Sunlight shined through the blinds of her bedroom, Izara needing to sheild her eyes from the offending light. Normally she would be sleeping in... she probably had slept in. She was the go to person for nightly rounds which meant she slept in much later compared to the other heros who stayed in this compound.
A quick look at the clock showed that it was only 11:00, early for her but she couldnt go back to sleep now.
With a sigh, she had gotten up and checked up on the kids who lived here. Her mom would have gotten them fed by now and much of the kids were out playing which meant much activity. She made her rounds to the rooms, making sure they were nice and tidy. Nothing out of place. This was a daily thing for those who were apart of momma bears agency along with the hero work that they still had to do. She wouldnt change it for the world and as mundane as it was, it brought a sense of normalcy to her life that she could appreciate. Lunch was about a few hours out, which meant the cooks were preparing food now too. Her rounds took 45 minutes and she was soon off to the mess hall to inspect the furniture, disposing and replacing those that which were defective. She also needed her daily dose of caffine which the coffee machine in the kitchens were good for.

Izara would find Cahya in the mess hall herself, a bit of an oddity for this hour of the day. Usually Momma Bear was still holed up in her office handling paperwork or out on patrol at this hour, depending on the day.
Today though Cahya was in the mess hall holding a steaming cup of "coffee" if you could call it that. With her work habits Cahya had worked up to increasing levels of intensity with her caffeine drinks. It was at a point now where most regular people would get sick trying to drink one of Cahya's cups of coffee... it had even resulted in a villain capture once when they stole her travel mug and drank from it as an attempt to taunt her, only to be incapacitated by the sheer intensity of the drink for long enough that they were captured before they recovered. There was even a running gag that this liquid was the reason this particular "bear" didn't hibernate.
"Ah, Izara, good to see you" Cahya said with a smile as she saw her daughter enter the hall

Izaras head turned and a smile appeared on her face when she ran into her mother. Finding her during buisness hours is hard, even when you were looking for her and she was always down to be spending more time with the woman who saved and raised her.
She moved to give her mom a quick hug, careful to not spill her coffee being her mother probably being the only one grumpier than she was if she lacked caffine
"Fancy running into you here. I was gonna get me a Momma sized coffee, I need it."
She'd joke. Being around her mom always made her day better... even during the rare times she was being cringe
"I take it your caught up on paper work then? Maybe taking yourself a little break?"
She queried, putting an emphasis on the word break. Everyone knew she needed it and wasnt likely to take one without being urged by another.

"Oh if only, I had to work through the night. This little detour for coffee is my indulgence for the day." Cahya sighed, even she knew she was overworked as of late. Granted she was overworked all the time and never seemed to notice, but recently she'd been so busy even the workaholic she was had to face the reality that she was running herself ragged
"The rehabilitation program is well underway, but since we're spearheading the initiative the onus for most of the administrative work falls to us... and by us I mean me... and the streets aren't going to patrol themselves... and the kids still need me periodically no matter how much I delegate..." Cahya said, then yawned loudly "It's fine though, my quirk handles the body repair that should be happening while I sleep, so long as I take micro-naps wherever I can sneak a few minutes in or have my coffee I'll be fine."
"But enough about me, how have you been doing?" Cahya asked, quickly changing the subject away from her alarmingly unhealthy work/life balance.

