- Enhanced Physiology: Kurt's physiology grants him a number of abilities beyond that of a normal human being:
- Camouflage: Because of his indigo fur and his connection to the light-bending attributes of the dimension through which he teleports, Kurt is able to more easily blend into shadows around him.
- Flexible Bone Structure: Kurt's bone structure grants him incredible flexibility. He can remain in a crouched position for a long time and perform contortionist feats without causing any damage to his spine or joints.
- Micro-suction Discs: Kurt can stick to objects with the surface of his hands and feet, allowing him to easily scale surfaces; however, these micro-suction discs do not work on frictionless surfaces.
- Night Vision: Kurt posses a marked degree of heightened night vision compared to a normal human, being able to more easily see in the dark.
- Prehensile Tail: Kurt's tail acts almost like an additional appendage. He is capable of using it to grab onto objects with ease and use it to support his body weight. It is also strong enough to lift an adult completely off the ground. It is deft enough for him to use in combat to wield a third sword, or as a blunt object.
- Superhuman Agility and Reflexes: Kurt's agility, balance, bodily coordination, and reflexes are beyond that of a human body's natural limits allowing him to quickly react to stimuli and even dodge automatic fire.
- Camouflage: Because of his indigo fur and his connection to the light-bending attributes of the dimension through which he teleports, Kurt is able to more easily blend into shadows around him.
- Master Acrobat: Kurt is an Olympic-class acrobat thanks to years of intense training in the circus and with the X-Men.
- Master Combatant: Kurt is very skilled in hand-to-hand combat and has been trained in martial arts. He is deadlier with a blade, preferring lighter fencing blades and rapiers.
- Medic: Like many X-Men, Kurt has been trained as a combat medic, capable of patching up minor injuries and keeping his teammates stable until they can receive medical care in the worst of emergencies.
- Multilingual: Kurt is fluent in English, French, Spanish, Italian, Romani, Russian, Japanese, and his native tongue German.
- Teleportation: Kurt's primary mutant ability is to teleport himself, the clothes he is wearing, and within limits a certain amount of additional mass which is in contact with him. He teleports by displacing himself into the Brimstone Dimension, traveling through it, and then returning to his own dimension at a certain distance from his point of departure. He consciously determines his point of return. The entire process occurs so quickly that Kurt is unaware of being in the Brimstone Dimension at all. Kurt guides himself through the Brimstone Dimension by a subconscious, natural direction-finding sense. Although Kurt controls his teleportation ability with his conscious mind, his power to teleport is not psionic. Rather it is the result of an unknown biochemical/biophysical reaction which he triggers mentally. When he disappears in teleporting, Kurt leaves behind smoke with a stench reminiscent of burning brimstone. This is a small portion of the atmosphere of the Brimstone Dimension that escapes while the aperture is open. His teleportation is invariably accompanied by the muffled sound of imploding air rushing to fill the vacuum left where Kurt's body was, creating his signature *BAMF* sound.
Kurt's powers automatically displace liquids and gases when he arrives in the course of a teleportation; however his powers will not displace solids, putting him at risk for materializing inside solid matter. As a consequence, Kurt typically teleports only to places he has been to before or knows the layout of, or line-of-sight teleportation (even though his actual range is much further). Kurt's intuitive spatial awareness allows him to track his movements instinctively and with greater precision than the average person, helping him to pinpoint locations for a "blind" teleport. Kurt's momentum is retained throughout the process of teleportation: he arrives with whatever amount of inertia he left with. For example, if he were falling from a great height, he could not teleport himself towards the ground in order to save himself; he would land with the same velocity that he teleported with. He can subtract this inertia by teleporting short distances upwards (as though taking two steps back for everyone forward).
Prior to his recent prolonged exposure to to the Brimstone Dimension, Kurt found it harder and more exhausting the further he teleported. It was easier for him to teleport north to south than it was from east to west. After his prolonged exposure to the Brimstone, he has been able to teleport upwards of 7,900 miles without suffering exhaustion. He is uncertain of his new upper maximum as there is no distance on Earth for him to safely test it, and teleporting into the void of space to test his range presents obvious risks and challenges as he still need to know where he is going. While teleporting, Kurt can bring others with him. He has not tested his upper limits, but has been able to bring two people with him with minor drain on his stamina. The people he is teleporting with must be in physical contact with him, or they will not teleport alongside of him. He can use this ability offensively by grappling an enemy and teleporting them in a series of rapid jumps. The strain of these rapid jumps can exhaust foes without superhuman endurance or whom are not used to teleporting with Kurt.- Beacon Teleportation: Entities from the Brimstone dimension act as trans-spatial beacons for Kurt's ability to teleport. He can teleport to within their vicinity without risk of materializing within solid matter. If the being from the Brimstone's spatial signature is strong enough, Kurt can even teleport between dimensions to them. The opposite is also true for the entities from the Brimstone dimension and Kurt. When Kurt and enough of his paternal siblings gather, they can be used by the entities trapped within the Brimstone dimension as a means of escaping. Those entities from within the Brimstone Dimension who have escaped could use Kurt as a beacon as well, sensing him and teleporting to him no matter where he is.
