Physical Description:
Monster: The Lycanthrope Parasite is a small serpent like creature, easily mistaken for an eel or waterborne snake. The parasite's skin is semi reactive to the environment within so identifying its exact colour is difficult. It is to be noted the head of the parasite has a tri-jaw, which it uses for both burrowing and clamping onto its prey.
Current host: Hitsugi stands at 5'5" tall, she is a slender built person. She is by her build no warrior but she isn't out of shape. She had blue eyes and long brown hair, which is also the colour of the fur on her tail and ears. Hitsugi, due to the influence of the parasite has developed wolf ears and a tail. Attempts to cut them off have been unsuccessful and haven't even left a scar other than a mental one. It should be noted that her human ears have shrunk in size and her teeth are turning into fangs. She has a scars of a bite on her right arm.
Clothing: Hitsugi typically wears the modern version of the religion's traditional garb. This consists of a white sleeveless top, gray pleated skirt which are held securely in place by a double belted corset. On her arms there are detached sleeves, around her upper arms the sleeves are held in by brown belt straps. Hitsugi typically wears tall brown boots. She will typically wear a red ribbon in her hair that matches the red bow that's part of her waist belt.
Recently, due to the parasite, she has been wearing a wolf-like head dress to hide her ears and explain away the tail as simply part of her outfit.
Weapons: Any Weapons? If so, use the following spoiler to list and describe them:
Miscellaneous Equipment/Items:
Bonded Object
Object - Symbol of faith
Appearance - It is a set of prayer beaks that bear the symbol of her faith upon every bead.
Source of Bond - Hitsugi has had these beads for as long as she can remember, it's claimed that she had them since she was born but she doesn't know if that's the case.
Powers Choose a maximum of 3 to start, remember the powers must be related to the object thematically, and the stronger the power the more severe the drawbacks should be
Ability Name: Mystic arrows
Ability Description: Kitsugi rather than using real physical arrows can produce arrows out of mystic energy. These seemingly light based arrows follow the flight patterns actual arrows would. They also have a similar impact bar the fact they can achieve greater penetration. Depending on how Hitsugi channels the energy the arrow can produce one of two effects, first is to act like an actual arrow, and the other is that it after impact irrupts in flames. The fire will stop after the arrow expends all the energy channeled into it.
Ability Drawbacks: The arrows can be stored, and need to produced before being fired meaning they can't be fired in quick succession
Ability Name: spirit light
Ability Description: Hitsugi can produce a glowing floating orb of light, while technically harmless it produces an interesting side effect. It orbs light while simply a light, it attracts the attention of monsters like flies to a lamp.
Ability Drawbacks The light once produced can't be moved, and is very fragile so is easily broken.
Ability Name: Lycan transformation
Ability Description: Hitsugi can force her body to change into stage 4 of the Lycan transformation. This form basically changes all of her body's focus on its physical ability. Thus becoming faster, stronger and far keener senses.
Ability Drawbacks The transformation technically robs Hitsugi of her ability to use her other abilities. Additionally as a side effect, on the night of a full moon, Hitsugi is forced to transform. While she will remain in control of herself she is stuck in that form still the moon sets. The fur that will cover her body does not recede immediately. She will be left with a fine layer of pelt for about two days before it goes away on its own.
Abilities
Physical Powers Select a maximum of 3, these powers must be linked to your monster physiology in some capacity, however they do not automatically need to have drawbacks
Ability name - Aquatic lifeform
Body part - the Symbiont can survive without a host while in water. Be it fresh or salt, as long as other lifeforms can survive in it.
Ability description - Cant survive in waste or contaminated water. The Symbiont requires the water to be habitable.
Ability name - Invasiveparasite Symbiont
Body part - the Symbiont can enter the body when given the opportunity, either by being consumed or via opening depending on the human body.
Ability description - The Symbiont cant penetrate skin, therefore needs to enter via a wound or existing orifice such as an ear, mouth, nose, and so on.
Spiritual Powers Select a maximum of 3, these powers are supernatural effects you have consciously developed with your mystic energy, and do not need to be linked to any specific thing so long as they logically make sense for your monster to develop.
Ability name - shared regeneration
Ability description - The Symbiont is difficult to kill due to its innate ability to regenerate parts of its body and the body of its host. This actually allows for replacement of lost limbs and non vital organs. The regeneration also works on parts that wouldn't normally be able to heal such as burns and leaves the body in a state without any evidence they were even harmed.
