Athena is a youthful teenage girl, still regarded as "just a child" in the eyes of many despite her nature. She has a toned lithe body from both genetic enhancement and physical training. Her teal colored neck length hair is somewhat shaggy with bangs that reach her eyes. Athena's eyes are a rich blue to the point of being a shade of violet.
Her black, blue and gray pilot suit is a prototype of ones that the Ple-series cloned Newtype corps will wear. Her officer uniform is a lilac color with black colored tights.
Personality:
Athena doesn't let her status as a failure drag her down, she walks and talks with the confidence of a professional. On the inside she is painfully aware that she is a failed project and doesn't like having anyone that knows rub it in her face. She can be a bit brash and quick to act, wanting to prove herself to Haman and show that despite her handicap she is just as capable as the Ple-series. Athena holds Haman on a bit of pedestal, wishing to carry herself with as much grace and presence as her one day. Though she does not like being bullied about her age or track record with the project.
History:
Athena was born a few years before the One Year War, the Flanagan Institute found her on screening at one of the colonies within the Principality. She would barely remember the Earth sphere before being shipped away to Axis at the end of the war. Athena was thought to be in the lead in comparison to other projects for years, but after numerous failed demonstrations of her supposed abilities... the project was put on hold. Despite the project associated with Athena providing useful data to the greater goal, her performance did not meet the standards set by Axis leadership. It wasn't for lack of piloting skill, physical endurance or mental capabilities, Athena had lost control of the funnels she was meant to control and caused significant damages on more than one occasion.
While the cloning of the other subject had begun, a lengthy investigation later determined her weakened abilities were the result of a defective design of the implant limiters meant to prevent any brainwave overloads. This design flaw caused Athena's commands to be delayed, limited signal transmissions returning back and even erroneous impulses. The implants while faulty were said to eventually properly tune to her wavelengths and output as she used them. A procedure was available to replace the implants but was decided against due to the risk and extensive resources required.
Athena was a failure and she felt reminded of that everytime she was introduced to an officer privy to her development. She was first put to use as a test pilot, fine tuning psycommu hardware and systems. However better candidates would later take on that role, leaving her to be assigned as a specialist to regular units, operating as a psychic radar in either a recon or as frontline skirmisher. She was extremely bitter whenever compared to Elpeo Ple, even lashing out in anger at an officer who presumed her to be just as carefree and gentle. However Athena was corrected directly by Haman that even a failure can contribute towards the greater goal without being a source of negativity. She felt that Haman was being genuine with her in the very least and not coddled like the few scientists that made sure she was still fit for duty. Athena aspired to be more like Haman who was once in a similar position as a young girl with Newtype abilities.
