Powers/Abilities:
Telepathy
Emma Frost is often cited as a telepath of the highest order, with her extremely refined abilities being considered to be among the most powerful next to Charles Xavier and Jean Grey. Her great experience and skill have allowed Emma to best even those who may be above her in raw power. Her abilities encompass all of the telepathic standards in place, ranging from simple mind reading to irrevocably damaging someone's mind. She is among the few telepaths on Earth who is able to perfectly and seamlessly alter a mind, for instance.
Psionic Shield
Emma can erect a psychic shield for protection of herself and other minds. She is immune or highly resistant to any/all mental intrusion, including psychic or empathic powers, hypnosis, illusions, deception, etc.
Psionic Shields Removal
She can easily remove psionic defenses placed by other people, though the effect on the subject's mind varies. In some cases, it works seamlessly. In others, it can damage the subject's mind, its effects ranging from migraines to changing the entire personality or perception of the subject. In addition to that, Emma can use her telepathy through mutant scanning devices' detection beams such as Sentinels, bypassing the devices' shielding to affect their operators.
Telepathic Mind Cloaking
Emma can telepathically mask her presence and the use of her abilities from being detected by other mutants and psychic entities. These defenses can be extended to others around them as well. Cloaking via telepathy is not perfect and powerful telepathic mutants may notice and see through this ability. This also includes the ability to rearrange the mental engrams of mutants so her distinctive mutant thought patterns cannot be detected by Cerebro-type devises or by other telepaths.
Telepathic Illusions
Emma can create realistic telepathic illusions and cause people to experience events which are not actually occurring. These illusions can also be used to help others fight against pain or simply surround them with more pleasant environments, along with the opposite, giving her subjects painful illusions of their fears.
Absorb and Download Information
Emma can quickly process and store information, by mental transference. She can, similarly, place large amounts of information in another's mind.
Astral Projection and Astral Combat
Emma can project one's astral form (or her own) from their body onto astral planes or the physical planes. Astral forms can travel vast distances, though that depends on both Emma's and the subject's control, will, and the distance travelled. Emma is also a master astral combatant, capable of using the realm's possibilities to their highest extent.
Power Inhibition
Emma can place psychic inhibitors in the minds of her adversaries to prevent them from using their powers. This is not permanent and lasts longest when she is in their immediate vicinity.
Pain Inducement
Emma can induce mental pain telepathically. The amount of pain can be freely manipulated by her.
Heal Trauma
Emma can erase a person’s memories and to heal mental trauma through psychic surgery by simulating or deadening the pain and pleasure centers in a person's brain.
Intuitive Multilingualism
Emma can intuitively translate and understand any language.
Mind Control
The ability to control the thoughts and actions of others. Emma's skill with this ability is nigh perfect, as she is only limited by the subject's willpower, her own control and vicinity and the amount of people she is able to control at once. The more people she controls, the less nuanced and specific commands she can give them. Currently that number stands at about 30 people at once, before she begins experiencing mental strain. That amount of people can also only be given simple commands and tasks. The fewer people she manipulates, the more detailed her instructions can become.
Mind Link
Emma can develop a mental link with one person or a number of people. As of now, that number stands at about 15, with every mind linked subject able to communicate with only thoughts. The maximum range when the mind link works is around 3.7 miles.
Mental Paralysis
Emma can induce temporary mental or physical paralysis. She can freely select the points of paralysis and maintain them for lengthy periods, but she cannot use this in a lethal manner.
Mental Sedation
Emma can telepathically sedate one's victims so that, if already rendered unconscious, they remain so for as long as a telepath continues to sedate them. Sedating conscious subjects requires more direct effort if they are aware of her presence.
Mind Alteration
Emma can alter the minds of others by force of will, changing their personality partially or entirely. This can also be used to implant subconscious thoughts like unexplained aversion to certain words or ideas.
