Identity: Cat Scratch
Gender: Male
Age: 15
Date of Birth: 8/17
Place of Origin: Tokyo, Japan
Occupation: Student, Hero course
Faction: U.A. Class 1-A
Appearance
Visual Appearance:
Physical Appearance: At 5' 7" and around 120 lbs, Atsushi sits just on the fence of underweight. His white hair is almost mop like with how it hangs, and his eyes are a rather strange purple and yellow mix. His complexion is rather pale but he does at least present as clean. He still has a bad habit of, if he is not paying attention, he ends up slouching a fair bit, as if wanting to make himself smaller and less noticeable.
Civilian Clothes: Outside of his school uniform his attire can seem a bit old fashion. He tends towards white buttoned shirts, black short pants with suspenders, and rather simple black shoes. One might even call it 'newsies' like.
Hero Outfit: A rather straight forward, white, zentai suit. Specifically requested to restrain and tighten to keep his body from growing too much. The designers were, fairly certain the boy got over excited or mixed up, and made sure it would allow for rapid growth and expansion of limbs, with some rapid tightening tech for when it shrinks back down. He also went with a rather plane helmet that covers his head and a thick visor over his eyes. He would have gone for a full face cover, but he had tried that before as a child. He does not have the lungs needed to truly be a suit actor.
Personal Life
Mother: Nobuko Shachihoko, alive, 55 years old, Quick: Peek-a-Boo (by covering her face with her hands, she can freely change what her face will look like when pulling her hands back, for up to 3 minutes. The changes can range from changing eye or hair color, to animals, to completely fictional characters. Though due to some legal issues back in her 30s, she only does fictional characters at home)
Father: Osamu Shachihoko, alive, 56 years old, Quick: Rug (able to rapidly produce and then expel carpet fiber like hair from his whole body. Makes a small living by sewing the fibers together and selling them to very niche customers)
Siblings: None
Extended family: None of note or that he knows of
Quirk
Quirk Type: Transformer
Fighting Style: At the moment he mostly fights untransformed, only really using his transformed right arm as a bludgeon, either simply swinging it at obstacles, or putting himself behind it for defense. Otherwise it's a mix of martial arts he's learned from actual classes, and mimicking moves from tv and movies.

Personality
Bad Habits: Often one to overthink small exchanges, no matter how small or neutral. Not the greatest sleep schedule or healthiest sleep arrangement. Often mistakes his want to help as untamed animal instant, meaning he will put effort into not simply jumping in to things first. Does not do a GREAT job of holding down those 'untamed animal instincts' so often finds himself mid-leap into danger before actually thinking about what he should do. Beyond self doubt, he grew up with a sense of self-distrust. Overly cynical about the nature of the Hero system and hero focused society.
Goal:
Wants: 'Conquer' his quirk and his 'wild untamed animal instincts'. Never fully transform. Just get through hero school, get proper training for controlling his quirk, and quietly fade into the background and get a job not being a hero
Needs: Proper understanding of his quirk. Confidence and training to better control it the more he transforms. Confirm that he is not secretly a tiger with a 'transform into a human' quirk.
General Personality: There are generally three pillars that make up Atsushi's personality; Cynicism, Caution, and Anxiety. He goes mean well, and wants to do right, one can only guilt themselves into a hero course so long without actual interest in being a hero. However, due mostly to his early childhood amnesia shortly after his quirk first fully manifested and the fall out from that, he's had difficulty really acting on such wants. Many things that come naturally for others, love or want of love from their parents, second nature trust in their own powers, they all come harder for Atsushi. This has led him to question more taken for granted, but also subconsciously a little resentful to people without such problems. Those unworried about their quirks and body. And, as a child is often one to assume, this has brought him to odds with the educational system once enrolled in UA.
He is also, still, a bit a of a penny pincher. While his parents have enough income to be self efficient, they aren't by any stretch well off. And given the 15 years of certainty that he was a danger to himself and others, Atsushi has learned how to go without the newest tech, or hippest accessories, as well as how to get what you need for less then the tag says. Would never resort to straight out theft, however his willingness to haggle or twist someone's arm for a bargain is often accused as close enough to it. This can also come out in the form of just, taking on smaller temp jobs, when need call for it. He may haggle, he can cheap out, he might gripe over every yen spent, but that money will always be his own.
Despite all his cynical, other thinking, mistaking himself as more mature nature, however, he is still a fan of heroes fictional and real. He did, after all, grow up on action series and the same exploits of heroes as any other kid with a quirk. He is much more quiet about his fandom knowledge though, less just out and out fan-ing out about top heroes exploits, but keeping track enough to know how hard it would be to get merch of a certain hero. And his love for all these, also tie in to a deeply hidden grain dorkiness. Deep down, while he knows that fiction is fiction and how real life doesn't have a pre-written script, there's a part of him that just, will readily think of, and wish for, things to turn out just like in fiction. This is even more true, given what turned him around about his quirk and family.

History: The first clear memory Atsushi had, he was laying in a hospital bed, head bandages around his head, looking up at a tv. An old tape of some action show playing. He barely even noticed the adult sleeping in a chair next to their bed, as Atsushi found himself humming along with the insert song. It was another 10 days before he recovered enough to go home with the adults he was told were his parents. He had suffered a dangerous blow to his head, and suffered memory loss in the process. He, as well as a 4 year old could, understood what the doctors tried to explain to him and his parents, but that didn't undo it's effects. And once he was finally home, and watching all his favorite old tapes, it just left him with more questions. There were plenty of stories where people lost their memories, or their minds were lost, but they were brought back, some times magically, all because deep down they remembered their loved ones... So why doesn't he? Why can't he so deeply, instinctively remember his own parents? These thoughts lingered with him for roughly a year.
