"It matters not who you are or what manner of power you may possess. Before the power I wield, all beings are equal. Come. It is time that you too were reduced to naught but bones."
Name: Baraggan Louisenbairn
Gender: Male
Race: Hollow
Canon/OC: Canon
Visual Appearance:
Physical Description: When one has the privilege of seeing Baraggan Louisenbairn, they will likely immediately realize the force they're dealing with. He is a stocky, muscular man, tall enough to tower over most others, despite his general elderly appearance, largely evidenced by his white hair and moustache. Baraggan is blind in his right eye, his left eye revealing itself as olive green. Large scars on the left side of Baraggan's chin, reaching his neck and going across his right eye are the few marks of a man who has experienced more than most can imagine during their feeble lifetimes. Remnants of his Hollow mask form a five-pointed crown on his forehead and his Hollow hole is classically at the center of his chest.
While he was still the God-King of Hueco Mundo, Baraggan looked much like his Resurrección. The notable difference being his crown, which had four protrusions with the entire crown being elaborately engraved.
Clothing/Misc. Items: Baraggan's attire consists of a white leather coat with short sleeves and black fur lining the whole thing. Underneath he wears a white shirt with vertical stripes coming down to his belt line. Additionally, he wears golden wristbands along with a golden belt, which has three chains attached to a disk. The disk is engraved with a sun emblem. His entire look speaks of regality and is an echo of his previous position, something which Baraggan seldom lets anyone forget.
“An idiot cannot be cured of idiocy unless they die.”
- Japanese proverb
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Goals: Enact revenge on Aizen. Regain his title as God-King of Hueco Mundo. Exterminate any and all opposing forces.
General Personality:
Baraggan is a man who has had everything taken from him in the blink of an eye. From a god to a servant. And yet, he retains his prideful, egotistical personality. A regal man in his posture and being through and through, he freely imposes his supposed authority over his fellow Espada, despite being #2. The cruel humor of Sosuke Aizen. To Baraggan's benefit, the top Espada cares little, letting the previous God-King retain his illusion of power. The man sees everyone else as being beneath him, including his comrades, despite working with them and occasionally acknowledging their capabilities. Baraggan is no fool, yet is often blinded by his own ego to see the full picture. His perceived status is reinforced by the fact that Baraggan has his Fraccion carry his Zanpakuto and the throne of bones he sits on, never leaving it, unless necessary to go to battle himself.
Even if his pride and self-imposed importance get in the way, Baraggan is an exceedingly intelligent man, something his past accomplishments clearly display. As such, he carries himself with a terrifying lethality in the battlefield, rarely hesitating to show his power from the very beginning. His abilities make him someone who believes that he has the ultimate control over death, bragging about him being the one left standing in the very end, as he controls the very force of time and decay. Baraggan truly believes that he can never fully die.
And yet, for all his perceived calm fury that Baraggan typically portrays (even through the ego), he is a man who will easily fly into a fit of rage when outmatched, outsmarted or injured. The gall to hurt a god is something he will not let go unpunished. He is essentially a cornered animal then, striking out at whatever and whomever he sees, simply to show that he is strong. His ultimate point of folly is his everlasting grudge against Aizen. The man who served Baraggan the gravest of humiliations. His hatred runs deep and Baraggan will make sure to enact his revenge at some point.
"Kill them. Do not allow even a single one of these ants to escape with their life. If you lose here, there will be no place for you to return to. Do not disappoint me. Do not force me to walk a path not stained with the blood of my enemies."
History:
God of All, Ruler of Nothing
The everlasting nocturne of Hueco Mundo. Its bone-chilling breeze grazing the landscape of sand, stone and withered trees. A constant throughout eons, never changing. That was the land Baraggan Louisenbairn called his kingdom. One of the oldest beings to ever grace its ground, the Hollow barely remembered his beginnings. When he tried to recall, he quickly discarded the effort. Unimportant. He was never an ant like the rest of them. Gods do not need to remember their inception. They just are. And so he was. Ruling over the endless landscape of their world, in his castle with no roof. When everything your eye sees is yours, you need little more than a throne. The light of the crescent moon shone on all of his domain. An army of hundreds, all following his will without quarrel. They knew their place. Those who didn't submit, met a swift end. Few who recognized his status, but chose to not directly serve, were kept in the periphery, if they proved their strength. He had everything. Power without true equal. It was boring beyond measure.
Nothing to conquer, no enemy to vanquish. The same horizon, the same throne, the same army. Forcing his army to fight one another provided a miniscule amount of entertainment until the expected lull set in once again. Time had little meaning to one who controlled it, yet it made its slow passing excruciatingly clear. Forever was a word most found incomprehensible. But Baraggan was going to find out that it could be more finite than expected.
The King's Folly
Another spoke. A blind man with a mocking tone. Asking about his supposed "palace" without walls or a ceiling. Baraggan entertained his ignorance. The third man, donning an unsettling smile, spoke none. Their leader unsheathed his Zanpakuto, making their origins clear. He asked Baraggan to glance at it and revealing its name: Kyōka Suigetsu. A mere blade, it was. Unremarkable in every way. But the God-King's interest was piqued. The man held his sword for all to see, proceeding to ask the throne bearer whether he was content with what he had. He continued to subtly taunt Baraggan, attempting to bring him doubt in his position and promising even greater power. Impossible, Baraggan thought. What greater power was there? And at the cost of becoming a meagre follower?
