Physical Appearance: Klein is a lean man standing at 1,78 meters of height. His often worn long garments cover his conditioned physique. The officer used to wear a singular contact lens to cover his red/blue heterochromia, as it was considered to be distracting for his post, but a decision was made to ignore it to give him an even more intriguing air
Clothing: Klein's full attire consists of ceremonial military garb, complete with gilded engravings and decorations. For practicality (and accounting for a different climate), he frequents a more casual, yet still commanding attire of black pants and shoes with featureless, striped shirts.
Personal Items: Other than every day essentials such as cell phones, Klein carries a notebook on which he takes notes, sometimes even during bouts. While wearing his full, heavier attire, he sometimes carries small board games or cards with him.



Personal Information

General Personality: Klein is a studied man that modeled his life after a belligerent craft for a lawful purpose of upholding order. This paradoxical outlook makes him difficult to approach, not for a lack of manners, but for a lack of subtlety and an excess of honesty. He excels in the abstract and has a deep interest in what makes people and Pokemon tick in the larger picture, and thus has a fondness of games and will entertain complicated discussions about his craft, in between sternly requesting his coffee to being 5% lighter, that is.

Brinestar's history places heavy emphasis on the wars waged by humans and Pokemon alike, and the destructive potential of the latter under the hands of the former. As such, to Klein, Pokemon should be either wild creatures, or disciplined companions, and stray far away from the inbetween. Dealing with the cultural standard regarding Pokemon in the rest of the world, and specially in Altair, will be Klein's biggest hurdle in his mission.

History:

Brinestar City is an independent island town that lies north of Hoenn. Prideful and reflective on its military history, it is a peaceful, self-sufficient archipelago, if you don't mind its strict laws and regulations. While the Pokemon world has no need for soldiers, the city prides itself in instilling the same sense of discipline in all of its people. Pokemon handling is fiercely regulated, and registered trainers serve the city as law enforcement and response teams, and are widely respected in the city.

Klein is one of these warless soldiers. Having never known his father and filled with his mother's stories about how he passed serving the city from a catastrophic fire, he was galvanized to become an ace Pokémon trainer, a title which carries a different weight compared to most of the regions, but no less effort. Even before the age where he would be considered for service, he prepared himself from such a task, and since the age of 12, he has proven himself competent in raising and developing Pokemon in service of upholding Brinestar's steadfast, harmonic lifestyle.

Brinestar city, however, was then rocked by consecutive natural disasters, a one-two punch of a dormant volcano and a typhon devastated the island, and while much effort was carried out to ensure the safety of the island's people and Pokemon, not that much can be said about the city. Brinestar had only the slightest modicum of outside relations, given how culturally enclosed they had become, so they had little resources or leverage to obtain aid or bolster an interest in exports or tourism. To attempt to remedy this to get the city back on its feet, the Northstar initiative was launched, selecting ace trainers within Brinestar's ranks and sending them abroad to make contact with the world and entice the masses with the wonders of Brinestar culture. While many of these operators were sent in groups to the grand regions, Klein was sent alone to the comparatively smaller, yet blooming scene of Altair City.

It's not an easy task, enduring, and conquering the heart of a whole new world, but its nothing that Klein can't shoulder through with his grit, his team, and a good cup of coffee
