General Information
Name: Atsuro Chōkoku
Identity: Alpha
Gender: Male
Age: 18 as of season 2
Date of Birth: July 21st
Place of Origin: Musutafu City
Occupation: Artist as of Season 2
Faction: None as of Season 2
Appearance
Visual Appearance:
Physical Appearance: Atsuro’s reddish-brown hair compliments his green-hazel eyes nicely. It’s normally fairly messy and a bit longer than he normally intends it to be just because he forgets to get a haircut. He has three piercings in each ear; normally occupied by small, silver hoops. He’s ever so slightly tan and stands around 5”7. Most notably, he has burn marks of varying shapes and sizes all over his body though mostly on his upper half. Most of them are small and circular from cigarettes, but there are a couple of larger ones as well.
Civilian Clothes: Atsuro has a bit of a pop-punk style, normally gearing towards reds and blacks. Graphic T-shirts and hoodies are a usual for him, normally accompanied by jeans that 60% of the time will be ripped at the knees. He always has his favorite pair of black converse with his little creatures doodled all over the white rubber. Those who don’t know him may think he’s had the same pair forever and needs to throw them out, but actually he just has multiple pairs of the same shoes that he draws on with near identical designs.
Hero Outfit: Alpha’s uniform is made to look like an army captain’s. All the badges a captain would have earned and worn on their chest are replaced with his summon figures, which are key chains hooked to his jacket with an easy to release latch. His hat has a badge on the front with a large, red letter A that matches the badges of his summons. He also has a large shield that he keeps hooked to his right arm to block attacks.
Personality
Bad Habits: Atsuro has some phobias left behind from his past; namely claustrophobia, acrophobia, and pyrophobia. Situations that trigger these will result in panic attacks.
Goal: Atsuro has a few goals. He wants to face his fears one by one, as he feels that is the best way to face his past and grow past them. He also, like most students at hero academies, wants to become a great hero; perhaps one days start his own agency that doubles as an art studio.
General Personality: Atsuro is generally a very cheerful and laid-back sort. It takes a lot to faze him or make him angry. Though the smile hides a lot of pain, fear, and sadness that still haunt him from his childhood. If something does upset him, he’s more likely to get sad than mad. For the time being, he’s a lot of bark and not much bite; often trying to stand up for his beliefs but being quick to back down if something looks too big for him to handle.
He relies a lot on those around him but in return is one of the kindest people you will ever meet. He loves socializing and making friends and hopes that those he calls such will help him grow, and become a great hero despite his fears. He’s also an extremely creative person and uses his creativity in multiple ways as an outlet for his anxiety and depression. On top of his sculpting, he also is a very good singer and is self-taught on piano as a hobby, though he doesn’t wright music. [See first song under themes for roughly how I imagine his voice.] He doesn’t do this in front of people though, as he’s a bit embarrassed by it and doesn’t actually think he’s that great.
Personal Life
Mother: Aiya Chōkoku; Deceased, Aiya had the ability to imbue energy into clothing she made which made it akin to bullet proof vests.
Father: Goro Chōkoku; Unknown, Goro had the ability to animate anything he created by hand and control them.
Siblings: None that he is aware of.
Extended family: Foster Parents: Osamu and Eiko Hironaka; both quirkless
History: For as long as Atsuro knew him, Goro was not a kind man. He was sure he must have been at some point; otherwise why would his mother have married him. However, by the time Atsuro came around whatever happened to cause his shift had already left its mark. The man would often come home drunk from casinos and bars after gambling away almost all of the money his mother worked so hard to get. She was a designer for a well-known company and making a decent living… but it still wasn’t enough to satisfy Goro’s addiction.
Goro also was a rather violent drunk; taking his frustrations out on his wife and child, covering both of them in bruises and burns from his cigarettes. When Atsuro was still an infant he would get held over the balcony of their apartment if he started crying and Aiya would have to rescue him. When he became too big to be held by the foot, he was locked in the broom closet instead. Aiya kept Atsuro as safe as she could, but it was never enough. Goro also had his figures around the house at all times, so if they ever tried to make an escape he would know and send his creatures after them. There was no escape as far as they could see.
Atsuro was always the creative sort though. He would draw sketches of little characters, giving them names, stories, and personalities of their own. These were his only friends as he wasn’t aloud out of the house. One day when he was about five Aiya bought him some polymer clay which became his new favorite thing; mainly because he quickly learned he could use it to bring his friends to life. They never lasted long, as Goro would constantly break them; but Atsuro was happy whenever he could have them around, even for a short while.
He was ten when he witnessed his mother’s murder. Goro and her were arguing about the man’s treatment of their child. He had spilled his bottle of whiskey on her during the argument, and then tossed his lighter at her in frustration without thinking about it. The lighter was old and faulty; it lit up when it hit her causing her to burst into flames. Atsuro had been hiding in the closet he normally got locked in, peeking through the cracked door. While Goro was stunned, the boy bolted for the door and ran to the police department. He was panicked and traumatized, frantically trying to explain as fast as he could to get help for his mother. But the house was up in flames when they got there, her corpse found amongst the rubble once the fire was put out. They never found Goro’s body, however, and he is still considered at large.
