Physical Appearance: Kim is a deceptively athletic girl. You wouldn’t necessarily notice it at first, but her body is nimble and toned underneath all of the dress and finery that she wears. Kim goes to great lengths to downplay her physical presence, from how she carries herself in her daily life to emphasizing her feminine features. Her pixie-cut hair combs over her face, its cool teal both distinctive and disarming. Kim is above-average height for a young woman, nearly five feet and nine inches, an impression that is made more imposing by her heels.
Clothing: Kim’s outfit consists of a few different pieces. The base layer is a form-fitting tunic and leggings, both of which are the same color as her hair. The second piece is an apron-like gown that covers her torso and arms, and goes down past her waist like a skirt. Although a maid’s apron is the first thing that would come to mind when one sees it, it also has a certain elegance to it - chiefly from the numerous feathered ruffles and flourishes throughout - that suggests other function. A similar item is the headband that rests on the crown of Kim’s head, emphasizing the maid-like aesthetic of the attire. The third and final piece of Kim’s clothing are the accoutrements for her hands and feet. The former are semi-fingerless gloves, with some sleeves to protect her against the elements of her current activity, and some sleeveless to give her a certain sense of style and a rather random freedom of movement in those areas. The latter is twofold: first, dark-blue stockings, with a feathery design similar to the dress, that run down her legs and end at her shins. Secondly, the shoes themselves, simple but finely made high-heeled boots that give her a couple inches off the ground.

Personal Information

General Personality: Kim has a cool persona, even-handed and equally friendly to everyone that she meets. She does not get overly excited about anything, and when she does show happiness, it is not done with much more than a smile. Nothing fazes the girl, positively and negatively… visibly, anyway. She is, in a word, introspective, often lingering on the before rather than the now, least of all the future. This can cause her to come off as slow-minded or even oblivious, a facade that she is content to indulge for as long as people continue to believe in it.
Habits: Kim often has a distant look in her eyes, bordering on zen emptiness. It can mean a multitude of things, especially depending on where she is at that moment. At work, Kim’s distance speaks to a casual aloofness that is (mostly) endearing to her peers as well as the other employees at the cafe. While coming off as apathetic at times, the devil-may-care attitude has attracted a fair number of admirers, and maintains a calm energy about the establishment that contributes to a healthy environment. The same goes for her role as a tourist guide, often putting attendants at ease while she stares down wild Pokemon with blank courage. Among her peers, outside of work, Kim’s distance marks her as a wallflower, never willing to break the ice, content to keep to the fringes of a conversation. Whether this is for good or ill is up to the perspectives of each of the people in a given situation. With that job, Kim’s aloofness is shown to be only one side of the coin; the other is a deadly focus that blocks out all unnecessary things, intent only on the goal that lies before her, and how she may best achieve it. It is the side of her that Kim wishes no one else to see… at times, that includes herself.
Goal: Speaking candidly, Kim came to Altair to “discover herself”, cliche and all. It is in some ways a new start for her, away from what had come before, and in other ways not, continuing what has always been a part of her life, perhaps inescapably so.
History:
Their upbringing was steeped in strict traditions and rigid customs. Given that it was a ninja clan, in Fuchsia no less, that was not necessarily surprising, though no less difficult for it. They trained them to the bone, alongside their many siblings and fellow students in this prestigious academy. How a ninja clan was profitable, or so prominent within the city, was not something they understood, nor was it ever explained to them in a way that made sense. It was simply their way of life for as long as anyone in the clan had ever known, and so it had been. They took well to the training in spite of it. Very well, in fact. Given that they were the eldest of the clan leaders, that was not necessarily a surprise, though it only made what followed more complicated. While not the best ninja among their peers, they were close, and it brought them a great deal of attention; much of it was unwanted.

They had always preferred to keep to themselves, doing well enough to avoid notice, but not so well that they stood out in the clan. They weren’t exactly conventional, and often preferred what was taboo, for reasons that elude them to this day. That blissful ignorance quickly came to an end when they, among a select few, began to be groomed to take their masters’ place. Their masters - which is to say, their parents - were exceptionally demanding, and just as remiss to permit deviation from the life that had been laid out for them. The hobbies that gave them brief respite from the ardor of the training and rituals ended (in the open, anyway) often with harsh reprimands that bordered on cruel. Their peers saw these things as just, and if they didn’t, they were never comforted by these so-called peers when they were by themselves. Their loneliness compounded upon itself, from being told every day that they were not who they knew themselves to be, to being measured against others that they had no interest in competing against, yet had to all the same. These circumstances culminated in the difficult decision to leave it all behind. In a week, Kim would arrive in Altair City, with everything from her old life that she was comfortable bringing with her.

Accommodating to her new life was more difficult than anything Kim had ever done before. The fear of being thought less of for who she was - or worse, if her past somehow caught up with her - paralyzed her for days at a time. Thanks to new friends and new opportunities in Altair, she was able to make waves as the person that she had always hoped that she could be. She settled for simpler things, not the least of which was a waitress job at a quaint coffee shop downtown, with a more than helpful wingwoman. It was exactly what Kim had been looking for… and yet, she could not entirely keep away from what was behind her. There was still that driving edge, an ambition to rise above and to find that spirit within her that she had been raised to believe in. There was still plenty of uncertainty in her life… but at least now it could be on her terms.