Mental Amnesia
Emma can cause loss of particular memories or total amnesia in another person or group of people. It is typically used when an incident is needed to keep under wraps.
Telepathic Detection and Tracking
Emma can sense the presence of another person, mutant or not, within a small radius of herself (500 yards in diameter) by perceiving the distinctive mental radiations emitted by a being. Emma can also track other sentient beings by their unique psionic emanations. The range of her tracking capabilities is around 30 miles with conscious effort before the subject's mind becomes too blended in with those in their vicinity.
Psionic Blasts
Emma can project Psionic force bolts or blast waves which can do damage on either a physical or mental level and which can affect a victim's mind so as to cause the victim pain or unconsciousness. Emma has been shown to use this ability as a reflexive response to a physical attack, resulting in the aggressor being thrown across the room.
Psionic Lightning
Emma can channel the ambient Psionic energy in the air through a target having a physical effect.

Organic Diamond Form
As a result of undergoing a body-wide Secondary Mutation, Emma possesses the ability to transform her body into a flexible organic diamond form. In many ways, this is similar to Colossus' organic steel form. She must transform all parts of her body, rather than selectively transforming certain areas and can remain in this form for an undetermined amount of time. If she is rendered unconscious, Frost's body will automatically transform into its normal state. This transformation also alters Frost's personality, causing her to become even more cold-hearted than usual and to lose her empathy for others. Emma does not have access to her telepathy while in her diamond form. Her diamond form has a single point of weakness in her nape. Striking that point with enough force a couple of times will shatter her diamond form and leave her unable to use it for a short period.
Superhuman Strength
In her diamond form, Emma's physical strength is increased to superhuman levels. At her peak, she is able to lift approximately 2 tons.
Superhuman Stamina
While transformed, her muscles produce almost no fatigue toxins during physical activity, granting her almost limitless superhuman stamina, or at least until or unless she is forced to resume her normal state.
Superhuman Durability
Frost's diamond form renders her highly resistant to most forms of physical injury. She is able to resist great impact forces, such as being repeatedly struck with superhuman force, without being injured. She can easily deflect bullets unless of a high enough caliber going fast enough and has survived direct hits from a small missile. Her body is also resistant to temperature extremes, able to withstand temperatures as cold as -390 degrees Fahrenheit or as hot as approximately 7362 degrees Fahrenheit before her form begins to melt. Frost is also self-sustained while transformed, requiring no food or water.
Psychic Immunity
Emma has shown to be immune to other telepathic powers in her diamond form, but in turn, she is unable to use her own telepathic powers until she turns back.

Expert Technician
Emma is highly skilled in electronic theory and electronics and has learned how to exactly build devices that can amplify psionic energy and utilize psionic energy for various effects. She has modified and improved Cerebro many times.
Adept Hand-to-Hand Combatant
Emma is an above-average athlete and has had extensive combat training during and prior to her time with the X-Men, making her a more than capable physical fighter when needed, particularly when in her diamond form.
Expert Strategist/Leader
Having managed both businesses and schools, Emma's expertise in these fields is impressive. Though some of her skill has been achieved through her telepathy, she still has enough acumen to be considered a legit player. Her leadership within the Xavier Institute and also occasionally the X-Men has proven to be fruitful on more than one occasion. As such, she is currently in charge of everything financially relevant to the team.
Weapons/Items:
Wealth
As CEO of Frost International and through inheritance, Emma Frost is a fairly wealthy woman. While not infinite, her financial resources are enough to sponsor a large portion of X-Men operations as well as everything related to the Xavier Institute.
Contact Network
Emma's network of people she knows is impressive. She has managed to insert herself into several influential organizations and groups and even if she isn't a part of some of them now, Emma still retains her contacts and has people at hand for almost any possible need.

