Powers/Abilities:
Seven Wonders
The Seven Wonders are abilities that the coven in New Orleans, and their ancestors of Salem, believed to be the cornerstones of great magical ability. While many of these skills are commonplace amongst those skilled in magic, the tradition and term have remained within the coven to this day. The belief is that the Wonders are the most significant examples of how an aspiring user could further access the ethereal realm and grow their abilities. The Seven Wonders are also still used to determine whether a witch or warlock is capable and willing to ascend to the position of the Sovereign, the de facto leader of the coven and headmaster of their academy. While they're not the only metric of determining someone as Sovereign, the Seven Wonders are a large part of it. The tradition is sacred to the coven and still used to this day, though only a select few are brave enough to weather the tests. Prudence herself has mastered all of the Seven Wonders and served as Sovereign for a time.
Telekinesis
Prudence's personal favourite power and one of the most traditional abilities among every enhanced person, magical or not. The ability to lift objects and people with one's mind. For someone as old and skilled as Prue, her usage of telekinesis is impressive. Though, as always, limits apply. While she can toss people and lift vehicles with relative ease, she has a more difficult time doing so when the object or person is significantly larger and heavier than herself. These dimensions vary, but it's typically obvious what takes more effort for her.
Pyrokinesis/Hydrokinesis
While it typically depends on the user, an elemental power is likely present within the arsenal of a witch. In Prudence's position, she can command both fire and water to various degrees. Pyrokinesis being the more typical one and characteristic to her personally. Burning at high temperatures and Prue being able to conjure fire at will, it is a simple yet effective tool. Usually, the power and intensity of her pyrokinesis increases the angrier she gets. With hydrokinesis, it's predictably the opposite. The calmer she is, the more fine control she exhibits. With water, she can manipulate the amount, pressure and intensity as she sees fit, as long as it doesn't physically tax her too much.
Concilium
More commonly known as coercion or mind control. The ability of a witch to impose their own will onto another person or animal, allowing the aforementioned witch to control many parts of an intended victim's mind (such as their thoughts, actions and memories). This power can be resisted by humans with exceedingly strong willpower, along with powerful telepaths and the like. Though doing so (for a mostly baseline human) will cause these individuals to experience an increase in intracranial pressure, leading to permanent brain damage in these individuals if they do not give in to being controlled by a witch. As a result, if exercised properly, a witch with this power can bend the strongest of wills to her personal desires. Prudence does not have telepathy, so this is an important distinction to make. She can merely coerce people with a glance and a few well-placed words. This is also her most powerful skill among the Seven Wonders.
Transmutation
Also known as teleportation, the ability allows a witch to instantaneously move from one location to another. In Prudence's case, she has to know where she's going (and visualize it) in order to successfully transmutate. Transmutation isn't typically meant for travelling vast distances, so it is best used with short jumps. Prue can, however, fairly easily transmutate anywhere within a city she is in at that time, or an area the size of a large city, to use a crude example.
Descensum
The ability to descend into the netherworlds of the afterlife and can be also used in other manners, therefore being more commonly known as astral projection. Witches are able to project their souls directly into a version of Hell, which takes the form of their worst fears. Through there, they're able to traverse other sections of these dimensions, provided that they conquer their own fears first, one way or another. If a witch is stuck for a certain amount of time (usually three days) in Hell, their physical body will disintegrate into dust and their soul will be trapped. To use this power, witches commonly chant a specialized incantation. While certain other spells are more useful in properly travelling to the afterlife, descensum has been kept in use because of its potential.
Divination
The ability to obtain direct knowledge of an object, person, location, or physical event through means other than the user's physical senses. This power can be activated by just being around a person, focusing on specific tasks, or touching objects.
Vitalum Vitalis
The ability to tip the scale from one life force to another. The user can transfer their own life force into people or animals that are sick, injured or on the verge of death, thereby greatly restoring their health and often healing injuries. Vitalum Vitalis is infamous for being a taxing skill to use, as the caster gives up a part of their soul to restore another, in addition to just being physically exhausting. The success rate is high, but not absolute, so using it is a risky endeavor in of itself. It can also be used in reverse, to drain the life force of another into the user, though that only gives the caster a temporary boost in vitality and youth.

