[Music in spoiler]
Name: Rikimaru Takahiro
Gender: Male
Race: Shinigami
Canon/OC: OC
Visual Appearance:
Physical Description: Taka stands at about 5ft 10in, a lithe man weighing around 160lbs, keeping a toned physique due to his life as a Shinigami. He has a happy feel about him, a slight smile always upturned at the sides of his lips, and is more apparent in the twinkle in his grayish green eyes. Taka has long black hair that he keeps swept back and lets spill down over his shoulders haphazardly, reaching his mid back/below his chest. Across his upper left cheek, curving under his eye, are three black dots he got tattooed at some point in the past.
Clothing/Misc. Items: As a Shinigami, he is most often found wearing his shihakusho, though he has modified it slightly, only wearing the left side of the kosode, the right side removed so it looks more like a monk style robe with a long green sash tying around his wrist and flowing off his left side, a string of black beads wrapped around his right wrist, and he wears a pair of wooden sandals as opposed to the customary woven ones. Carried inside his robe with his zanpakuto is a drinking gourd often filled with sake. Taka also has three ear piercings, two lobe piercings that are often occupied with a set of red rings, and on his right ear an upper lobe that he just leaves a black stud in. When he’s getting ready to fight, he ties his hair up with the string of beads on his wrist.
Sexuality: Bisexual
Goals: Become a Captain before Suo.
General Personality: Taka likes to live as relaxed as he can, loving to take time and drink tea under a tree, read a book, go on a walk, etc. He’s a chill guy who is rarely seen without at least a hint of a smile, and is often at ease around most people he meets (though there are always exceptions) doing his best to get along with people, surely he can find some common ground right? He’s even known to chat up his opponents while fighting, keeping his lax and cheery demeanor as a way to put them off kilter, sometimes he even manages to learn something useful if they don’t catch on to his game. Taka is also fiercely loyal, ready to defend those he loves with every ounce of effort he can manage, even having the rare moment of explosive temper that only pops up once in a blue moon. Many would probably know him for his paintings, Taka often seen out painting whenever he has free time, he will often leave the painting somewhere with a note saying it’s free to take, he doesn’t have room to keep them in his quarters anymore. Alcohol is a bit of a weakness of his, a good drink often being a good way to convince Taka into something if he’s being stubborn.
History:
Growing up in the Rukongai was rarely easy, but he scraped by enough. Taka found that it was easiest to treat everyone there like they were going through the same difficulties as him, being a friendly neighbor to the people around him, helping them where he could, he became a bit of an odd job guy. It was then that he started to paint, liking to go paint scenery of the city and such to relax, it was a good reprieve from everything else. It was one of these times painting that he was admiring his finished piece, when suddenly it was snatched! Some thief grabbed it right in front of him and ran off ”Get back here. Art thief, art thief!!” he shouted as he chased her, but damn she was really fast. He asked around for her sometimes, catching a glimpse of her once or twice, but every time he tried to chase her down she would just run off without a second thought. Eventually he just gave up on finding her, instead deciding to focus on a new goal. The Shin’o Academy.
Through years of hard work and training, Taka finally made it in. Life was going to change for the better after this, it would be hard work but he’d have a purpose. The Academy was full of strangers who were all more talented, or from some powerful family, but even then Taka fit in with ease by just being his relaxed self, right up until he saw that art thief. What was she doing here! After she claimed not to know who he was he gave her a bit of a wide berth, throwing himself into his training, declaring to her that he’d become a Captain before she would...he wasn’t really sure why he felt some sort of rivalry towards her, but he wanted to prove something.
He was never amazing with any Kido, though he persisted enough to learn a small number of spells, having enough power to cast some mid-level ones with practice, it was the beginning of Taka cultivating a list of well rounded skills. Through his hard work he graduated ranking near the top of his class, and was saddened to find out that Sue had ranked so low because of her temper, even though he wasn’t particularly fond of the girl he knew she was leagues better than most of the class. Still, he counted this as a victory over her and hoped to capitalize on it by……
Getting snubbed for the Squad 1 position!? As it turned out, Sue did get some recognition, ending up in Squad 1 where he was hoping to take a bid. In the end he decided he wanted to find a different route to hone his skills, taking up in Squad 11. Though with his relaxed temperament and his love of art he definitely had something to prove to the squad, so he challenged every member of the squad, often, using the sparring matches to learn different fighting styles and techniques, discovering a knack for hand to hand fighting, adding to his repertoire of up close and personal style combat. Not too long into his time with Squad 11 he released his sword for the first time, and a whole new world was opened up to him. Through his training he was promoted upwards, moving squads and eventually becoming the 3rd seat of Squad 9 under the command of Hisagi, their Captain’s seat remaining unclaimed for now….maybe it could be his if he was lucky. Skipping a seat would be hard, especially without achieving bankai. That would be his next step then, Vice Captain or bankai. Either way was another step to being a Captain.
