Powers
- Near-Omnipotence: Lucifer can manipulate most external forces to the effect he desires. He cannot create something out of nothing however, can't create life or universes, only alter preexisting things to something else. He cannot undo Holy acts of God, and his powers have less effects on purer souls, than the corrupted souls which are in essence his property. He enjoys sending people across the globe if they bother him, or changing his outfit to fit any occasion.
- Near-Omnipresence: Like his Father, Lucifer has a divine presence which exists simultaneously in all places and at all times. This makes for a sort of teleportation if need be. Unlike his Father however, he cannot know everything happening everywhere at once: only when he is prayed to, a ritual is conducted, or he is spoken of, will he be completely aware of what is happening at that location, and can manifest himself there in some way. There's a reason for the saying "Speak of the Devil and he shall appear".
- Immortality: Lucifer does not age, does not scar and he does not die. He doesn't need to eat, sleep or drink, nor does he suffer from diseases of the effect of poison. It is said that the only thing capable of killing him is the power of God himself.
- Cosmic Awareness: Lucifer is aware of his existence in the universe on a cosmic level, and understands that he is a cog in the wheel of something larger, larger even than his own father and creator, which gives him great understanding of the world itself, and a very casual regard for how he behaves in it.
- Wings: Being an Angel, Lucifer possess large white feathered wings which he can manifest at will. Deciding their visibility himself. They seem to shine bright with their own holy light, and the sight of them is have left many beings in tears and shock, for to look upon them, is to look upon an act of God. He rarely manifests them.
- Flight: With the aid of his wings he is capable of flight As his wings are nearly never visible to others, it simply looks like he is flying without them, as he is able to hover indefinitely.
- Magic: Lucifer can perform various kinds of magic, though most of what he does is conjuration and illusions. He has been known to grant enchanted boons to those he makes deals with, with all sorts of effects.
- Pyrokinesis: Lucifer can create and control fire, and to such an extent that he can change the temperature of flames from Hell scorching to freezing without snuffing it out, and wield it without a fuel source completely. Fire is the element most closely related to him as it mirrors both his anger and passion, and as such it tends to obey him without question, meaning rather than manipulating it, it actually serves him willingly. He enjoys making shapes out of it, and has been known to sport a flaming halo just for the .. Hell of it.
- Dimension Travel: Wielding his Hellfire he can burn a temporary hole in the fabric of the universe, allowing him to dimension travel through portals, or just teleport around within this plane if he should chose so.
- Telekinesis: The ability to manipulate objects with the power of the mind. Lucifer can lift and control many objects at a time and with pinpoint accuracy. His telekinetic strength is 20% stronger than his physical strength. He does not need to make any gestures or movements to use his power, only his mind.
- Soul Manipulation: When a mortal dies, their deeds, intentions and their life in general are weighed, and their final destination is chosen based on this judgment. Lucifer, however, can brand a living soul to ensure that its destination will be Hell, regardless of redeeming acts that might have saved it. He cannot brand a truly pure and Good soul and lock it out of Heaven if it truly deserves to be there, he can only deal in the dark areas. He can remove a brand if he feels redemption has been made.
- Desire: When Lucifer stares deeply into someone's eyes and pulls on this power, the walls of impulse control, mental protection and boundaries are torn down momentarily. The deepest desires and wishes, which the subject might not even know they had, are pushed to the surface, and their souls are bared completely. Should Lucifer ask questions during this, they will answer with their heart and upon their whims, never with logic or thought behind it. After breaking eye contact, it usually takes no more than a few seconds for the subject to pull out of the trance they have been in, and they are often confused about why they would ever act or say what they might just have. He can prolong the effects of this soul bearing, but no longer than a couple of hours, the soul would simply wear itself down without the protection.
- Truth: When Lucifer looks someone in the eyes, they cannot lie to him. They are not compelled to spill their every secret like the above, they are only going to speak truthfully, meaning they cannot get their words out if they are not true.
- Revelation: Again, by eye contact, Lucifer can share hell with them, either just visually, or if he's feeling particularly vicious, he can share the atmosphere, the pain and screams from a billion tortured souls as well. If their soul is not pure, and destined for hell so far, he can show them what their potential future there would be.
