Appearance
Physical Appearance
Eberly is a mountain of a man, standing at 7'3'' and 290 lbs. He is built like a tank with layers of muscle, broad shoulders, and massive hands. He would strike quite an imposing visage, were it not for the disarming smile and soft gaze he always presents to the world. His vibrant orange hair and beard immediately out him as being foreign to Japan, and his round eyes twinkle with a vibrant green. Eberly exudes confidence, standing proud as he walks, talks, and works to help others.
Civilian Clothes
Outside of work, Eberly tends to dress in pretty unassuming attire, predominantly plaid polo shirts and jeans. He does have a fancy suit for when he does need to go to more formal situations though.
Hero Outfit
On the job Eberly dons heavily armoured full-body riot gear alongside a massive ballistic shield. He still stands out from regular riot police in Japan due to his gear being from his old job as a TIGRIS officer in Switzerland. Alongside his heavy gear Eberly also has multiple tools at his disposal. Firstly he has a wrist-mounted 'gun' that fires a weighted net to apprehend people; he also has a high-powered taser for a similar purpose; he has a handful of nonlethal stinger grenades for crowd control; he has a first aid kid; he has a handheld radio that he uses for communication on the move; and his headgear includes a gas mask and toggleable night vision.
Personality
Bad Habits
Eberly is first and foremost a kind person. While good in most instances, he can be a little TOO kind for his own good. For example he tends to forgive transgressions against him he really ought not to, and will always try to see the good in people even if they are an irredeemable villain (Leading to him often being more merciful to them, putting himself at a disadvantage)
Eberly is also far too trusting of others. There are many cases where people can take advantage of this— one of which being faking surrender, which would incite him to lower his guard and earn an opportunity to escape. His gullibility can be endearing when nothing is on the line, but it is still a consistent problem.
Eberly is not much of a thinker, and tends to act impulsively. Not necessarily in a directly reckless fashion, but moreso in a 'can be easily distracted' sense. If given a choice between helping a civilian or catching a baddie, he will always without fail go for the civilian even if they do not actually need his help. He can also be easily fooled into a wild goose chase by cunning individuals.
Goal
Eberly more than anything wants to make the world safe for others. He dreams of a world where nobody has to live in fear of being beset by villains and criminals, and he will do his part to make that dream a reality, even if he can only do so much. Helping even one person may not change the world, but it did change THEIR world. That's the thing Eberly lives for.
General Personality
Eberly is the epitome of a gentle giant. He is endlessly kind and patient, though he isn't the brightest in terms of intellect. He is aware he isn't the smartest man around, and does try his best to learn from his mistakes. He is always willing to lend a helping hand, and has a particular fondness for children. He has been told many times that he would make a great father, and while he finds the idea appealing he has never really found 'the one'. Not to mention it would also be harder to do his job if he has to watch over a kid. He is content playing the role model and helping other families in place of starting one himself.
In spite of what first impressions may provide though, Eberly takes his work very seriously and when he is on the job he is as professional as one would expect from an experienced TIGRIS officer. Though a gentle man, invoking his wrath may very well be the last mistake you ever make. In freedom that is— He always avoids lethal blows unless he absolutely must. He HAS killed before in his previous work (Albeit rarely), but he never got used to it.
Personal Life
Mother
Cajsa Maurer
Quirk: Fabrication (Emitter)
Bothild can fabricate materials from seemingly thin air. Materials can include wood, stone, linen, and multiple others. Creating these materials costs Bothild's blood, though the ratio is not 1:1 so she can usually create decent amounts of materials without endangering her health. She most often uses this skill to knit clothing, but she has been known to make other objects such as a plastic lawn chair to sit in or, as a party trick, oddly shaped balloons.
Father
Orell Maurer
Quirk: Levitation (Emitter)
Exactly what it says on the tin, Orell can lift objects remotely with his mind and move them around. He can even throw things at deadly speeds when he exerts himself.