Appearance

Physical Appearance:
Describing Emma Frost as "self-aware " about her appearance is an understatement. She is a woman who has deliberately built upon her existing features to be a person everyone looks at when she enters a room. She knows that she can draw eyes and fully basks in it. It's also a mechanism to have people underestimate her, even when she always stands as if she is the most impressive person in the room (and oftentimes she is). Emma has sharp features, making each of her expressions look as if she is more pissed than anything else. That, is also, often, deliberate. Her intimidating gaze is enhanced by her striking hazel eyes and blonde hair, that she nowadays largely keeps at short to medium length and cut in a way that moves as sharply as she does. She stands at around 5'10" and has a lithe figure that doesn't necessarily show how adeptly athletic she is. Emma's appearance is both a tool and something she genuinely takes pride in upkeeping.
Clothing And Armor:
As much pride as Emma takes in her physical appearance, she gives just as much effort when it comes to what she wears. Her attire is almost always a statement, a choice, a critique, and also an endorsement of the ridiculous garb that too many people choose to wear. A large portion of her outfits leave fairly little to the imagination. She is someone who is completely comfortable in her body and who she is, paying absolutely no mind to what someone may think of her or what she might wear. As such, Emma's attire consists of stunning tailor-made outfits, for every occasion. While their general look may change, elements of each outfit echo one another, not to mention almost all of them being pure white. Capes and jackets are commonplace with what she wears, making her attire look twice as dramatic as it would otherwise. Each of her outfits has dozens of details woven in, some signifying an era Emma may be in at the time, some there just for the heck of it. Regardless of what she wears, it's always stunning and that's doubly enforced when someone disapproves. Unlike most X-Uniforms, Emma's outfits aren't generally reinforced. They can withstand enough damage, but she typically relies on her diamond form when needed.
"Yes, I am a massive snob. There was no need for you all to think it at once."

General Personality:
There are few people who can say they're fully aware of and in tune with themselves. Emma Frost is one of them. Throughout her lengthy career, Emma has had many adjectives associated with her. The list is long enough to make for a decently sized novel and most have decidedly negative connotations to them. That is nothing new to her, however. In fact, they're all true. She is cold, calculating, cunning, incredibly sharp-witted, narcissistic, and so on. Even when she knows there's more nuance to her seemingly cut and dry personality, Emma makes little to no effort trying to argue with those who claim otherwise. She prefers to simply agree with them and let them live in their world of preconceived notions. When she proves them wrong, it's all the more gratifying. And when she does prove them right, it's always through the lens of her personality traits being necessary for success.
It's not wrong to assume that Emma thinks she's the smartest person in the room, because she usually is. She is incredibly knowledgeable of how the world works and how to operate within that complex system and particularly, how to come out on top. Emma is a pragmatic woman, firmly rooted in realism, who has no time for ideological arguments when there is work to do. She knows what the goal is and shows her viewpoint through her actions, rather than endless bickering. She does it in her own ways and through her own methods, some of which look unseemly to many onlookers. It doesn't matter, because she knows she is doing the necessary work. Emma is an intimidating figure of authority who will call anyone out on their bullshit without a second thought. She is rarely wrong and it's why she butts heads with a majority of the people she interacts with. A deliberate woman in every sense of the word, she never works without a plan and three back-up plans. She rarely backs down and only does so when she knows that, down the line, it will lead to triumph. Oftentimes, that means she has a secret plan at hand and finds the use of the element of surprise exceedingly necessary. Everything will fall into place when it has to and then she will strike.
Underneath her imposing nature, however, is a woman having experienced years of trauma, loss, and guilt. Some might call it a mask, she doesn't. Emma has nothing to hide. She knows full well of what the world turned her into, what she has done, and how she failed her own. Yet that tends to only fuel others' speculations about her. An amusing conundrum. But it has taken her on a journey of redemption and does that through ensuring the continued evolution and advancement of her people. Teaching a new generation is something she has especially taken to heart. They need to be better than she was, but most importantly of all, they need to be true to themselves to the core. Conforming to set standards would only set them back. She's something of an expert in the matter. That also made her into a person who has become incredibly protective of her pupils and many of her peers. There is nothing and nobody out there quite like Emma when enraged. Particularly when it comes from a fierce desire to protect.