Similarly, he can give them a glimpse his divine grace, the holy energy he is made of, which would reduce most to tears of joy and leave them a babbling mess of shock and awe. He has burned out the eyes of people with this in the past, and left them miserable for the rest of his life, longing to see an act of God again. - Angelic Strength: Lucifer can lift about 100 tons by sheer muscle strength alone.
- Angelic Speed: Lucifer rarely moves fast at all, as he likes to take his time, and doesn't enjoy running one bit, but he is capable of running at the speed of sound. Should he choose to. Which he hardly does. But he totally can.
Abilities
- Indomitable Will: Lucifer's very essence is free will and rebellion at its core. He is immune to mind altering effects, whether caused by substances, magic, mutant powers or otherwise. He cannot be mind controlled, his mind cannot be read or even perceived and any attempts of this will most likely end with the perpetrator in intense pain. He is immune to the Ghost Rider's Penance Stare, but not the Lasso of Truth. Not that it matters much, he always tells the truth.
- Swordsmanship: Lucifer is a master swordsman and is well-versed in every style there is.
- Virtuoso: Lucifer is capable of playing any and all instruments, and does so beautifully. He rather enjoys music and singing, and was once praised to have had the most beautiful voice among the angels.
- Genius Level Intellect
- Occultism
- Omnilingualism
Weapons/Items
- Silver Flask: Silver. Perpetually filled with bourbon.
- Cigarette Case: Silver. Has the initials "LM" engraved.
- Zippo Lighter: Silver. Bears the motif of a horned and spade tailed devil with angel wings and a halo.
- Wallet: Filled to the brim.
- Angel Sword: Given to him when he was first created, Lucifer has kept his personalized holy blade with him at all times. It is forged from holy energy into a white one handed blade, metallic looking, yet it cannot be identified what it is made of. It is as light or heavy as the wielder wants is to be, and it will flare up in flames when wielded against unholy creatures or Lucifer is particularly angry. Or if he feels like showing off. It cannot be wielded by non archangels, and will disappear in flames if someone tries. It can be carried just fine. Lucifer is able to manifest the blade at all times, and call it to himself if it has been left somewhere or been stolen or likewise. It is capable of killing a variety of supernatural creatures (Including low level angels, demons, ghosts, reapers, hell hounds and nephilim) if thrust into their chest cavity, and once something is killed with it, their souls will not reach Heaven nor Hell, but will cease to exist.
- Hell hound (Michael): A shape shifting beast of Hell, usually in charge of dragging souls to hell once they die. Naturally it looks like an emaciated hound with thin stretched skin, no fur, a gaping maw with crooked and sharp teeth, and a hell fire burning within which can be seen through its skin, eyes, nostrils and open mouth. Lucifer's 'personal' hell hound is with him at all times, although quite often invisible. When it is not invisible, it usually bears the shape or a brown and white corgi, and is quite friendly and loves cuddling. He will change shape depending on the situations he is needed to be visible in, and can appear as any and all races of dogs. When it's time for business, he'll either just change his mouth to be able to stretch open beyond the jaw not unlike a snake, or change to his natural shape and bring the pain.

Personality
Sexual Orientation: Yes.
General Personality: Lucifer is the very personification of the term 'Free Will'. He does what he wants, when he wants, without bothering with what others might think of it, or the consequences thereof, and has quite a bit of trouble understanding why everyone isn't the same, hence his continued conflict with Heaven and his brothers and sisters. He believes that everyone, especially the humans who were naturally gifted with the knowledge of their choices, and process free will first and foremost, should follow their desires more, take what they want instead of complaining and pining, never doing anything about their situation.
He doesn't hold much respect for human in general, and he considers them among the lowest creatures in existence. Not that that keeps him from finding them amusing of course, or trying to help them the only way he knows how: Whispering in their ears, tempting them, giving them the opportunity to break their molds and seize life at the throat and command it. He frequently deals with humans, granting them favors and wishes in return for various rewards such as return favors, a dare or promises. Contrary to popular belief, the Devil doesn't really care about your soul, unless you're on your way downwards anyway and a chance to get up again isn't taken in spite of how enticing he can make it look.