Magic/Spellcraft
While she has an impressive array of natural abilities that do not generally require incantations, Prudence has also more than proven her skill in actual spellcraft. A particular trademark of hers is a spell of lie detection, where the enchanted person cannot tell a lie, similar to Wonder Woman's Lasso of Truth. She is also known for her healing remedies and incantations. Prudence's knowledge of spells matches that of the most skilled users within the community and can successfully use many of them at once. Name a spell, charm or enchantment, and Prudence likely knows how to perform it or at least knows of it. She is equally keen on various potions and other magical mixtures.
Skilled home cook/mixologist
Though not really magic in its traditional sense, Prudence is a highly skilled conjurer of all sorts of goods made in the kitchen. The kitchen is one of her happy places, where she can let her imagination run wild, even more so than with spells. She knows that whatever she puts together, will result in pure joy from anyone that consumes her creations. Hence, it is no secret that her books on cooking and mixology have been considerable successes. Prue knows her way around ingredients and how to combine them in the best way possible, no actual magic needed. Just her intuition and sense of taste are what's needed to create unimaginable delights that soothe the taste buds.
Skilled instrumentalist
As if she wasn't capable enough, Prue also isn't a stranger to several instruments. Her personal favourite being the Theremin, which she uses to create ethereal and celestial tones that the listener either absolutely adores or purely abhors. She is equally skilled in playing the piano (and its siblings), as well as several stringed instruments (violin, viola, contrabass, etc).
Master diplomat/strategist
Prudence's years of experience within the magical community have made her a capable leader and diplomat. Though she is often unwavering with the terms she sets during negotiations, she does know how to play the game and how to get the support she needs, should she really require it. She is, very often, the smartest person in the room. Or if not that, the most fabulous and logical. Prudence has an uncanny skill of sensing what a person is like and what they really want, without any magical hijinks necessary. She is also someone who can come up with an airtight plan within minutes, often thinking of many more possible outcomes than just the one. This, along with her sheer magical power, is why Prudence is held in such high regard among the civilized magical community.
Weapons/Items:
Various tomes and equipment necessary to cast more complicated spells and to mix potions
A few technological gadgets, like a phone and a laptop, though she uses them sparingly
"My hair is an eternal mystery. Never to be fully understood."
Appearance

Physical Appearance:
Prudence's appearance is as eccentric as her personality and is undoubtedly her most striking feature in general. She always looks as if she's walked straight out of a photoshoot. Prue is a visibly elderly and slender woman of average height. She exudes elegance and grace through every movement and mannerism. There are few people who embody the pure nature of magic like she does. Anyone who lays eyes on Prudence simply has to admit that she herself is magic to a degree. Her most distinctive feature, if we need to delve into specifics, is her hair. It simply... is. Nobody knows the true secret to how Prue's vibrant ginger hair works and it is the one secret she will take to the grave with her. It is there to be admired by all. Gorgeous to look at and unbelievably soft to the touch.
Prue's eyes are each a separate color and have been since her birth. One is hazel and the other is a hazy blue. They only add to Prudence's mystique. The rest of her appearance is, dare I say, mundane. She has focused her attention on the most important aspects of her appearance and the rest can simply be the way it was intended. But woe betide those who underestimate this supreme madame because of her appearance, because she will fuck you up when needed.
Clothing and Armor:
Darkwatch's chief fashionista has placed the utmost importance on what she wears. Delving into every minute detail would take hours, but each outfit she wears is nothing short of stunning. Those who do not understand proper fashion have no place in critiquing her choice in attire. Prudence wears only the best and is highly attentive to what she dons for each occasion. Be it a simple black dress with a dotted silk undergarment that is finished by yellow rubber gloves or a simple blue gown adorned by a colourful scarf and regal gold gloves. Or better yet, an outfit combining the simple elegance of black and red, finished by a contrasting white shawl donned with the images of several red roses. She is also mad for anything tartan.
