Kurin looked over the venue that had been chosen for this mission. A rather busy part of Tokyo, and rather cluttered at that. The street was more wide open than most as there was an intersection where many pedestrians were milling about, and the subway station nearby also necessitated more open space. But there were also so many buildings around with signage and cables and varying roof heights that Kurin was sure if public use of quirks were legal there'd be mobility types using this area as a playground to jump around in. It was like a supersized jungle gym here... "How obnoxious... I don't like being sent to places like this..." Kurin muttered to himself as he lurked in a dark alleyway. It was dusk out, and with his dark cloak shrouding him he blended into the shadows perfectly. The lights of nighttime businesses would turn on soon and make him a bit easier to spot, but he didn't really intend to stick around for long. He had a job to do, then he'd be dropping into a nearby manhole to slink off underground like he usually did. Glancing down at his phone to check the time, it was just about time to set up. His job was to unleash a monster as the nightly SPR patrol drew near this location. In the patrol there was some foreigner hero, Cr... what was it... Crisp? Crush? Something, he didn't care really. Point was he was a legacy kid of some really big name heroes overseas, and D.O. wanted to test him out anonymously. See what kind of nuisance he'd end up being. "Geez they're working me like a dog lately, causing all these attacks. Eventually the heroes are gonna wise up to how this works" Kurin muttered as he held out his hand and began generating shadows. After mulling over which of his many creations to deploy this time, he settled on one that could make real use of all the vertical space. Plus this legacy kid was supposed to be a brawler type so it needed to be able to keep pace but be mobile enough to not just be a punching bag. This would do then, even if it cost a bit more than his other top-class monsters. Kurin injected 7 shots of his stimulant, giving the beast a little extra to work with. 4 shots were used to make the body, and the remaining three would fuel it's abilities. Kurin considered giving it more, but this was a test fight, and he needed to keep some to make sure he was safe if anyone gave him a hard time. Still, the mass of shadows in front of him now taking shape would be more than enough to fight any pro hero, let alone some student. The shadows began to coalesce, at first it seemed like it was taking a somewhat humanoid shape, but the torso was so bulky, and the number of arms sprouting from it were wrong, two, four, six arms sprouted one after another, forming muscular appendages with claws at the end. Little holes in the hands were well camouflaged in the dark color scheme of the beast. Then came the legs, hairy and bulky, with talons made for piercing and climbing, and muscles meant for jumping. A bulbous mass emerged from the rear, twitching and ugly. Then finally came the head, the fangs formed first, long nasty things that looked like they were designed to inject venom or simply pierce and let a target bleed out. Then the rest of the head formed, with too many eyes for it to be a human head even disregarding the fangs. And with that, the monster was formed The monster, still controlled by Kurin at this point, ripped open the manhole cover for him to drop down into, replacing it once he did. His work here was done. He didn't need to stay close and control this thing after all. The instincts it was created with would do the job. It was a lot smarter than some of his other monsters too, spiders were clever hunters after all, and this beast was an amalgamation and exacerbation of all the most deadly spider traits. With the escape route secured and covered back up, the Nightmare scurried up a wall and perched on top of a sign, looking down at the unsuspecting civilians passing around underneath that had failed to notice it, humans rarely thought to look up after all. A couple of men in suits were coming out of the building below, they would do. Dark threads shot from its hands, wrapping around two civilians and yanking them upwards towards the hungry mouth of the Nightmare. Confused onlookers saw the first man be yanked up and slowly followed with their gaze, only to see the Nightmare with its fangs bleeding him dry. Once it was done with it's first meal, it tossed the corpse down to the ground so it could focus on the second. The body, now bloodless, landed with a sickening thump. And that's when the screaming began.

