As was typical for Kosuke's nighttime outings, he had snuck out of the house and made his way towards the city wearing fairly nondescript clothing; a plain blue hoodie over a plain black tee, black joggers, simple running shoes, and a crossbody bag. Overall it would all seem like a teenager just out on a night stroll, but everything he wore and carried had a reason.
All of Ko's clothes were form fitting enough that they made for a decent extra layer under the Seam guise, while the bag carried the pieces of steel that he implemented as projectiles, and lacerating weapons should he ever need them.
Once he was comfortably far enough from his home, he stepped into an alleyway to make his change. Becoming Seam was always an odd feeling, there was a cold anger that he let out deep inside that crawled up his spine and took hold of him, the shadowy black cloth slithered around his limbs and torso before wrapping around his head, turning him into a featureless silhouette of a man several inches taller with the more filled out figure of an adult, finally the hat formed atop his head, and the bright white smile seemed to unzip across his face like the Cheshire cat.
"Mmmm....where shall we go tonight"
His voice was very unlike Ko's, the boy under the mask had a flat voice at most points in time in contrast to the almost maddened and manic voice of Seam, the change was startling to him when he thought about it...he tried not to.
The man raised up a hand, a length of cloth shot up and grabbed onto the ledge of a building, pulling him up and depositing him with a view of his hunting grounds, surveying where he might cause chaos tonight. As of late he had been stealing jewelry for the simple fact that he wanted to. Most of the time he ended up tossing it somewhere after, surely someone might enjoy having it, Seam just wanted to take it. The idea did strike his fancy again, and that was the main deciding factor in his criminal outings for now. It was all practice, using his quirk and strengthening it for when a real challenge came his way, something his controlling mother would never allow the sheltered boy to do.
Seam cackled and made a running jump to the next building, looking out for a store he hadn't hit yet. He'd have to go across town for this one perhaps, to spread a wider net.
"A nice run tonight then, I could use the exercise!"

A flicker of white hair blasted by citizens. Those who were knew the area well enough knew the hero Speed trolled and patrolled different parts of Tokyo and even parts of Musutafu. He'd been hanging on the back of a car to gain momentum, letting himself sling shot to even more momentum. He slid along the concrete, using his binding wraps to yank himself around any obstacles he couldn't totally slide across. He was a bit of an introvert in all honesty, but when he put his suit on, he soared into extroversion! His typical call and response could be heard and recited right back to him as he navigates block by block. He was trying to catch up to his rival. Strive effortlessly shined bright, but he'd work his magic to attain fans. The shared love and respect for his heroics would hopefully propel him into the top 10, he prayed for it. With a smile-
"HEY!"
"HEY!" From a couple coming out of a bar. They waved, and laughed, as Speed leaped and sprinted, dove and slid with cartoonish athleticism.
He'd let his feet and legs dry up, getting closer and closer to a complete stop.
"It's ME!" To some kids sprinting to the train station.
"SPEED! HEY!" They waved and cheered as they continued on their way. It was getting late.
"HEY HEY!" To some guys closing down their store early, then to another passerby.
Things seemed okay! For some reason, there had been a lot more emergency pings in the city than usual. In particular, there had been some thefts. As nighttime cleared the streets of their usual hustle and bustle, there still were some streets who possessed some quality night life. "If I were a theif, I'd hit a store away from all the action. Easy pickings for a villain. So do I go East or We...?" He rubbed his chin, scanning around for anything strange before he took off again. Something, or someone caught Mayoi's eye, up high! East is is! He began his sprint, using his wraps to pull on a lamp post to boost himself into a proper Squeaky Clean slide. "Where is he going?" He'd keep his distance, and his speed minimal. He didn't want to pop up on the unknown person's radar.

Though he wasn't as fast as his unnoticed pursuer, Seam bounded across the rooftops with inhuman died nonetheless. The cloth around his legs aided in springing him forward in long strides through the air, occasionally a whip of cloth shot from an outstretched hand to swing him across a larger gap, or seemingly just because he enjoyed doing it, doing a flip or two with a mad cackle. It wasn't too long before he landed on a rooftop and skidded to a halt, looking across the street at a jewelry store that was closed up for the night, the loot inside glimmering from the display lights.
