Appearance
Visual Appearance:
Physical Appearance: Ouju stands are 5'3 tall, a slender but clearly athletic girl. She had blue eyes that have been compared to sapphires on multiple occasions. Her long light blue hair, typically tied back into a pony tail, with two chin length tails and level straight cut fringe. She has more more normal Japanese skin tone, though it edges towards the pale tones. For those not looking for it, she seems to have spotless skin, but the truth is she has alot of fine scars, specially around her fingers and arms. She has a more notable large scar on her right side which she pick up in her second year.
Civilian Clothes: Common components in most of Ouju's outfits is a samurai style hair piece to tie her hair up into a pony tail, and the circlets for her front tails of blue and yellow, tied on with red string in a stylised the loop knot.
In her home town, she tended to wear Kimonos. Her typical one was her training outfit, which was a white top over a light blue under layer, with grey pleated legging, going with this she'd wear white socks and sandles. Around her waist she'd have an additional rope with the same triple loop knot. Typically the rope would be used to hold her Katana sheaf. She will typically have the sleeves tied back with ribbons.
When not in her training outfit and one she can still be seen in often is more formal style every day kimono. Much like her training outfit, it comes in three primary parts. A white short sleeved underlayer, a long sleeves over layer of blue material with flower and cloud pattern. This will be accompanied by a kneel length skirt or a long heavier skirt for colder weather, both of which are a dark blue material with a wave patterning.
Finally her modern outfit, one she has taken to weaking since her induction in UA, is a black hoody, with a red cat on the chest. Under this she tends to favour t-shirts of a variety of colours and styles. A short white pleated skirt, and block stockings. For her feet she favours white trainers.
Hero Outfit: (What you wear when working. Don't forget to list any tech, armour or supporting gear that your costume has as part of it. Please note students don't start with support gear unless it is vital to them handling their quirks.) Wind Chime's hero outfit is comprised of your what could be say is more typical hero style top. This long sleeved top features on it black material is a golden flower in pointed double band pentagon. To accent this piece, a ribbon in her chosen three loop knot hands round left shoulder. Lower down she has matching shorts, covered by a skirt of similar design, accented by a pattern of two gold lines looping round it in a wave pattern. Over all of this she wears a blue jacket, accented with yellow gold and features a white hood. To help control it from getting in the way of her fighting. There is several belts that have been adjusted to her needs. On her hands she wears black gloves with a red trim around its wrist and exposed back. they are fingerless except for the middle fingers.
On her legs she wears socks of different lengths. The left being up to her thigh and held in place by a pouch and her right sock is only to just under her knee. Her feet a protected by a pair of white and yellow shoes. On a few choice locations of her outfit are red ribbons specifically chosen cause they looks cool when combined with her dynamic fighting style. All of them will snap off cleanly if snagged or grabbed.
The equipment that goes with this outfit start with the most important piece, a special tool made just for her, the tuning sword. Stylised to imitate the looks a drying pole katana. This special sword doesn't posses a sharp edge like a normal sword would, instead it has special sections where the blade would be, each being a tuned note. So when stuck, it produces a tone that her quirk can utilise. To go along with the sword she had what seems to be an ordinary fan. However within its blades are more tuned metal strips. Though unlike the sword they are tuned to a specific order, mean with the different opening widths she can quickly strike off pre-set tone combos for fast quirk use. Among her other items include a set of tuning fork's which have over the school years been improved and reinforced so they can also be thrown. They were among her earliest tools. Finally the most curios part of the equipment is what seems to be a back pack, which as a student she did use a school bag. Also carries a noise cancelling device. Though it can't completely wipe out noises. By removing other sounds it helps prevent clashing tones minimises the blow back she's suffers from her own quirk. Of coarse there is one more item that much not be forgotten, ear plugs, after all Ouju doesn't want to go deaf from her own quirk.
Personality
Bad Habits: Despite her apparent confidence and focus, Ouju is actually a surprisingly whimsical person. While its not to the level of impulsive, she can start something just cause and stop doing very much the same reason but when she does focus she can over focus. As in being so focused onto something that she forgets about other things in general.
