Gender: Male
Age: 17
Date of Birth: June 30
Place of Origin: Hokkaido, Japan

Faction: U.A. Class 2-A
Appearance
Visual Appearance:
Physical Appearance: Ryoken measures in at 180cm and 75kg. A healthy young man with fair skin, cobalt blue eyes, and shoulder-length light hair, he has an oddly intense look in his eyes that gives off a sense of experience and age beyond his years. He often appears hard to approach or talk to, with a gaze that can make one think he's not even paying attention, but in reality, he just has a lot on his mind.
Civilian Clothes: Ryoken often wears clothing he finds comfortable over anything else, usually opting for a simple combination of a t-shirt and pants, with athletic sneakers that provide a good grip on the ground. For colder weather, he also has a silver fur parka.
Hero Outfit: Currently, his hero outfit is not too much different from his usual attire, but he has a black windbreaker jacket that has been equipped with internal panels of light polymer armor plating on the front and back upper torso and outside of the arms to provide additional defense in a pinch. He also has a custom gas mask that prevents him from accidentally breathing in any diamond dust in close proximity that he might be wielding at the time, complete with a tinted visor to reduce strain on his eyesight. A pair of black fingerless gloves helps protect his hands from abrasion. Additionally, Ryoken sometimes coats himself in a diamond suit of armor, which can also double as another hero outfit.
Personality
General Personality: Ryoken is a very serious person, bordering on ruthless. He is incredibly efficient at both creating and executing plans, and as a pragmatist, always makes sure to have reasons for every action he takes so that he doesn't act recklessly or in a harmful manner. Contrary to his demeanor, he gets along with almost any kind of person. He makes a point to not hold any prior prejudice towards individuals, but rather judges each person by their own actions. As far as status goes, he cares not who a person is or where they come from, nor what their motives are, only their actions, values, and ability. You can find him fairly reliably at any of the barbecue vendors in the local area.
Goal: Ryoken wishes to see a fundamental change in the world to where villains either stop involving innocent people in their crimes, or cease existing entirely.
Bad Habits: Ryoken is a deep thinker, often inattentive of his surroundings in mundane situations, and his mind often wanders. As a result, he often forgets when people are nearby, even ones that might have been talking to him just a minute ago. This happens more frequently when more things are going on in his personal life, or when he has other plans but is obligated to do something else beforehand. He has become aware of this habit and now also uses it sarcastically to ignore people on purpose when he feels like it.
Personal Life
Mother: Cecilia Shariac (Alive). Her quirk is also Clear World, the ability to create and manipulate diamonds. She is one of the most influential and powerful people in all of Germany, operating as Radiant Gleam. Her illustrious family name is well known throughout Europe's history.
Father: Issei Shidou (Alive, Coma). His quirk is Azoth Stone, the ability to use alchemy to transform any metal into another metal. A laid-back but ingenious researcher, his innovations were on its way to change the future before his life was abruptly interrupted.
Siblings: None
Extended Family: Gerald Forsythe (Deceased). The family's butler and retired hero, Bardiche. Moved with Cecilia to Japan following her marriage to Issei. Tutored Ryoken at a young age, and was very fond of the boy, often spoiling him when his mother was busy elsewhere. Died peacefully of old age.
History: Ryoken was born and raised into a highly affluent family in Hokkaido, Japan, and as his early life was quite peaceful, it was also a bit sequestered. His mother, of European origin, always wanted the best for her son, as he was an only child, but she took care not to coddle him. Ryoken worked hard as a youth at their private estate in order to further his educational knowledge, and as his quirk developed at a young age, began training to use it from the family's tutor Gerald, an old retired veteran hero by the alias of Bardiche. Ryoken not only developed his skills and awareness at a steady pace under the old man's careful guidance, but also picked up on his principles of chivalry and mutual respect. He came to value what individuals were capable of, rather than what they had done previously. It also nurtured a concept that would later serve as one of his core values, to only judge based on his personal experience. As a result, Ryoken was very friendly with the maids and other service workers around the household, and they came to enjoy the young boy's company. Untainted by the real world, his outlook and insights were quite refreshing and welcome, especially with how mature he was for his age at the time.
