Strakh Spider Physiology
In terms of shape, the Widow might look like a spider found on Earth, but she is far more dangerous than that. She is what has been called an Strakh Spider. Like with many arachnids, the females are larger and more powerful than the males, and Qhiassa is one step above this; she is a Matriarch, a mother spider. In the simplest of terms, she possessed super(spider) abilities, such as strength, durability, speed, and reflexes; even without the ring, she is one of the most dangerous Strakh Spiders, but her most hazardous natural abilities are her webbing, which is strong like steel, and sticky to hold her prey in place, and her natural venom... which when injected function by disrupting the brain signals controlling the neural impulses for movement in the victim, making such things as running very difficult, if not outright impossible for most regular people. Her victim can still feel pain, and the most insidious part is that the venom heightens their other senses, preventing them from falling asleep and keeping them awake even as their bodies scream for rest. Should a victim escape, as long as the venom is in their system, they will know no rest and fall to exhaustion sooner or later; the Widow is a patient huntress.
Qhiassa's offspring may not be as powerful as she, but given enough time, they can overcom odds on account of sheer numbers.
She is not strictly a telepath, but she communicates using a form of telepathic speech. As a member of Sinestro's corp, she has indomitable willpower, or Sinestro would not have chosen her for his great mission.
Yellow Energy Conduit
As one of those granted a Yellow Lantern Ring by Sinestro, The Widow has access to all the powers that came with it. The rings use yellow energy supplied by a Power Battery, which usually takes the form of yellow light. Yellow Power rings, considered by some to be one of the most potent weapons in the known universe, can affect and use fundamental forces of the known universe, including electromagnetic energies such as gravity, radiation, heat, light, and powerful blasts of concussive force.
Energy Blasts
Qhiassa can use the ring to fire blasts of yellow energy or create weapons such as projectiles.
Force-Field Generation
The Widow can create various forcefields of various sizes and shapes to protect the wearer and others around her. With the cosmic scope of a Sinestro corpsman's duties, it is only natural that the power ring is designed for operation in space. The ring creates a force field around the wearer, protecting him/her/it from the hazards of the void, including filtration of stellar radiation and microscopic particulate matter, which would ordinarily be fatal should the space debris strike the ring wielder at high speeds.
Energy Constructs
Using the power of the Yellow Ring, The Widow can form constructs of yellow energy. The primary function of the Power Ring is to provide a weapon capable of transforming The Widow's thoughts into physical constructs through her mastery of Fear. As a spider, most of her constructs fall within the scope of things a creature uses, such as webs and mandibles. But she is not just a beast; as such, she can create whatever constructs she thinks will be helpful. These constructs' powers depend on how much fear she has access to. Items made by the rings are not indestructible and are only as powerful as the fear The Widow can inspire.
Instil Fear/Fear Empowerment
Qhiassa knows that many creatures in the Universe fear spiders; she is not known as The Horror of Ages for nothing. By delving into an opponent's mind, she can reveal their fears. The power only works on the direct emotion of fear. Depending on her awareness of the fear of her opponent, Qhiassa's attacks and constructs will be stronger or weaker. This allows her to create the energy constructs of an opponent's worst nightmare. Also, once that fear is exposed, the ring's ability enables the Widow to amplify the fear to the point of irrationality and true horror on the victim's part, conversely empowering her simultaneously. It is a circle; the more fear she can cause, the more power she gains, and the more fear she can create.
Phasing
The Power Ring allows Qhiassa to pass through particular solid objects, such as walls. It depends upon her mastery of fear and the object's molecular structure density.
Limited Cellular Regeneration
The Widow can use the ring to repair minor injuries in herself or others.
Flight
The ring allows Qhiassa to fly at incredible speeds by manipulating anti-gravitons and directed molecular movement. She can fly as fast as Mach 10 in the atmosphere by creating an aerodynamic envelope around her body. Towing others, usually within a bubble, her speed is limited to twice the speed of sound or 1440 mph. Qhiassa's speed can be significantly greater in space and has been known to approach 80% of the speed in standard space. Flight is possible at velocities exceeding light speed. In atmospheres, air friction is not a hindrance since heat is absorbed or reflected by the ring's field. The power ring grants The Widow access to wormholes in space, enabling her to rapidly cut the time and distance needed for transport.