"So tantalizing, so beautiful. My my how could I resist such shining temptations, the world couldn't expect one to simply ignore this pull! The urge to take, to be free of the binds of law and order"
Who he was talking to but himself was unclear, but he made dramatic motions as he spoke his soliloquy to the night air, pacing back and forth as though on a stage. Seam clapped a few times before grabbing his hat and squishing it down, the shape of the pointed tricorner hat morphing into a baseball cap, the pitch black strips of cloth rippling and following in kind as his outfit morphed into a baseball uniform, complete with a ball of cloth in his palm.
"Seam is on the pitch, can he make a perfect season?!"
The man pulled up into a pitcher's stance and threw the coiled "baseball" across the way, trailing cloth to his palm, and wrapping around a post on the roof of the other building.
"It's a strike! The crowd goes wild!"
Seam gave a hearty tug on the rope connecting him across the street, and began to be reeled in to the jewelry store roof with a whoop. All the while only focused on his goal, not noticing the hero on his tail.
Once on the roof, he looked around for some sort of access inside; a door, a vent, perhaps an access hatch! Seam severed the connection with the tether he had used to leap across, the cloth turning to a fine black powder that blew away in the wind. Time to get to work, a vent large enough for him to find his way in wasn't obviously visible, but there was a door into a stairwell! Perfect.

For some reason the villain slow down just to up his tempo on the next jump. Maybe this was some sort of game."Okay okay!" He hyped himself up, analyzing his surroundings before getting really active. First he'd need some encouragement from the fans. "It's SHOOOOWTIME~!" He called out, and a few cheering voices would respond back loving the unorthodox acrobatics. Majority of his body oozes the cleansing liquid known as Squeeky Clean. "SPEED!" Not only did this give some much-needed encouragement, but it would also let the villain know something was coming, even if they didn't know who he was. He created the ego Speed to put on a show, and he'd do just that. While it entertained people watching him, it was in fact his only form of combat. So he embraced it a long long time ago, all to slowly edge toward the coveted number 1 position. With some extra juice, he slid even faster, pulling and pushing, kicking, bouncing and jumping. It looked like a pinball gathering gs before hitting an angle juuuuust right! He'd begin his ascent with another slingshot maneuver off a lamppost to maintain his velocity. With a binding wrap tethering to a balcony, he'd slide right along the wall with ease, but the swinging motion finally kicked him into the air. The speed and momentum gave him plenty of hangtimes and a beautiful viewpoint of the city. Sadly this wasn't the objective, the villain was. Seemed like he was trying to find a way in from the roof. He looked arouuuu~ THERE! He gathered motion in his downward ascent, and positioned his body perfectly. There was plenty of slick for the impact as he almost hunching so that his impossibly slippery frame would kill the impact of a fall, much like a bar of soap careening across the shower floor when dropped from a high distance. With that last bit of kick, he hardened the Squeeky Clean liquid on his body into a shell as he catapulted towards Seam. Due to the flamboyant entrance, he couldn't sneak the villain if he wanted to. SO, he'd just have to arrive faster than the villain was expecting. His name was Speed after all! The liquid covering his silhouette hardened like rock with this final leap into action.
"SHOW" "TIIIIIIIIIME~~~"
SOLID!"

Seam approached the door, his outfit slithered back into the traditional look he wore, that sort of adventurer garb, and with a snap of his fingers the cloth at the tips became rigid points. These were clearly too thin and fragile to be for fighting (though they could definitely poke out an eye or two) no no these were lock picks! He was about to begin his deft work when suddenly....did he hear someone shouting show time? Yes he definitely heard someone shouting the words show time...and.....solid? Seam turned and saw nothing, until he looked up and caught a glimpse of the white haired man careening towards him. The mad grin on Seam's otherwise featureless face grew impossibly wide, and he started to cackle.
"FINALLY. A HERO TO TEST ME!"
The cloth around his calves coiled up and acted like springs, he pushed off and flew back out of the way of the heroes grand entrance, catching himself on an antenna nearby.