He was up earlier then he meant to, his parents we still asleep as well, so he had the TV all to himself. He turned it on to look for one of his favorite shows, landing on the news. It was a story remembering the death of a police person a year ago. She died, mauled by some strange white tiger that went on a rampage. And as they showed a still shot from the footage of the tiger, Atsushi felt his hand reaching out to it, in the same way a cat might when first faced with their reflection... His parents ran into the living room, having heard the crash coming from it, and found their child, arm through the tv screen, and his arm covered, instead of burns, with thick white fur, and in place of cuts, black strips all along it. Atsushi was completely confused by, all of this. Why did his arm became like the tiger on tv? Why were his parents, not mad, but sad and scared? Why did he reach for the tv? At least the question 'what was happening?', was soon answered that day. His parents explained quirks to their son, and they explained, as best as they could to a 5 year old, about the story he just saw on the news. They explained how, they didn't want to just, throw all this at him, when he was still recovering, when things were still so confused. They told him that that day a year ago, was when he suffered amnesia. That this was the second time he had used his quirk. That... They couldn't continue the story, but Atsushi understood what was stopping them. He understood why they couldn't give voice to that truth, and why, he felt, he would have to hide his quirk from the world. As the three of them cried, and held each other for comfort from this truth, however, he misunderstood something important. He tried to tie these events, to why he felt so apart from his parents, why 'love' couldn't just magic his memories back. The next 10 years were going to be, much more of a strain then any child should face.
As the years passed, he presented as quirkless. And while this led to some bullying, he was fortunate in that the bullies got tired of picking on someone who barely reacted. However, it did give him an out for when people asked him why he was taking martial arts classes. What he wanted from it, was the, as shown in fiction, centerness and piece of mind... What he got was self defense learning and work out regiments. He tried to rationalize it as good enough. That strengthening his core would help prevent him transforming. He slowly started adding more and more to the training, even doing weekend jogs and rounds in a local gym. And then, one day, another shoe dropped. A classmate, on a dare to hold in his quirk for as long as he could, slightly exploded. The child was mostly fine at the end, but while the children who dared him were getting lectured, Atsushi's over thinking panic began to kick into overload. This led him to start adding quirk use into his semi-secret working out... Which itself leads to the grandson of the head of the dojo Atsushi went to finding out.
His parents faced the worst of it, really. As they officially registered his quirk, for over a month his parents got an ear full from every step of the ladder of registering. Long talks about the dangers involved in knowing a child had a quirk and not registering it with officials. Talks about the potential consequences, moral and legal, they could face. His parents telling them about the tiger incident, and the worry that people would associate the two... His parents lying for him, saying they were not connected, protecting him again... It working. Despite all the stresses, they were avoid to avoid any legal consequences for their actions, and Atsushi's quirk was registered as 'transforming one's arm'. What couldn't be avoided, however, was the social questions every kid with a quirk gets asked. 'So, going to try for a Hero high school?'. When he presented as quirkless, he didn't even need to dodge the question so much as be passed over. But now? That he has a quirk, a flashy one with offensive potential? Between his classmates, doctors and officials during the stressful month, and those at the dojo, there was not anywhere he could escape from the question. He couldn't just tell him what he really thought. 'How insulting. Thinking even a wild beast, thinking a monster that had killed before, could be a Hero'.
Well... one doesn't need be a 'hero' just cause they go to a hero school. He wasn't sure how he convinced himself to use THAT logic to end up applying to THE U.A. for it's hero course. None the less he found himself, there, ready to take the practical test with every other hopeful. Should be simple enough, he made sure to keep his cynicism out of the written test... mostly. Now he just needed to get villain points. Just, go in there, and crush whatever comes you way with the one claw. Can even test himself against the three pointers. 'Nothing wrong with knowing your upper limits, right?' he convinced himself. Would be, tricky, if he ran into a zero pointer but hey, no need to go out looking for them. Should be fine... Everything should be fine.
Name: Weretiger
Quirk Type: Transformer
Power: The ability to partly or fully transform into a unnaturally large white tiger with absurd physical strength. When he transforms from human to tiger, any wounds that part of his body had suffered heals through the process of transformation, and both the fur and body of the tiger is surprisingly tough. If transforming a sense organ (ears, nose, eyes), his senses are heightened as long as they are transformed, and he can also grow whiskers or a tail to improve his balance. His tail is also partly prehensile (not to the point of wrapping around objects to pick them up, but enough to bend enough to hold on to things, or be moved intentionally to push things over). He currently has the easiest time simply transforming one arm. The more parts are transformed at once, the more his mind also transforms into a wild creature, lost in the moment and finding it difficult to think beyond the current moment. If he does fully transform, he currently will stay in that form unless he gets exhausted, or knocked out, doing so will also make in unable to transform again for several hours.
Supermoves:
Nek-Ho-Ken (Cat-nnon Punch): A standard, weak looking human punch, leading to a rapid transformation at full extension, increasing the punch's range as well as the sudden force shock of the punch itself.
Drawbacks:The more parts of himself he transforms at once, the higher chance he will accidentally slip fully in to tiger form. In tiger form, he cannot speak, and runs on animal brain logic, reduced to mostly what strongest emotion is at play at the time, and action to action. Wounds he takes in tiger form do not heal when he transforms back. Even without fully transforming, if wounded while transformed the limb will not transform past the wound for several minutes, meaning it cannot just cycle between human and tiger to heal. His enhanced senses are also made more sensitive when partly transformed so sudden bright lights, or louder noises are more harmful for him.