- Subconscious Spatial Awareness: Kurt has a limited subconscious extrasensory ability that helps prevent him from teleporting himself to where he would manifest in solid matter. This mainly prevents him from teleporting to where an appendage would get stuck in solid matter, and helps him instinctively gauge the distance of his teleportation. A side effect of this extrasensory ability is that he can sense the teleportation of other beings within a couple city blocks.
- Weaknesses: Despite his abilities, Kurt is just as susceptible to disease and physical injury as any ordinary human. Because of his Neyaphem heritage, the blood of Cheyarafim, such as Angel, makes the injury worse instead of healing him. Despite the range that he can teleport, the biggest weakness of his ability is his need to know where he is teleporting. If he can't visualize where he is going, he runs a deep risk for potentially injuring himself or his passengers should he be teleporting with someone else.
Weapons/Items:
- Image Inducers: Kurt is in possession of image inducers, which project a hologram over his physical body, allowing to him to disguise his appearance. The inducers look like a watch, giving a convenient explanation for anyone who asks about it. Having come to accept his appearance and no longer caring what the general public thinks of it, Kurt rarely, if ever, uses these devices anymore.
- Kurt is in possession of a collection of rapiers and fencing foils. He rarely carries them except when going on a mission, or when a situation would potentially call for his need of them.
Appearance

Physical Appearance:
Unlike some mutants, Kurt cannot walk around without his true nature being known. His very physical appearance distinguishes him as being not a Homo Sapien. His skin is covered in a soft, indigo blue fur, which often makes people think his very skin is blue. He stands at 5'9" (1.75m) and weighs 161 pounds (73.03 kg). He is very lithe and muscular from the very physically intense lifestyle he has lived. Kurt's hands and feet are distinctly different from the average person. He possesses only two fingers and a thumb on each hand, and his feet simply have two large toes. His softly glowing eyes are completely yellow with no visible pupil or iris, and he has pronounced fang-like canine teeth. His prehensile tail is 3'6" (1.07m) long and tapers to a point at its end. Kurt has thick shaggy jet black hair. Its often tousled and unruly, adding to his wild and untamed appearance. He usually keeps it medium length, framing his face. His facial structure is more angular and pronounced that of a typical human, and his ears are very pointed. The combination of many of those physical features give him a very demonic appearance in the eyes of many.
Clothing and Armor:
Because of his anatomy, many of Kurt's civilian clothes are custom. He wears a wide variety of clothing depending on what he will be doing that day. He tends to prefer 'louder' clothing that leans into his flamboyant and debonair nature. Sometimes he does wear clothing to make himself look more mysterious simply for the fun of it. Generally his clothing tends to be loose fitting, ensuring he has a full range of motion. Generally his outfits tend to consist of t-shirts and pants with jackets and coats, but he can pull off a suit when the situation calls for it. He enjoys making use of sashes and scarfs to extenuate his outfits and add flair to them. Because of the uniqueness of his feet he is limited to wearing custom boots or going barefoot. He will usually wear a crucifix necklace.
His hero custom matches his stylistic flair, but is surprisingly simple. The main body of the skin-tight suit is black. There is a red V that goes from the pointed shoulder guards and goes to his pelvic region. Along with the suit he wears white boots that go almost to his knee. Where the boots end just bellow his knee, there are red accents. He also wears white gloves that go just bellow his elbow. As with the boots, his gloves have red accents where they end.
Personality
Sexual Orientation:
Straight
General Personality:
Kurt is a devout Catholic, and his faith plays a significant role in his life. His religious beliefs are a source of strength and comfort, helping him navigating the moral complexities of being a mutant and a super hero. He often grapples with questions of good, evil, redemption, and the nature of his own existence. His moral compass is very strong, and he is always striving to do the right thing. His strong sense of morality and his faith, often cause him to reflect on the dual nature of his existence - his outwardly demonic appearance in contrast to his inner goodness. He constantly seeks to reconcile the two aspects of his identity. He is willing to make personal sacrifices for the greater good and is often the first to volunteer for difficult or dangerous missions. Kurt is fiercely loyal to his friends and the X-Men. He is always willing to go out of his way to help others, showing great empathy and compassion. His kindness extends even to those who fear or misunderstand him, and there have been many. Despite the number of tragic incidents caused by his appearance, Kurt has kept his optimism and cheerful outlook on life, proving himself incredibly resilient. He is most well known amongst the other X-Men and other heroes for his playful demeanor, his great sense of humor, and his endless sense of optimism. Kurt deeply believes in giving people a chance at redemption and helping people down that path.

