Elyssa listened heartily as Yugo spoke. He was proud and energetic and just adorable. She let out a little giggle as he said being a mayor was sorta like being a dad for the whole town. "Yeah, you can tell 'e is more suited for takin' care 'o people than bounty 'untin'". When Yugo asked if she was the princess, she let out a full laugh, a bubbly, lovely sound. "Aaaw, you're just a little charmer aren't you?", she said with a smirk. "Callin me a princess an' all. For the record though, I'm not. She's a little taller than me and a blonde but I'm prettier by far, not that she's ugly or anythin'. I've never met the lass, only seen drawins' and such. Of course I could be usin' magic to disguise my appearance if I -was- the princess, and I'd probably put on a whacky accent or somethin' so nobody would expect anythin'", she said shooting Yugo a sly little wink. It wasn't very nice of her to mess with him, but it was funny and he was adorable. "What do -you- think?", she asked.

Yugo's eyes narrowed more as Elyssa continued talking. It would make sense that adding an accent would make it less likely that people would find out who you were. "I think you're just messing with me," he replied after a few seconds. "You don't seem to know what happened in this village, and Dad did send a message to the capital; I doubt the princess herself would answer that herself or that her father would have sent her alone."At this point, Alibert appeared, carrying a steaming bowl of stew, some healthy slices of freshly baked bread, butter, a nice piece of cheese, and some excellent beer to go with it. "Here you go, Miss Elyssa," he said with a grin, putting the food on the table before her. "My famous Gobball Stew, on rice. Nothing better to warm you up after a long day on the road, there is more in the kitchen should you want a refill." Yugo watched Elyssa, waiting to see if she would like the food. He knew she would, but he was always nervous there might be someone who did not like the stew.

Elyssa inhaled deeply, smelling the food. She had to stop herself from outright just drooling, almost slobbering at the smell. "..Bloody 'ell...", she mumbled. Raising her gaze to look at Alibert. "..And a refill too if I want? I could kiss you, mate", she said before grabbing her spoon and digging in. After just a few bites, she leaned back in the chair and let out a groan of joy. "Blimey... that's incredible..". Taking a swig of the beer as well, it was clear that to Elyssa this was way better than any royal feast. She had had her share of nobles buying her fancy dinners and fine wines, but rustic home cooking made with love was completly and utterly unbeatable, and each bite was almost heaven.

" And since you've got time to sit around, you have time to do some of your chores, young man," Alibert said with a slight grin, handing his son a broom. Yugo glared at him, but then he sighed, "Yes, Dad," he replied and started sweeping the dining area. Still, he continued to watch to see if Elyssa liked the food, and he tried to do so in a not-too-obvious way, making a terrible job of it.
He brightened visibly when the bard mentioned it was incredible.
Of course, he knew the food was incredible, so he was not worried. Not really, but maybe just a little. It was not enough to mention out loud, but it was nice that she liked it. "I like to dip some of the bread in the stew," he noted, sweeping up some dust from under a nearby table. "Soaks up the stew and makes it an explosion of flavour, even better with some cheese with it."

Listening to Yugo's advice about dipping the bread into the stew, Elyssa decided to follow his instructions and tried it, with some cheese. The sigh she let out was that of someone's very soul being touched by the flavour gods. Wolfing down her meal she was less elegant than her usual self but somehow she managed to still look pretty while doing so.
As she finished her meal, she leaned back in her chair and let out a heavy sigh followed by a little burp, giggling and blushing as a response. "By the Triforce... That 'it the spot..", she mumbled. Getting up from her chair, she walked over to Alibert. "Thanks for the meal, luv, I wouldn't mind seconds, but mind packin' it up so I 'ave it for the road, please?". Her smile widened as she got even closer to Alibert. He was a handsome man and an incredible cook. A girl could settle for someone like him and they'd be set for life! Elyssa was not the kind of person to settle, though, free spirit as she was.
"For a meal tha' incredible, I'll put on the performance of a lifetime as a thanks! When the sun sets, I'll throw you all a show your grandchildren will speak of!". She grabbed Alibert by his moustache and gave him a big 'ol kiss on the cheek, leaving a violet lipstick mark behind. "Consider tha' a personal token 'o appreciation. Now, I'll go get me stuff for the show!", she said with a flirtatious wink, playfully running two fingers along Alibert's chest. As she spun around to leave, humming contentedly, she stopped by where Yugo was sweeping the floor. "An' you, mr.gentleman, thank you for all your 'elp", she said, grabbing Yugo's head and planting a kiss on his forehead. With her belly full and her spirit renewed she headed outside to her wagon to grab all the supplies she'd need for her performance. A meal to renew the spirit and then music to renew the soul? Truly she lived the best life.