Atsuro was put into a foster care system and taken in by Osamu and Eiko Hironaka; a loving couple who took great care of him and helped him heal both physically and emotionally throughout the years. It took quite some time for him to open up but eventually he became the cheerful, loving young man that he is today. He still has many flaws, but he chose to try to overcome them instead of run from them. He dreamt of becoming a hero so he can save people in similar situations to where he was.
Now he has officially graduated from hero school, but isn't quite sure where to go from here. He always thought he wanted to be a hero to prevent what happened to him from happening to others. However, he isn't sure if he is ready to persue that yet. He isn't sure if he ever will be. With the help of his new best friends, Tanzo and Serena, he was able to somewhat concure one of his phobias. Fire still bothers him, but not as much as it used to. Still, he has two more to go and he doesn't really know where to go from here. For the time being, his foster parents have helped him get a small appartment with an extra toom that he has converted into a studio for his work. He has started selling his works online on top of his usual work at conventions and is actually turning a good enough profit to live on for now. He has started to give resin a go and selling things like dice and custom minis for dungeons and dragons. Maybe one day he could save up enough for a brick and morter store? He always wanted to change peoples' lives for the better and thought becoming a hero was the best way to do that... But maybe art could change lives in a way too? Or maybe when he matures a bit more he could give his old dream another look. Who knows what the future brings. For now, he is taking things one step at a time. Become a stable adult. Go on a few dates with the cute first year U.A. boy he met at the charity event a few months ago. And... oh yeah... try not to get found and murdered by his psychopathic father that is still on the loose and trying to kill him. That would be nice too.
Quirk
Name: Totem Maker
Quirk Type: Emitter
Power:
• Atsuro can imbue his power into figures that he creates out of clay, turning them into a catalyst for summoning the characters from his imagination. Each summon has different abilities based off the characters they are based on. While he can make other things, his favorites are his friends who he has had since he was a kid. They are little, humanoid creatures. They don’t really talk, just make little noises, but they understand human speech fine and can comprehend and think very similar to humans. All of them are about up to Atsuro’s mid-calf and don’t weight more than 5 lbs.
• Atsuro is also able to choose if they are summoned in “battle mode” or not. Battle Mode means their powers will be active for the duration of the time limit. Otherwise he is summoning them without the powers active. This is how calls them for strategy meetings outside of battle… or if he’s just lonely and wants his little friends around.
• Atsuro acts the leader of his summons. He has multiple strategies formed ahead of time for various scenarios ranging from spy missions and intel gathering, to rescue and disaster recover, to full on villain take downs. He’s the one calling the shots the whole time, though often doesn’t do much aside from give orders.
Summons
Ryoku: Strength
Kumori: Shadows
Chisoku: Speed
Keitsu: Light
Tomo: Companion
Supermoves:
• All Out Attack: Atsuro calls on all his summons (minus Tomo) at once. They all attack in an organized formation, taking out the enemy swiftly. There is a chance of back firing if the plan falls flat, as Keitsu is not good at improvising. If he summons all of them for an All Out Attack, they only have 1 minute before they are all instantly called back and unable to be summoned again for 24 hours.
• Golem: Atsuro has more tricks up his sleeve than just his small creatures. He has one, much larger creature, his Golem. Since the totem for the Golem must be a lot larger (about 8 ft tall), he can’t carry it with him. The Golem must be summoned ahead of time, and is the only one with a strict time limit for how long it can be out, as part of its power is simply its size. The Golem is about the size of a 2-story house. It is extremely strong and durable, made from solid stone (though its sculpture is still made of clay). After 5 minutes it starts to slowly crumble bit by bit, fully falling apart and disappearing after an hour. Once used, it takes Atsuro about 3 days to make a new one (2 days to make it and 1 day to fire it in the Kiln).
Drawbacks:
• While Atsuro can keep each summon out indefinitely once he has summoned them, there is a time limit for how long their powers will last once they are out. They are strongest during the first 5 minutes and are completely powerless after 30 minutes (8 posts); leaving them as no more than adorable, harmless creatures that can easily be disposed of with a good kick.
• The time limit is halved for each summon he has out at once (I.E. if 2 summons are out the powers last for 15 minutes (4 post). 3 summons last about 7 minutes (2 posts).)
• Once a summon is defeated/knocked out it disappears in a small puff of smoke and cannot be summoned again for 24 hours. (The cooldown only comes into play if they are knocked out, not if he calls them back willingly.) If he calls them back to him without them being defeated/knocked out the cooldown is 2 hours before they can be summoned again.
• If the totem for a summon breaks that summon is immediately defeated. Atsuro cannot use that summon again until he makes a new one. Each summon can only have one catalyst totem at a time, and the totem must look like the creature it is meant to summon to for a link with it. It takes Atsuro about an hour to make one of his little totems out of polymer clay (and that’s really only because he tends to be a perfectionist) and about 30 minutes baking time and a minute to put the clear coat of glaze on them. So about an hour 30 minutes in total (which could probably be halved if he stopped trying to get every tiny little detail).
Fighting Style: Alpha himself is a straight defense player. He protects himself and those nearby with his shield while paying close attention to the battle/situation so he can give orders to his team. He’s quick on his feet and with his mind and can shift gears at the drop of a hat, shouting new orders the second the situation calls for it and getting to other heroes that may need a block with good speed.