History:
Kurt's origins began in the castle of Baron Christian Wagner in the Bavarian Alps, Germany. The shapeshifting mutant Raven Darkhölme had taken on the form of a German noblewoman, becoming the baron's wife. She convinced her husband to hire the mutant Irene Adler as a maid, and later began having an affair with her. During this time, Raven also had a brief affair with a mutant who called himself Azazel. Irene eventually convinced Raven to have a child with her. Raven agreed and used the genetic make up of primarily Azazel and Christian to conceive a child with Irene. Raven faked her own pregnancy as Christian was desperate to have an heir. Baron Wagner, who had come to realize he was infertile, became paranoid and suspected his wife of being unfaithful when she announced her pregnancy. An unfortunate series of events followed as Christian confronted Raven and was murdered by her. Raven posed as the Baron for a short time, but the truth was eventually discovered when the servants discovered Raven in her natural form with Irene, holding the baby Kurt. The local villagers and servants of Baron Wagner gathered with pitch forks and torches, planning on killing the pair and the child or at least chasing them out of the area.
Raven was able to distract their pursuers, while Irene escaped with Kurt. Irene took him to Margail Szardos, a sorceress and Romani queen. Margail took Kurt and her two children to Jahrmarkt, more commonly known as Herr Getmann's Traveling Menagerie, joining it as a fortune teller. Kurt was raised amongst the members of the circus, coming to view them as family for they had no prejudices against "freaks" such as himself. Margail acted as his foster mother, though she never formally adopted him. Margail's children, Stephan and Jimaine, became very close to Kurt, viewing each other as siblings. Stephan feared the magical powers he possessed and had Kurt swear a blood-oath that if he ever killed without reason, Kurt was to put a stop to him no matter what Kurt had to do. Kurt begrudgingly agreed to Stephan's request for a blood-oath, banking on the fact that he would never have to confront his foster brother. Kurt grew restless hiding his presence during the circus's performances. While the members of the Jahrmarkt accepted him, Margail feared what the audience might think of him. During one of the performances, Kurt's restlessness reached a fever pitch, and he joined the act. The crowd received him surprisingly well, thinking that he was simply wearing makeup and a costume.
Knowing there was no going back, Margail made the young Kurt swear to keep up the deception, asking him to never reveal to the audience the truth of his nature. He agreed reluctantly, knowing the potential dangers he could be putting the others in if he did, Kurt agreed to her request. As he grew older, his presence drew less and less of a crowd. The ringmaster Herr Getmann did not share the other members of Jahrmarkt's opinion of Kurt, viewing the young child as a true "freak" unlike other members of the menagerie. Getmann hatched a scheme to make some extra money, putting Kurt into a cage, and planning on selling him off to the highest bidder. Margail and Armen, a young boy and fellow member of the menagerie, worked together to set Kurt free. Kurt accidentally started a fire as he fled, being chased by Getmann and several of his armed men. Just as he was cornered, his teleporting powers manifested for the first time, taking Kurt away from the dangerous situation. Thankfully his power teleported him near Father Wagner's church. The priest took Kurt in, offering him sanctuary despite his appearance.
The Priest taught Kurt of faith and Catholicism in the few days they were together. It was a surprise to both of them when Getmann and his goons came bursting through the door, chasing after Armen. A brawl ensued, with the church catching on fire. Kurt was shocked when Getmann and his gun wielding goons froze in place. A bald man in a wheel chair introduced himself as Professor Charles, a telepath and fellow mutant. He made Getmann and his goons believe Kurt had died in the fire before offering Kurt a place in his school. Kurt was young and unprepared accept such an offer. He spent another couple years traveling the world, briefly joining various circuses around the world. None held the same place in his heart as the Jahrmarkt did. When he heard that the original members had reunited and started the Jahrmarkt up again, Kurt was enthusiastic to rejoin. His enthusiasm was short lived. His foster brother had grown dark and jealous in their time apart. The rest of the members were very happy to see Kurt rejoin the troupe. Problems began to arise when a Texas millionaire by the name of Amos Jardine bought up the Jahrmarkt. Amos planned on moving the circus to America, but demanded that Kurt be forced into the circus's freak show.