Alibert and Yugo had very different reactions to what had just happened. Alibert did not blush as much and gave a small chuckle after receiving a kiss. "Glad to hear it, Miss Elyssa. I'm certain the people of Hateno will be very pleased with the performance and anything that attracts customers." he said, watching as she walked away before returning to work at the counter. Yugo's cheeks did turn a deep shade of red upon being kissed on the forehead, and he almost dropped the broom, but he managed to keep it with some blessing from the gods.
Yugo watched Elyssa walk outside, and that's when he remembered: "Az, we forgot to talk to her about the monster," the little tofu in his pocket peeked out. "Should we ask her now, or maybe wait until later?" The little bird made a few sounds that could have meant anything. "True, maybe it's best to talk about something serious like that later..."
Yeah, it was maybe best not to bring it up now; her presence made everyone happy, and Yugo would not want to ruin that by bringing up the weird monster again. His hand went to the black shard still tucked away inside one of his pockets; he felt the smooth material against his thumb.

The only stuff Elyssa really needed to grab was some things to use for fire-breathing and some other props, the rest was up to her magic and skills with instruments, and of course her two greatest assets: Her charisma and flair. She took a quick nap out in the wagon, her hat pulled down over her eyes, and when she woke up she stretched like a cat with a little groan, rolled to her feet and headed back inside. She looked around for Alibert and when she saw him, she approached with a kind maybe even slightly inviting smile, but then again that was Elyssa's most common smile. "Sorry to bother ya again, mate. The show's comin' up, but I'd like to freshen up a bit first, is there a room I can use for the night? 'S much as I like bein' on the road, gotta look your best for the audience, yeah?". Still a bit amused by how smitten Yugo was by her, she looked around and when she spotted him, she giggled. "Maybe Yugo can show me the way there?", she suggested.

"Yes, of course," Alibert replied, smiling back as he turned and collected a key from among those of the different rooms. "Here you go," He handed the key to her. His eyes wandered to the son, cleaning off some of the tables where customers had been eating, piling the plates before bringing them to the kitchen. "Yugo, can you show Miss Elyssa to room 9?"
Yugo stopped, shifting the grip on the plates as his eyes moved between his father and Elyssa. "Sure thing, Dad. Let me just put these into the kitchen." That last was aimed at Elyssa; he walked out back, putting the pile of plates into the water to soak before returning. "This way, all the rooms are on the second floor." He started walking up the stairs, keeping an eye to avoid walking too far ahead of the bard. "So, you've seen a lot of things, right?" he asked as they walked. "Out there, in the world, I mean."

Elyssa took the key from Alibert with an elegant curtsey, "Thanks, luv", she said, blowing him a kiss as she followed Yugo up the stairs, almost skipping as she went, as her mood was fantastic at the moment. When the young eliatrope asked her if she had seen the world, she gave him a wink. "You betcha, Yugo! It's what I do. I travel the world and experience whatever I come across". She tilted her head slightly, curious where he was going with his question. "The things I've seen out there could fill a book. Such is the life of a Bard. Anyways, was there anythin' in particular you were wonderin' about?".

Yugo was silent before looking behind them, checking if someone else was in hearing range before he looked at Elyssa. "A weird monster attacked the town not long ago; it did not look like anything I had seen before; it was a feral beast that none of us had seen before." Yugo explained, "Made a big mess before we could defeat it, and sadly it just vanished... so there wasn't a body left... just smoke and the buildings it damaged. Az and I did find this small piece of black metal." He pulled out a shard of metal from his pocket, and it had what looked like part of a symbol, but it wasn't easy to make out entirely. "It gives me the shivers holding it, but I don't know why..."
He stopped as they reached the door. "Here's your room, Miss Elyssa," Yugo said, tapping the door. "Make yourself at home; most of the regulars tend to be here once they're done working, so you should have time to settle in."