Summons
Ryoku: Strength
Ryoku is super strong, able to lift things 100 times his size with ease. He packs a powerful punch and fights hand to hand. He’s a martial artist and uses spiked knuckles as a weapon. He’s not the fastest, but make up for it with his sheer power. While his power is active, he also has extremely high durability, being able to take some pretty powerful blows before being knocked out. (Think Kirishima.) However, once his powers deactivate, he has the same durability as Kumori, Keitsu, and Chisoku.
He is a bit cocky and overzealous. He is completely creeped out by Kumori who loves to torment him, so the two really can’t work together well. He also has a huge crush on Tomo and likes to show off whenever he is out at the same time, which normally isn’t during battle. But if it happens to be that Tomo is out during a fight, Ryoku is liable to stray a bit from the plan or formation to try and look cooler.

But if it happens to be that Tomo is out during a fight, Ryoku is liable to stray a bit from the plan or formation to try and look cooler.
Kumori: Shadows
Kumori can use shadows to teleport himself, or anything his size or smaller, within his 10-foot radius from Atsuro. He can also form shadows into small spikes or projectiles, about the size of jacks. Everything he does and forms is using shadows that already exist within the radius. Kumori has about the durability of a really tough toddler. He can take maybe a couple good blows from a person with average strength. However, that would mean someone has to be able to catch him first.
He can’t work with Ryoku as he finds the fact that her fears him hilarious, and will often forfeit the mission to “play” with him if it doesn’t seem like the situation is dire enough for him to worry about it. He gets along well with Chisoku, the two of them being very good friends and being able to play and improvise off each other like clockwork. While he finds Keitsu annoying, he is able to work with them and understands their powers play well off each other. He knows he’s creepy and savors every second of it, loving to play pranks and jump scare people whenever he can.

Chisoku: Speed
Chisoku can run at lightning-fast speeds, appearing as no more than a blur when in motion. He is extremely efficient and works well with just about everyone on the team. He’s a ninja, using daggers and throwing stars as his preferred weapons. One of his favorite moves is working with Kumori to dash and teleport all over the field, taking out the enemy as swiftly as possible. Chisoku has the same durability as Kumori, but is also just as hard if not harder to catch while his powers are active.
He’s a rather stoic sort, and the quickest thinker of the bunch. If at any point it seems a plan is falling though, he can think on his toes and come up with something on the fly. He doesn’t like working with Keitsu, who’s the exact opposite and tends to make things worse as soon as something goes off course. He’s fine with the light user off the field, but thinks rather little of him as a fighter.

He’s fine with the light user off the field, but thinks rather little of him as a fighter.
Keitsu: Light
Keitsu can harness energy from light and form it into high powered lasers. He can also create large, blinding bursts of light akin to flash bombs. The stronger the light source available, the stronger the beams and bigger the blasts. I.E. A dark room lit only by a small flashlight would not be ideal for his abilities, only giving him enough power to make a small, pinpoint laser hot enough to slightly burn someone; while outdoors in broad daylight with the sun means he can form lasers large enough to blast 3 to 4 enemies at once with enough force to set their clothing ablaze. Keitsu also is about as durable as Kumori and Chisoku, if not perhaps ever so slightly less. However, his powerful blasts make it hard to get close to him. He will normally make sure to keep his foes at a distance and flash them with his blinding light to escape if they get too close for comfort.
Atsuro doesn’t use Keitsu often as fire isn’t his favorite weapon for obvious reasons. However, he knows Keitsu’s abilities are one of the stronger ones at his disposal. Because of this, Keitsu tends to be used as a last resort. This works out well, as this summon is not nearly as bright as the light he produces, and cannot improvise well if a plan fails midway through. Keitsu is a very cheerful and happy sort, but also extremely ditsy and somewhat clumsy. If they do find themselves in a situation where improve would be necessary, they tend to default to just letting out the largest light blast they can, often blinding everyone in the area whether they are friend or foe.

Tomo: Companion
Tomo has no abilities and is not meant for battle. He is a companion for Atsuro and acts as an emotional support service animal. He can sense when Atsuro is about to have a panic attack and will alert those around him for assistance and climb onto Atsuro’s lap in a comforting position. He also assists Atsuro in mundane things like handing him paint brushes or tools while he’s working. Tomo is almost always out but Atsuro is sure to always return him to his Totem when in extremely dangerous situations, usually replacing him immediately with one of the other summons. Being unable to fight means he also isn't able to take a hit either. One good hit from someone actually trying will knock him out instantly, and Atsuro won't be able to summon him again for the same 24 hour cooldown as the others.
Tomo is a very bright, happy, and cheerful sort who can bring a smile to just about anyone’s face. All of the other summons gets along well with him, and he considers all of them his deer friends. He is completely oblivious to Ryoku’s crush on him though, and often doesn’t understand when the strength summon does things for him that they are meant to be acts of flirting.