Ability drawbacks - Though the point of regeneration is limited to the state of the body in which the parasite entered the body. So lost limbs and pre-existing scars will remain unless the part of the where the scar was located is removed. Additionally the process of rapid regeneration is painful, specially for the host and exhausting.
Ability name - Lycanthrope take over
Ability description - the Symbiont once within its host, undergoes a number of stages of change to the host body. It is currently unclear if the Symbiont will carry out these changes to new hosts.
Stage 1: enter the body and provide benefits such as regeneration, shared knowledge and experience. Begins initial stages of host mutation, no obvious changes.
Stage 2: Early signs of change can be seen, hair becomes thicker, sharpened senses of smell and hearing, can see better in the dark, reduced sense of taste. Symbiont can take control of the host without the host knowing. It should also be noted that the Symbiont, when it takes over control of Hitsugi, will enhance her physical abilitybut can't use her bonded item and related abilities.
stage 3: Visible signs of mutation, wolf ears, fangs, tail. In later phases patches of fur and claws also appear. Host mind and the Parasite become melded, thus resulting in the Symbiont adopting the host's personality. In this current stage host and Symbiont's aura become mixed thus resulting in a unique human monster aura.
stage 4: full bestial transformation. the host becomes a werewolf. Host mind devolves to a violent wild animal-like state while parasites retain logical control. Symbiont uses current host to seek out new host and inflict an injury at which point it can use injury to change host.
stage 5: previous host now without parasite loses access to Symbiont abilities and is reduced to a wild animal that while appearing like a monster still has the physical limitations of a human. The ex-host won't attack the new host once the parasite has left its body.
Ability drawbacks - the time the process of mutation takes varies from host to host, certain conditions make certain hosts more suitable than others. The Symbiont wants hosts that it can possess for as long as possible. Symbiont can't make hosts of other monsters and non-human or canine animals. The Parasite can't mutate canines but can control them to use them while searching for more suitable hosts. Being the host of the Symbiont will also result in an elevated need to eat as the Symbiont is still feeding off them.
Ability name - Pack howl
Ability description - a unique power that the parasite has and can grant its host is the ability to howl and attract canines to its person. This howl puts the other canines into a sort of trance and puts them at the control of the parasite or its host.
Ability drawbacks -the control of the canines is limited to audible commands. Therefore it can make them do something they wouldnt or couldnt do before. Only canines that are within audible range of the host are put into the hypnotic trance.

History: The Hominis-Lupus Parasitus is believed to have originated from Cauli, consumed by a veteran soldier or hunter from a river to a body of water. Who later then dispatched to Radix for an investigation on the monster there. The reasoning for such suspicion is that a werewolf-like creature was later identified as the one responsible for the killing of Cauli team and that all bar one body could be accounted for, though all equipment were accounted for. This same creature had then later proceeded to attack the investigation team after the first had failed to report in. The creature had managed to wound two members of the search party before it was slain.
The members of the team eventually returned to their homes. Unaware that one of their number carried the same parasite that had been the reason they were given the task to investigate. It would be several months before any sign of its transmission was obvious and for the specialist that carried it. Far too late to do anything about it. The cycle would repeat, eventually the host would turn into a beast and the Parasite would seek a new host. It would be a few cycles late on before anyone would realize there was a pattern. The victims, those killed or harmed were just unfortunate but those who the parasite took weren't physically strong or superior but spiritually. Though by the time this came to realization, the Parasite and its new host had changed location.
After the time the parasite had spent jumping from host to host on Silva, it eventually found a new host that would take it to Ixia. Then after a series of suppressed incidents and transfer to a non-human host the Parasite was on its way out to sea in the body of a merchant's pet. On its way to Pulic, where with a quick nip, it found a new host.
Over the next centuries, the parasite would repeat its cycle, spreading the tales of monstrous beasts that would turn those attacked by them into monsters too. But as with all stories that became dangerous, it was investigated. Out of those attacked by the creatures, only one would turn. The exact connection of who or where they had gone was never made. Nor was it made when once they accidently got the current host into custody. With no actual proof nor way to confirm who could turn, short of detaining everyone that was harmed and waiting. An infeasible task as the previous host was still lost and still attacking people. The new host would be let go, a mistake that would recorded and then covered up. No one wanted to admit they had the next beast in captivity and let it go. Specially after it took almost year and a half before the next Lycan appeared.