"Ahahahahahahahaha! My what a wonderful entrance good sir! I do adore the theatrics. Your flair, your stature, it's all so GRAND! Has the world seen fit to grant me a rival worthy of my unseen prowess?! Tell me, hero. What is your title, your name? It seems only appropriate that we have a proper exchange before our duel"
He looked as though he had just had several pots of coffee, the cloth covering his form visibly moving faster and almost vibrating with anticipation for what was surely to come.
Seam dramatically stood up atop the antenna and doffed his hat, giving a deep bow to Speed
"You have the pleasure of meeting Seam on this fine evening"

He was happy the villain could react. It meant this was actually going to be a challenge. The door and chunks of wall crumpled under his accelerated might. It also helped him from careening anywhere else. The hardened slick would chip away and peel from his body, revealing a totally unharmed frame. The distinct scent of mint permeated the air as he struck a jojo flex, and posed with aim to intimidate the villain. "Areh? You don't know who I am?" The man in question had a great deal of flair of his own. Seam would give a bow, and Speed would change poses as a proper reply. "Seam huh... looks like there's something going on with your body." He wasn't really one to talk, the same could be said of his. This guy's quirk was something else entirely though.... Whirling dark veils... What were they and what was with this guy's attitude? Internally, Ma was perplexed. He'd never met too many villains that would rather stay and fight over running away. Looks like the news was true, villains really were getting bold. He wondered what this meant for society, but was brought back to reality when he realized Seam's words... First, he'd point to Seam. If he didn't know who Speed was, it also meant he didn't understand the call and response. A cheer from civilians gave magical powers that a villain would never understand. He doubted the evildoer would care but... STILL, teaching the call and response was part of the shtick.
"If you ever are in trouble, HEY! shout me out, HEY~ in a blink, I'm here! If I ever shout you out HEY! I'm rooting for your safety. Smile back with a HI or HEY! If you know who I am, I'll scream IT'S ME, so when you yell out my name, we push fear into villainous hearts together. "
If the villain wanted an introduction, he'd give the full introduction with gusto. "I slip, slide, and glide to accelerate. The number 49 and climbing the ranks... " He'd angle his thumbs back at himself for emphasis. "It's me, SPEED, the guy who's gonna kick your ass." With a big grin, he'd settle into a fighting stance, hoping the villain would do the same.

There was an electricity in the air around Seam, an infectious energy that was abuzz with malice and excitement. It was the energy of a beast being let out of his cage for the first time, but those first steps out were still new to the creature. Of course Kosuke had heard of the hero before him, but there was something fun about the classic hero and villain introductions that he just couldn't pass up, he had to see what sort of man he truly was. A hero through and through as it turned out.
Wonderful.
That bright toothy smile stretched into an impossible crescent across Seam's face, a peal of maddened laughter echoed in the air and he threw his arms up in glee "ahhhh so wonderful!~ You truly are a hero, a creature made of justice and hope! Shall we duel, a fight for the safety of the precious jewels within the sealed cavern below? Hahahahahahaha! My freedom on the line? Yes yes, a hero like you would take me in. I must win or my fun is over!" the cloth seemed to shiver all across his form, and he joined Speed in taking on a fighting stance.
As Seam moved into position, the tips of his fingers sharpened and enlongated into wicked claws several inches long. He lightly bounced on the balls of his feet, that energy still coursing through him like a river. Attack. Attack. Attack! The animal stepped out of his cage into a wide open world he was not prepared for.
Seam crouched slightly before pushing off of his back foot and coming in at high speed to rake his right claw across Speed's midsection.

While he was delighted to find a villain are awe-inspiring as himself, he couldn't help but feel competition with the villain and he coulnd't understand why. For justice Speed would take the stage. That meant this villain were a clown trying to ruin his act. For the main act, a sideshow would have to end early! With an overlay of Squeaky Clean coating his hand and hardening into a shape, Speed would deflect with a claw of his own, Seam's momentum causing the hero to slide back " Don't think this is all about you. Cause it's about ME beating YOU!" Letting the excess fluid drip off of him. An idea came to his mind... Would these veils still be moving the same if he weighs them down with- "Whipped Nozzle!"