Environmental Playback:
Upon request, the power ring can recreate a holographic environment based on data in its memory banks. Qhiassa can observe events in a ghostlike state, but the ring wielder cannot alter the outcome of the playback.
Invisibility Light Refraction:
The Widow can render herself invisible by willing the ring to bend light waves around her and the ring.
Electromagnetic Scanning:
Within the ring's range, Qhiassa can use her ring to scan most regular electromagnetic phenomena, including radio, television, infrared, ultraviolet, and high-frequency band communications.
Ring Duplication:
Qhiassa's ring is capable of automatically duplicating itself. Each duplicate typically shares the qualities and capabilities of the original ring. While the thought of an unauthorized person getting a hold of a power ring and making duplicates for nefarious purposes, their ability to inflict damage is limited because each duplicate still requires to be recharged by a personal power battery, and only Sinestro can grant those.
Universal Translator:
Considering the myriad worlds, life forms, and cultures throughout the cosmos, it is understandable why Sinestro added a translation system to the power ring. The power ring can translate virtually any language in the universe, facilitating diplomatic encounters rather than violent confrontations. Or, in the case of Qhiassa, an easier way for potential dinners to be lured into her parlour.
Material Alteration:
The Sinestro Corpsman's uniform is not made out of fabric. It is created by the Power Ring whenever the wearer wants to wear it. It automatically appears over the wearer's regular clothing and vanishes when the wearer wills to return to their civilian attire. Most Sinestro Corpsmen wear similar uniforms programmed into the ring by default. However, due to her unusual form, Qhiassa has adjusted her uniform to fit her needs, personality and whims.
Emergency Beacon:
If distressed, Qhiassa can use her power ring as an emergency beacon. The alert can be directed to a Sinestro Soldier's neighbouring sector or a Corps-wide alert.
Mind Alteration:
As the power ring relies on thought and will to operate, mind tampering is not impossible. The real difficulty lies in properly applying the power. Should mistakes be made, there is a risk of catastrophic damage to the mind. A ring wielder can use the power ring to erase portions of an individual's memories. Sinestro taught Qhiassa to build mental defences to protect themselves from psionic attacks. The power ring can also beam information from the ring wielder to another being. Sinestro Corpsmen have used this technique to share information about their enemies during combat.
Security Protocol:
The rings can be programmed. They can be coded to the wearer to make them unusable if stolen.
Preset Conditions:
Commands can be stored in the ring to be executed later, even if the bearer is not wearing the ring.
Qhiassa can use the ring to fire blasts of yellow energy or create weapons such as projectiles.

Weakness
The greatest weakness of Fear is Hope. The transmission and power of one of Sinestro's rings can be significantly disrupted by the presence of a Blue Lantern Ring.
Abilities
Intimidation:
Her sheer size and alien appearance make it easy for Qhiassa to intimidate others. The Widow can quickly instil fear in all who see her, but most easily those who are victims of Arachnophobia.
Stealth
Despite her size, The Widow is surprisingly silent when moving, her eight legs having the potential to be near soundless, especially when using her webs.
One Most Glorious Web
As a spider, she is a weaver of webs and can construct elaborate traps using the material. Sometimes, they are almost impossible to detect until a victim enters them.
Manipulation
Qhiassa is dangerous if she can talk; her words are honey, and her voice can charm most unsuspecting victims, lulling them into false security. Her soft voice clashed with her monstrous form and personality.
Weapons/Items:
Yellow Lantern Ring
Yellow Power Battery
As a member of Sinestro's corp, Qhiassa has a Power Battery shaped like an old-fashioned lantern, which she can use to recharge her ring. It is generally kept safely stored away within her webbings, out of sight, and guarded by a large brood of her most ferocious children. Unlike the ring, Power Batteries do not need to be recharged.
