size of 32B and there isn't much to her beside an embarrassingly large nose and ears though her greatest asset is said to be her smile, when she does smile. she has pearly white teeth, and it tends to brighten up the entire room, when she allows it.

used to warm weather, Kali tends to wear full bodied outfits and wears multiples layers in the attempt to keep warm. She tends to wear contrasting colors. wearing both dark and bright colors giving a stark contrast to her clothing. she likes to wear fun pattern, many floral in appearance and she always has a headband of sorts

Kalina often acts like she has a chip on her shoulder. She often feels the burden of responsibility, even if the responsibility isn't explicitly hers to bear. She has high expectations of herself and of others and can come off as standoffish in personality but she also can be rather kind and caring when one gets to know her. She's the type of person who will help whoever they can, whenever she is able. She'll carry the burden of the world and she'll do it with a smile on her face. She's introspective, steadfast in her morals and values and when she will not compromise on them. She knows who she is as a person, one who is confident in who she is and her abilities to a fault. She's a pioneer woman of change and improvement, always working on getting stronger, better with her abilities and fortifying her weaknesses where she is able. A no nonsense woman, who is always striving for self-improvement in both herself and others but also incredibly stubborn and not one to easily forgive another who has wronged her.

Kalina lives a fairly comfortable life, on the west coast of the states. as one of the few Hawaiians that have taken residence there, she grew up with the heritage, and with avid wonder of the Hawaiian islands and the traditions with which she grew up with. musically inclined, she loved playing her Ukelele whenever she could and her childhood was idyllic and uneventful. at last until her powers had emerged when she was around 10 years of age. originally, she kept it a secret, unsure how the family would react to her being a mutant but such a secret couldn't be hidden for very long. it was shortly after her 11th birthday when her secret was revealed, first to her mother who, to Kalinas pleasant surprise, was receptive to her having such abilities. moreover, she believed her daughter was blessed the gods. Specifically Mo'o. with this revelation, the parents deepened their daughters education in the mythologies of the Hawaiian islands, pulling her out of her public school that she was attending, and started to homeschool her.
there was a dichotomy with how Kalina was raised, now. she was told to be wary of those on the outside as they wouldn't understand her god given gifts and there would be many yet who would be terrified of her due to a lack of understanding of who she is or what she can do. feeling more isolated from her family due to the now, increased pressure placed on her, Kalina withdrew as much as she could, learning about the reptiles around her home and reading about some of the native hawaiian ones to occupy her time, feeling a connection to them which then showed that she could transform not into just a lizard, but into other reptiles as well.
Soon enough, she would catch the attention of the Xaviers school for mutants. surprised and thrilled to learn that there are others like her out there that have similar powers, she was eager to go, and meet others her age that she could finally connect with. others who would understand her, and could help her deepen her understanding with the powers that she was given. Her parents had a harder time with it, unwilling to send their daughter off to school to the other side of the country, believing her to be too young to be of on her own. Eventually, they would relent, allowing her to be sent off to "boarding school" when she turned 15 years of age, and it was with great reluctance that Kalina agreed, waiting for the day of her 15 birthday which took to long to come, in her opinion. the day arrived, eventually, and she was thus shipped off to the school, bright eyed and excited for this next chapter of her life.