It was odd. All the street lights seemingly turned to green in one direction. "HEY!" A familiar sentiment from familiar capes swooping in. Speed's well known call and response was baked into SPR procedure at this point. It was easy to here and easy to pick up one depending on which hero one saw. Everyone in SPR had their talents, and crowd control was his. His voice boomed from all the way down the street. Roaring Tigre would direct the foot traffic, "Follow the lights! Villain sighting! HEY HEY HEY! MY WAY!" With no much else but panic, majority of the civillians would stampede toward Tigre and beyond as he pointed them as far from danger as possible. "Hey..." Hoping there would still be some life left. Veil softly floated down, her flaming hair gifting warmth to what she hoped were alive bodies. With a sorrow filled glance to the agency leader who was arriving behind her on a cloud, she spoke " It's too late, Panda...""But we got here as fast as we could... Get them to the nearest hospital and anyone else who may have gotten hurt. " Issuing a command. Panda held a grim face for whoever wanted to play on SPR turf. They were working on so much, and for a villain to come ruin it all? Through comms, the least known member of the agency, Manga Man spoke. "I saw the villain. It's like a spider lookinggggg... thing. I fled, of course. I'm safe and sound." "A good enough description." A blur of purple incoming from a high jump, followed by the ground crackling beneath his heavy footed landing. With a glint in his eyes, Ivan scanned the dispersing crowd for this... spider lookinggggg thing. As things slowly cleared, the agency was hard at work to contain the unrest. The only members looking to accept action were Storm Surge Panda, and Crest, the main combatants. Panda took his Kanabo and whirled in a circle over his head to churn water vapor and wind. While it held no effect on things now, it would pay off greatly over time. Ivan on the other hand would make steps toward the creature. "Wrong place, wrong time, bug. Surrender, or it means some serious jail time." Floating above, Panda analyzed the creature slowly. Angling himself, he awaited his sidekick to take point. This wasn't necessarily a tactic, he just knew Ivan to be impatient. Also out of the two, Panda was more of a slow starter. There was also a great hunch forming about this bug thing. There was something about it... He couldn't make heads or tails of this feeling, but he knew if he kept thinking on it something would come. Ivan would break into a sprint with a hearty jump toward the villainous scum. Ivan- "Bug? You're gonna hurt its feelings."

The Nightmare cocked its head as its fun was interrupted suddenly, the chaos it had caused to start had been perfect for it to simply hop around and wrap people up in dark threads, some it ate, but many it simply left hanging in cocoons with their faces exposed so they could scream and cry. But not long after it began its rampage the chaotic crowds started moving with purpose, all in the same direction. It glanced around, seeing several prey show up who looked different than the others, but one in particular stood out.
The Nightmare fixated it's eyes on Ivan, a primal instinct in its core recognized this one. It was supposed to fight this one. The others elicited a similar sensation, but it knew this prey was the primary target. Target? It didn't have targets, just prey. But this was the target, it knew this, and therefore it had to kill this one.
To the members of SPR this internal conflict looked like a moment of confusion, or what could approximate that on the spider-like face, followed by an unsettling level of focus. It was staring right at Ivan with its frontmost eyes, though the extra eyes kept an eye on the surroundings. It didn't seem to react to Ivan's words though.
Reaching over to a nearby sign, the Nightmare ripped it off the building, then hurled it like an oversized shuriken at Ivan. It was a pretty simple attack, complicated a bit by the fact that there was currently a civilian stuck to the sign by its spider threads. There were civilians all over tied up, all crying out for help, adding another level of danger to the whole situation for the agency. The upside was that they knew in advance it could use something akin to spider threads, but they'd have their hands full keeping the civilians safe while also fighting. If they attacked recklessly they'd end up hitting a civilian themselves, to say nothing of what the Nightmare could do.

