Ashes & Melancholy: First Movement - Nocturne
[bbvideo=560,315]https://youtu.be/EjGUBiKh4vs[/bbvideo]
The first few months after Sosuke Aizen's dissent proved to be the most difficult of Captain-Commander Genryusai Yamamoto's legendary tenure. With three well respected colleagues having abandoned their ranks, the adjutants of the Gotei 13 quickly grew apart. Talks of usurping the old man from his position invariably spread among his troops like a disease; when such words finally reached Yamamoto, he cracked a smile. Even when forced to their knees his dogs were still willing to fight. He immediately sent word to his most trusted acolytes of his intentions to replace Aizen, Gin, and Tousen by means of a tournament, and suggested that they prepare their choices for submission.
This same period of time proved more blissful for Ichigo and his friends. While life was never going to retain the same halcyon glow upon their return to Karakura Town, the subsequent cycle of fall and winter provided a sort of lull for them to enjoy their youth. Though still under the tutelage of Urahara, the group's inherent abilities had grown to such an extent that there was little left for the clever Shinigami to teach; much like the summer before, it was time for them to step up to the plate and control their own destiny. Keeping in mind what he'd been told about Aizen's exit from the Soul Society, Kisuke Urahara devilishly set his eyes on Hueco Mundo.
However, Urahara was not the only one to note the unique power beheld by Ichigo and his friends. Old enemies of the Gotei 13, Quincy whom had taken to shelter under the protection of the Catholic Church and serve the Church dutifully as exterminators of both Shinigami and hollow alike, dispersed a small group of hunters to Karakura Town. Over the course of eight months these Quincy studied every habit of the group before finally receiving their orders to destroy not only Ichigo and his friends, but the entirety of Karakura Town.
All of this, though, works in the favor of Sosuke Aizen, Nine months have passed since his chaotic exit - it would only seem fair for his return to be marked by an even greater opus of melancholy and death. His godlike ambitions have yet to waver, and upon summer's inevitable coronation Aizen intends on starting a war that will challenge the very existence of the universe itself.