Kurt refused to be treated in such a demeaning way, and sought out Stephan, hoping that him and his foster brother could rally the other members of the Jahrmarkt. Kurt instead found his foster brother with the dead bodies of several mutant children. Confronting his foster brother, Kurt found out that his brother had been killing mutant children for a while, and realized the darkness he had sensed within Stephan had not been his imagination. Kurt and Stephan fought as he tried to stop his foster-brother. In the ensuing struggle, Kurt accidentally killed his foster brother. As if the situation couldn't get worse, the townsfolk found Kurt surrounded by the dead bodies. For the third time in his life he was being hunted. Thankfully Charles Xavier had investigate the deaths of the mutant children and was able to save Kurt from his pursuers. No longer able to stay with the Jahrmarkt, Kurt finally chose to accept the invitation to become a member of the X-Men. Kurt attended high school and College with the help of an Image Inducer, while still participating in missions as a member of the X-Men. Juggling the work of being an X-Men and school was challenging, but Kurt was very used to living a challenging lifestyle. Over the years, Kurt grew to learn more about his complicated origins. He grew close to his fellow X-man, Anna Marie, over their shared connection to Raven Darkhölme. Kurt slowly mastered his powers, pushing their boundaries. Over the years with the team, Kurt also grew to accept his physical appearance, relying less and less on the image inducers Xavier had given him.
During a battle with the Friends of Humanity Kurt's powers were stressed out. Without Kurt unable to simply teleport away, Margail used this opportunity to finally get revenge for the death of her son, banishing Kurt to the Brimstone Dimension. It took his fellow X-Men a couple days to piece together what had happened, but even longer to free their comrade from his banishment. Kurt spent six months in the Brimstone dimension, unable to escape to his home by simply teleporting away. He was forced to survive the harsh, and he was not alone. The Brimstone dimension was killed with other beings. Some were sentient. Some were not, and were very dangerous to come across. Eventually the X-Men were able to create a portal, saving Kurt from the hellscape he had been forced to endure; however, it was not so simple as that. Some of the denizens escaped, and the X-Men had to force them back into the Brimstone dimension before they wreaked havoc on Earth. After his experiences in the Brimstone Dimension, Kurt took a leave of absence from the team, enrolling in Seminary and became an ordained Catholic priest. Two years passed, and Kurt grew to miss his friends and family. He realized he could do more to help his fellow mutants as a member of the X-Men than he could as a priest. He left the life of a priest, rejoining the team and becoming the official Drama Teacher for the students at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters .
Role Play Sample:
"Liebchen, your heart does not seem in this. Are you sure a life of crime is what you wish to live?" The words left Kurt's mouth as he effortlessly dodged the young and inexperienced mutant attacking him. Kurt could hear the sound of battle in the distance. The crew this young woman was running with clearly had more experience and were more committed to the fight, knowing that they couldn't run from the X-Men. She on the other hand, had immediately bailed the moment the X-Men had shown up. Human cops it seemed were one thing, but an actual trained superhero team was a completely different matter. Kurt's tail flicked around his side deflecting her hand. He didn't know what her power was, but he knew enough fellow mutants to know he likely didn't want to fight out randomly in the field. He ducked as she followed up with her other hand, dancing around her with a disarming smile on his face. She wasn't much older than he had been when his powers had developed and likely had been kicked out of her home when they had. Not all parents were receptive to having a mutant child. He could not understand how any parent could not love their child. He followed up his words by saying,"It is not too late for you to turn your life around. I understand what you are going through, but hurting people and robbing a bank is only going to lead to a life of fear and sadness not just for those around you, but for yourself as well."
The girl took a few steps away from Kurt, seeming to accept that she likely couldn't hit him. Kurt could see the mixture of emotions on her face. She was confused and didn't want to be here, but was angry and desperate. Kurt could see the betrayal in her eyes. He remembered seeing that same look in Margail's eyes as she cast him into the Brimstone Dimension. The girl finally spoke,"It's too late. I've robbed a bank. There is no going back." Kurt chuckled and replied,"No, it is never too late to seek redemption. I understand how you feel. Many of us have been in your situation. Unfortunately there will be many more of our kind who will suffer and be forced into a similar situation. Being a better person and seeking a better path is a choice. You are very young still, and now you are at a crossroad. You must choose who you want to be, and how you want the world to see you." He leaned down picking up a bundle of money that had spilled out of the bag she had been carrying before the chaos of the fight. He tossed the money to her and said,"That should hold you over for a little while. It seems that you have gotten away liebchen. Very impressive, glückwunsch. If you happen to find your way to Xavier's Institute for Gifted Youngsters, we won't ask any questions. Everyone deserves a second chance. Auf wiedersehen liebchen." He gave her a wink his tail whipping around to collect the bag containing the rest of the money. There was a soft bamf as air filled where he was standing along with smoke from the brimstone dimension, followed by the sound of his laughter as he joined the fray with his teammates.