Sure, Prudence does wear a simple black suit along with a black cloak when it's applicable, but she most certainly doesn't have a simple leisure outfit. Everything she wears is a statement of some kind, whether the person looking can understand it or not. Mundanity has no place in Prue's life and especially her attire. Magic is larger than life. Eccentric, unpredictable, elegant, wondrous and simply unique. Thus, Prudence must be so as well.
"I've got a book of matches in my pocket, and I'm just dying to light this fire."
Personality
Sexual Orientation:
Unknowable
General Personality:
It is impossible to sum up Prudence Leigh Wharton, Madame Moon, The Sovereign, in a mere few words. She is simply a phenomenon. A woman to be witnessed. Eccentric, peculiar, odd, powerful, fierce, the adjectives keep going. Prue is pure magic in its most raw definition. She is someone who revels in the craft, the art of it all. She is terrifyingly intelligent, despite what her overt personality might lead some onlookers to believe.
Prue is often seen as the wise aunt or mother. Her intelligence matches her age and experience and goes beyond it. She knows the magical community inside and out, knowing many of the vital players in the game and how to manipulate them for her own gain. Her eccentric and unusual nature only benefits that, making her a rather effective actress in many situations. To those close to her, she is a guiding light. Prudence always seems to know how to say the right things and how to instill confidence in her fellow peers and pupils. However, she injects reality into them as well. She rarely sugar-coats things. She finds it unnecessary to lie to those that matter when naive optimism would only work for their detriment. Truth is the only thing that propels people forward, towards the betterment of themselves and those around them. This is amplified a dozen times over when something vital is at stake. It's largely because of her upbringing and her eventual self-actualization. She put in the work to get to her position and not a day goes by when she doesn't remind herself that. She strikes that necessary balance between arrogance and self-awareness.
Prudence enjoys her innate camp essence. She is very much in touch with who she is and it is a large part of her immense allure. She treats many situations as if they are elaborate theatre productions. Movements and sayings which are larger than life and almost always sound like a definitive declaration. This may be over-exaggerating things, since Prue is never truly detached from reality. She knows what is at stake at any time, and has become especially attentive during her time with Darkwatch. She is still very much herself, but is more enveloped in her job as a protector of more than just her little coven. None of it is a facade, either. She knows exactly what she's doing and who she is. Whenever "shit gets real" as the younglings say, Prudence knows to shed parts of her personality that would perhaps overshadow her meaning business. She is still, after all, a witch of the highest order.

Anything Else
As stated earlier, Prudence is an established author, home cook and mixologist. While her pool of fans is fairly small, it is an active one.
"I've been swimming against the tide my whole life. I used to be an outcast, a freak, until I found my place in this coven. Look where it got me. I thought I'd come home, but I was wrong... Go ahead, burn me. I shall not resist. I go proudly to the flame."

History:
Witchling
The community of those gifted in magic has been chaotic since the first covens, groups and coalitions formed. Perhaps even before that. Order is a fleeting notion amongst those that actively deal with disrupting it as a day job. The historical tapestry of Homo Magi and anyone remotely related to them is vividly colored. Accounts on events and people vary and many such occasions do not have definitive descriptions. Prudence Wharton's yarn within the tapestry is one that is very clear, however, and very distinctly colored. Despite her present status and having blossomed into a figure bordering on fantastical for some people, Prudence's origins were much more humble. She herself calls her past "dreadfully cliched."
Born into an unwanting family, Prudence's life was wrought with obstacles from day one. Her mother, Constance, was a devout Catholic and secretly a witch, who had suppressed her powers in her youth. Witchcraft was of the Devil and under no circumstances was she to succumb to it, let alone allow her daughter to suffer the same fate. Prudence's father, John Henry, was a prolific writer whose frequent substance abuse and adultery kept him away from the family. Even if he was present, he was often high as a kite and too aloof to properly care for Prudence. His heritage, however, kept the Wharton-Moore family fairly wealthy. Prue experienced little of it though.
