The halls of Dark Haven were as busy as ever. Patients of all sorts came for everything from annual check-ups to serious illnesses or injuries. Nurses, doctors, and staff rushed from room to room. Security guards wandered and kept watch both in the halls and from the shadows. Everything was running like clockwork, as per usual.
Way from all the chaos, Felix sat in his office filling out updates on his last pacient's file. He had no more planned appointments for the day, but was on call if something major happened. His door was open so anyone could easily walk in to grab him, despite Raven constantly telling him to keep his door shut and locked when he was in the office in case they got discovered and raided. He would rather be easily accessible in case of an emergancy, and trusted his security (mostly Raven) to keep him and everyone else safe. Besides, the sounds of the hospital running its course soothed him. It was calming and enjoyable just knowing that all his plans and hard work had become so prosperous.
As he finished typing up the updates the Good Doctor leaned back in his chair and stretched, causing multiple pops from his spine and knuckles. A yawn escaped his lips, as it had been a rather long week. He hadn't been getting much sleep lately, but that's the life of an on call doctor. He had to be ready to help if anything was needed. Anyone who survived medical school knew how to run months on minimal sleep. (Another habit that Raven constantly got on his case about). Checking the clock on his laptop, it was right around the time that the registered clinic they used as a front was closing. Dinner time was coming up, nurses would be crouding the cafeteria to get meals for the in-patients. It was probably a good idea to grab so food before that.
Felix COULD go to a restaurant near by. He could even go back to his and Raven's appartment and make himself something to eat that would be much better than hospital food (even if the food at his hospital was plenty better than your average one, that still was a pretty low bar to beat). However, this was yet another Raven rant as he hardly ever left the hospital if he was on call, and he was almost ALWAYS on call. He only ever went home to sleep for a few hours and then came straight back. Since they lived only a short walk down the road, it meant he was out of the hospital MAYBE twenty hours a week. He even often fell asleep at his desk, hence why he often had back pain, but it didn't bother him much.
Making his way to the cafeteria, he cheerfully waved and greeted everyone he passed. He considered popping his head into the Tech and Security room to say hello as he passed it, but figured Asa didn't want to be bothered by him so just sighed and continued on. Hassle and bustle never stopped, and that was just how Felix liked it. Not that he wanted people to be hurt or sick, but that they had somewhere to go when they needed it. It filled him with joy and pride to know that thanks to him and his team, at least a small part of the society was being put back as it should be. It was up to other so called "villains" to make big changes, but he could at least provide this much.
