Master
Name: Ritsuka Fujimaru
Age: 17
Gender: Female
History: Ritsuka was a relatively normal girl in Japan, at least until she came into the care of her grandmother who was the caretaker of a local shrine. In her off days from school she would either be nose deep in history books or helping out at the shrine, sometimes selling talismans and charms. Unbeknownst to either one, the designs of the crafted charms was from long ago and to magecraft specifications of mystic codes, one that was useless until Ritsuka began helping her grandmother. It was an intriguing style of a lost practice, an investigate determined that Ritsuka was an anomaly, possibly from a broken family line stemming back to the Meiji Period. She was approached by agents of the Clocktower around the time she was studying for taking junior high entrance exams. She was ultimately given two paths, return with them to the Clocktower to have her fate decided or have her circuits sealed and her memory erased. Ultimately she decided to take the path of intrigue instead of ignorance, her family was "convinced" by the agents that it was a fancy scholarship to a school in England.
At the Clocktower, she was more or less treated as a bottom feeder by mostly everyone and her niche style of magecraft didn't help the situation. Ritsuka maintained a positivity that often ruined the plans to break her spirit, laughing at jokes made at her expense and enjoying the magical pranks played on her. It wasn't until she crossed paths with Catherine Blake that her existence wasn't considered such a joke. Catherine who also took value in physical items seemed a perfect fit, Ritsuka evolved her magecraft from making simple charms to making a mystical codes in the forms of powerful sets of wardrobe. Outside of polishing her magecraft, she often passed the time with Clocktower's rare collection of history books various books which were more colorful and detailed than the those outside.
When Catherine grew increasingly manic in her demands of Ritsuka and how often she disappeared for personal study, Ritsuka knew that even if she had offered to help Catherine, her mentor would be too stubborn to admit it. It was only a short time after this that she had learned about the somewhat legendary holy grail wars out of eavesdropping in one of the libraries, something about another one starting. Although Ritsuka had found mentions of the holy grail in some of her historical reading, she didn't know much and poked around in some of the associated texts out of curiosity. It ended up disappointing her, it was a grand ritual that took place every few decades for a supposedly all powerful wish that usually only the elites engaged in, though apparently there was an incident 10 years ago that prevented the last war from being properly completed.
Ritsuka shook the idea off as some kind of silly ritual just to make everyone else seem less important, something that only a greedy blueblood mage would conjure up. When command spells first appeared on the back of her hand the next morning however, she thought it was a prank by her peers, doing everything within her power short of pouring acid on it. Ritsuka in a moment of clarity to her mania, consulted her mentor Catherine. She was convinced that on first impression, Catherine might have strangled or beaten her around if it really was a joke. Much to both of their shock Ritsuka had been chosen to participate. Now needing a catalyst to summon someone from the throne of heroes, she was lost in thought until Catherine more or less knocked sense into her, asking what she wanted out of a servant. When it came to what she would want out of a partner, most of all she wanted someone strong, ethical and not restrained by traditions or inhibited by trauma.
Catherine provided Ritsuka with a possible location of such catalysts in one of the Clocktower's storehouses as she herself had thought out a plan, though she had to carefully sneak about under the the guise of doing research. She found getting into the more valuable items more difficult, possibly protected by lethal protective measures on inspection.
Personality: Ritsuka is a deep well of positivity and has an indomitable spirit that is not easily broken, much to the dismay of her peers in the clocktower. Despite being bullied for not having a strong name or magic, Ritsuka grins and bears through borderline sadistic pranks and insults meant to break her. She has a great sense of humor, often breaking tense moments with left field responses. As a scholar of magic however, she is nothing but serious and devoted to her work, often catching those of supposedly higher status off-guard with her attention to detail and diligence. Ritsuka has a little bit of a manic side underneath the surface, coming up with unorthodox solutions, laughing in the face of danger or actually getting annoyed when someone tries to question one of her more thought out decisions. She is also a bit of a perv.
Magical preference: Mystic Codes, specifically worn ones. As Ritsuka had picked up skills as seamstress sewing clothes and weaving charms with her grandmother, it took on the next logical evolution once she learned to create more intricate and powerful items. Most of her work takes the form of clothing or accessories, allowing her to use a few spells on demand and granting her some benefit against specific environments or threats.
Visual Appearance:
Risuka is 5'2" with a slender build with some athleticism from playing sports and running. She has shoulder-length red hair tied in a side-ponytail on the left side with a usually yellow hair band and a cowlick, and light orange eyes. Almost every article of clothing she wears has been imbued by some sort of protection or precaution.