When Prudence began showing vivid signs of magical ability, Constance turned to scripture and forbid her daughter from letting the Devil ensnare her even more. Aka, Prue couldn't practice magic. Not freely, anyway. Whenever she tried, less than savory punishments followed. So she did so in secret. Her small hometown didn't have much in the way of actual magical tomes or knowledge, but she learned what she could from where she could. Her mastery of Concilium got its start in these early stages. Prudence used her newfound gift to make her life slightly more tolerable. Her magical practices didn't go unnoticed, however, and prompted the attention of one Anna Leigh Leighton. The headmistress, or Sovereign, of an elite boarding school for witches, Leighton was always on the look for promising new talent. Soon enough, Leighton was on their doorstep and offered to give Prudence the necessary education she required.
Exceptional Young Woman
The young witch's years at Miss Robichaux's Academy were her most formative. A boarding school for any and all magically gifted, with a lengthy history stretching back to Salem. Prestigious was certainly one word for it. It was a place Prue would come to call home. Surrounded by peers who were there for similar reasons as her, it was a warm, comforting light at the end of a long, dark tunnel. Except even there, acceptance came with its own challenges. Prudence wasn't socially adept, she didn't know how to be. So she was always the odd one in the bunch. Be it because of her peculiar personality, growing sense of fashion or her, now highly unstable, natural powers.
But rather than cower or pity herself, Prue took it in stride. So despite her social challenges, she excelled in her magical and academic fields. Her determination and work ethic made Prue one of the finest witches in the Academy. Anna Leigh additionally took Prue under her wing personally and soon enough adopted the girl proper. The young witch eventually learned of her direct lineage to the Salem witches. Hence why her powers were already exceptionally vivid and strong. Prudence was of ancient power. Greatness was written in her tapestry. A fact Constance knew and hid from her. Unsurprising.
As she grew in power and skill, Prudence also her would-be rival, Fiona Goode. The two immediately were at odds, never seeing eye to eye, despite respecting one another's skills. What began as a seemingly playful rivalry, quickly turned into animosity. Fiona was an exceptionally selfish and privileged woman with a singular goal: to become Sovereign. The culmination of their years long rivalry happened when Fiona demanded that the test of the Seven Wonders be held.
The Council of Witches was requested to weigh in on the matter. Consisting of three members of the broader magical community (their members often rotated and kept fairly hush hush at all times), the Council acted as jurors on many magical matters, despite still being relatively unknown in the larger community. The Council needed the headmistress' approval and would also oversee the trials. Anna Leigh agreed on one condition: that Prudence would also partake. Initially taken aback by being used as a bargaining chip, Prue was convinced to use the tests as as a show of mettle. To prove how far she'd come.
Prudence, Fiona and four of their peers were selected to be tested. Despite the circumstances leading to the trial, it was a momentous occasion. The test of the Seven Wonders hadn't happened since Anna Leigh's ascension. So naturally, word spread throughout other covens in their circle.
The test itself was a lengthy and arduous process. Four days passed until the trial was considered complete. Two witches died and Fiona was exposed as having cheated throughout the trial, going as far as to use illusory spells (no matter how impressive the feat itself was) on one witch, nearly causing his death. While extreme punishments were considered by the Council, they settled on simply expelling Fiona from the academy. Bitter and vengeful, Fiona vowed to return and take the position she saw as hers.
Prudence, however, excelled and aside from the unfortunate events, was declared victor. The young witch (now in her 20s) certainly didn't feel that way though. Nonetheless, it was settled. Miss Robichaux's had its new would-be Sovereign.
Sovereign
Her reign as Sovereign was plentiful. Students rolled in, more and more moved on to become experts in their specific fields. The test of the Seven Wonders was reworked to also be a test of general skill and not a potentially lethal trial. Prudence kept busy and those years were kind to her. However, darker times lied ahead, beginning with the sudden death of Anna Leigh. A hue of suspicion immediately surrounded the tragedy. Prudence and her closest advisors chose to simplify the matter to the coven, however. A great witch of their age had simply passed onto the great beyond. She was buried in an elaborate crypt in one of the many famous New Orleans cemeteries, with many members of the magical community present to say their goodbyes. Including Fiona, who looked astoundingly young.
