Servants
Class: Rider
Alias: Daigo Masagi
True Name: Date Masamune
History: Date Masamune was a Daimyo in Sengoku era Japan, having ascended to the position at the age of 17 after his father Date Terumune retired from his place at the head of the clan. His ascent marked a period of aggressive expansion and consolidation for the Date clan as he broke formerly amicable alliances and friendships in a push to secure his clan's place as a power in Japan. His mastery of tactics led him to many key victories, though his reckless nature also brought him to several defeats. Despite this, his followers and personal retainers were fiercely loyal to him, beyond what was demanded of them.
Eventually, Masamune and the Date clan would bend their knee to Toyotomi Hideyoshi and soon after Tokugawa Ieyasu, and became prominent figures in the political landscape during their rules. During this peace, Masamune demonstrated a skill and flair for management and diplomacy which nearly rivalled his military skill; when Ieyasu granted him the highly-valued Sendai domain he built up the small fishing village of Sendai (the centre of the Sendai domain) into a large and prosperous city, and furthermore funded the first Japanese expedition to sail around the world, making successful contact and establish cordial relations with the Pope in Rome. Despite Ieyasu's suspicion of him and his choices, Date remained a loyal feudal lord until the end of his life, dying peacefully.
Personality: Hot blooded doesn’t even begin to describe Date’s personality. He acts on the spur of the moment, often forgoing plans for direct paths. That isn’t to say he’s uncontrollable; people he respect can often talk him down, get him to consider other alternatives.
Weapon of choice: Date alternates between his six noble phantasm swords, keeping his opponent on their toes with their varying effects.
Noble Phantasm: The Six Claws of the Dragon, six blades that Date can use individually or all at once. Each possess a different ability, and when all are used at once they form a lethal combination. However, using all six blades can quickly take a toll on him, meaning such an act is reserved for emergencies and opponents he gets fired up against.
The Six Claws are:
Raitoningukurō - A Blade said to strike with the power of the heavens, when Date chooses it emits a strong electrical charge
Fushoku Sōru - A Blade cursed by those it slew, whatever it strikes begins to decay, rot and generally degrade rapidly
Doragonzu no hāto - A Blade soaked in Date's own blood, using this blade slowly reinvigorates its wielder, mending wounds through supernatural forces
Onsoku - A Blade fashioned in less than a day, its strikes are generally weak, but using it grants Date incredible speed beyond human recognition
Katakura Kojūrō - A Blade named after Date's most loyal retainer and the man said to be his right eye, it gives Date a perception that can cut through illusions and falsehoods
Date-shi no chi - A Blade given to Date by those closest to him, it summons several of his retainers to fight alongside him. However, it quickly drains his stamina as each of them use his own energy to fight, and as such it is the least used blade.
Skills:
Riding: Date was extremely fond of his horse and rode daily, developing a high level of skill.
Magic Resistance: Date, while he believed in the supernatural and magical, chose not to
Charisma: As a Daimyo, Date needed to possess a certain amount of leadership skills and natural magnetism to succeed.
Inciting Spirit: A skill unique to Date. Certain phrases he utters can cause others to disregard their restraint and act upon their strongest desire at the time.
Physical appearance:
Clothing and Armor : Date's casual attire consist mainly of a series of well tailored navy blue suits and long jackets. He keeps his hair tied back in a neat ponytail and wears an unadorned eyepatch over his missing eye. When in combat, he dons his full armour set as seen above along with a blue tabard and his distinctive crescent helmet.

Name: Kojuro Tanimura
Age: 38
Gender: Male
History: Tanimura was born the only child of his family; the last surviving branch of the Kojuro line that served the Date clan during Sengoku Japan. With only enough funds to get by - a result of a series of poor decisions by his grandfather - the family struggled, and Tanimura's father, while doing the best he could to teach his son magecraft, could barely afford any of the materials he needed, resulting in the young boy only developing a limited skill. Still, they were happy; living together as best they could.
Electing not to attend the Clocktower and instead try and live a simple life, Tanimura experienced a normal life for any non-magician, and excelled in highschool and university, achieving the top results in both, eventually graduating with a degree in chemistry - a course he chose due to his magical heritage; he was curious to discover the other side of the coin to magic, and how the world operated from both viewpoints.
Tanimura was twenty eight when the fourth grail war occurred in Fuyuki, and he found himself horrified at the destruction it wrought. His father, noticing this, explained the event to him, and why magi went to such lengths to procure the grail. He then gave Tanimura an item that would immediately stir up an old spirit within the man; a simple, unadorned eyepatch - once having belonged to Date Masamune, the man who their ancestor had served loyally. Taking the item, Tanimura swore to treasure it until the end of his life, as such a thing held great meaning to the family
Within a year of this event, his father passed away peacefully, not long followed by his mother.
He spent the next eight years studying magecraft once more, using notes his father had left him, and despite his choice to live in the modern world, Tanimura found himself easily slipping back into the world of magi, and once the fifth holy grail war began - a mere ten years after the last, he gathered the courage to summon a servant and enter the chaotic war himself with a simple goal: to prevent the events of the fourth Grail war being repeated globally.
Personality: Tanimura is a relaxed but focused individual; he doesn’t rush and he doesn’t panic. He plans his moves, not to ensure success, but to minimize risk to any possible innocents. He chooses to bear the pain himself, if there’s a pain to bear.