Utter nonsense.
A god's place was not in following someone else. There was nobody above him. A foolish mission by the three Shinigami. His patience had reached his limit, ordering his army to kill the three. A futile attempt, he would learn in just a moment. Aizen Sōsuke released his Zanpakuto, revealing the annihilation of Baraggan's army. Confusion set in. A feat no one had accomplished. Not when he held the universe's ultimate power.
Baraggan finally rose from his throne and revealed his mighty axe. It was going to be over in a second. How dare these ants soil the hollowed ground he walked on. But then, the illusion revealed another one of its layers. Though not before Aizen could compare him to a Shinigami, with him being clad in black, so eager to strike down his foes. Baraggan's deep fury didn't have a chance to burst forth before he was already struck down. His skull cracked, his crown fallen and destroyed.
At a moment's notice, his impossibly lengthy rule found its end. But Baraggan refused to perish. So he submitted. His most abject failure.
Death's Vow
Second. A deliberate act of punishment. A petulant show of power. Relegated to being just shy of the top spot. Given his own tiny portion of Las Noches to reside in. An infuriating "gift" to the one who once ruled over all. But power he did receive still. Baraggan swore it would be Aizen's downfall. It would happen when he'd least expect it. A glorious display of falling from grace and the rightful king taking his place once more. But until then, he watched with interest. He watched as Aizen built his army, his empire. An impressive show, no doubt, but limited to his Shinigami ways. Baraggan also saw his failures, as few as there were. No doubt meant to be seen by him, as their glorious leader supposedly saw and knew all. Tsk. What would a mere man know of the power of god? His blade of illusions kept him in power. Baraggan held the power of death itself. And yet, he was bested and became second.
The Espada took shape, their ranks filled and then replaced with more suitable candidates. Baraggan remained, his fury festering beneath, wondering why these ants went along with the Shinigami's ploys. Likely too cowardly or weak to take any true action. It was evident when looking at his own Fraccion. Despite having chosen them himself because of their skill and loyalty to him, they still ultimately feared Aizen. At the very least, they were competent enough to resemble a personal army. It had to do. He was promised new worlds to conquer, new enemies to destroy. In that, Aizen delivered. To properly face against their natural enemy was a suitable boon. He told himself to play along, to submit just enough. And when the time was right, when all was said and done and ripe for picking, he would strike. The forces of time would envelop the usurper, leaving nothing behind. To wrong the true God-King was unforgivable.
Faction: Espada, Aizen's Army
Rank: Segunda Espada (2nd)
"Incomprehensible. That is the nature of death. Furthermore, from this point onward, until this battle is over, everything that happens will be beyond the comprehension of your wits."
Physical Abilities:
Axemanship Master
An axe has been Baraggan's primary weapon for as long as he can remember. As such, his mastery in using the weapon is absolute. His swings are decisive, his strikes deliberate and devastating. While his primary powers tend to do all the work, Baraggan is still an exceedingly formidable combatant with his weapon. Despite its size, Baraggan uses his axe swiftly for both defense and offense.
Master Strategist
Baraggan's intellect is known well among the other Espada. Having been alive as long as he has and battling many various foes has made him keenly aware of their strategies and methods of battle. Whenever on a battlefield, his opponent ought to be wary, as Baraggan can quickly deduct most battle plans his adversary may come up with. He is also very knowledgeable of the power levels of whomever he might be going up against, often relegating his Fraccion to opponents suitable of their power level. Among the Espada, Baraggan is typically the one who provides the force with the most useful tactics and ways of operating.
Enhanced Strength
Appearances to the contrary, Baraggan's physical strength is tremendous. His punches can destroy bone in a single hit and a swing from his axe is capable of cutting clean through buildings, even those that are a mile away.
Hollow Powers:
Senescencia
Among the Espada, Baraggan represents the Aspect of Death of aging. A remnant of his original form, Baraggan has the innate ability to age whatever and whomever he touches. This ability manifests itself in a couple of ways.
- Time Dilation Field - Baraggan typically projects a field around himself which slows time. The field reduces the speed of anything approaching him, making attempts to attack incredibly difficult. This gives him ample time to launch a counter attack, while his opponent is extremely slowed. The ability is powerful enough to thwart most incoming attacks and slow enemies to a snail's pace.
- Age Acceleration - Whenever Baraggan touches anything, the aging process of the subject increases rapidly. The damage is dealt the same way as normal aging would, only far quicker. He could reduce the bones of whoever he touches to dust in mere seconds if he manages to touch them for long enough.
Descorrer
A technique used by Espada to open a Garganta to wherever they choose to go. Along with the other Espada, Baraggan can use this freely to travel where he wishes.