Ivan would reach a halt mid air, rather he slipped his hand in his sash and use his reeling device to catch himself. With an extended free arm, he'd catch the civillian while simultaneously coating his free leg in armor. With a shimmer accruing, an loud clang could be heard as he pulled both knees up to block. The sign would stop dead in it's tracks, as Ivan puffed his cheeks up with a deep inhale aiming to resist the leftover g-force. He whip back ward allowing the device to pull him toward the opposing light pole. "Sorry for the rough ride... you're gonna go up, so brace yourself..." He chucked the person as high as he could muster for Veil to swoop in and craddle them to safety with her flame induced flight and into the distance. "Gotcha"
The air shifted, a cool breeze would be replaced with a moist warm one, and a stronger headwind to follow it up. Above, Panda patiently churned the elements around him. "Comic strip grey, New Edge." Shadowy silk would be cut by Manga man as he snuck around the crowd. Out of all the heroes, he was practically invisible among the civillians. He had no hero costume. He'd pretend to be a panicked civillain as well, and race to lead some civillians toward Roaring Tigre, the safety director of traffic. The agency was hard at work trying to make things easier to Crest, and SSP. If the plan was to let those two fight, the team would have to their fair share and carry some of the burden. They also needed to get the hell out of there, before the two began rolling their combo moves.
A droplet of rain. While Ivan was busy reacting to the sign shuriken, Panda's motor started to finally run "Hai haiiii, Panda doppler radar suggests a sudden pick up in turbulent activity. With further inspection, a torrent ought to roll right in! Cloud cast Squal." He smirked letting the villain know of the upcoming events. Water vapor crowded the teen, as he finally stood up and slipped his konabo back into it's holster. Leaping from his nimbus he'd come to a speedy descent upon the villain. His smile was bright, and cheery. Despite leaping off of his own nimbus, the cloud remained and swiftly morphed into a heavy storm cloud and expanded with ease due to Panda's prep.
Upon his descent, so did the rain. A torrent was right... Panda and just about everything would vanish under to overpowering rush of falling water. One would think the attack was still coming from above, but nothing would come. Ivan was out of sight as well... Just the roar of the downpour. In the distance, there was a shimmer. In this poor visibility, it was clear enough to see it was an armored foot after making a big leap. Only Crest were capable of such a thing.

The Nightmare was confused when the rain began, but not upset. The downpour served the dim the already rather dark environment, making the only source of light the various shop signs and the few internal lights from shops that hadn't been turned off before the people inside fled. The words Panda spoke meant nothing to it, it had only the most rudimentary grasp of prey languages, but it understood the situation regardless. Something one of the prey had done had made it rain and reduced visibility, classic prey, foolish prey. Didn't prey know nightmares were stronger in the dark?
The Nightmare made a noise that, on a human, might've been a laugh, but it came out as a wet squelching and screeching noise. Then the Nightmare spotted a shimmer... light? in this storm? it was surprised to see the Target's leg shell glittering with light despite there being so little light to reflect.
Meanwhile, the heroes would find that unlike normal spider thread, this shadowy substance didn't seem to lose integrity when wet. It was difficult to cut too, hard and sinewy... it kind of seemed more like muscle fiber than thread. Still the progress of freeing civilians would go mostly unimpeded as the Nightmare didn't seem especially focused on them.
The Nightmare seemed to become less distinct in the darkness, it was as if the shadows of the darkened area and the monster were one, but its silhouette was too large to simply vanish. It considered for a moment the oddity of the glittery shell on Target, but Target was just prey, even if it was Target. And so the Nightmare bounded closer, six arms unleashing a flurry of powerful blows to crush Target into the ground, each one even stronger than the muscular arms would portray, and the six arms unleashing more blows than could be effectively blocked in a fair fight by a two armed martial artist. If Target died, it could go back to having fun hunting.

The shimmer of the armor intensified the closer the shadowy fiend got. The armor was not only loose but in pieces, shimmering like a flashbang to blind the fiend. This whole thing was a set up!-Killing visibility, and only giving the fiend a single focal point to key in on. "Radiant!" Ivan's voice could actually be heard a bit close for comfort, with his remaining leg shimmering with stored energy. Incoming directly beside him was Panda with a dark storm cloud rumbling around his sleeve. Both combatants were already reeling back for a hard swing. With their foe having its back turned and the flashbang hopefully doing it's job, this would be as good a time as any. With smile , Panda- " VOLT!"Grimacing, Crest combined his strength with his ally's lighting at the cost of taking a bit of damage himself. "CLAD!""CRUSH!" With that both heroes would swing with all there might dispensing the shining raw physical power of Ivan's armor, and reverberating electricity of Panda's storm sleeve and surrounding rain. Succesful or not, both heroes would disappear once more into the torrent of rain... ______________OOC: Downpour killing visibility will last only one more cycle. My next post it will be clearing up.

