CORE INFO
Name: Solomon Lampson
Alias(es): Sal or Saul
Gender: Male
Age: 17
APPEARANCE
Picture:
Physical Traits: Solomon is a fit man of six foot six, whose body shows the signs of a life of hard training and discipline. He's not a body-builder, but if one catches him in casual clothes they can see he has the clear physique of a body that's kept in shape, from what would be called a six-pack, to well-defined biceps. His skin is pale but healthy with no noticeable scars, though his hands are calloused by the lifetime of training he's put himself through, and he keeps his straight, dark dirty blond hair short enough to easily keep it out of the way in case he gets into a fight--which also makes it easy to see the ready, almost mischievous smile on his expressive face. Blue eyes are almost always alight with delight, amusement, or mischief, unbothered by the presence of a nose that's noticeably larger than average.
Clothes/Style: For clothing, unlike less esteemed nobles, Solomon generally prefers sturdy clothes that can stand up to a day of hard work, such as boots and gloves, with a shirt or tunic and leggings, frequently of leather or other treated materials designed for rough usage. Of course he is not immune to the call of aesthetics, preferring spiraling and twisting patterns of contrasting dark and bright colors such as black on white, or gold on blue, metal studs on black boots, etc.
PERSONALITY
Outer Persona: Solomon is a cheerful fellow who commonly seeks to make friends and jokes alike, though he is usually capable of muting it when on the job. He is not above the occasional prank, and definitely not above flirting (or trying to, anyway) with an attractive lady in his proximity, or even showing off to try and impress them. However, when danger looms and he is aware of it, he gets deadly serious and may try to take command when it's a team effort, and though due to inexperience he can be prone to mistakes, he does seem to have some skill for leading--especially taking responsibility for his mistakes. Generally, even with enemies, he prefers the fight to be somewhat sporting, direct confrontations unless that is literally not an option in which they can win. However, the definition of what constitutes sporting is flexible--he mostly just wants to be able to look them in the eyes as he puts them down, even if eye contact is only for a second or two, and is not afraid to let others know of his thoughts when he charges into a fight.
Inner Persona: Among the people he likes and trusts, Solomon is still fairly cheerful, but he's even more willing to own up to mistakes, and flaws--flaws which include jealousy for those who are more quick-witted than him. His mind is not the fastest, so sometimes it takes him time to puzzle through subtler things, and he is very aware of this lack. He does know fighting and potentially leading others in the fight is something he's good at, and he will tell the ones he's close to that he feels like it's all he's good at.
Core: Underneath everything else, is a young man with strong but still developing morals that he frequently may have to question before he comes to a firm decision, who wants above all to prove himself to his father and the rest of his family as well as his superiors, show them what he's capable of and earn their approval. The truth is, if his father (or another superior he strongly admired) ordered something he believed was wrong, he would have to wrestle long and hard to try and make what he believes compatible with what his father (or commander) wants him to do. All the better if he could get it done by inaction rather than actively having to work toward it--though he still has no idea which, in the end, he would choose. And though he would never admit it to anyone, he is jealous of those who come from a more loving and supportive family.
BACKGROUND
Summary: An outgoing, flirty and almost overconfident young nobleman trained for most of his life to join the guard. At the last moment, however, he joined the Hunters instead, seeking the prestige and respect he believed it would earn him among his family and peers--especially his father and siblings, none of whom dared make make so ambitious an endeavor.
History: The Lampson family is a prestigious noble line. Many among their ranks have, in the past, joined the church, the guard, or went into profitable business for themselves. Solomon was no different, training from a child to eventually join the guard and climb the ranks to a respectable position, even training in the art of command in preparation for what were sure to be inevitable promotions. But it wasn't anything outstanding, and home life wasn't exactly encouraging to him, particularly because mentally he wasn't as fast as most of his brothers and sisters--particularly the sharp business savvy of his oldest sister.
Even he came to realize that he needed to do something more out there, something truly outrageous, to earn a position of prestige within the family, and more importantly, the intensely cold and focused man that was his father. Oh, he was sure his father cared for him, deep down somewhere, but that man was more focused on the good of their family, and the city in general, than the benefit of one of his own offspring who couldn't seem to keep up. He never gave any explicit praise for anyone's accomplishments, least of all Solomon's.
And so, as he passed his 17th birthday, he finally came to a decision that, outwardly, appeared impulsive, but in truth he'd been pondering for most of a year--he went to the Hunters, prepared to sign the contract and earn the respect he wanted. He knew no one would give him something he didn't deserve, but he was wiling to work for it, whatever it took.