Faction: Squad 9
Rank: 3rd Seat
Physical Abilities/Power: Taka would like to say he has a versatile fighting style, using both his sheath and sword when it isn’t in its released form. As he has a shortsword, Taka gets in close and uses his speed to barrage his enemy with attacks, switching which hand his sword is in vs his sheath to keep the opponent on their toes. Due to the way his weapon changes in released form, he has practiced with a large number of different kinds of weapons (primarily swords) to broaden the variety of styles and techniques he can use in battle. In his time with Squad 11 he learned a lot about many kinds of fighting styles, the squad’s voracious love of fighting working in his favor. In order to be as versatile as possible, Taka has practiced a lot in hand to hand combat as well, having a bit of repute as a fierce pugilist.
The weapons he has the most experience with are swords for the most par as his shikai can mostly only imitate sword-like weapons;
Shortsword
Longsword
Greatsword
Broadsword
Scimitar
Kido:
Hado
Hado #1: Sho
Hado #4: Byakurai
Hado #32: Okasen
Bakudo
Bakudo #8: Seki
Bakudo #26: Kyokko
Bakudo #37: Tsuriboshi
Zanpakuto: Geijutsu no Tamashi
Sword
Taka’s sword takes the form of a wakizashi who’s white hilt is wrapped in dark green, the tsuba made of darkened bronze depicts a mountain covered in clouds, his whole sword a piece of art that he cherishes. He wears the weapon on the inside of his robe on the left, often obscured from sight.
Spirit
The spirit of Geijutsu no Tamashi is a strange quadrupedal creature with no eyes, covered in black fur that is only broken by the ever changing swirls of color that appear at the back, front limbs, horns, face, claws, teeth, and tail. The color looks to be flowing at all times, moving like ink across a page before it dries, but never dripping off of the odd beast. Its teeth are sharp and menacing, the top and bottom canines extending beyond the mouth in a dramatic curve, they part for a creepily long tongue that looks as though it shouldn’t fit. Geijutsu no tamashi’s tail is similarly long, with multiple wicked barbs near the tip that are also covered in the odd ink-like substance. At all times it carries an orb of glass that seems to act as the creature’s eye, often letting it roll across its body without it ever falling to the floor.
Inner World
His inner world is a nighttime forest overseen by a massive crescent moon that drips light down into the river that parts the forest in half, providing intense light and intense shadows from which Geijutsu no tamashi will appear on a whim, the ultimate predator in its perfect hunting grounds.
Shikai: ”Become, Geijutsu no Tamashi”
In its shikai form the sword becomes a double edged short sword with a thin triangular blade that meets the hilt at a glass orb that swirls with a liquid that is constantly moving and changing colors. The ability of this weapon is centered around the ink that is held inside the glass orb, Taka can call forth the ink to become an extended blade around the original, the liquid forming into whatever shape he wishes as long as it doesn’t exceed the amount of ink he has. He may also change the shape at will, but changing the shape causes the entirety of the ink to desolidify until the new shape is taken, even allowing him to fire off small blades at his enemies, though this reduces the amount of ink he has to use for his weapon shaping. As he fights and ink is destroyed or lost, the orb will begin to fill with ink again, however he can only add to the currently used ink if it is the same color as whatever is being used at the time, making a sort of cooldown for repairing his weapon.
Bankai: (Unachieved) ”Paint upon the canvas, Sozo no Tamashi!”
In its bankai form, the weapon becomes a pair of orbs identical to the one at the hilt of his shikai with the exception of being twice the size. Each is filled with colorful ink as before, and they float near Taka’s hands. As before the ink is called forth and takes the shape of whatever Taka imagines (provided he has the ink). The ink from both orbs can mix to maximize the amount, following all of the rules of the shikai form with one exception, he can solidify part of the ink without solidifying the rest, allowing him to create a cutting edge in a quick instant, or flow around an enemy before capturing them in a sudden cocoon, and other such effects. The orbs can move up to five meters from him in any direction, and will often be used in his weaponry or attacks.
