C'mon Thayne. Say something... Tarah seems quite out of it at the moment, it made sense, right? She always got him out of trouble, as much trouble as they both got in. She was always ready to fight for him, but this is a cold streak, right? To her, it must be, given the way she stares into her cup. First with the incident at this 'Wheatleytown' place, then being tricked by the cops, then those guys at C-Sec kept the remote, and now, well now...it'll be fine. He just has to find the words to cheer her up. It'll be okay! They just found a good place to get water and shade, now they'll just have to keep looking around this big city. Maybe there's another orphanage, one that is in one piece. Maybe they can find some friends! There's other bots in the city, although most are quite different from them. You know, perhaps they coul-...no not really, its okay, they'll figure it out, he just had to sa- "GHAK"Thayne flinched as Tarah seemingly choked on her cup of water, his trembling hands barely keeping his own upright. Tarah retched until she spat out what appeared to be a...a very small coin, made of some metal that wasn't gold. "Ugh, great, I thought I wouldn't have to look at it up here", Tarah complained, tossing the little bit of water left on her cup onto the pavement before scooping up another cup of water from the overdecorated water pump behind her. "Uh...should I pick it up?", Thayne suggested, scooting closer to her on his seat, and nudging towards the coin. "If someone threw it away it's not worth picking it up", suggested Tarah, receiving a deflated "oh". Tarah leaned back and took another scoop of water from the fountain they both sat at the edge of, this time making sure there was no funny business inside her cup. She said that out of practicality, they hadn't stopped that low, not yet. "It's...alright Tarah, take all the ti-!", Thayne halted himself with a whimper, prompting Tarah to dejectedly look up, what was it going to be today?

Had the twins taken sense of their surroundings earlier, they may well have been aware of this person before they were upon them... perhaps not. She moved quickly, and more than that, quietly, for someone who had clearly been sprinting through the park. For one reason or another, this person had stopped at the fountain, just shy of Tarah and Thayne's squatting. She weren't dressed like C-Sec, or Marcus' thugs, or Omega, or... she was dressed like a person living in the City, with a black tanktop and white cargo pants. She wore red fingerless gloves and slip-ons, had tattoos over her right eye and right arm... and carried a small courier bag around her torso. All of this, and there wasn't an ounce of hostility coming off of her. Only curiosity, as she continued to study the steambots with a reserved expression. She spoke softly, but assertively. "...hey."

Thayne was less hesitant after the shock of failing the spotcheck, timidly moving his right hand up and curling it into what only passingly could be referred to as a wave.
Tarah, on the other hand, seemed content with seething. The light behind her left eye seemed to tilt only slightly upwards as she stared at a non-descript human in this city of honestly quite describable humans. Once glance to her right confirmed that Thayne, despite looking as endearing as always, was very quietly checking this person for concealed arms, if he didn't feel threatened, it couldn't be so bad. She leaned back and poured the water back at the fountain, scooping another cup, then putting her hand in it to fetch a coin as if she knew it would be lurking there. Tarah blew some hot air onto it, which drew her brother's attention back to her, then proceeded to flip it up high towards the stranger, not to hit them, but to hover it in front of them for them to catch it, if they were so inclined anyways, streetwise divination, or something.
"...Hay is for horsepower", Tarah dismissed the attempt at small chat, though she did not take her attention off this stranger to take her water. Sensing her sister wasn't feeling it, Thayne nudged ever so slightly forward and well then did little but to look to either side briefly, as if he was mustering up the words to politely ask this person to move.

The woman watched the steambots. She was well over twice their size. She looked quite fit for an ordinary human. And yet no matter how hard either of them tried to make it so, there wasn't an ounce of hostility to be found. Her presentation was quite bare - there weren't any weapons to be found. The only thing that passed for concealment was the sleek pick of metal nestled into her ear. Everyone in the City had one of those things, from one carrier or another.
The woman's demeanor changed for an instant once Tarah launched the coin up at her. Her arm moved quickly, catching the coin between her thumb and index finger with pinpoint precision. Upon closer inspection, it had a different mint from the usual visage of the esteemed Mayor on one side and the Assembly on the other. Rather, it depicted a heavyset robot with a menacing underbite, and a symbol on the other side that the twins didn't recognize. Most of the coins in this fountain were like that.
Her attention moved from the coin back to the steambot closest to her - Thayne, now. She gingerly got down on her knee to meet him at eye level. She offered the coin to Thayne for him to see for himself. "Got any more like this?"

As the stranger approached Thayne, Tarah's head tracked her hand very closely. Thayne didn't budge to reach out for it, though he seemed curious about it the unusual mint he had first glossed over. He had, after all, looked at the correct one quite carefully.
The steambot opted to, instead, try to scoop another coin from the fountain. His fortune seemed to be better when it came to taking water, which conversely made it worse at scooping coins. Tarah glanced at the gesture with much less interest, noticing the different mint only consolidated her assessment of its worthlessness. "Go fish", Tarah suggested, and/or suggested that she didn't, not at hand of course. Thayne did manage to pick one up, though staring at it up close eased his curiosity into discomfort. "What do you want?", Tarah said after giving a side-eye to her brother. It wasn't even a hostile question, strangers always want something, friends mostly want something, that's how things work, might as well cut to the chase.

The woman turned her attention from Thayne to Tarah, maintaining her disaffected airs. Her expression also remained even, as she took a moment to study Tarah, looking for nothing in particular. ”Some help. You look like you could use some, too.”
She waited a beat, then turned her head, looking at (supposedly) nothing in particular, though she seemed quite attentive to the so-called nothing before returning her gaze to Tarah. Suddenly, there was a business card between the woman's fingers, offered towards either of them to claim. It depicted the head of a wide-faced cartoon pig holding a Glasgow grin, surrounded by miscellaneous bottles and cocktails. Three superimposed orange letters took up the rest of the card surface, trailing off with smaller letters to form words: Hip Hog Heaven.
”You know the place? Its on Seventh. We can chat there.”

There was very little movement in the steambot's visage, only her ever eager mouth slowly closing, squeakily closing shut. Favors for favors, a familiar language.
As subtle a cue as it was, it beckoned Thayne to approach. Tarah was the one that got distracted this time, trying to pinpoint what drew this stranger's attention, so Thayne was the one to seamlessly reach over for the business card as if it was routine. The item danced in the steambot's sharp fingers as he inspected both sides, no wonder he was unphased by its sudden appearance. The twins exchanged glares for a moment, and as usual, it was Tarah who broke away and responded. "No, we don't know", Tarah answered honestly, the card disappeared in Thayne's hand with an equally discreet flicker. "And I'm told I shouldn't drink 'the good stuff' at my age, which is dumb", she added, unsure of what that 'the good stuff' even was, it just sounded silly to not give some tasty beverage to children.
"We're off", Tarah stood up without anything else to be told, while Thayne gave the stranger one last look before following his sister, both of them abandoning their cups. Tarah seemed reluctant to give a conclusive answer, and Thayne isn't ever much for words, but the Seventh sure was in that direction...