Appearance
Physical Appearance:
Qhiassa is a creature from the Negative Zone; as such, she is a beast of the negative energies found there. She is a spider whose size largely depends on the amount of fear she has consumed, but on average, she is roughly eight feet long and seventeen feet across. She is black, with several eyes and one glowing dot in each, like stars trapped in several endless voids. Unless she is tapping into her Lantern Powers when her eyes start to glow with the terrifying yellow light of her Master's Corp. Her massive legs are covered in coarse hair, the sharpness of barbs, and mandibles that can easily crush and slice. Most of her body is also covered with weird-growing plants and mushrooms infused with the power of the Yellow Lantern Ring; they glow with the same sickening light as her eyes. Her abdomen is bulbous and generally filled with her eggs, for whenever she sees fit, she makes a lair for herself and lays them.
Personality
Sexual Orientation:
Heterosexual (For The Widow, one marriage is never enough, and its only purpose is to make offspring)
General Personality:
To call The Widow a beast would be accurate and inaccurate; she is a creature as complex as simple. She is, in many ways, a beast, eating her mates without a second thought once their duty has been fulfilled. She is a patient, ruthlessly efficient hunter who has no remorse for what she has done nor reflects much on what she will do. Not even her children are important enough for her to care about them as more than canon-fooder if she doesn't eat them outright before they have the time to become a legitimate threat. But they are still her offspring. So, she has very high expectations of them, and failure is not tolerated. Like any mother, she does have her favourites, which tend to change as quickly as they are born.
One of her few "positive" traits is loyalty. She has been intensely loyal to Thaal Sinestro since he recruited her during his time in the Negative Zone. For Qhiassa, Sinestro's vision for the Universe is just, and his plans for order are to be admired and encouraged, if not celebrated. The Widow is one of Sinestro's cruellest Lanterns, always eager to inflict fear and torment on their enemies. If anything, she enjoys feeding on the fears of mortals, seeing those who fall victim as unworthy and weak. The Universe has two kinds of life: hunters... and prey.
So, she is far from a mindless beast; she can be very manipulative, well-spoken, and faux-affable, even using her telepathic speech to lull victims into a false sense of security. Towards those who have only heard the voice, she can be disarming, charming and seemingly lovely with a voice as smooth as butter. The best fear is the one where hope dies!
She is a deadly predator who primarily hunts for food, even more so if she can cause enough fear in her prey before feasting. Her kind is intimately familiar with spreading fear because fear makes for the best flavour booster. The Widow manipulates her prey by promising them what they want, but she can also determine their psychological fears and utilize them to provoke or cow.
Her monicker of The Horror of Ages is more than earned.
Face/Voice:
Scarlett Johansson
Anything Else
Qhiassa generally has three different voices that she can use; the first is a soothing female voice, which she uses typically when trying to lure in prey; the second is a monstrous one she uses when angered, deep the point of demonic, and then there is her "average" voice, which is a combination of both the female and the monstrous, with the female in front and the monster ever present in the background, like a resounding echo slightly out of sync.
Character's History
Siblings:
Numbering in the several thousand
Mother:
Mother Hetharzer (Deceased)
Father:
Uknown
Other Family:
She has an uncountable number of children and several mates, which she usually devours after mating. The children are fiercely loyal to Qhiassa but tend to compete for their Mother's affection, wishing to be the current "favourite." Qhiassa is an uncaring, hands-off sort of mother, viewing her children less as individuals and more as how useful they can be.
History:
Daughter of Mother Hetharzer
Life in negative zone is not easy; being part of the antimatter universe is a struggle in and of itself. Good is Bad, Bad is Good, Positive is Negative. The other side of the coin is reality. Many creatures live here, some more terrifying than others, and some of these creatures, much like the arachnids in regular space, can be found here. Qhiassa was born to a particularly nasty spider, Mother Hetharzer, the progenitor of her kind, born from antimatter at the beginning of time, birthed from the primal fear living things had for spiders, or so the stories tell. What was certain, however, was that her mother was a fearsome creature of enormous size with an appetite to go with it. Many lost their lives, victims in her lair, and her cunning and ruthlessness, something she passed on to her offspring, perhaps Qhiassa, most of all.
Yet, Hetharzer was not satisfied where she was, and there were more out there, more to eat and devour.