Siblings
Eberly doesn't have any siblings, though not for a lack of his parents trying. Eberly himself only came about after half a dozen miscarriages, so the Maurers contented themselves with even just a single kid.
Extended Family
Eberly has many members of his extended family, but none of them are individuals of especially important note.
History
Eberly was born in Geneva, Switzerland and ended up being something of a 'miracle child'. His parents had attempted to have a child multiple times but all prior pregnancies had led to miscarriages. Doctors prognosticated that the couple may never be able to have children without adopting, but lo and behold, Eberly came to be despite all odds. His parents were overjoyed, said joy persisted long past the time of his birth and throughout his childhood. His parents doted on him but were keen enough to not make him spoiled. Eberly was raised properly and made many friends in school. His average at best grades were a consistent issue, but it was evident that Eberly simply wasn't the brightest child. He got by however and lived a pretty normal childhood.
As he aged Eberly held doctors and especially medics in very high regard and for a long time dreamt of being one. Due to his poor grades however the odds of that were unlikely, so instead shortly after he turned 15 he started to do volunteer work at the Red Cross. He would do his best to balance his school life and volunteer work and he learned much from his experience. He retains a lot of first aid knowledge from those days, but throughout that time he also found a new group of people to be fond of— The police. He saw how they would help apprehend criminals and protect others from harm, and he aspired to do that as well. After high school he ventured into the force and started doing what he can to help others and make the world a safer place. His physical capabilities and high ambitions earned him respect and an eventual invitation to join a special police squad known as TIGRIS. He gladly accepted hoping he'd be able to start REALLY making a difference, and shortly thereafter he underwent extensive training. By the time he was in action he was easily the most physically impressive member of the squad.
TIGRIS was unique from the Hero Association in Switzerland particularly for their distinct application of lethal force in the form of automatic firearms. They were sent in to support Heroes at times, but other times they were used when a scalpel was needed rather than a hammer, proverbially speaking. The first time Eberly killed a man he was awestruck in fear and revulsion. This wasn't the kind of protecting he wanted to do. It felt wrong on a fundamental level deep in his soul. In spite of that though he continued to work for TIGRIS for several years.
At age 28 he finally decided that he had to quit. Instead he set his sights on the Hero Association and expressed his intent. His squadmates were extremely supportive and because of Eberly's experience he had a quite easy time getting his license. As a show of good faith and trust he was even allowed to keep a lot of his old TIGRIS gear for use in his continued work as a Hero. With him finally being allowed to use his quirk in applications of his work his heavy armour became many times more potent with his ability to repair it constantly. Many times as a hero he was used as the cavalry, busting onto the scene with great strength and a variety of area denial tricks to keep villains at bay. He was extremely effective at warding off areas and protecting things. His history with both the police force and the Red Cross also meant he often communicated with both and worked alongside them to provide aid for people far beyond just taking down the baddies. Eberly quickly made a name for himself among multiple circles as a unifying individual of sorts, coordinating services on the front lines to ensure people get the help they need.
Eberly would eventually earn his common alias "The Mason" on a fateful day at age 30. A far higher magnitude than normal earthquake caused a large but old office building to collapse with multiple people in it. Emergency services were working at clearing the rubble when Eberly arrived on the scene. At the time he wasn't actually on duty, but being a Hero through and through he quickly assessed the situation. The rubble was immense and the odds of the buried people surviving were quickly becoming slimmer and slimmer. Eberly despite his better judgement decided to put a desperate plan in place and perform his greatest feat as a hero to date. He activated his Reconstruction quirk... On the office building itself. Quickly the tons of rubble started lifting off the ground, freeing many people trapped underneath as the rubble began to slowly reassemble itself. Eberly was immediately struck with a massive migraine, but he couldn't afford to deactive his quirk. If he did things would get infinitely worse as the rubble would then drop on the emergency workers rescuing the civilians. He had to keep going, even as he felt himself strain harder and harder. He grew dizzy, weary, his nose began to bleed. Finally his body could take no more and he collapsed, passing out from the strain.