As the Nightmare crashed down onto the scattered glowing armor, the flashbang went off, eliciting a deafening screech of pain as it covered its eyes with four out of six arms. In the brief flash of light it almost seemed like the monster's form was writhing, it was just for a moment, but it seemed the the thing was sensitive to flashbangs, perhaps those six eyes made it extra susceptible to sudden burst of light... or was it something else?
Unfortunately for the heroes, the Nightmare's instinct upon being struck with a large burst of light was to leap away, inadvertently dodging the attacks as it moved, jumping onto the wall of a building that didn't have any lit up signs and quickly becoming indistinct. The reduced visibility cutting both ways as the thing's dark form simply vanished into the darkness for the moment
Still reeling from the light, the Nightmare seethed with anger. They'd laid a trap for it? IT? That wasn't how this worked! It was the hunter! It did not get trapped, it trapped prey! They were just prey! They were not hunters, they had no right to wound it, had no right to trick it, their only purpose was to be hunted and consumed!
They Were PREY
------------
Down in the sewers, a rather soaked Kurin (courtesy of a sudden onset of rainwater he had no idea was coming), suddenly paused as he felt his control over the Nightmare snap. Usually his control lessened gradually as his distance from the creatures he made increased, or they existed for too long and their instincts began superseding his control. But this time his control shattered suddenly, making him shudder.
"Already? The hell did they do to it? he muttered, glancing back and considering if he should return to increase the difficulty of this test for the legacy kid. But if the kid and the patrol were doing well already, he wanted nothing to do with them. Besides it wasn't like him losing control meant this fight was over... to the contrary, without his directives holding it back it had just gotten a lot more dangerous.
----------------
The infuriated Nightmare, still hidden by shadows, pointed a hand at the few remaining glowing signs whose light might still reveal it, dark threads shot from each palm, these ones faster and harder than the ones it had been snaring defenseless civilians with, these acted more like javelins, striking and destroying some of the only remaining light sources. Now there were only lights coming from a handful of storefronts, white light spilling into the street and casting eerie shadows as they failed to illuminate the walls the beast was scurrying around on, hunting the prey that had enraged it so.
The darkness was no impediment to the Nightmare, but the heavy rain was at least hiding the prey for the moment, leading to a temporary stalemate as it searched.

"Tch missed..." Ivan snarled. "What a waste of perfectly flashy moment..." Pun intended, SSP was able to track a little better than Ivan. While that blind tactic hinged on Ivan's quirk, the teen actually had a terrible sense of direction. If Nightmare were smart it would realize Ivan playing point and the aggressor was relatively straight forward. Being a brawler hero, there weren't any fancy tricks besides outfighting a foe. Panda on the other hand, his objective was to control the flow of the fight and to throw a decisive blow if in position. Despite being the younger of the two, he was the most experienced. Ivan- "I'm resetting. You're going on my mark again, right?" Panda chuckled. "That was quite the reaction to your quirk's radiant technique. I actually think we should play some defense. I've got to see a few more things... I don't even think that reaction was human...""Eh?"At the sounds of the signs crashing down, Panda would chuckle and sprint toward the sounds. "Yeah, yeah, on your mark again. Use these. They're supposed to go to to you and Fali, but I haven't gotten the chance to give some to her. " The number 13 would haphazardly toss a strange ball at Ivan. It was tightly wrapped with markings of yellow and black. Ivan realized exactly what they were when he clutched the ball. "Heard loud and clear. You want defense, you'll get defense." With a hearty leap, Ivan purposefully harness some power load and shimmering light. He'd clad his arm to become and even more obvious light source. This would change, as slowly the down pour would reign itself in. Majority of the water vapor would return to Panda in the form of a weather coat. Puffy white and black clouds collected on the boy, even sporting panda ears. "Panda Gaurd"
The shadowy ghoul now had two options as the heavy rain was lifting. Ivan making himself an obvious target in this dark city scape, or Panda who seemed to be prepping some other strange trick.