Ouju is really bad (or perhaps really good) at explaining things in a clear and concise way. Specially when it comes to quirk and and fighting. She is expressive but rather lacking in the actual details. Words like 'ka-pow' and 'shoom' are a few example of how she will explain it.
Goal: Just cause
General Personality: Ouju is a fun loving girl, even in the serious world of Hero work, she finds it easy to smile. At least when she's isn't being serious. Ouju is knowing for having a traditional style when speaking, a legacy from where she grew up. In anything she had many traditional habits, everything from how she eats to preparing her bed. Hell her writing is in a very neat but old style script. Due to her up bringing, Ouju is easily confused by tech but she still she will perceiver, normally till someone comes to help her. Ouju is a spritely person, up for fun, and likes making other people laugh and smile. While she is barely even tech literate, she is a smart person. Thanks to have to learn without the help of tech, she had developed an affinity for mental maths cause of use of the abacus.
Many think she would be good at music given her quirk but she absolutely no talent for it. What she can play has had to be learned through lots of hard work to just remember the basic notes and chores that would work with her quirk. Which is mor than a good reason why she doesn't use instruments for hero work. Otherwise Ouju is surprisingly instinctual with how she does things, specially fighting. If ever put to the test she can quickly adapt and utilise and unfamiliar tool in a way those experienced with would surprised to see, not necessarily using said tool to its best but it would be surprising.
Personal Life
Mother: Mitsuri Kawashiro, alive, Amplify (can increase the volume of sounds), traditional musician
Father: Kyoujurou Kawashiro, alive, no quirk, master sword smith
Siblings: 1 older brother Otsu Kawashiro, 1 younger sister Nezuko Kawashiro
Extended family: While its not actually known to the family at large. Ouju's great grand father was one of the first generation heroes. He was known as the true silver slash and best known for his sword skills.
Uncle Ichigo Kawashiro, ultra sonic hearing, Sword master of the 'Kakashiro' school
History: Ouju, born in Kyoto, to be the second child of three. Ouju was raised in the traditional atmosphere of the ancient former capital of Japan. By traditional, this is very literal as among the first items of tech that she ever got to use included an old TV and a house phone. Despite being in the modern nation of Japan, both her parents were traditionalists. Both actively members of the community that kept traditional arts alive. This meant that she and her siblings ended up having to go along with their efforts. Naturally this also meant that she and her siblings learned many traditional arts and skills. Though some of these would take years to develop fully, such as Otsu being her fathers apprentice and learning how to forge blades using their traditional methods.
As her father was sword smith and her brother adopting his legacy. As per tradition, it fell to Ouju to pick up the sword style that had been passed down in her family. When she was old enough, her fun uncle who ran sword school that have special tourist coarse, cause they made so much money, started to give her lessons. It would take a few years for her to notice that the lessons she was getting was different to the older students. As it turned out she wasn't learning the generic style like everyone else. No instead she was getting to learn the style that had been passed down the generations along side the traditional sword making techniques. These lessons were always private, in the family dojo, were as her other lessons happened in the public dojo. Of coarse she learned the general stuff but the special lessons taught her things that, just seemed to come to her more easily. At some point she asked him what the style was called, having learn that other styles had names. He had just shrugged, stating that if it had one its been forgotten. He had just taken to referring to it Kawashiro style since they were the only ones who used it these days anyway.
This was basically her life for the next few years, going to the dojo to train before school and then going back to her uncles dojo for general training. Meanwhile her brother would eventually made his first blade. It was a knife, since her father only worked on one sword at a time and swords didn't make much money, the kitchen knives he makes with the the family sword smithing techniques are in such high demand that they sell at auction. Anyway, the day her brother came back from the forge with his first blade, he was so excited. It was far from great work but as a knife, it worked.
When Ouju had the time time, she liked to watch the hero channel on the TV, that and bunch of action shows. Anyway, Ouju had a tenancy to watch these things, when she wasn't being dragged off to try and learn an instrument. Something that Ouju didn't really enjoy but her sister loved, she put up with it but at the end of the day, her performance was very mathematical, and lacked 'soul'. It was through one of these lessons she discovered her quirk. Given the nature of her quirk, it was little wonder she found it out so late. It was a surprising moment for all involved. The pulse of sound just blasted the room, everyone was knocked over, panels blasted off the walls. It was lacking a better word for it a blast. Her sister was the first to break the silence that had come after but bursting into laughter as she looked at what had happened to her older sisters normally tidy hair. It had been one hell of a moment. Following this, she added messing around with her quirk to list of things she did in her day. Normally sneaking her mothers tuning forks away cause they were easy to use.