Izara had frowned slightly as her mother responded. She had always attempted to make sure she got as much work as she could at night in the attempt to lighten her mothers load.
"I could always help with intake and maintance. You could delegate more to the other heros, were all more than willing to pitch in where needed"
She stated, as she filled up her mug with Coffee, and taking a sip, giving her mother a knowing look
"My quirk gives me insomnia and even I get more rest than you do. Besides, I learned from the best"
She boasted somewhat teasingly giving a sigh as her mother had turned the subject away from her and onto what she was doing.
"I've mostly have been doing nightly patrols and noticed that things have been slower. With the recent hero graduates trying to get a name for themselves, it seems villains have to work harder to reap havok. Ive also been keeping an eye out for vigilante activity, looking to see if we could find more recruits like Bonnie. I also finished the last months inventories for all facilities and went filled out the orders for everything we were short on."
She stated, listing everything she was doing. It was agency related, it was always agency related. This was her life. As hectic and busy as it was, she knew everything she was doing was all for a good cause
"l've been thinking of the lessons that they gave us at UA to prepare us for being heros and how we could incorporate more of that into our curriculum. Best part is, we already have the space and inventory for our kids to use. I was also thinking we might be able look into the specialties our heros have and use that to give generalized education outside of being a hero, we could theoretically insert our rehab graduates into any field they desire or give them funds to pursue an education in whatever field they desire. Esentially, pump out not only heros but more responsible and enthusiastic workers in any field that needs it"

"Oh I know you're more than capable of handling a lot of things" Cahya said with a tired smile "unfortunately this work specifically needs to be done by me personally. Not because you couldn't handle the paperwork or other tasks mind you, but it's a matter of optics."
Cahya took a long swig of her coffee before continuing "We're pulling people with criminal records out of prison cells and reintegrating them into society. There's a LOT of apprehension about this program from many groups of people. These are criminals, redeemable ones in our eyes, but in the eyes of regular people? Add in the media outlets frothing at the mouth for ways to make people angry and scared to further their own agendas... this program is an easy target" she explained "the only reason it has gotten off the ground at all is because top ranked heroes like me or Moonbeam are the ones running it. The public's trust and goodwill towards us offsets the fearmongers efforts to kill the program. That means I need to be front and center for the program's operations. If I hand off too much to other people things will get dicey again.
Cahya let out a long sigh and rubbed her temples "It's a massive headache, having to fight so hard just to keep the program alive, but given time people will settle down about it. Once we have more fully rehabilitated cases to prove the efficacy and all that. Until then, my plate will be full" she said, but then forced a smile "but that's fine, I mean even if I did have free time, what would I even do with it? Can you really imagine me just sitting down and watching TV or something? No I'd probably spend the time training or just find other work to do anyway."
Cahya was at least self aware of the fact she didn't know how to relax, but that didn't make her statements less concerning on the face of it. Most people would definitely burn out with her mentality. Yet here she was still going strong after all this time.

"getting into the teens at my age requires some finnese and recognition as well"
She stated back, giving her mother a dead serious look but she would recognize it as her attempt at joking sarcasm. She would sigh, though and relent, grabbing her mothers hands in hers
"I understand what you mean, but the general public wont know if or when you delegate. At the very least, I could narrow it down to the top choices. Do the heavy lifting while you choose from the cream of the crop, so to speak."
She offered as a final solution. Hopefully her mother would give some Leeway
"even you could die from over exertion and you cant run the program from the grave"
She half joked before relenting the topic entirely, considering what her mother said about relaxing
"we could go camping, or look into some extreme sports to replace all that adrenaline that youre no longer chasing. Those activties are fun and, in their own way, relaxing"
She offered. She knew well, how much of a workaholic her mother was and it was nice to hear that she recognized that herself. Still, she was worried and it was apparent. She was good at hiding her emotions from everyone else but her mother always knew exactly what she was feeling.

"I don't mean to disparage your achievements, I'm endlessly proud of how far you've come." Cahya conceded, then sighed "I suppose I could delegate a bit more, maybe I'll have you supervise Bonnie, go on patrols with her or something. She's one of shining examples for the program right now. A criminal turned hero... even if her crime WAS just being a vigilante and some minor property damage from that, having her working alongside the number nineteen in the field should do some good and also take some of my workload off.
It wasn't a big concession... but getting Cahya to concede anything at all when it came to her workaholism was a rarity. She really must be extra tired if she was voluntarily passing work onto others.
"sports might be nice, it would be something I could do without being away from the kids for too long." Cahya said when Izara suggested leisure activities, she could tell Izara was concerned and decided to humor her a bit "camping is a no-go though. I'd give myself a stroke worrying about things falling apart here if I went out into the wilderness for a weekend. Either that or I'd be glued to my phone still working.
In truth Cahya wasn't sure even sports was a viable activity. There was still so much to do, so many kids who needed help, she couldn't very well slack off and play games when there were kids crying alone and uncared for in the country still.