Emma is also known for her wit. Nobody is safe from the stinging genius of her words. Rumor has it that a group of Institute students have compiled a book on "The Shit Emma Frost Says." While she hasn't fully commented on it, she does find it humorous enough. Needless to say that she has a way with words as much as she does with her actions. Her colourful euphemisms and banter make Emma a person many love to hate and hate to love even more so. She perhaps has the most fun with Dr. Henry McCoy, her closest intellectual peer (yes, she knows he is a doctor) and the person who became Emma's first true friend when she joined the X-Men proper. Those who bother to get to know Emma, will indeed learn that she has a wicked sense of humor, though that is, decidedly, an acquired taste.
Emma Frost is a woman of many aspects, all of which she keeps at the forefront when necessary. There is almost nothing nobody can say about her that she already hasn't heard or doesn't know. And while she is headstrong in what her beliefs are and how she carries herself, she is still someone who wants acceptance as much as anyone else and will prove herself deserving as such.

History:
"Pride & Joy"
Emma Grace Frost was born to a Boston mercantile family, with roots in England, having arrived in the US in the 1600s. The third of four siblings, their family life followed many of the patterns and customs of a high-class English family. Standards were high for all of the siblings. Straying from expectations was usually met with abuse from their father with their mother dying after the strenuous birth of Cordelia, the youngest sibling. The first to crumble was Christian, who began to suffer from substance abuse as a means to escape the abuse and the drudgery of his life. Emma soon followed suit. This mainly manifested in her low grades and rebellion against her father. Placed into an all-girls boarding school, Emma began to experience severe migraines, a sign of her manifesting mutant powers.
A social outcast while at the school, Emma was pushed to a breaking point by bullies, causing her first proper emergence of her telepathy. Suffering from a mental breakdown, Emma rendered everyone at the school unconscious. A feat immediately detected by one Charles Xavier. Shortly after, Xavier paid Emma a visit, attempting to have her join his school. Even with her father's knowledge of her children's probable mutant powers, he shut the idea down. Emma also showed little interest and managed to quickly deduct what she could do and how to best control it. She began increasingly excelling in all aspects of her life due to her already impressive use of her telepathy. She also then decided on a future of teaching, much to her father's disapproval and coerced her into giving up on the idea.
When time came to choose a worthy successor, Christian was dismissed due to his revealed homosexuality and substance abuse, being sent to an institution soon after. Cordelia was still much too young and while Adrienne seemed to be the most obvious choice, Winston chose Emma. An ill thought out decision, as Emma refused and chose to make her own way through life. Her father disowned her and having graduated, Emma took to living on her own in Boston.
Runaway Girl
Staying at a hotel, Emma began working minimum wage jobs, often using her telepathy to make her life easier. Though her skill was rapidly increasing and her capabilities broadening, Emma was reckless enough to get caught and got herself involved with several people who would blatantly use her skills for their own gain. Leaning of the wealth Emma's family possessed, she was convinced to fake a kidnapping (and film a video as proof) in order to force her father to pay her ransom. The plan backfired, with Winston blatantly not caring. Help came in the unlikely ally of Adrienne, who leaked the video to the press, forcing their father to pay the money. By then, Emma had decided that she needed the money for herself, dispatching of her "compatriots", taking the ransom and escaping. Her destination: New York City.
