Personal Information
Name: Torin Vexx

Age: 27
Gender: Male
Race: Human (Witch)
Pitch: Dr. Vexx is extremely good at his job. Coming from a long line of world renowned doctors, the Vexxes are known for healing patients even in extreme and dire conditions. Some might even say… it’s like magic.
Genre:
Affiliations: The Eye (informally), Himself
Background:
Torin’s has always had two sides to him, the side he shows his family and the side that is truly Torin. His family were always extremely proper and frankly stuck up in his opinion. They were too stuff and formal with everything. However, to prevent being judges and/or disowned, he played along. Around his family he was always proper, kind, studious, and graceful. As soon as their back were turned, however, he was a somewhat rude, loud, excitable, and outspoken kid who was rather anti-social and would much rather be in his room playing videogames instead of anything he may have been doing at the time.
Even from a young age, he Torin was always look towards the future. He was never that into his studies, only making sure to be top of his classes because he knew it was expected of him. He was interested in medicine and healing from a young age, but only because he knew it could land him a well paying career that would let him travel and invest in his hobbies one day.
Not that the topics he studied weren’t interesting at all, but it all just came naturally to him. He was a bit of a prodigy. Having parents so obsessed with studies that he was constantly surrounded by medicine and magic to the point that he was listening to healing spells as lullabies as an infant had quite a heavy impact on him. To his parents and extended family everything about him seemed perfect, except for one major flaw that he couldn’t hide no matter how hard he tried.
Torin knew his parents excepted a lot of things. The stressed the study of sexuality and gender as an important part of medicine. However, at age 13 he learned that there was one thing they didn’t believe could possibly exists; that was the idea of being asexual or aromantic. To them, people are naturally social and sexual. The idea that someone could actively be born with no drive to reproduce made no sense to them, as that is how a species survives. This was the answer he was given when he stumbled across the terms in a medical journal and asked his parents about it. Unfortunately for Torin, he was both. He knew it from the moment he read the definitions. He knew he had to hide it from his family. Who knew what they would do to him if they found out he wasn’t as perfect as they thought.
When he turned 17 his family started to notice that he still didn’t seem interested in dating. At first, they thought he was a late bloomer, but when he turned 21 and still hadn’t dated anyone they started to worry. They made this worrying very apparent too. His mother, Karina, started setting him up on blind dates. The first two or three he didn’t really care, but after it got to be once a week he began to really despise talking to his mother for any period of time as it was a topic that was bound to be brought up. He has no interest in his mother’s dating games. His father, Gilbert, didn’t make it any better as he agreed with pretty much everything Karina said like a loyal dog.
At 25 his mother started trying to put him with men, women, and everything in between thinking maybe she hadn’t succeed before because she was only trying women. The first victim of this was one Magnus Teigan Zaire N’Dare-Waincroft. All he knew about the guy going into it was that he had a rather messy break up a year or two prior to their meeting, and that he came from another prestigious family of witches. The other man’s mother apparently knew his own from the magic academy they had both gone to. Apparently, she was also worried about her son after what had happened to him and thought perhaps getting back in the game would help. Frankly, he didn’t care.
The women had arranged to meet each other at Ms. N’Dare’s home for tea; and said she would bring her son with her and that the other witch should do the same. Torin was sure to be extremely kind, polite, and courteous as always when the mothers were around. However, as soon as they left the men alone in the study to get to know each other while they caught up, the act dropped. He scowled at the door before turning his attention to the man and giving the pitch he had come up with after the first few blind dates. Basically, he explained his situation; that he was ace/aro and couldn’t let his family know, that he wouldn’t mind faking it with him if he would go along with it, and that if they did start “dating” he honestly didn’t care what Magnus did as it was only to get his family off his back. The man rejected his offer, but seemed to not mind the real Torin at all. They didn’t hit it off romantically (obviously) or as “business partners” as Torin had put it. Instead, Torin had managed to find his first real, close, lifelong friend.
Today, Torin is a world renowned doctor just like his father and generations of Vexxes before him. He travels the world helping people in need (and helping himself to the life of an eternal tourist). He’s formed his home base, however, became Magnus’s place in Buster City. He isn’t there often, but he crashes on Magnus’s couch whenever he happens to be in town. He had also gifted Magnus a magic pendant that can be used to open a portal directly connecting the two men no matter how far apart they are. It can only be used once a month, so Magnus and uses a lot of magic from both men, so they know not to use it willy-nilly. If the half were-wolf is ever in serious trouble, he knows who to call. Seems he needs him more often these days too. He’s befriended some Elf girl and has gotten involved in some strange business. Torin doesn't know what it is, and frankly doesn’t care. If he’s called on for help, he shows up no questions asked. Somewhere deep down under the selfish nature of the traveling gamer doctor he does care deeply for his friend, and is ready and willing to heal him and his companions at any point.
