"I am not a morning person."
General Information
Name:
Yoru Tsubasa
Identity:
Night-Wing
Gender:
Male
Age:
15
Date of Birth:
October 31
Place of Origin:
Nara, Japan
Occupation:
Student
Faction:
U.A High, 1-A
Appearance
Visual Appearance:
Physical Appearance:
Yoru's physical appearance is that of a bat. He has a slender build and stands at about 5'4 in height, his body covered in dark gray fur with a somewhat blacker patch of fur around his collar. He's got long, pointed ears which are able to swivel around, and his eyes are black and seemingly 'glazed over', indicating his semi-blindness as a bat. His wings are attached to the backsides of his arms, and are able to be folded out on demand. His toes and fingers are all tipped with small, but sharp claws.
Civilian Clothes:
Yoru usually just picks whatever he can find to wear, but tends to have a preference for more baggy and casual clothes, such as sleeveless hoodies and baggy pants with lots of pockets.
Hero Outfit:
His hero outfit has him don a slightly more advanced get-up, his hoodie and pants being swapped out for a combat vest and shorts which are both tightly fitted to himself. He has a pair of large goggles to help him with his poor eye-sight, allowing him to see much clearer while in the heat of the moment. He also has a pair of small, waist-mounted loudspeakers that are connected to a head-set microphone that can enhance his screeches.
Personality
Bad Habits:
Drowsiness
Unless he's had his coffee in the morning, you can definitely expect Yoru to be extra drowsy and sleepy whenever he is around, as he is by no means a morning person. He tends to be sluggish and tired during the mornings, but becomes more active the later it gets.
Inattentive
Sort of connected to his drowsiness, Yoru is somewhat inattentive in social situations and tends to 'zone out' at particular details in a conversation, and might have to ask people to repeat themselves.
Goal:
To do well with his grades and to be a hero of the night, like his father before him.
General Personality:
Yoru, for the most part, is a very calm and laid-back person when meeting him, as he'll most likely be found snoozing off for a bit, or just casually hanging about and reading a book/listening to music. He seems relaxed in almost any situation, even in the midst of something heated, and it has been both a blessing and a detriment to him at times, such as people thinking that he 'lacks effort' in anything he does. This is not true, as Yoru does care for whatever he does, but he chooses to not stress himself over it. The few moments he does get energetic and excited is either when it's evening or night-time, or when he's talking about a subject he's really into, which in his case happens to be about Pro-Heroes, especially his own father.
Personal Life
Mother:
Harumi Kozato (Alive) (Quirkless)
Father:
Shin'en Tsubasa (Alive) (Pro-Hero: Night-Shadow) (Quirk: Vampire Bat)
Siblings:
N/A
Extended family:
N/A
History:
Yoru's childhood was quite uneventful, other than the fact that he was often quite poked fun at and/or bullied for the fact that he was born as a humanoid bat, but other than that there was not really too much that stood out from his life. Growing up with a Pro-Hero as a father, though, happened to gain him a little bit of notoriety as he got up into his teens, as people suddenly seemed to admire him and his family, but he almost certainly seemed to know it was just because of his dad. So, taking the praise that he got with a grain of salt, Yoru would just keep on focusing on living his own life.
However, life as of lately has begun to become real hectic and, needless to say, chaotic. Ever since the death of Mindstorm, his dad has had to pull off all the breaks and focus harder than ever on his Pro-Hero duties with criminality skyrocketing all across Japan, and especially at night-time, where his dad would be the most active. He's been responsible for many Villain captures and imprisonments as of late, but with some harsh urging from his wife, he had to step down a bit and take it easy. That is when Yoru decided, he'd do anything to aid his dad, so he made a resolution to work harder than he's had before, and he would apply for a spot in the newest batch of first-year students of U.A High.
His time in the U.A High Examination trial was not a smooth one. Even if he had a Mutation-type Quirk, he was not as freakishly strong as other Mutation-types, but he did have mobility, agility and a sonic screech that aided him a lot in the exam finals. He was able to maneuver and fly around the simulation city with ease, taking out a lot of 'villain' robots with his kicks and sonic attacks, and even helping out fellow students wherever possible. When an enormous, colossal robot revealed itself, however, he was quick to run away from it, realizing he was no match for it. But again, he showed his usefulness by sweeping by and plucking up students who had fallen behind or gotten surprised by the giant robot's appearing. When the finals were over, he was delighted to hear that not only had he passed the exam, but he was going to be part of U.A High, and part of its new generation of Class 1-A!
Quirk
Name:
Vampire Bat
Quirk Type:
Mutant
Power:
The user gains all the powers of a bat in humanoid form. This includes the ability of flight and slightly improved physical attributes, but the greatest asset to the Quirk is the fact that, to compensate for the user's lessened eye-sight, they are able to utilize the power of echo-location by sending out subtle, supersonic screeches that'll bounce off any surface and relay their position back to the user. With the right tweaks, and some equipment, the user is able to weaponize these supersonic noises into an even higher, audible pitch of noise and turn them into a type of sonic weaponry.
Supermoves:
N/A
Drawbacks:
The drawbacks of the Quirk is that, like the animal it's based off of, the user has greatly decreased eye-sight and depth perception, which can make it hard for them to navigate around areas unless they utilize their sonic screeches for echo-location, or wear sight-improving equipment. Another interesting side-effect of the quirk is that, whilst it may be based on a 'vampire' bat, the user does not have an unnatural craving for actual blood, but they can get quite the craving for blood oranges.
Fighting Style:
Yoru has yet to attempt any actual combat, but with his current experiences he feels comfortable as a mid-to-close range fighter, utilizing his adequate hand-to-hand skills along with his innate claws on his fingers and toes to make for a good up-close scrapper, and with his hero outfit having loudspeakers to enhance his sonic screeches, he can unleash deafening, and even forceful sound shockwaves from a decent range.
