History:
The tales of Lambert are ones of great tragedy in a two-fold aspect; It is a tale of both a great loss of those around him, and a great loss from within, losing both those he cared for and cherished, and losing himself. Lambert was but a humble lamb living in the once-thriving and idyllic landscapes of what is now known as "The Wasteland", where him and his flock of sheep were able to carve out a life of peace and humble prosperity for themselves. It was a quaint, but manageable life, with no worries or concerns to their minds, spending whole days just grazing and enjoying life to the fullest. A time where Lambert was raised with love and care from both his parents and neighbors. A perfect life...
Then the Calamity struck.
The whole lands were stricken by the Calamity, reducing the once-idyllic lands into a barren, godless land where chaos and dark, occult worship thrived. The parts of the land where Lambert was from was stricken the most harshly, as four mighty entities known as "The Bishops of the Old Order" rose to power, commandeering their dark rule over all in the area they reigned over with occult knowledge, and religious zeal. All those who fell into their folds were converted into mindless acolytes, and those who resisted were executed. And Lambert and his flock were no exception. In fact, they were hunted with even more punitive frenzy than most; for the Bishops had a prophecy that one day, a sacrificial lamb would stand before them and slaughter them all, and they would have none of it. In preemptive paranoia and desperation, they instructed their followers to slaughter every single sheep and lamb in the area, until only Lambert remained, and was caught. Their judgment was swift and harsh, and as the executioner's blade was raised, aimed to sever Lambert's head from his neck, the pain came swiftly, but ended just as fast.
All Lambert saw was darkness... until he saw light. And heard a voice.
"Come closer. Fear not, for though you are already dead, I still have need of you. Those foolish Bishops thought they could keep you from me in death, but instead they sent you straight to me. I will give you LIFE again, but at a PRICE! All I ask is for you to start a Cult in my name. Do we have a deal?"
The great entity, later revealing himself as "The One Who Waits", was a being as archaic and mighty as the other four Bishops, having waited long and borderline hopelessly for a worthy vessel for his might to be sent to him. And now, he had his Lamb. Lambert, seeing no other way out of this, and perhaps out of a desperate desire to remain alive, accepted the eldritch being's deal, and was gifted the Red Crown of The One Who Waits, gifting him with dark occult powers, and gaining life anew. He was thus sent out into the world of Amalgamos again, in search of followers for his new cult...
The Cult of the Lamb.
Drive:
As of current, the Lamb has but one goal in mind, and that is to honor the pact he has made with The One Who Waits, and find followers worthy of joining his cult and falling under his banner, so that he might one day finally be able to stand up against the Bishops. But deep down within, there is something that has been awoken within him. A dark, burning desire for vengeance. And only time will tell if the Lamb will choose to bury it still, or to act upon it...
Visuals
Image:
Visual Appearance:
Lambert is a very small anthropomorphic lamb, standing shy of 4 feet tall, and has dark skin that is covered with thick, fluffy white wool. A pair of small, dull horns grow out of his head, and his eyes are black in color. But when he truly decides to unleash his powers, his skin darkens even further until it is black, and his eyes become blood-red and seem to be 'crying' streams of blood.
Clothing/Armor:
Lambert's most usual clothing is that of a short, red-colored fleece shaped like a bishop's robes, held up on his being by a black choker with a shepherd's bell tied to it.
Personality
It is sort of difficult to discern just what kind of person Lambert is from just a glance, and one really has to get to know and understand him to realize what is going on in his seemingly empty head. But if one gets to know him, one might find that he is... precarious, to say the least. He is good, and he is evil. He is benevolent, and malevolent. Light, yet also dark. These many facets flash and blink in and out of reality quicker than one might realize. One moment he might be praising you for a job well done, and award you with a token of appreciation. And the next, he might be executing someone for a mere insignificant slight within his presence, even if it is but the most minor of gossip.
