Tsukiko looked at the owl on Eda's shoulder, she'd given a chuckle at the being wise comment, but the woman's staff becoming an animal was a fascinating change. Magic must be abundant on these boiling islands of hers if people from there were carrying magic staffs that could turn into living creatures. She definitely had to check it out sometime.
"Can't really argue with that logic I guess... so your staff is also a living owl?" Tsukiko inquired, she was curious for the obvious reasons, but she wondered if getting a staff companion would be a good call for her as well. Sure she dual wielded keyblades and didn't have a hand free by default, but it might make sense to have a staff for when she was doing her magic stuff, maybe swapping a keyblade out for it... she intended to give one of them back to it's true owner one day anyway. Lots of things to consider there... but also just having a little animal friend might be nice.

Ah, to be the uninitiated into the ways of her world. She was proud of this fact and would share it graciously. "Owlbert here is a Palisman; a witch's lifelong companion and font of great magical power!" she spoke in a grandiose tone with arms raised up, playing up the role of a Palisman. She then relaxed and dropped her arms with a shrug. "But mostly, they're just cute little guys you keep around for the company." She brought up a finger to nudge Owlbert who rubbed its head against it with an appreciative hoot.
"But hey; that's about enough of what you'll get outta me for now, kid." she took her staff and pointed it squarely in the face of Tsukiko near her nose. "If ya wanna learn more, you're gonna have to pay a visit AFTER business hours." she smirks before setting her staff back to its original position."Can't go spoiling all the wonder at once, can I?"

Tsukiko nodded, here wasn't the best place for impromptu lessons anyway. The prospect of a palisman appealed greatly to her though, it'd be a big boon to her magical ability... and it would be really great to not be so alone anymore. The nights were the hardest... good sleep was hard to come by too, maybe having a little cute friend could ease that particular burden
"I'll be sure to swing by and visit sometime soon then. I'll bring snacks for the cutie pie too... and treats for your owl? Assuming he eats of course." Tsukiko said "I guess I should let you get back to hustling though. this junk won't sell itself"

"You'd be surprised! I made a puppet talk once and it sold itself! Then again, it could already talk and I just wanted someone to take it off my hands!" she sighed wistfully with a smile. "Cute kid. Terrible liar. Had to improvise selling him since his nose grew every time he lied. Hope he found his way home...anyways...you go do your training thing or whatever it is the kids do here." she waved her hand at Tsukiko and gripped the charm on her chest. Once Tsukiko was leaving, she'd take out a flask of glowing yellow-orange liquid that she immediately popped the cork on and drank it all down.
She breathed a sigh of relief and smiled as Tsukiko departed, one hand on her cheek. Maybe this place wasn't so bad after all...still. She placed Owlbert back on his staff, making him turn back into a wooden figure. She then spun the staff about and went back to hustling her junk. "And here, folks, we have a genuine human outdated reference!"