The Nightmare looked between its targets as the visibility improved. The prey with the fancy shiny shell was glowing again, what a nuisance that one was. But looking between them, it considered its options. The fact one prey could generate light was a problem, but the real problem was the other one. It was up to something more than just being on guard. These were clever prey, they had tricked it once in its arrogance, and the trick had only worked because of the water prey.
Some prey were fighters, others were tricksters. It was obvious which one was more important to take out first. The light shell prey would be tough to take down on his own, best to ensure he didn't have any fancy tricks backing him up.
Remaining in the darkness, the Nightmare scurried along the dark walls, it's large form moving with what alarming quietness as the spider-like hairs let it cling to the walls and muffled the sound of each movement. Once it repositioned, it aimed four hands at Panda, shooting out another volley of piercing threads that arced around to each strike from a different angle simultaneously. The clouds surrounding him made it difficult to precisely target his vitals, but each attack would be aimed to pierce a major organ. A surgical and lethal strike, as a hunter ought to deliver.
The remaining two hands stayed on standby, one grabbing and preparing to rip off another sign to use as a shield if needed against any more flashbang attacks, the other aimed at the light shell prey and readying a faster and sharper piercing thread, coiled up like a spring inside the arm so it could shoot out far quicker and with more force, albeit only in a direct line. If the light shell prey dropped its guard to go help the water prey, it would aim to shoot for whatever the opening exposed... ideally aiming at a vital organ, but it would settle for just piercing him and halting his movements for a moment, letting him bleed and weaken over time.
Panda's hunch about the inhuman nature of their opponent seemed to be gaining some legitimacy here, while the attacks coming for them were clever and precise... they had the distinct vibe of a stalking predator more than a villain. Hell with how dark it was this Nightmare probably could've just slunk off into the darkness now that heroes were here... but instead it was stalking them

The bug taking down some of the street signs did keep visibility low as the torrent dialed itself down to a drizzle. With the visibility getting slightly better, Panda too seemed to be collecting a bit of light. Though it was far more faint, much more vibrant in color and somewhat blurry, Panda had a soft glow about him. He'd pose with a wide grin. If he took away the thought that this was human, and that this was some sort of quirk monster... Options were kind of endless... There was the menagerie who specialized in the sort... There was the yakuza, who were playing with quirk stimulants and enhancer drugs... Damascus seemed to have some real monsters too... The last local instance of a quirk monster was also in Tokyo and also some freaky dark fiend who faced off against Strive and Speed a few months back. "I need to confirm a few more things before jumping to conclusions. " He mumbled, letting his clouds do the work as he slowly inched further and further backwards. This weather coat was his rainy fur!
Pierced through at all angles, the after image cloud would dissipate. "Oh, so there you are! Crest, that way!" Defense was the correct choice. Unlike the prior bait and switch tactic, this was purely baiting to help their eyes. It made most sense to find the direction of the bug if it took the initiative. Panda was only a few steps away from where he previously was, though this time pointing at the obscure creature clinging to the wall. From his side, there was blood, a result of being grazed. Ivan promptly reeled himself closer to the building and launched a projectile at the villain with some of the raw power of his armor. Radiant having an odd effect was what Ivan keyed in on before Panda sprinted off. A normal flash bang ought to have a similar affect.
Not that the spider fiend would understand, but Ivan would grumble under his breath. Villains made his sick to his core. Human or not, it was causing havoc in this new country he called home. It was making his blood boil. For some, going into a blind rage was a thing, but for Ivan, he knew how to direct his inner fire. It only made him sharper. "Stupid villain, you're getting cocky because you don't know who we are -who I AM!" Much like his retired mentor Speed, his partner Strive, SPR's current agency leader Panda, and even his father, Ivan was a physical incarnate of heroic pride. It was something stupid to hold onto, but it was a contagious fire starter. A powerful kind of stupidity. The kind of childish and self sacrificing stupidity that allows people to want to be a hero in the first place. Thoughts echoing the heroes he followed rushed through his mind as he rushed into action:
-There are people who need us to win to feel safe.
-I can't let my fellow heroes down.
-You should be looking for me if things get dire.
-I fight to win. To win is to protect others.
-Everything will be okay, because I'm here.
-You there, villain, you should be looking at me! I'm the light you hate so much.
In a way, Ivan felt disrespected that the fiend prioritized Panda. He roared "You should be more worried about ME! I'm the hero who will stand at the peak, Crest, the shining example!"
Once his foot touched the building he immediately would bound a solid height over the monster in a rapidly spinning somersault. The speed of the flips would only increase as he descended with speed. The monster would likely hear the hard click of Ivan's flash bang cracking against the wall before erupting into a wall of light. With this aerial manuever, Crest's cape would envelope his body and shield him from the harsh light he was swooping down upon. It also obscured any showing of what Ivan was actually planning. Panda on the other, would shield himself behind his arms. The sleeves of his panda gaurd weather coat would darken, sparks bouncing of his knuckles and dancing along the clouds. "I would've liked a heads up this time... but, that's what the hell I'm talking about! " SSP said squinting at Ivan's assault. The teen grinned from ear to ear. Despite the blinding flash, Panda ran towards it... -ready for whatever!
"HEY HEY! You had the right idea, bug! Keep aiming at me, I aint scared! The stormy hero is here to rain on any evil doers parade, keep aiming at ME, Storm Surge Panda!" That's right, this thing wasn't human. The more they could confuse it, the easier of a time they'd have. Panda would also pay close close attention to how it reacted to the flash this time. This time he'd let Ivan take the reigns. Panda never quite understood this tactic of Ivan's... the risk far outweighed the reward. Like a matador, Ivan's cape served as something for the villain to be aiming at and very weary of with Panda closing in from afar.