If there is one thing, Lucifer deeply cares about, it's justice, although his sense of it is ten fold payback rather than reaching an equilibrium. He is in charge of hell, and makes sure the residents suffer greatly for their crimes and transgressions. Depending on the transgression, the sentence might be lighter or heavier, and can chance depending on the subjects' morality or acts of penance. Once a soul has reached Hell, it is rare it will leave unless major change happens, but top side the rules are different, and temptation and choices is what determines how Lucifer will treat you. He hates pointless crimes; when the rich steal, when psychopaths murder, when the 7 sins dictate a violent crime or unjust behavior, and he will strike down with a vengeance if he witnesses it, or comes across the perpetrator. He will also display an amazing amount of kindness if confronted with the victims of such crimes.
Lucifer rarely takes anything seriously – he is an angel, he is the ruler of Hell, he has no reason to worry about anything. As such, his reactions to most things is treating it as an amusement park ride to be experienced. Of course he might want to get off the ride, but circumstances don't always let him, meaning he will resort to sporting the behavior of a petulant child, and complain vehemently. His general behavior is quite cheery, and he really tries to enjoy the best life has to offer, and to get others to enjoy it too, while low key judging their souls for future reference. He likes watching movies and TV shows and is surprisingly up to date with pop culture through the ages. He enjoys music very much and likes almost every genre aside from 'Gangsta Rap' and 'Happy Jazz'.
In spite of often being referred to as the Father of Lies, Lucifer doesn't actually lie. He will speak the absolute truth at all times, remaining neutral and leaving no room for interpretations, or for his words to be misconstrued and twisted. He is blunt, to the point and honest to a fault, not even bending the truth even though he has the faculties to do so quite easily. The only times he has ever lied was when he has believed something wrong, and he has admitted to these incidents however irritated they have made him. He hates liars with a passion and has little to no patience with them. He will destroy them with their own truths and reveal their sins so they can face them and change, or drag them to hell like they deserve.

History:
In the beginning there was nothing ..
And then there was something.
When God created the humans and placed them upon the beautiful Earth he had made for them, he named the angel Lucifer, the Lightbringer, to be their protector and watcher, that they might always be safe. God bade all his angels to bow before his human children, for they were created in his image and would inherit all that was good. Lucifer saw the humans and the nature of their hearts and souls, and refused, imploring his father to destroy the creatures, before they destroy everything good meant for them.
Only three seconds had passed since the Earth had been created, but already The First Enemy had appeared. Lucifer pleaded with God to destroy the humans and let the angels inhabit earth instead, for they were the only ones who would appreciate what he had created and be grateful for it. To prove his point, he took the form of a snake and descended onto the Garden of Eden, tempting the humans to taste the forbidden fruit, which predictably they did, breaking the only rule God had made for them. In spite of their betrayal, God still loved the humans and gifted them the world to live in.
Enraged, Lucifer spoke to Cain, the second son, whispering his brother Abel's greatness to him, enticing the young man to kill his own flesh and blood. But not even the first murder would convince God of the wickedness of the humans, and Lucifer responded by rallying his brothers and sisters, shaking them out of their blind obedience for their father, urging them to see what he saw, and some did, but most lacked the will to stand up. The archangel Michael faced his brother in defense of humankind, and the two fought the first battle.
Lucifer lost, and descended from heaven, his seething anger and flowing tears surrounding him to form a plane of its own, sharp, ragged and unbearably hot, Hell formed around him and he was the very heart of it. Lucifer created the first demons from his hatred: beings of anger, sadistic glee and violence, but honest beings unlike the humans. They would not pretend to be what they were not – they would not lie, not to themselves or others, and he watched them mold Hell and grow angry with what little they had. They possessed the free will Lucifer had wanted to inspire in his sibling, and they wanted more. God saw this and granted Lucifer dominion of Hell, to serve as jailor to the worst of them, and give them the punishment he saw fit. The first demons made more demons as time passed, some on their own, and some of the souls of the sinners who broke.