The meeting of the two old rivals was ripe with tension. Fake pleasantries and snide insults abound. But most surprisingly, Fiona came with her daughter Cordelia. A meek woman, clearly living in the all-encompassing shadow of her mother, with whom Prudence bonded immediately. The shared experiences were impossible to ignore. If there was one thing Fiona had done right, it was teaching her daughter witchcraft, and rather well for that matter. Words Prudence thought she'd never vocalize. Even then, however, it was all done to prop up Fiona herself even more. And as such, Fiona requested to stay at Miss Robichaux's for an extended period of time, to see how Cordelia would fit into the coven. And to have a chance to properly grieve Anna Leigh's death, or so she claimed. While Prue had her suspicions, she allowed it. If anything, Cordelia deserved to be among her peers. Little did Prudence know that her benevolence would be cruelly abused.
Fiona began inserting herself into every facet of the coven's operations. Prue did what she could to thwart her meddling, yet Fiona persisted. Like a festering rot, she swiveled into the lives of various students, gradually convincing them that she was the better teacher, a better leader. Fiona gathered a small coven in a coven and Prudence could do little to stop it. And when Cordelia finally gathered the courage and took the chance to warn the Sovereign of what was to come, it was already too late.
The emergency summoning of the Council came as a shock to Prue. Fiona had requested them regarding unexpected new developments about Anna Leigh's death. What followed was a barrage of evidence, revelations, and witness testimonies... against Prudence for having killed Anna Leigh Leighton to assume the position of Sovereign. Prudence's past as an outcast was also used against her. Prue's own testimony, while strong, was marred by the rage that had overcome her. It was as if she was a child again, being punished for whatever Constance thought up. They were strikingly similar in that regard, Fiona and Constance. Both wretched mothers. And so, Prudence's defense eventually crumbled, as she herself had no real evidence to refute the accusations. The dominoes had fallen and Prudence had lost. What was left was her punishment: death by burning.
Into Darkness
During their lengthy conversation, Prudence got more answers than she gave. Whether it was real and true didn't matter. She felt like she had gotten honesty out of her birthmother. Some things finally made sense and in a way, Prue understood. Then she wondered, for what felt like a century, how things would've been different under various other circumstances. She had all the time in eternity. Nothing was off limits now. It was as if she could reach all the answ---
She opened her eyes, the thought unfinished. A sudden surge of everything imaginable came upon her. Yet her body didn't move an inch, only her eyes. A face in her field of vision, eyes covered by large sunglasses, almost golden hair draping down, mere inches from her face. Cordelia. Her muffled, worried voice reaching out. It was an indescribable feeling, being alive again when you so distinctly remember what death was like. It felt like a violation of nature, even in a world where such laws were broken on a daily basis. She had seen both sides.
The following weeks were largely a matter of piecing things together and healing. She had been dead for over a year before Cordelia and a small pack of like-minded magicians managed to bring Prudence back to life. Resurrection was a feat more difficult than all of the Seven Wonders combined. But Cordelia was desperate and Fiona's reign had brought her to the brink. It finally forced Cordelia to grow a backbone and take charge. The preparations took a while, since secrecy was of the utmost importance. Luck was on their side, however. Fiona intended to expand the academy, sending Cordelia and her group outside of New Orleans to track down several prospective recruits. Using that guise, the magicians retrieved what was left of Prudence and began preparations.
Her plan ultimately successful, it required personal sacrifice. Cordelia lost her eyesight and the process killed three promising students. Prudence was furious, even when Cordelia assured her that everyone involved knew the risks. It seemed to have been their only sure option, as extreme as it was. Prudence eventually accepted that statement. Cordelia told Prue what had become of the coven and academy when Fiona took over, especially her obsession with life everlasting. Immortality had been a pet project of Fiona's for decades. Now that she had the resources and power, she was going to fully develop her time to reaching that forbidden power. Things were dire and Cordelia was afraid she was too late in her action.
The witches had to act quickly. Fiona most likely already knew that Prue was alive again. They prepared as well as they were able in short notice. Contacting old friends, attempting to reach the Council, but to no avail. So, with the few options at their disposal, the witches embarked on a mission to bring darkness into light.
