Music blasting from Weld's room was nothing out of the norm; he tended to have music playing in one form or the other at all times of the day, be it from the stereo in his room or the headset that rarely left his head/shoulders. For him, music was food; he did not need to eat, so he spent the stipends he got to collect more music; as such, he was among the Champions with perhaps the most extensive physical collection of music and several different modes of playing them. Getting some free time, Weld had decided to take a closer look at the old Jukebox he had accidentally found at a junkyard during a mission into a weird cult. Dressed in a tank top and shorts, the metallic hero was sitting crossed-legged, examining the different parts of the Jukebox before glancing at a video he had running on the laptop. One of the walls in his room was dominated by a massive shelf with nothing but CDs and LP records. Other than that, there was a desk and bed made from the old tiers of a tractor, with several sturdy pillows. He had an old LP player next to the massive stereo blasting Lordi. The walls were also covered in posters from some of his favourite bands, and a wardrobe contained t-shirts from those bands. Weld's room also visibly lacked anything outright metal because he had this habit of accidentally absorbing metallic objects in his sleep if they were too close, and he had already lost a few keys that way. "Well, the video made this look a lot easier..." he muttered, rubbing the back of his neck, wearing thick gloves... just to be safe...

It wasn't hard to miss Weld's room, especially when it constantly blared music from within. Gwen didn't mind, of course. Her own room here at the Arc was just the same. She couldn't help being attracted to it, though, like a moth to a musical flame.
Gwen popped her head round just as Weld was examining his jukebox. She grinned at the sight, knocking on the open door.
"Hey, can I, like, come in? I couldn't help but hear your tunes, me and everyone else in the Arc."
She was smiling jovially, a light teast at the large metal boy. Gwen was trying to be a better teammate, to persist with being friends outside of their missions. Batsy had taught her the important of that, in her own way. Gwen slipped inside, leaning against the wall. A band t-shirt advertised the grinning graffiti face of Blink-182, and she stuck a hand in the pocket of her jeans while spinning a headphone in the other.
"That's a sweet jukebox! Do you need, like, a hand, or whatever?"

Weld peeked out from behind the Jukebox, quickly taking in the visitor with his silvery eyes before breaking into a bright grin. "Yo!" He greeted her with a wave. "Of course, mi casa es su casa." He did not seem to be very apologetic about everyone hearing the music; it was sweet tunes; if anything, they should be happy that he was sharing it. Sharing is caring and all that. "Make yourself at home; there is some coke in the minifridge; I don't drink it, but it seems hospitable to have... you know, in case a friend stops by."
He continued to poke around inside the Jukebox.
"Oh yes, she's a real beauty, right? Found her on a mission; some cultists rammed me with their car and sent me flying into a pile of junk, found her there." He shot Gwen one of his charming movie star grins. "I could not leave such a lovely lady abandoned, so I decided to fix her up so we can all enjoy some sweet old-time music... some nice old records still on this thing." He paused, holding a cable and examining the laptop screen. " Maybe? Do you know anything about electronics and old machines? I'm working off YouTube."

"Yo!"
Gwen reciprocated the greeting with a grin. Almost immediately, she moved to the fridge; it was sugar, and she took all the calories she could. She opened up a can with a pop and a fizz, drinking the good sugary, calory-heavy liquid with gusto.
"Yeah, it's so cool! I mean, like, I know vinyl is back in style, but this is something else! So totally extra, in, like, a totally cool way."
Gwen moved to the jukebox, peering in the top at the old records. Some she recognised, some she didn't, but they all looked interesting. Then she poked her head around the back, blonde hair dangling down as she stared nearly upside down at the innars of the device.
"I mean, I'm like, basically a scientist, so it should overlap, right? What are you struggling with? I've built a few weird devices in my time, so, like, I bet I can help."

Weld chuckled at her comment; he could not deny it was something extra.
"I think that word you're looking for is vintage," he said with a wink. "I like vintage, even if the clothes are... not for me. One of the downsides of having a metal body is that things tend to break if they are not durable enough. Wear and tear is horrible." He laughed and did not seem very upset by this fact. "Not that I mind much; I'm set as long as I got some sweet tunes."
He looked up at Gwen as she was peeking into the jukebox.
"Well, I'm trying to get it to... start; it can play music fine, but it's the part that moves the records that are not working." He explained. "It won't move them into place, so I'm trying to figure out why. Made more complicated since, well, I don't want to accidentally touch anything metal inside with my skin, or-- well, you know what happened to the pizza cutter..."

"That's it! Vintage. I'm a big fan of that whole vibe. I listen to a lot of music from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and the 90s. You know, all those super old decades. The clothes are, like, very dope. I owned a David Bowie style jacket once. I miss it a lot."
Gwen sighed, reminiscing as she poked her nose deeper into the dukebox, frowning as she looked at the collection of wires and mechanisms.
"Hmm... alright. Can I see the video? I can, like, touch all this stuff, so we can work together! That way, we don't have to mourn the loss of another pizza cutter."
Gwen looked at Weld with a grin and a wink.