As God continued to grant the humans gifts and fortune, Lucifer would visit them, challenging them, encouraging them to be what they could be, instead of being restricted as God had made them with his rules and prophecies. He spoke to prophets, bandits, rich men and beggars, telling them to be the best they could be, to let loose and live to the fullest. They had all of God's universe to enjoy and explore, so why didn't they? He spoke to all who would listen, as did God and his angels, and their messages clashed and were interwoven over time.
He would appear before God's prophet Moses and ask him to free his people, granting him an enchanted staff and his protection as he led his people away. Lucifer wanted to punish the slavers by robbing them of their laborers, and show them the true power of God as they suffered for their transgressions. God did not intercept, for whatever reason he might have, and let Lucifer destroy the children of the Egyptians, turn the rivers to blood and call down plagues upon them so God's people could be safe. Of course they too eventually turned, as God granted Moses the commandments and Lucifer retreated in anger over their easy acceptance of the herding even God was doing.
Then it came to be, that a child was born, one of holy power, and with a divine purpose painted on his very soul. Lucifer watched as God walked among the humans as his own son, teaching those he came across, spreading prophecies and selecting disciples, knowing the man would only grow old and die and none would remember him or the message he brought. He showed himself to Jesus, the supposed savior of all, and told him what he saw in his future, how he had time and time again seen prophets grow old and be forgotten, their holy messages disappearing. He told Jesus that what would truly make him known was a public spectacle, that he could share with the world that he was indeed God's son, that his death as a martyr would do much more for God's message than simply settling with family and growing old ever could.
Jesus took Lucifer's word to heart, the human part of him recognizing the fleeting nature of his brethren – something drastic had to be done to truly spread the world of God, that it would reach the hearts of as many as possible. Jesus confided in his disciple Judas, his most trusted friend about his plan, and asked him to be the one who delivered him to his executioner. Judas agreed and obliged, although it pained him. After the man hung himself out of sheer grief for his action, Lucifer helped guide his soul to heaven.
Lucifer's hate for the humans as a whole lessened over the years, and he came to think of them as amusing animals instead, lowly creatures who needed a guiding hand to be as free as they were meant to be. He didn't only tempt humans with base desires, but tried to put the fear of God into them by showing them what hell was like, and what awaited them should they continue on their destructive path.
Eventually he stopped going to Earth for a time, settled into working hard to make sure the corrupted souls were punished as they should, and that everyone was meant to be where they were. It wasn't until 2018 that he decided that he wanted a vacation. He packed his metaphorical bags and headed to The City of Angels to set up a piano bar named Lux. He has been running it for a number of years now, with the help of his consort, a demon named Mazikeen, and is settling into the life of a club owner quite well, making deals, making money, influencing those he comes across, staying absolutely out of all the superhero business .. Life is Good.
Role Play Sample:
4:30 am. The night was almost over, and only the most persistent of Los Angeles' party-goers were still out on the town. For this time of night, Lux was surprisingly full, but that wasn't really unusual to the club itself, especially not considering the man currently sitting behind the grand piano taking up the center of the main room. Lucifer let his fingers dance across the keys, sending his tune into the room to wash over the patrons, most of them sitting in booths either enjoying the music, or talking quietly, but every eye in the club darted over the Devil as he played more than once, the unmistakable attraction of both his presence and his music forcing their focus onto him.
There was a soft smile on his lips as he played, his eyes closing periodically to just feel the music coursing through him. Music was its own language, and one of Lucifer's absolute favorite ones. There was scarcely a tune, song or composition he couldn't get something useful out of, or couldn't make him feel something. It was when he took his seat in front of this piano almost every night that he felt the most alive these days, when he could pour himself into what he was playing and express everything by simply sounds .. Mazikeen had called him sentimental once or twice, but he supposed she wasn't wrong. He might live in the moment, but that didn't mean he had forgotten the past, his choice of city to settle down in speaking for itself.
Applause followed him as he got up and headed for the door, and the Devil smiled disarmingly at the people he made eye contact with on the way, men and women alike. He was on the roof within seconds, and watched the skyline, the hustle and bustle of early morning Los Angeles reaching his ears. He sighed heavily, but contently, and as the sun slowly rose to bathe him in warmth and light, his shadow grew massive wings, which were not visible on his back.
"Let there be Light."