A smile had graced Izaras lips. Going out on patrol wasnt her favoritest thing in the world but a win, big or small was still a win
"thats a start. Bonnie had made strides since first being here. Her being out more, and being successful will bring big boons to the program. Hopefully soon, there will be nearly no pushback all together."
She stated, squeezing her mothers hands. She was glad that she was being somewhat amicable to her suggestions.
Her smile grew bigger as she was humored on ways she could relax. She knew her mother well enough to know that she couldnt commit to it seriously. Still, she would continue
"we could organize our own team, face off other agency teams. I bet people would eat that up! Even better, the profits from the games can add to charity funds"
She mused further. It would, possibly, work similar to a work festival in her mind. It was a fun thought for sure though she knew she likely wouldnt be able to dwell on it for too long.

"A charity sports event huh? A couple teams of various pros and sidekicks from a few agencies... that's... actually a really good idea" Cahya said, she'd mostly just been humoring her daughter's pitches to get her to relax... but this one struck a chord. It would be a somewhat relaxing activity, but it would still be contributing to the cause. It could even become a regular thing if they got enough agencies involved and made some sort of league. The gears were turning in her head... what sport should they do? Something with broad appeal... baseball? Japan did love its baseball after all, and there was enough room in there for the pros to show off their quirks without things getting too unbalanced.
"I like it, I think we should do it" Cahya said with a bright smile "that's my daughter for ya, coming up with all the best ideas"

Izara studied her mother intently, smiling as she sensed the slight shift of tone that indicated that this event was something she might be invested in. She kept her hopes high and she wasn't going to go down without a fight though fortunately there wasn't much convincing needed.
A big smile graced her lips as she pulled her mom into an embrace
"I'm glad you like the idea. I was thinking of a marathon of sorts, or even a tournament. Thinking... MMA, given the amount of heros with some kind of martial background. We could get some Reknown Dojos to take part"
Izara mused, she was excited and, given her mother's permission she was now making a list of what she needed to do to make the happen but then, she dropped a serious face and looked at her mother
"I'm gonna organize the event, don't you even try to participate. I got it all under control, I learned from the best after all"
She noted, looking like she wasn't going to budge a single bit

Cahya frowned at her daughter's assertion that she couldn't participate, her expression shifting to a rather rare one for her, pouting. "You're going to host an MMA tournament of all things and not let me enter? You know how much I love my martial arts, I'm known for that too, it'll be weird to host such an event and not have the top 10 hero known for martial arts be a participant"
Cahya figured Izara wouldn't budge for the typical arguments, so she tried a logical one to make her budge and let her into the tournament, it was still her taking a break... sort of... she did genuinely enjoy martial arts after all. Sure it wasn't technically relaxing to be fighting in a ring but...

Izara gave her mother a stern, knowing look before breaking and letting out a breathy laugh
"Mom"
She stated with a raised eyebrow and a shake of her head before sighing. She knew there was no stopping her and she was entitled to a part in all this and she wouldn't stop unless she compromised
"you can co-host and be a commentator"
She relented chuckling before hardening her demeanor
"But I am doing the heavy duty work of putting it all together. No input!
She exclaimed, crossing her arms.

Cahya sighed, she knew her daughter wasn't going to budge, the girl was as stubborn as her mother after all. And while Cahya wanted to argue more she couldn't deny that she really did need a more relaxing day now and then. So long as she was at least present and contributing her workaholism could be satiated.
"Fine fine, you win this time, just let me know if you need me to throw my weight around to get anything done." she said