This of course would not last forever. On a business trip to Saitama City, the district that Ryoken's father Issei was in was attacked by a villain organization, and the ensuing damage was catastrophic, including an explosion to the side of the building that he was having a meeting in with several other business associates. Fortunately, the building did not collapse, but among the many casualties that day, he was one of them, still alive but rushed to the hospital. He did not wake up from unconsciousness, and was moved to a private medical ward being maintained in his coma. The news devastated the Shidou family, leaving Ryoken speechless and Cecilia devastated. His mother was strong-willed as she had always been, and took up the reins to lead the household in her husband's absence, but both she and her son woke up every day hoping their father would one day do the same. Ryoken took the situation considerably harder, as an impressionable youth it was his first experience with the cruel reality of the world. Even though the villains had already been brought to justice, it was not enough for him. Plenty of others would always be out there, and the same situation he found himself in could happen to anyone else. Issei had simply been unlucky enough to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. It wasn't an intentional attack against him, but simply a name among many. Ryoken could understand if his father was a target, but he had nothing to do with it, and that part was what disgusted him. After doing some research, the boy expressed his desire to enter the premier academy for training heroes, U.A. His mother saw to it that he was admitted for the following year; after all, he certainly had the talent for it. Cecilia was glad that now that talent would be directed somewhere, and she was admittedly curious to see how it would end up. She would still remain an emergency contact for her son, and he would always be permitted to fly back to Hokkaido if he ever wished to, but for now, it was time for Ryoken to begin the next part of his life.
It took a little while, but Ryoken eventually started to open up to some of his classmates as he became more comfortable living at U.A. Ever the studious pupil, he remained diligent in his studies and training, only occasionally going out with his friends on a handful of weekend once in a while. More commonly, Ryoken ventured out by himself on most Sundays in order to visit his father at Saitama Hospital. During the U.A. Sports Festival, his vast experience and powerful quirk helped contribute to claiming victory and first place overall in the event, while also giving him a lot more things to think about and lofty heights to set goals for. Unwavering in his resolve even as heightened villain activity began to cause the degradation of public order, Ryoken refined both his strengths and weaknesses in combat, while continuing to pursue the existential question of what it truly means to be a hero, his primary reason for attending U.A. in the first place. With the ever-reassuring backing of his illustrious mother, Ryoken enters his second year at U.A. with the whole world watching the young prodigy — as hero society begins to lean on its upcoming promising youth, he will no doubt be one of the leading pillars to shape the future.
Quirk
Name: Clear World
Quirk Type: Emitter
Power: Ryoken's quirk allows him to create and telekinetically manipulate diamond by building carbon into the diamond cubic crystal structure. He typically uses atmospheric carbon dioxide as his carbon source, but more abundant sources allow him to wield more diamond at a time. He can control the diamond in a soft dust-like form, or form hardened crystals about the size of a grain of rice or larger.
Supermoves:
Full Armor: Palladion — Ryoken's diamond armor and lance that he can temporarily form as equipment, allowing him to fight more traditionally in close combat. It's also insulated with a thin layer of air between the hard crystal diamond exterior and the cushioned diamond dust interior, providing full resistance to heat by isolating its thermal absorption to the outer layer, making it quite comfortable at all temperatures. Consequently, his lance also being made of diamond means its stabbing and slashing attacks are very effective at piercing other materials. Despite the fine quality and control he has when suited up in the armor, it takes a toll on his concentration so he is not able to maintain it for an extended period of time [about two rounds]. Additionally, it is not possible for him to control other sources of diamond while maintaining the equipment.
Rampart Breaker — A specialized javelin finely crafted from diamond and designed to be thrown, the tip is refined to the point where its very tip is only one cubic structure wide, giving it extreme piercing ability. Ryoken also adds a heavy spin when throwing, the rotational power further increasing its offensive capabilities.
White Dragon's Prison — An advanced technique with the pre-requisite of requiring diamond dust to already be present on the battlefield. It causes all of the diamond dust in an area to form bonds with the entirety of itself, coalescing the dust into a massive block of solid diamond crystal and temporarily trapping anything that was within the dust cloud inside the crystal. There is a noticeable stamina drain that comes from converting more carbon into diamond to fill in the space between the dust, like he normally would when producing a large quantity of diamond crystal, and as a result of the density, it can only be maintained for a brief period of time before it breaks down [about one round]. Additionally, it is not possible for him to control other sources of diamond while maintaining the prison.
Drawbacks: Altering molecular bonds requires a significant amount of energy, so when done on a larger scale, Ryoken's combat effectiveness relies on him being conscious of his power management. He tends to opt for efficient uses of his quirk the majority of the time to enable him to fight for longer periods of time than he normally would otherwise. Additionally, his ability to create diamond doesn't affect the gemstone market, as it is only a temporary alteration to molecular structure, the diamond dissolves into carbon dust after a while, so they can't be sold.
Fighting Style: Ryoken relies on his quirk for the overwhelming majority of his combat involvement. He tends to be more efficient because of his quirk's high maintenance, so rather than crafting large diamond structures all the time, he prefers to wield it as diamond dust that acts as a high-powered shredding shrapnel cloud that he can manipulate, as the total mass of diamond required is significantly lowered, which also lowers his energy usage. He often forms a suit of multi-layered armor and a large spear using diamond for personal protection and physical weapon.