He would come to in a hospital bed, and would be informed that he had been in a coma for a little under a week. He would also learn about what happened; more specifically, he would be surprised to learn that he in fact did complete the reconstruction. The office building is standing again, although it is closed for renovations after its vulnerability to earthquakes became apparent. A majority of the workers survived as a result of his heroism, which brought Eberly great joy. He would stay in the hospital for another day before finally getting to go home. He would still feel weak for around a week, but after that he would return to his duties.
This feat of his inspired Eberly. If he could rescue that many people with his power as is, what could he do if he really put himself through the wringer to improve? That's when the idea of going to Japan— where the most renowned heroes and most reviled villains are known to exist— came to him. Perhaps by moving to Japan he could transcend his current limitations and truly come onto his own. It was totally unnecessary, he was already rapidly becoming one of Switzerland's most popular heroes, but he felt the deep need to broaden his horizons. Of course one major roadblock was learning Japanese. It had been a long time since he genuinely studied for things and he was quite bad at it. Learning Japanese was a struggle that he worked at for four years. Though lacking in talent he made up for it in sheer work ethic, brute forcing himself into literacy. Once he reached a degree of understanding he deemed acceptable, he migrated to Japan to begin the new chapter in his journey as a Hero.

Power
Eberly is able to repair recently damaged nonliving objects around him. (Note: 'Nonliving' in this case DOES include biological objects that are dead, such as leather clothing and wood). The object's materials will hover and move on their own, eventually putting themselves into the right place before binding together again.
Supermoves
Hemofacturing — If some of a damaged object's parts are completely missing or destroyed, Eberly can use his blood to manufacture the missing materials. Doing so is extremely strenuous however and can only safely be used on small objects.
Drawbacks
Eberly's quirk can only repair objects that were damaged within the last two hours.
Eberly must be within 20 yards of where the object initially broke, even if all of its pieces were scattered away from that spot.
Eberly's quirk can only repair an object using the materials it was originally made of. So for example he can't use fresh wood to repair a broken wooden wall.
(ALL the materials must be within 50 yards of where the object initially broke. If any pieces scattered further than 50 yards, Eberly cannot repair the object without employing his Hemofacturing ability or physically moving the pieces closer.)
(If the materials are fundamentally changed (I.E. being burned or chemically melted down), Eberly cannot repair the object without employing his Hemofacturing ability.)
Parts must have a sufficiently strong bond with each other for them to be considered 'one object' for the purpose of Eberly's quirk. For example, coupling two train cars together would not make them count as a single object, and thusly Eberly would not be able to recouple them if they disconnected. (Truthfully, this will have to be decided on a per-object basis because the line where multiple parts become 'one object' is impossible to universally define)
There is an upper limit to a broken object's complexity before Eberly is unable to repair it (I.E. high tech objects like computers).
Repairing objects puts physical strain on Eberly just like using a muscle. Overusing the quirk can quite easily lead to nose bleeds, migraines, and eventually a loss of consciousness. In addition to size, the complexity of an object also amplifies the strain using this quirk puts on Eberly. Repairing a smashed engine would take much more out of Eberly than fixing a broken wall for example, even if the wall is bigger. The further away the object's materials are, the more strain it puts on him as well since he has to move all the parts to the right spot.
Fighting Style
Eberly is what one can broadly describe as a juggernaut. Heavily armoured, incredibly strong, but not very mobile. His various nonlethal apprehension options do allow him to take down opponents that would otherwise outmaneuver him however. Generally speaking Eberly works far better in tandem with other heroes, where he can serve a supportive role as area denial, rather than taking down baddies on his lonesome (Though he is perfectly capable of doing so). His armour and his shield paired with his quirk make him ridiculously resilient, to the extent that unless you have high firepower or underhanded tricks on your side it is far more efficient to avoid Eberly than to take him on directly.