With a deep inhale, Speed would spit giant globs of a quick-drying and foaming solution. With a bit of time, this foam would turn into a thick gooey gel! If it hit those clothes, surely he couldn't move around like that.

"This is my stage, Speed! However, I am willing to share with a blazing soul like you. After all, the dashing rogue needs a foil to battle and grow against!"[/b] laughing heartily as his attack was deflected by Speed's versatile quirk. However he wasn't the only one with versatility in his wheelhouse. At the spray of new foam coming his way, Seam held up an arm to block it as best he could. It wasn't possible to get it all, but the majority was all over his arm "A good attempt, but simple foam won't be enough t-"[/b] at the drying of the foam on his cloth, he very quickly understood what the goal really was there.
He growled in frustration, this was not exactly a great state to be in with his fast and agile opponent, he needed to close the gap. Perhaps it was time to switch things up and show this hero what he was made of.
"A truly noble attempt to slow me down, Speed. But you've only incensed me to show you one of my Cowls, I hope you're prepared!"[/b] The cloth covering him seemed to bulge a bit, as though he were a balloon being filled up with water, until it stopped slithering and began to crack, falling away in large chunks that became fine carbon dust as it hit the ground. Seam was simply creating more cloth underneath the current outfit, while making the outer layers become extremely rigid and brittle. It was much safer for hiding his identity this way. When the shell had fully fallen off he was in an entirely new guise. The cloth was far more form fitting, showing the more slender nature of the figure underneath, a hood with long pointed ears was over his head, and he had almost jester style pants on, furthermore the wide smile on his face seemed to have a more jolly nature to it, and was joined by two perfectly round eyes. This was his Cowl of Smiles, an ability that focused on enhancing his speed.
"The Cowl of Smiles, for your viewing pleasure!"[/b]
With extreme speed, several sharp pieces of metal slithered into his hand from where he had kept them in his pocket under the outfit. Seam dashed to the right, circling Speed while flinging the metal at him in a small cloud of dangerous shrapnel, creating a shotgun-like effect that would hopefully start chipping away at Speed's endurance.

~~~This guy's out of his mind~~~ It was nice to see his foam take effect, but the villain wouldn't let himself be caught so easily. It's never that easy, but Speed would crack a smile anyway. A villain had nothing on him! "I can understand wanting to show off your new outfit but I'm still getting you in cuffs." He'd hard the soap, not realizing just was Seam was throwing. Mayoi leaped, drops of blood could be found where he was standing. He'd a few meters away, some of the shrapnel falling to the floor as he pulled himself into a more ready stance. His quirk and his suit's padding were able to eat up most of the impact, but he couldn't stop everything.
This Cowl of Smiles... Mayoi wasn't used to fighting people on his level of speed. He'd have to adjust! "Bastard!" With two steps the hero was already in a subtle slide, though he wouldn't stay still for long. Speed would reach for one of the items on his utility belt. He'd initiated a faster slide with a few more solid steps, zigzagging across the roof.
The rush that Seam was feeling in this moment was only causing his smile to widen and widen, this was just the sort of true challenge that he'd been waiting for! Knocking over jewelry stores in the dead of night was over and done with. He'd found a new high, a level of peril that he'd have to chase further once he dispatched of this hero before him.
Don't get cocky, he has more experience than us
The monotone voice of Kosuke speaking up at the back of his mind, he did his best to shake it off. What did the boy know? It was a distraction he couldn't afford to pay much attention to, the hero was skilled, their contest of speed and agility would be won by the one who kept their focus. Speed was a focused creature.
"Cuffs? Bah! The only cuffs I'll be in are those of my finest suit!!!" another peal of maddened laughter ran through him, moving quickly to try and match the hero in speed and meet him in a clash. In his haste, he missed the fact that Speed had grabbed something from his belt, the arrogant villain was more worried about causing pain and mayhem.
The cloth on his hands continued to slither, a new set of claws forming with shards of shrapnel making up cutting blades at the tips of his fingers. Seam prepared to slash at the hero with lethal intent.