Time passed without the Parasite ever truly being caught. Once its host was killed before it could find a new one. But the monster was able to escape to a nearby body of water where it would wait. Till its new host appeared. A servant to a noble family in the Shogunate of Tenshi. A nation ruled in part by its military leader the shogun and his retainers, and by part the religious Emperor. Whom like his predecessors was the civil and spiritual leader of the nation and head of the religion. The person it had found however worked for people was related to both these ranking individuals.
These people were the Ashara family. They were a devout family, whose lifestyle was highly involved with the Religion. The new host was a caretaker of their family home and on occasion would looked over their one and only child, Hitsugi. He was a gardener but from time to time he wasn't working alone but teaching Hitsugi about the spiritual side of what he did. Something the girls parents clearly approved of. It was teaching the child that she could a spiritual meaning and enlightenment in all things she did. Though as time past, she would grow, as did the Parasites control of his body.
For Hitsugi, the nice man who had taught her how to look after plants. The man who would be found to have vanished the day after she was attacked by a wolf in her home at the age of eleven. The incident sent a wave through in inner circles of the religious leadership and gave them means to put pressure upon the shogun, namely driven by her father and uncle. Her mother had taken a bit more tack and shielded Hitsugi from being used as a political tool. Attempting to allow Hitsugi a bit more time to be a child before she stepped into the deep end.
Hitsugi went through the next few years of her life, learning more about the adult ways of her people. She would be given the religious indoctrination by her parents as they were both part of the inner circle but it was her Grand Uncle the shogun who made sure his relative was properly taught about the world and learned some form of Martial art. He wanted younger generations to make their own choices and not just follow through with the choices of generations past. He hoped that maybe one day young people like Hitsugi would change the world and maybe stop people from hating each other and focus on the real problems. It wasn't hard to say that Hitsugi liked her Grand Uncle. How her mother felt that using one's child for political gain made you a poor adult.
Years would pass before the parasite within her decided it would show itself. That time it came to the surface other than quietly letting its host go about its life, was when Hitsugi confronted her fear. She was out in the woods, visiting a shrine when she encountered a wolf. It sparked her past trauma, causing her to freeze in terror. So the Parasite acted, taking control to preserve its host. The next thing she really knew was that the wolf was under her hand and she was scratching it behind the ears. Quenching her phobia, and unwittingly sowing the seeds that maybe she wasn't cursed but blessed. Something that would come up again as she reached adulthood.
Shortly after she officially became an adult and a maiden of Ten no kyōdan, Hitsugi entered stage three of the Parasite's mutations. The sudden sprouting of the ears and tails sent her parents into a panic. they had heard the stories about the Werewolf and rightfully feared the worst. Slowly word spread as they tried to find a cure. Among those cures were the simple process of cutting and then burning the remains of the animal features. A cure that always proved to have been nothing more than a painful experience for Hitsugi. Eventually the right people heard and they came to find her. They explained how they had seen Hitsugi and the wolf in the forest and believed that she wasn't cursed but rather blessed. That the changes to her body were in fact evidence of how strong the spirit's blessing was. Of course there were those that believed the opposite and that the best way to deal with her was to kill her.
The beliefs made an appeal to the Emperor, who took advantage of the situation that was presented to do a few things. First to claim that the gods had given them a sign, a sign that they had pleased the gods enough to have one of their own blessed in such a way. Second, he was trying to protect Hitsugi, he may not have been as close to her as the Shogun had been but he wasn't an uncaring uncle. Until he had a child of his own, she was technically his successor. He of course thought this an opportunity to take some control from the shotgun but failed to prepare for the shogun's willing support. The emperor was to be caught off guard and rather than take control, he lost a bit more as the shogun reminded the people that he too was a man of faith and wouldn't ignore the gods if they were to give such an obvious gift.
So came the proposal from the shogun to have Hitsugi leave their lands. To show the proof of the gods to the wider world. To show them that the Ten no kyōdan faith was the rightful path. However this wasn't the truth. The truth was that he knew that there were those who would stop at nothing to see Hitsugi killed. Even though she was born a human, they wouldn't accept this sudden change to a sign from the gods but rather a subversion of the demons and monsters. So while Hitsugi was idolized as the wolf maiden. The Shogun proposed a grand plan to have Hitsugi reach where their voice isn't heard. to the other continents. The Barbarians of Fortis wouldn't hear them and their neighbors' already listened. So it should be to the people of Silva and Certa she should go. To spread the word of the gods and enlighten those who had shut themselves off from the spirits.