But, thankfully, most of the time he is sensible and reasonable, capable of just heeding other's words and absorbing them for his own discerning. He is mostly 'passive' for a lack of better term, only truly letting the extremes of his personality out when it is most necessary. He is also very open to befriending people, but with the previously mentioned precariousness of his behavior, one has to wonder if it's a genuine extension of friendship, or a mere deceitful attempt to snag more people under his banner or worship. But at the end of it all, he is genuinely trying to make friends!
Weapons/Items
"Take the Red Crown which I once wore. With it you shall command the loyalty of Followers and strike fear into the hearts of our enemies."
The Red Crown
The Red Crown is a mighty artifact wielded by The One Who Waits, now passed down onto Lambert to gift him the powers that The One Who Waits once wielded. It is, ironically, a black-colored crown with two prongs and a burning red eye in the center of it. It bestows him with a lot of abilities, but the main power it has given him is the ability to live even in death, allowing him to rise from the dead and live eternally, so long as he wields the crown and remains loyal to The One Who Waits. It is capable of transforming and morphing into various tools and weapons as well, all with that iconic red eye still being a centerpiece of whatever form it manifests into.
Abilities/Powers
As stated before, it is thanks to the Red Crown that Lambert possesses a lot of the abilities he currently has. No one knows if they'd be disabled if the Crown is absconded with or not, for not many have dared to try it. Regardless, the main ability that the Crown has bestowed upon him is the gift of immortality, allowing him to live even beyond the grave and defy death, so long as he remains in service of The One Who Waits.
The Crown is also able to transform and manifest into weapons/tools for Lambert to wield, whether it be something as mundane as a hammer for building or a pickaxe for mining stone, or a sword, dagger or axe to fight off the enemies of his cult. And he has shown to already have great proficiency in wielding these weapons, but whether it is the Crown giving him these skills, or something he has learned on his own, is not clear.
The Crown is also allowing Lambert to wield various occult sorcery and curses whenever he is in combat, varying from firing demonic projectiles of ichor or flame alike, to rupturing the earth with eldritch tentacles or frostbiting icicles.
As a final power of the Crown, it allows Lambert to innately empower himself and his cult through absorbing the faith of his followers and storing it as a sort of 'stockpile' within the Crown, and said faith is equally shared between Lambert and The One Who Waits, empowering both of them and also somewhat restoring the latter's power, even whilst in chains.
As for Lambert's own personal abilities, one might argue that he has a bit of innate charisma on his side, which makes sense due to his diminutive and seemingly innocent appearance as nothing but a harmless little lamb. It gives him the natural edge in social situations when it comes to persuading people into joining his cult, and/or diffusing difficult situations that arise around him.
Roleplay Sample
"O great and gracious leader, thank you so much~! We hath been guideless without your vision!"
His devour followers praised him for another job well done on the grounds of his cult, as Lambert sighs in exhaustion, but also relief as he just had finished up the last touches on a monument built in his image, a stone-carved bust surrounded by flowers in the middle of his followers' sleeping area. Wiping the sweat of his brow, the hammer in his hand would swirl and turn back to the Red Crown upon his head, as he'd give a beaming grin to the follower in question.
"Aah, it was no-o-o-o-othing! All in a da-a-a-a-ay's work!"
He'd happily bleat in response, before giving a pat on the follower's shoulder, letting them turn to the statue in reverence of its splendor. The touch would make a few dim, yet visible sprites of pure white seep out from their hide, and transfer into the crown upon Lambert's head, his black eyes briefly gaining a brilliant sheen to them before fading to normal. He'd stand and look over his cult grounds for a while, proud of what he has accomplished so far.
Though, there was a brief flash of disappointment crossing his face. He remembered now... someone had been quite a rowdy follower today. Not being all too grateful to be a part of their cult, a certain follower of their cult had begun to dissent, and spread heresy among his ranks. That could not stand. He had to make sure to deal with him quickly, but how... he'd tap his chin in thought for a bit, before a bright, yet evil idea crossed his mind.
"Oh de-e-e-e-ear follower! Would you please be so-o-o-o-o-o kind as to talk to the others to bring more wo-o-o-o-o-od? I have a new project in mind! One that will assure... some well deserved di-i-i-i-i-iscipline is introduced to our ra-a-a-a-a-a-anks~"