Studying the metal shard Yugo pulled out, Elyssa had to disappoint. She gave Yugo and apologetic smile. "I'm sorry, luv, I don't recognize this one. Tha' symbol could be somethin', but I can't make it out". Reaching the room, Elyssa gave Yugo a hug. "Thanks, mate. I'm sorry I can't 'elp you with that fragment, but 'ow 'bout this? After my performance, I'll take a be'er look at it, an' maybe see if I can jog the ol' noggin'", she said, tapping the side of her head. She waved goodbye to him and headed inside the room.
Once inside, she let out a sigh and walked directly over to the bed and lay her things down on it. She freshened up and switched from her traveling outfit to her performance one. Her performance skirt was even a bit shorter than the one she sometimes traveled in, but it was on purpose to increase her allure. After her show, everyone would have her name on their lips and desire her, and they would be so dazzled by her performance they'd talk of it for generations to come. The whirlwind of freedom, music and sensuality that was Elyssa Oakbranch would sweep over Hateno, and leave behind her people who would miss her, even yearn for her, but remember her music fondly.

"Oh," Yugo deflated slightly. "I see, well it was worth a try." He said; he accepted the hug but did not blush this time. He did perk up slightly when she said she would look closer at it after her performance; maybe she just needed to give it a good thing. Like sleeping on it or, in her case... singing on it. "Thanks, Miss Elyssa." He said before going back down the corridor, waving at her before going down the stairs two steps at a time. Only when he reached the bottom, he remembered he should have asked if she knew anyone else who also made portals as he did.
"She settled in, ok?" His father asked as Yugo returned, walking past with two bowls of stew for some workers at a table.
"Yeah, she doesn't seem to have trouble settling in anywhere," Yugo replied brightly, "I'm going out to tell people we will have a famous bard performing this evening; see if I can rack the numbers up."
Alibert chuckled as he watched the son run out from the Inn.

Pulling out a brush, Elyssa sat down and ran it through her hair, watching herself in the mirror. By the Triforce she was hot! Smirking to herself, she thought on the people of Hateno. Alibert was a kind, handsome man that any gal would be happy with, and Yugo was a package full of energy, not unlike Elyssa herself when she was a kid. She took her sweet time combing her hair, reapplying makeup and just making herself more beautiful as the thoughts snuck their way into her mind. It was so unfair that kind, sweet people like these had to suffer monster attacks. Where were the heroes, the knights in shining armor to defend them? She hoped for someone like the Hero in Green, like many legends spoke of could sweep in and save the day, and also sweep Elyssa off her feet, she thought for herself with a little grin. It also bothered her that she didn't know what the monster shard thing was. It was the least she could do to help them. She'd check her book on monsters after the performance. While waiting for the evening to come so more people would be gathered in the tavern, she sat down on the bed, leaning against the wall and relaxed a little. She conjured her flute and played a little melody to clear her mind. She couldn't help but use her music to create the sound of accompanying instruments, so any other guests up by the rooms probably got a little preview of her talent. The music she played was partly for herself, to cope with the dark, dangerous and scary things roaming Hyrule, but without music the land, no, the world would be a much darker place and Elyssa did what she did to spread her little glimmer of hope and joy wherever she could. Finishing up her melody and holding back tears (as to not ruin her carefully applied makeup), she instead conjured her accordion and began playing more energetic, dance-y tunes to pump herself up. The time for her performance was coming, and her mood was rising rapidly. "Cmon, luv, go out there 'an wow'em", she said to herself, throwing herself a kiss in the mirror.

After Yugo finished spreading the word to the locals, he returned to help his father prepare for what he foresaw was that evening's rush of customers. He helped Alibert clean up in the dining area, collected dirty dishes, and prepared more stew and other food items that would be needed, such as cheese, fruit, sausages, and other vegetables. To his mind, they made food fit for kings and queens!
"I've got a feeling this will be a great evening!" Yugo said as he stirred the large pot of stew in the kitchen. Alibert looked up from cutting vegetables and smiled at the son. "That's great to hear, son; let's just hope it won't get too rowdy." He replied. "I'm sure its going to be fine, people aren't that rowdy in this town."
As evening rolled around, people started showing up, mostly workers from the local fields and businesses that often came anyways, but also some of the other citizens who were just attracted by the prospect of a good show, and just those in general that had never seen a bard before... and some who did not even know what a bard was in the first place. It's some new modern big city thing, no doubt.
It did not take long before Yugo was very busy, running back and forth from the kitchen with bowls of stew while his father focused on speedily preparing the portions. It was good they had prepared in advance, or this would have taken ages. Now everyone got their stews on time. Yugo did not mind the hard work; nothing worth it was ever easy.