The Nightmare hissed in frustration as the water prey revealed another trick. Body doubles huh? That was much more of a prey move than the last one, this made sense for a prey to do to avoid the claws of a predator. The threads that had pierced the body double wouldn't just fade away though, as Panda's real location was revealed they'd arc around to chase him down, not able to surround him like before, but still being 4 fast moving piercing threads.
At least at first, Ivan's assault threw a wrench into things. It saw Ivan throw something at it, it wasn't glittery like the shell had been, but the Nightmare was wary of it regardless. The prey liked their flashy items after all, so as the flashbang struck the wall and began to detonate, the Nightmare was quick with it's plan to rip off a sign and use it as a shield against the light, mostly protecting it from the flash. But to Panda who was observing and looking for clues it gave an obvious sign. This thing didn't like bright lights, and it was actively shielding itself from them. Additionally, the sign shield didn't protect the dark threads, and they broke apart in the shining light, thus preventing the ones chasing Panda from causing more trouble.
With the flashbang blocked the Nightmare could see the somersaulting Ivan clearer than planned, though the flowy cape did make reading what Ivan intended to attack with more difficult, it had no intention of letting the prey strike it with that glittery shell, aiming it's prepped thread at him in midair and taking a moment to thicken it, giving it more weight, then firing. Like a shot from a ballista the now thicker spring loaded thread would crash into Ivan's assault with enough force to knock him away if he blocked, or pierce through him and cause a nasty shock to the surrounding tissue if he decided to trade blow for blow here. Thankfully the cape and spinning did make targeting any specific organs impossible, it was once again simply hoping for a wound that would weaken the prey over time.

Panda rushed forward ready to let sparks fly but noticed the threads vanish in the bright light of Ivan's flashbang. "I see! So it's not a person. It's kinda like Nocturne's shadow inventions." Everyone knew about the number 10's quirk, he could imagine a lively dragon into existance from his very shadow. The only impending force that could take it on was a equal or stronger attack or a quirk that produced great light. Light? This was well within their wheelhouse. It also put into perspective, that the thing Strive and Speed face off against was also likely a shadow made fiend.... a poor match up for a brawler duo. With a glance at Ivan, SSP was realizing this matador trick was a bluff this time. "Hahahahaha, selfish! Okay, side kick, show me something bright!" Crest was only trying this because he knew someone was there to save him. Lightning sparks of his knuckles as he clutched at the air. At the ready of his tug was a lightning bolt practically clawing at the air with fraying electricity. "Volt Circus!" In a blink, he'd let it rip, just as fast as the fiend could release the power-loaded piercing thread. The two would collide! The kickback of the two colliding would knock Crest right out his somersaulting and reveal no trick a all, just a shimmering arm ready to throw a powerful punch. "NICE SAVE!" Crest remarked. He knew Panda had his back no matter what. It's what allowed him to fight freely. He'd lost quite a bit of momentum, but that was okay. It gave him a second or two extra to take aim. He didn't need direct contact, he only needed to get close. The target of his fist was within spitting distance at this point. Panda quickly found a nearby traffic pole to cling to in prep for the big swing. With a glint, Crest swing his fist at the bug. At the full extension of his arm, there would be a powerful shimmering shockwave accompanied by a strong gale force. "Champion Thrust!"