The Big Apple was vast and most suitable for her to hide for at least a time. Despite the money she procured, it was far less than she had predicted and nowhere near enough for her to live a comfortable life. Her job hunt took her to the Hellfire Society, a court of the rich and powerful posing as a gentlemen's club. Unaware of its true nature, Emma became an entertainer for a time and primarily used her telepathy to make her clients see what they wanted to see. Displeased with the position she put herself in and still adamant in forging a path for herself, Emma enrolled in Empire State University, majoring in Business Administration and minoring in Teaching. Unable to keep herself out of trouble, Emma became involved with a professor, though their affair was short-lived after the man found out she was a mutant. It was Emma's first true encounter with someone who treated her as subhuman because of who she was, an event she considers the start of her eventual path of fighting for mutants proper. During this time, Emma encountered the then X-Men for the first time, though particularly a returning Charles Xavier. Once again, he attempted to recruit her. She, once again, refused, leading Xavier to removing the memory of their encounter from her mind. A memory she has since restored herself and continues to hold against him.
The Lords Cardinal
Her work at the Hellfire Society eventually lead Emma to cross paths with Sebastian Shaw, one of its leading figures. Immediately deducting that she was a mutant and what her abilities were, Shaw successfully recruited Emma into the group, revealing their true nature and the possibility of her becoming immensely influential. Disillusioned by having to scrape by, Emma was pleased with finally having an opportunity to make something of herself. She quickly rose in the ranks of the Society, proving herself head and shoulders above her "peers" and eventually earning the title of the White Queen. Emma's encounters with the X-Men became more frequent, as Hellfire's activities directly clashed with those of the X-Men.
Their then-ultimate ploy, in the midst of the continuous growth of anti-mutant sentiment, manifested in the form of the Massachusetts Academy. The school was Emma's brain-child, having convinced Shaw that if his typical grunts were ineffective, raising a generation of mutants to be Hellfire's soldiers. It was also Emma's way of fulfilling her dream of teaching, twisted as it was. Their method of gaining students was through persuasion by Emma or by snatching lone mutants they came across, with the promise of a home. Emma's animosity towards the X-Men increased when her attempts to recruit the young Katherine Pryde were interfered by Xavier and his mutants. In retaliation, the Hellfire Society attacked Xavier's shortly after. They were competition and were getting in the way increasingly more often. They managed to capture the X-Men, taking them to Massachusetts Academy. The Society's plans could never come to fruition, though, as the team escaped in large part thanks to Ms. Pryde.
Emma then resolved to form her own superteam. Henceforth known as the Hellions, they were the premier team of her Academy and her answer to the X-Men. After the formation of the Hellions, the school saw sizable interest among the mutants coming from wealthy and high-class families. Backed by the Hellfire Society, students began to flock to the Xavier Institute's competing establishment. The two schools and superteams clashed constantly, but Emma had also made other enemies during that time. Namely Nathaniel Essex, or better known as his dreadfully unsubtle other name: Mr. Sinister. Sinister had taken great interest in the Society's dealings, as well as the plethora of powerful mutants it housed. Emma was a particular favourite. Her potent telepathic abilities, as well as Xavier being then more difficult to reach, made her a prime candidate for his experiments shrouded in mystique.
In a daring siege, he launched a surprise attack on the Massachusetts Academy and succeeded in kidnapping Emma before she could telepathically overwhelm him. It remains unknown how long she was captured for, but when the Hellions finally managed to rescue her, Essex had already gotten what he wanted. In an attempt to harness her vast powers, he had created five clones of Emma, aiming to match and surpass the telepathic power of anyone standing in his way. However, his actions had drawn the ire of Shaw and the other Inner Circle members, managing to overcome Sinister and retrieving Emma and her clones. The girls naturally were drawn to Emma as her daughters and soon became students of her academy. Celeste, Esme, Irma, Phoebe, and Sophie became known as the Stepford Cuckoos and Five-In-One, as their abilities worked best when they were all together. They were essentially a hive mind, with them having the same powers as Emma, along with the potential of growing much more powerful than their mother.
Emma's rise to prominence continued when she learned of the death of her father. With Adrienne unsure whether she actually wanted his inheritance, Emma swooped in and took hold of his company, Frost International, becoming CEO and chairwoman of its board and has remained in those positions since. She essentially secured all of her family's fortune in the blink of an eye, leaving her indecisive older sister furious and vengeful. But for Emma, it seemed as if everything had fallen into place.
