 s e l u R u l e s1: No Power Playing Self-explanatory. Your character’s not invincible no matter how strong you make them. They can take damage like everything else, so keep in mind that character’s limits. 2. No God-Modding Also self-explanatory. No matter how strong your character is, they can’t just go full Rambo and wreck the place, let alone go destroying all life in the multiverse. Again, keep in mind their limits. 3. Be Respectful Roleplaying is a hobby to some and a small-time career for others, in a way. Think about other people’s feelings on something before you talk to them. Basically, don’t be a douche. 4. Don’t be afraid to take initiative Ask people to play with you! There’s nothing wrong with being the first person to ask if anyone’s interested in playing. 5. Use Location Tags for threads People are going to want to know where your characters are in the thread, so it’s good to label the place your scene is located in the title. “[The Midway Restroom] I am Groot.” for example. 6. Is there a character limit? HELL NO! As long as you follow the standard rules of character creation, go nuts! Make a teacher, student, club representative, whatever! I only ask that you keep characters of high-powered races to a minimum as to keep things a little balanced around here. 7. 18+ Content on Discord ONLY This is a mandatory one. Full stop. While this is a mature roleplay and should be kept in mind, the really mature content in the roleplay will be put up on the Discord channel, so outside of that, keep things relatively tame. You’re allowed to curse on here and shed some blood, though, just remember your limits. 8. Talk to Mods as a Last Resort If there’s ANY trouble that’s beyond your control, talk to the Mods and see if there’s anything we can do to help you resolve these issues. 9. Finally, HAVE FUN! For several generations, Yokai Academy was the school necessary for monsters to be educated in adapting and living in peace with mankind, their realm and many others like it hiding away from human eyes. However, in the past few decades, some monsters have rebelled against the laws of the academy and made plans to simply live as their monstrous selves in the human world, some even banding into the infamous Bloodhound Initiative, an organization working to expose Yokai Academy and the many neighboring homelands to the eyes of the public, threatening to bring the world of monsters to a place that simply wasn't ready to accept them.
Before they knew it, even some humans discovered the existence of monsters in their world and worked hard to try to bring their likeness into the public eye.
To help keep the peace, the headmaster of the academy worked with many leaders in the homelands and devised an organization called The Cryptid Ministry, a large group of selected monsters that pledged their lives to keeping the balance between humans and monsters intact. They made hidden branches in many different regions of the world to keep an eye out for any rogue monsters that threaten the peace between their kind. Not only that, but some monsters have worked together with some humans that have discovered their kind, making teams and organizations of their own to help their people coexist in unique ways.
Now only time will tell if their worlds truly collide, as a new semester in the Academy begins...

 Monster World EVOLUTION
This is the more ambitious part of the roleplay, the part that grows with the characters you create. The Homeland template later down the guide is very important for this section.
Yokai Academy is the main section for sure, but there's something new that I wanted to put in to make things interesting for the realm that it’s in. Each monster character template will have an optional part to include a Homeland Template to the character, letting the person creating the character explain the place that student came from and how the culture works, adding more information to the Bite-Size Monster Encyclopedia the series had.
Basically, what I'm getting at is this: The Monster World expands with the monsters that you create!
Every new monster species that gets approved in the roleplay with a Homeland template included will, in turn, add a new part of the monster world for our classmates to explore, like unlockable zones in a video game. Each new Homeland will be able to be explored in threads that you can create in the Monster World forum outside Yokai Academy, giving the students a new area to hang out and interact in. Your characters can also visit their family members as well as have other misadventures in these worlds!
All of the approved Homelands will be put in a list that can be looked over by the roleplayers. All you have to do is pick one to visit and go from there! One important thing to remember is to use the [Homeland: This Location] insignia in the name of your thread to signify that this thread takes place in that homeland. Always remember that!
This encourages creativity when it comes to making a character as well as giving the lore of the roleplay itself the ability to grow along with the players that join it. And if there’s already a world for the species of monster you want to use for your character, then you can simply make your character with its family origin being from that section of the Monster World!
Expanding the lore of Rosario + Vampire never felt so fun!

 Bite-Sized Encyclopedia
In the world of Rosario + Vampire, there is a little booklet that’s gives you information on what kind of monsters live in this story. I’m sure you can read the title, right?
Well, this roleplay will be using monsters that are commonly used in the manga and anime, as well as some of the usual monsters you’d find out in fantasy worlds. It’s a pretty good list, and the thing about that is, that you can help update that list!
You’re allowed to make characters that are listed on the Bite-Sized Encyclopedia, as well as add some variation to how your monster’s powers work in this world. No two creatures in the same family are completely alike, after all. Also, you’re allowed to create new monsters that aren’t on the encyclopedia, and if they’re approved, their monster type gets added to the list for others to use in the roleplay!
Just another cool thing to have in the world surrounding Yokai Academy!