The bard extraordinaire headed down from her room, her accordion strapped around her and ready to go. As she came down to the main area, staying just out of sight, she took a deep breath and tried channeling her magic. She felt her arms and legs tingle as magic flowed through her. She was ready. It was time to dazzle and amaze! With a small smile, she fueled her magic to increase the volume of her music so it sounded over the din of the crowded dining hall as she began. With no introduction or anything, Elyssa came half-dancing, half-skipping into the dining area, the tunes of her accordion bouncing through the halls just as she did. She whirled and twirled, her short skirt whirling around her in a tantalizing manner as she winked and smiled flirtatiously to people around. It was clear that her music was conveying that everyone here was in for a good time, whether they wanted to bask in her beauty or dance to the music, this was a place where sadness and grief had no place, or at least not right now, such songs were included in the program though, as Elyssa wanted to take the guests through the whole emotional spectrum. To add fuel to the fire, she channeled more of her magic and those privy to see such things would notice a teal glow around her, not unlike that of her clothes and hair. She finished her first melody up on the stage of the dining hall by stepping up onto one of the tables, leaping and ending with an elegant flip, landing on her feet and holding her hat out in a sort of 'tadaa'!-kind of manner. People had fallen silent during her little introduction. Some of the younger men and women were looking at her, wide-eyed, as if they had seen a visage of true beauty and could barely believe their eyes, as if some sort of otherworldly fey creature had wandered in. Others had lost themselves in the music, clapping along to the merry tunes. The energy in the room was now electric, everyone was alive and at attention. A smattering of applause followed, and Elyssa grinned. "Thank you, people of Hateno!", she began. "I'm Elyssa Oakbranch, a wanderin' bard and entertainer! Surely young Yugo 'as told you all about me. You are all in for a night of entertainment and music like you've never experienced! There will be song, there will be dance, not just from me but you are free to dance too! It will be fun, it will be a li'le sad, as sadness is a feelin' we need to acknowledge. Overall though, it'll be a good time, a bit cheeky and maybe even a bit sensual", she said, putting on a very suggestive, inviting smile and winking in a manner that spread a sea of blushing among the crowd, almost as if the bard had walked out into the crowd and given them all a sensual kiss. She quickly dropped the expression and let out a giggle. "Don't worry though people, there will be more family-friendly entertainment as well! For example, there will be legendary stories, a puppet show, and I will even breathe fire!", she said, followed by an 'ooo' from the children in the crowd. She shook her head at the silliness of it all before her expression changed into one of sadness. When she spoke she focused on speaking without her accent for the time being, as she often did when telling stories or singing so people could understand her better. "But first, let us acknowledge something sad. I heard your village was recently attacked by a terrifying monster. I'm so sorry to hear that. It breaks my heart that such lovely, homely people have to suffer such terrible fates". She snapped her fingers and the accordion around her torso disappeared and was replaced by a flute. "This next little melody is my lament for your suffering. Feel free to hug those sitting next to you, it is okay to cry. For this fleeting moment we shall let all the grief and sadness out of our system so that we can then focus on the fun again afterwards". Her tone was more somber than her usual, cheery demeanor as she put the flute to her lips and played a melody that put all her grief and empathy into it. All around the dining area people had different reactions. Some cried at the sound of the sad tunes, letting out the pent up grief over the attack, others closed their eyes with a content expression on their face, as it felt good to just let their sorrows drown in the music. Regardless of their reactions, there was a gasp among the crowd as ghost-like illusory images of Elyssa suddenly appeared here and there in the crowd. They hugged those who were crying, who would feel as if a warm wave of kindness washed over them, they made silly grimaces for the sad children to make them feel better, and she just sat in silence with those who needed a moment to reflect. This was Elyssa at her best, at her true power. She could not fly, teleport cities to the other side of the world, throw fireballs and level continents and cities with her mind or any such superhuman thing so many heroes of legend could. When it came to fighting and adventuring, Elyssa was decent at best. But this, stirring people's hearts and emotions and making them forget their worries, helping them heal and move on, and then bringing them back to a good place with roaring laughter and fun, while putting her very heart and soul into her performances, this was Elyssa Oakbranch's true might.