Annus Horribilis
Karma was a concept Emma didn't really believe in. She had done what was necessary for her own well-being and had paved her own way, despite her abilities. She was steadfast in her belief that she deserved her success and riches. Which made it all the worse when Emma couldn't see the disaster coming her way.
Beginning with a veritable coup within the Society, tensions long bubbling between Shaw and Jason Wyngarde reached their boiling point. Having planned a takeover in secret for a long while, Shaw was blindsided by Wyngarde's masterful exploitation of the other Society members, stripping Shaw of everything that made him the Black King before. Sebastian was thus swiftly defeated and replaced by Wyngarde and bringing in whoever he saw fit. His new court similarly consisted of powerful and influential mutants, including an External. Shaw was kept as a "honorary member" though that was more of a statement by Jason than anything else. Emma watched everything unfold from the periphery. Having gotten what she wanted from the Society and Shaw, this new iteration had nothing of note to offer her. She also saw Wyngarde as far more dangerous than Shaw and had no interest in getting caught in his crosshairs. Emma withdrew herself from the Society, opting to fully focus on her school, which she had been doing for a while anyway.
Her detachment didn't go unnoticed by the new Black King, who had a cautionary message delivered to the headmistress. Her actions were considered a betrayal and Wyngarde wouldn't react kindly to seeing her again. She took it to heart, becoming more paranoid and cautious, as Wyngarde was one of the few people Emma had good reason to actually fear.
The worst day of Emma Frost's life followed.
The attack was unannounced and seemingly undetected by Emma, only accomplished by Sinister before. Yet it wasn't Essex. No, a force determined to wipe mutants off the face of the Earth. The Purifiers, lead by Reverend William Stryker disintegrated the school doors in seconds with gunfire, a death squad entering in force and began to systematically massacre anyone they saw at the Academy. Mutant after mutant falling to the ground dead, many left unrecognizable. Emma, the Cuckoos and the Hellions held out as best they could, seemingly repelling the invading force. As the soldiers retreated, the group was left with a few moments of silence. With all of them in shock, they had no time to react when a flurry of massive explosions enveloped them all in fire. The carnage seemed to last for hours, when it was really only a few minutes. All Emma could focus on were the screams of those around her. A sound unlike anything she had ever heard. When everything subdued, Emma opened her eyes to see the entire school razed to the ground into nothing. Charred bodies almost everywhere she looked.
Including those of her Hellions, as well as Irma and Phoebe. Emma then saw Celeste, Esme, and Sophie next to them, alive. The three were encased in a substance resembling a diamond. She then noticed the same effect on herself. Unable to form a single coherent thought, Emma simply broke down. Her screams of agony were horrific, echoing those of her students who perished. The three surviving Cuckoos stayed silent, simply making their way towards Emma and embracing her tight, as the mother and daughters took in the aftermath. A mournful song of tears.
The Way Ahead
"Massachusetts Mutant Massacre" dominated the headlines for a good week. The news spread throughout the mutant community quickly. Whatever animosity some may have had against how the Massachusetts Academy and Emma Frost operated, were set aside by most to mourn the tragic loss of life. News vans and reporters surrounded as much of the accessible ground around Xavier's Institute as they could. Someone had tipped them off on Emma's and the other survivors' location. Indeed, Xavier and his X-Men had come to her aid shortly after the disaster, despite vocal disagreements among the team. Charles would hear none of it. Helping other mutants was what they did, even if they were former adversaries. He also felt a responsibility to Emma and decided to give her a place to recover and decide what she wanted to do afterwards.