Sonído
The Arrancar's version of Shunpo and roughly matches the speed of both that and Hirenkyaku used by the Quincy. A Sonido is distinctive by its booming sound when used and is largely an instinctual skill of the Arrancar, rather than something that has to be learned. However, its proficiency is entirely up to the user. As the 2nd Espada, Baraggan is exceptionally quick and is able to effortlessly catch up to seasoned Captain-level beings, something additionally treacherous when paired with his aging abilities.
Immense Spiritual Power
Being among the top four Espada, Baraggan's powerful reiatsu forbids him from releasing his Zanpakuto inside Las Noches, with his power being enough to destroy the entire fortress. A feat Baraggan has considered many times. When exerting his spiritual pressure, it releases a powerful shockwave, able to blast away those below him in power. His reiatsu is of a dark red color.

Ressureccion:
Arrogante -(Spanish for "Arrogant," Japanese for "Grand Emperor of Skulls")
In its sealed form, Arrogante takes the form of a large, double-headed battleaxe. It has a pair of rounded blades, one smaller than the other and are black in color with silver edges. A red eye pendant lies in the middle of the blades' joining point. That in turn, is attached to the axe's long handle, with three white studs in a vertical row on all four sides of its base. The end of the hilt is wrapped in what looks to be braided gold. Depending on his mood in grandeur, the axe may be hidden in his throne of bones before Baraggan formally decides to enter the battlefield.
"Rot."
Resureccion Abilities:
Before uttering the release command, Baraggan holds his axe in front of him, with the head pointing downwards. As he says the release command, he begins pulsating his red reiatsu and the eye pendant twitches, starting to generate several black and purple flames. Those flames burn away Baraggan's flesh, with him transforming into a close version of his original Vasto Lorde appearance. Essentially every part of him is reduced to bone, though he retains his armbands. His body is then drapes in a purple cloak, with an impossibly black tattered fur collar around the fringes of his cloak and neck area. Baraggan resembles something of a lich in his Resurreccion form. The gold chains that originally composed his belt, now dangle out of his armbands. The eye pendant is now an ornate necklace in the center of his chest. The crown is transformed into a more extravagant version of his original crown, with it being covered in jewels and a chain running down the left side. His scar now becomes more prominent, as a crack in the same location.
- Gran Caída - In his Resurreccion form, Baraggan wields his original axe from his Hollow form and typically keeps it hidden in his cloak. The axe takes on a much sleeker and darker form. Two pointed blades and a large spike protruding from its center form the top half. On the base of the spike are four gold chains, which attach themselves to his right hand bracelet. Gran Caida is also able to channel Baraggan's power through it, enabling him to use Respira as a series of slashes through the axe.
- Enhanced Hierro - Baraggan's natural Hierro is now much more potent, capable of withstanding point blank strikes from powerful enemies with little but an annoying scratch.
- Enhanced Senescencia - In his Resurreccion, Baraggan's natural abilities are impressively amplified. He can age and deteriorate every object around him, with almost anything deteriorating from his mere presence. This essentially gives him a personal field or protection, as everything which comes within a fairly close range of him rapidly disintegrates before actually making contact.
- Respira - Black and purple smoke-like miasma begins emanating from Baraggan, very quickly radiating outward, rotting anything and everything it comes into contact enough. Respira is fast enough to catch up to even the quickest opponent, making Baraggan an exceedingly dangerous opponent. Baraggan can also freely control its speed, making it seem slower or quicker when he wishes. Respira can also dissolve Kido, as anything created by the living can and will eventually die.
Rp Sample:
The empty echoes of Las Noches reminded Baraggan of days long since passed. The castle was large enough for most of its residents to evade each other should they choose. Baraggan was partially one of those people. His "comrades," as he reluctantly called some of them, were mere cogs in the machine. But he also saw their power and acknowledged it where fit. Yet all of them paled in comparison to his power of time itself. He yearned for the days when he would be the sole ruler again and the trespasser be disintegrated into nothing. But Baraggan was no fool. He knew thwarting Aizen would need to be the culmination of a lengthy plan. And he was also aware of the many safeguards the now King had placed on everything and everyone. He was cunning like that, infuriatingly so.
His quiet scheming and murmurs of the mind were disrupted by him sensing a flock of lesser Hollows near Las Noches. And as quickly as the sensation reached him, it disappeared. Vermin like that had no place in the grandiose mind of Baraggan Louisenbairn. One of the guardians would take care of them. If they had a greater purpose, they would have already been found by Aizen's lackeys. But it seemed that the God-King's attention was required for a more important purpose. At least one that would be considered so by the Espada's illustrious overseer. One of his Fraccion had appeared to inform him of an imminent meeting. The topic was predictable: the invasion of Soul Society and the purging of Shinigami filth. It was a purpose that fit Baraggan's goals well enough for now.
"Hmph. The Boss' anxiety can be felt to the furthest reaches of the castle. He hides it under his suffocating confidence, but I know better. Very well, let us indulge in his masterful plans yet again."
Baraggan wasn't necessarily talking to anyone in particular, only to vocalize his thoughts, which he hoped Aizen would somehow hear. At the very least, it would allow the true God-King of Hueco Mundo to show his terrifying power to more ants before squashing them under his heel.