The Winding Way
But what was most interesting was the strange woman standing over her.
Her skin green, contrasted by impossibly black, curly hair. Golden horns sprouting from her head, Prue uncertain whether it was a helmet or something part of her being. Fiona kneeled before her, bound to the floor by magic. Red, glowing seals around her wrists as she occasionally thrashed, attempting to release herself. The horned woman was murmuring a spell, repeating each verse after a time. Before Prudence could acknowledge recognizing the spell, their arrival was noticed. Particularly by Fiona. What followed was a showcase of pure rage, powerful enough to break the faux Sovereign free of her binds. Her gaze fixated on Prue, like a ravenous animal. Fiona swatted aside everyone in her way, her intention obvious.
The two elder witches clashed, both surprised by the strength of the other. It wasn't a showdown either of them had expected, but it was welcome. To say it was personal was putting it mildly. Years of pent up anger, jealousy, hatred, finally released without wavering. Regardless of Fiona's raw power, however, it was Prudence's skill and knowledge that ultimately declared her the victor. As a final punishment, Prudence trapped Fiona into her own personal hell; one where she was utterly unremarkable in every conceivable way. She knew that Fiona's hubris and narcissism wouldn't let her conquer what she feared most. A woman incapable of true change. Her body crumbled to dust, leaving but a tainted legacy.
When the dust settled, a quiet aftermath followed. The woman, now introducing herself as Margali Szardos, a practitioner of the Winding Way. She offered her aid in rebuilding the academy. Prudence refused. It was a coven matter, despite her being grateful for her efforts. She did, however, ask why Margali came to their aid. The sorceress merely stated that it was where the Winding Way lead her. Seeing how her magical expertise could be inspiring to the young witches of the academy, Prudence asked Margali if she would stay for a time. While the Winding Way was an unpredictable path, it allowed the sorceress to accept the offer. The academy and New Orleans returned to relative normalcy quicker than expected. Lingering, hazy memories of what occurred, remained in the minds of some, however. Suitable measures were taken to keep the truth concealed. Prudence officially adopted Cordelia as her daughter and began training her extensively. Miss Robichaux's continued to rebuild and accept new pupils, with Margali occasionally teaching the young pupils aspects of her source of magic, but was more instrumental in helping them building their own abilities.
Prudence and Margali became good acquaintances, sharing stories and secrets from their fairly long lives, with Prudence feeling like a student again next to her. An exhilarating feeling, learning from someone so accomplished, yet still a mystery. Margali's presence was haphazard, as her path often required her to go where the Way summoned her. Eventually, the time came when Szardos was summoned away to embark on another journey. One where she could not disclose the details to a, now dear friend. Regardless, both knew that their paths would cross again, one way or another. The two women then parted as good allies, both having their own necessary tasks to protect and build the magical world.
Nevermore
The following years saw sizable developments at the academy. In its new age, Miss Robichaux's became one of the shining beacons of magical education in the Southern United States. Though more importantly, Prudence's training of Cordelia had reached its zenith. The woman was now cemented as Prue's successor, having passed the tests and having proven herself as a capable leader. Everything seemed to have fallen in place exactly as it should have. Especially since Prudence's talents were soon needed elsewhere.
The disturbance, followed by a sudden cataclysm all over the world, was felt especially strongly among those with magic. As soon as chaos ensued, Margali Szardos appeared at the academy. She did not come alone this time. A group of other magicians were with her, most of whom she recognized through previous engagements or by reputation. An interesting collection. Years of catching up had to wait, as Margali grabbed Prudence, explaining only that she was a key component in thwarting what felt like the end of the world. Prudence left Cordelia with an embrace and a telling look, the mother and daughter knowing exactly what either one must do.