It was a difficult time, to say the least. She was now among people who viewed her as the enemy and she didn't disagree. Yet it was that disaster which seemingly flipped a switch. To so callously take so many lives at once was something... unforgivable. It became clear to her that it was a targeted assault. Emma began furiously researching Stryker and his Purifiers. She was almost certain that they were given her school's location anonymously by Jason Wyngarde, but she had no proof. Still, she knew the man had it out for her. But until he got his dues, it was Reverend Stryker who would face her wrath. Emma became fixated on the man, though had little luck finding him. He was good at hiding when he wanted, it seemed. She was prepared to be in it for the long haul. So, until she actually managed to find him, Emma had to focus on her own path forward. Her desire for revenge against Stryker remains as one of her driving forces. A touchy subject, to say the least and one of the few things Emma can and will get visibly furious about.
Her loss also began Emma's journey of relative redemption. She had to prove her worth, her trustworthiness, her loyalty. Surprising to some, not so much to others, she excelled in that in her own way. Her sharp nature wasn't lost, as well as her ill patience for bullshit, causing strife between her and her supposed "betters". However, she managed to forge a benevolent friendship with Henry McCoy. Their intellectual discussions were the highlight of Emma's initial period among the X-Men. It was also he who discovered that Emma and the Cuckoos had undergone a Secondary Mutation. Their diamond skin was the result of that. Manifesting at the time of the explosion, Henry deducted that all of them did so at roughly the same time, with Irma and Phoebe's being late by a miniscule amount, but that was enough time for the explosion to hit them.
Emma's time with the X-Men eventually became something all parties got used to. Her path of change seemed genuine and soon enough took up teaching again, with renewed purpose. After a time, she became quietly attached to her new flock of children, telling herself that she will protect them until her last breath. The same went for her daughters. The rest? While never truly vocalizing it, she was... grateful. Nobody could know, though. She'd never hear the end of it otherwise. Her relationship with Xavier and some of the other X-Men did improve enough for trust and respect to take root. That was enough for Xavier to recognize Emma's talent for leadership and her stances rooted in realism, to have her become the Deputy Headmistress. She begrudgingly thanked her peer. Emma knew that she had a long way to go, but began to finally feel like she may have a place to belong again.
Emma Frost's life is a colourful tapestry of personal mistakes and the tragedies the world rained on her. It's also a life full of self-actualization, a journey of true self-discovery and naturally, the formation of the White Queen most have the privilege to interact with today. A woman of multitudes, a psi of the highest order, often three steps ahead of everyone else. She isn't a simple woman, but is someone who most would need in their corner, even if they themselves don't know it. Emma is well aware still that her allegiances are being questioned, but she knows where she stands and what she is fighting for.

The study was quiet. While life buzzed around, Emma could be in silence with her own thoughts, yet still reminded that everyone else was still there. Looking out of the window, a steaming cup of tea in her hands, she observed her students messing around with their powers. She wasn't sure what the game was that they were playing, but it seemed akin to something like tag or frisbee. Her face was of the same expression as it most often was: like someone had annoyed her. True, that was often the most likely case. Though right now, that expression was hiding pride. Those students could be who they wanted to be and most importantly of all, they were safe. And that was in no small part thanks to her. They were her pupils, her responsibility, and they were magnificent.
The silence of the study was cut by the door opening and closing. Without having to look, Frost knew who it was. His ruby-quartz glasses had almost a specific sound to themselves. It was a peculiar feeling. Emma could feel how tense he still was around her. Well, to be fair, Scott Summers was like that around most people. She wondered if he had ever relaxed before. Perhaps he had, but not in any lasting way.
"Emma. We need to talk."
"You lot sure do like to talk. But you have your mind set on a subject, I see. So please, speak your mind, Scott."
She didn't use telepathy. He was just that simple to read. It was refreshing in a world of uncertainty. She quickly also realized how boring it would get. His tone was firm, deliberate, ever so slightly concerned. It felt as if he had been practicing what he was going to say in front of a mirror at least five times. Whatever he had to say had better be worth at least a portion of her time. She had already gone in, and come out of her place of serenity. Though that was a common occurrence at the X-Mansion. It was simply another thing she would have to get used to.