Again that water prey interfered. The Nightmare was getting really sick of these two, each time it tried to deal with one the other interfered. And it seemed both of them had troublesome light abilities... it needed to remove one from the picture before they could turn the tides on it. Prey were inferior to Predators, but clearly these had the ability to pose a problem when working in tandem.
With it's attack at the glitter shell intercepted, the thread would be damaged beyond further use due to the light from the counterattack, so the Nightmare just reabsorbed what was left of it back into itself, no need to waste material. The glitter shell one was on the attack now, launching a glittery pressure wave. The nightmare jumped to the ground from it's perch to avoid the light, though the pressure wave still slammed into it, making it spin as it hit the ground and have to steady itself.
Notably though the gale had been able to knock it around a little, it didn't seem to do much visible damage. Having lost precious seconds to the rough landing though the Nightmare couldn't risk charging back in to strike at the glitter shell in midair without opening itself up to a counterattack, so it would leave that one be and change focus. Whirling to face Panda with it's body and arms, with its abdomen bubbling and facing Ivan as it fired what seemed to be an egg at the falling glittery hero.
When the egg got close it burst, showering the glittery hero with sticky threads like a net, but more important than the net restricting his movements for a bit was what was crawling around inside it. A bunch of tiny shadow monster spiders that would bite and tear into his flesh. They didn't have venom, but they seemed to be trying to burrow into him, if they found any arteries they were bound to do something nasty, and even if they didn't there were a lot of them ripping and tearing at the flesh. Between them and the threads, the Nightmare figured it would keep that glitter shell prey for a little bit. It could use it's light to help break out of the threads and swat away the spiders, but it was still going to take time to get all the threads and spiders off safely.
While that one was busy, the Nightmare charged at Panda with alarming speed now that visibility was better and it could be less cautious, it would make wide sweeping slashes with its six claws, kicking up gusts as it made these large motions to blow away any water vapor the water prey could use to make another illusion. It made the individual slashes a bit easier to read, but there were six arms launching them, and the Nightmare was fast and powerful. It fully intended to do some damage here, committing fully to the attack and even risking a lightning strike of retaliation if it meant hurting this prey enough to stop their constant interference.

"You don't like light, right?" He switched his sparkpoint knuckles on, and allow the water vapor to contagiously carry electricity along his cloudy sleeves. He grinned at the face of danger. He was there to stop it after all!. He'd inhale deep, and begging letting punches fly at a rapid rate. Lightning would whip and crackle of each blow whether they landed against a slash or missed. The lighting would hopefully eat away at the monster the same way it aimed to chip away at his with these slashes. "Storm Sleeve, Rolling Thunder!" Blood splatter against the ground as the slashes that didn't clash against his lightning enhanced onslaught of punches, would follow throw and cut into his frame. He'd grit his teeth and fight through it.
Ivan- as much as he loved his caped, would yank it off his neck and net the egg as it burst. He'd did the armor hoping it's shimmering light would help contain them as well as he continued plummeting down. He yank the reeling device from his sashed and aim to use the momentum for a swing. In a pendulum motion, he'd launch himself toward the shadow fiend and his teammate. With another reeling device swing, he'd found himself getting closer and closer. In his sash, he'd find Speed's specialty item -A caution tape bomb, squeezing hard then yanking it loose the item would rapidly unravel when he tossed it become coiling back shut like a snare. This was in hopes of stopping all those wild slashes, or at least slow them down for Panda to lay a more lighting blows into the villain.