Her knowledge of the world was vast, but even Prudence was impressed by the sheer amount of theatrics and dramatics between the organizations that attempted to deal with such a threat as Enchantress. While other heroes were preoccupied by dealing with collateral and preventing further damage and loss, A.R.G.U.S. took charge in handling the proper threat. The group of these masters in the arcane was an effective one, considering that they were brought together by desperation. The odd group faced off against the ancient sorceress atop the planet's highest peak. A fitting scene for an ordeal of such magnitude. An arduous battle commenced, aided in addition by the mythical Doctor Fate, a figure Prudence had never been a fan of. Too set in his ways. Yet, his involvement ensured their victory, as they managed to exorcise Enchantress from the body of the poor June Moone and end the would-be cataclysm.
As the, now, team and the world picked up the pieces, the pertinent question remained: What to do with June Moone?
The question immediately divided them all. Some going as far as to suggest putting the girl out of her misery, their blame directed towards June and their paranoia of Enchantress returning being obvious. Prudence was staunchly in favor of the girl's survival and possible prosperity at a life, where she wasn't haunted by a primordial entity. Doctor Fate agreed and June Moone was granted a new lease on life, with the condition that nobody else, aside from Fate, would know where June was. A measure to protect her well-being from the treacherous world of magic.
Crisis averted, but many looming threats still at large, the band of magicians decided to form a proper collective, at the behest of Doctor Strange. Threats that couldn't be solved by normal means, even by their standards and beings the public should never be aware of, became the bread and butter of Darkwatch. The name left much to be desired for Prudence, but it worked well enough. They would work from the shadows, deal with the eccentric and improbable in their own unique way. It was a thrilling challenge for The Sovereign, who realized that her commitment to this team would mean that the academy needed a new leader. But it was something Prudence had prepared for years.
Returning to Miss Robichaux's was bittersweet. Her students welcoming her return with a feast and festivities for a savior of the world. But her most poignant moment was with Cordelia, who knew what was coming. They needed to say little and instead focused on a grandiose ceremony of ethereal beauty to coronate Cordelia as the next Sovereign of the academy. Part of Prudence's work was indeed finally done. It was a relief to leave the school at the hands of such a capable witch and to know that she could come back to her home at any point. But a higher purpose called to her, one which she could not refuse. New horizons, exciting beyond measure and a new band of misfits to embark on adventures with. As such, Prudence retired her Sovereign title, even if she would still be called by that name by some of her teammates, and took on a name she had already used before. One which had personal meaning and enough mystique, as well as the simple reasoning of "why the hell not?": Madame Moon.
So continues the story of Prudence Leigh Wharton. A woman who has experienced more than most could imagine and little enough to know that there was so much more to encounter. In the world of magic, the impossible doesn't exist, only possibility. And Madame Moon has certainly not cast her last spell.
Role Play Sample:
The residence of Darkwatch was a marvel to behold. A building that could change at will in the right circumstances and something that housed both old and new. A place where each of the eponymous' team's members could experience something unique to only themselves. But overall, it was a gorgeous house of rustic ambiance and deep history. And, per Prudence's request, filled with tartan curtains. A pattern so genius it could be considered underrated and wrongly used far too often.
Madame Moon was inhabiting the common area, her hands above a strange instrument, moving in unpredictable manner. The theremin. An instrument that could produce celestially pleasing tunes, though not everyone's cup of tea. Its echoes made the house feel like something out of a low-budget ghost movie. It soothed her soul to its very core, however. The strange waves of sound calming her to a fault. She let her mind wander through her numerous memories and current wonderings. Largely related to her desire to know how the academy was doing. She knew that she could visit at any time, but Prudence had to give the little birds space to grow. They needed young, fresh eyes to guide them on their magnificent paths. A sense of pride overcame her. She had no doubt that Cordelia would continue to lead the students towards greatness.
Her long-time companion, Margali Szardos quietly entered and sat down on one of the sofas to listen to Prudence's mastery of the instrument. She knew she needed not say a word and simply let the music speak.
"I am glad you came to appreciate these immortal cosmic tunes, Margali."
"It is a strange instrument still. But I have grown accustomed to it."
"Your taste has thankfully improved, my dear. If only our other magical excellencies would follow suit!"
Prue continued to play, as the theremin's waves of sound reached every corner of the room, and some even beyond. Music was its own kind of magic and Madame Moon was lucky enough to be spectacular in drawing out the notes that could touch the very essence of someone's being.