"If you think you can keep up, then by all means be my guest." A slip and a silde in a steep curve to align his crash course with Seam. He'd grabbed one "tape bomb" and one bundle. It looked like he was being sized up by the villain. Speed wouldn't relent only speeding up as he made his way toward Seam who seemed to be gearing up a makeshift weapon through his ever-shifting cloth. In a battle of speed and wit, Mayoi wasn't going to let this villain outshine him. This was HIS element. The soap-slick would gather and secrete as he drove in. The claws sliced true, but he'd slide along the villains arm as he lunged face first to bash his head into Seam's. "NEW MOVE, Showtime Zero Gaurd!" Wincing in the pain of his own attack and the new wound, his fingers snapped open a bundle of bind wraps. He'd crouch to both gather his blurred vision, blood creeping down his forehead, and simultaneously yank the expounding wraps tight around his unpredictable adversary.
Mayoi could take a hit, but get sliced up back to back was pissing him off. If this dragged on too long, he'd fall unconscious from bleeding out... or worse. With a gathering breath, he'd squeeze hard on the tape bomb before launching it in the midst of the already expanding wraps. This would create an impending knot! With Seam's ability to unwind and rewrap himself into different shapes, this was the best solution he could think of. Could the villain unknot foreign cloth mingling with his own quirk made bindings?
The unnerving laughter that Seam let out while he fought the slippery hero was undoubtedly heard down to the streets, he was enjoying himself far too much. Maybe it was what the boy needed, or what the monster that was currently on the surface needed. Why had he started with petty theft? He should have tried to get the attention of one of the vaunted heroes! This rush was more than he had ever imagined possible! Everything on the line, good vs evil!
"Be our guest, be our guest. Tie your napkin 'round your neck!"
Singing to the tune of a song from an old American film, yelling out in pain as the hero slammed their heads together. The blow had a surprising effect, breaking some of the cloth at the point of impact to reveal a bit of the black hair and the forehead underneath, a gash opening up and letting out a decent amount of blood. It was only moments before it stitched back together, hiding him once more as well as helping absorb some of the blood that would be dripping down his face. The saving grace was that Speed had grabbed Seam directly, a big mistake. Seam tightened the cloth around Speed's hand as tightly as he could, trying to keep the man down an arm, as well as in very close quarters, grabbing onto the arm with his and digging his claws in so as to make escape as hard as possible.
"Gotcha!"
While this happened, a rope of cloth imbued with shrapnel went to form a lethal noose around Speed's neck, but the timing of his tape bomb intercepted and protecting from the lacerating cloth that had been seeking to maim or kill the hero. The tape bomb would have had great effect on most creatures, but Seam's quirk did allow him to have some evasion around this. Seam simply let the cloth it had entangled with die, becoming a find carbon powder with scattered bits of sharp metal. The downside was big, however. Seam was running out of energy to produce more cloth, and he was down to the ten shards of metal he was using as claws. He'd have to get creative then.
"I hope they have a tearful funeral for you, I can crash the party and maybe slay even more of your kind HERO"
He bunched his fingers together, forming them into a large black spike that was tipped with the five shards of metal on that hand, stabbing forward to impale Speed through the stomach.
As Seam gripped onto Speed, he'd notice even with extra grip and claws, his hands would give way to the Slip n Slide hero. Grabs and hard striking wouldn't work on someone with a soapy quirk like this. Speed would slide back a few inches putting his guard back up in response to the incoming strike. Noticing this gut punch would be a stab wound, Speed surprisingly would accept the wound so that he could strike from point blank range, and begin a rush of punches. This was different than his attempts to strike before, they were absolutely soaked with foamy soap. "I'LL DIE WHEN I'M DEAD! WHIPPED NOZZLE!" He roared in response. Tenacity was his brightest quality. It was like he took any and everything a villain said to heart and was willing to prove them wrong. Despite his wounds, he was moving sharper than when he started. This was the pure ferocity of adrenaline keeping him awake and his indomitable will. It was subtle, but Seam would have to notice by now...
Speed's whipped nozzle was the fast-drying version of his Squeaky Clean. It was powerful cleansing foam, that became thick and sticky as it dried. He was attempting to completely bond Seam to the messy knot by landing these foamy punches. It was a wonder how Speed was even still conscious... All that blood loss...