Regular space ended up being her goal. She got her wish, breaking out of negative space and ending up in an unsuspecting world. She made for herself a lair, slaughtering several million before word of her presence reached the Guardians of the Universe on their planet of Oa. What followed was a war between Mother Hetharzer and the Green Lantern Corp. The one leading the attack was a very powerful Lantern named Thaal Sinestro. The battle was long, and the destruction so terrible that it caused the planet where it happened to become little more than a dead wasteland, Mother Hetharzer having drained it of life in her effort to fight back.
Still, in the end, she could not overcome the Lantern's weapons of light, and least of all, someone with such power as Sinestro. Qhiassa had watched the battle but, unlike several of her siblings, never attempted to join in or come to the defence of their mother. If anything, her siblings were fools to remain loyal, even more so when it was clear she would lose in the end. No, what she did was bide her time and watch patiently...
Qhiassa was ever an opportunist, so when Mother Hetharzer retreated to Negative Zone, badly wounded, her daughter saw her chance and attacked her mother. Taken by surprise and injured, the mother did not stand much of a chance and died that day. Qhiassa drank deep of her mother's lifeblood, and now... she was the Matriarch. Qhiassa had learned much from her mother, but the most important thing was the true nature of life: only the strong survive, and if you were not a predator, you would be prey.
And Qhiassa was NOT anyone's prey!
The Horror of Ages
With her mother out of the way, Qhiassa could finally make a name for herself. Not as big as her mother, but just as, if not more cunning. For several years, she resided close to the opening into Regular Space, making a labyrinth of webs within a network of caves to better trap her prey, including all creatures great and small. She feasted primarily on those who wandered into her webs, though if a particularly juicy morsel were available, she would silently pursue and kill it.
As times passed, the people in the Negative Zone came to know her as The Horror of Ages, along with other titles, such as The Matriarch or Qhiassa the Widow.
Her brood began to grow too, and with time, she had and continues to have, several mates with children to follow, her clutches of eggs being tended to by their older siblings whenever she was not there. However, as she grew her army of children, she grew listless, bored, and with the same desire her mother had. The creatures of Regular Space were so much more delicious, succulent, and juicy.
Yet, the knowledge of the Green Lanterns gave her pause. She was not going to make her mother's mistake. No, she needed to do it right if she wanted to do it.
The Sinestro Corp
Her prayers were answered upon the arrival of a man from regular space, one she recognized as the creature that had once laid low her mother. Sinestro had been banished to the Negative Zone by the Guardians of the Universe and found an entirely new power source: Fear. Thaal sought Qhiassa out due to her reputation and because he was familiar with the ferocious nature of her kind, especially after his encounter with Qhiassa's mother.
Having seen the power of the Green Lanterns and their rings, Qhiassa was in awe at the sheer power Sinestro could harness from her victims with his Yellow Ring, their terror and fear turning into power for him to use. To say that she was smitten by Sinestro would be an understatement. She had no such capacity for carnal love; it was beneath her to have such base emotions. No, she saw perfection, order, and power that day.
She had seen the future and wanted to make his dream come true.
He valued the power of spreading fear and knew how to turn it into power. In turn, Sinestro saw that Qhiassa had overcome great fears herself. She was part of a species that regularly abused one another, where the strong prospered and the weak were devoured. The fact that Qhiassa had survived and risen above so many of her kind was a testament to her abilities; all this Sinestro saw great potential in.
When Sinestro offered her a place in his new corp and a part in bringing the Guardians of the Universe to their knees, she wholeheartedly accepted. "In Blackest Day, in brightest night; Beware your fears made into light. Let those who try to stop what's right. Burn like his powers... Sinestro's MIGHT!" She became one of Sinestro's most loyal and ruthless followers.
Her mother's mistake, her considerable powers in mind, was that she did not have allies on the other side, but Qhiassa had Sinestro... which was such a stroke of irony that one had to laugh.
She ventured with Sinestro to the world of Qward, where Qhiassa built her new underground lair, building a massive labyrinth of webs of the same kind she had before.
Making preparations for the Invasion that was bound to happen.
The Guardians torn from their lofty abode.
And Fear reign supreme.