When she came to picking high school. Her choice of UA was a surprise to everyone. Well except her uncle, who she had talked with during their training sessions. He was the most supportive. Not to say the rest of her family wasn't. Her father was worried she'd get hurt and her mother had hoped she would follow in their footsteps. But no she had made up her mind and committed to be a career hero. Oh boy this was to be a wild adventure for the girl from Kyoto, who had seen people with their smart phones and cameras but never used them. She had seen the cars, buses and trains on the TV but had only ever walked or cycled to places. So she was the person on the train, who was staring out the window the whole ride. Exclaiming at every new thing she saw as it went by.
The entry exam for was a trial, not the actual test she had loads of fun. No it was having to quickly learn how computers and the various system just to get to the exam actually worked so she could use them. People joked about her being a country bumkin, not that it got any reaction other than confusion. She knew what the phrase meant and it didn't apply to her. No anyway the test was an utter blast. Everyone was just glad it was done but Ouju was asking if she could go again. Naturally they didnt let her but she passed the exam and started her first steps to being a hero.
Her first year, was eventful but as one would expect for a Hero student. She made friends, like Tanzo and Fali even though he was in the other class, learned the basics of being a hero. And some action packed job experience, where she picked up some useful tips on how do deal with problems in the areas she lacked. Fun times! though it was also filled with some frustrating weeks of trial and error testing, as she and the support students tried to figure out how to improve her gear. All the sweat and tears and explosions that were totally not her fault, was worth it though, as this was how the first iteration of her tuning sword came to be. A design that would be developed and improved upon.
As first year flew past so fast, Ouju moved to second year, this was where they real refinements of her person as a hero came about and where she was caught up in an event that saw her hospitalised for a whole month. She had been on another job experience, being lucky enough to get one her favourite heroes as her mentor. That was where her luck had turned and decided to bite her instead. They had been on patrol an uneventful all told when they had gotten the call to respond to villains rampaging. Of coarse the made it to the scene as fast as they could and they were the first to arrive. It was a three vs two fight and Ouju had to take on two of them by herself. She put up a fight, forcing them back and holding the line long enough for the civilians to get away. They took their pound of flesh as the price of her efforts. What happened next she doesn't really remember much of what happened afterwards. Apparently she had collapsed just after ack up arrived and had pacified one of the villains so that when the help had arrived, they had been an easy capture.
Quirk
Name: Resonator
Quirk Type: Emitter
Power: Ouju quirk is odd in the sense that it does not work without the right tools. She capable of enhancing and amplifying a sound produced by a dedicated source. Ideal sources are speakers, instruments (properly tuned) and tuning forks. The reason for this is that she needs to be holding the object produce the resonance to activate her quirks effects. With this when she produces a note with such a tool, she can boost the sounds intensity into several forms. From a simple wall of sound that can knock back foes to long sustained notes that suppress, confuse and disorientate whomever is caught in it. Finally she can focus it into a blade, that appears to be cutting but rather shaking the thing into bits where she is focusing. An additional effect of Ouju's quirk is that once a note is going she can sustain it as long as the source isn't changed or interrupted.
While Ouju needs to be holding the tool to utilise her quirk, as long as she triggers it before releasing the object, she can sustain the effects for ten seconds after releasing.
Supermoves: Still Rain: By hitting three notes in her sword or forks, she unleashes a constant emission of sound which once she taps the final note (which happens to be on the tip of her sword). The effect produces a zone around Ouju that in part causes a visual illusion to tricks the eyes in a couple of different ways. For those looking in, it seems like she and those inside the bubble are shimmering and not quiet where they seem. For those close to the edge to the bubble, it causes the vision to distort and cause throw off their visual balance. On a dry day it seems like dust in the air and on the ground is suddenly floating, as for rainy days, it cause the fun optical illation that the rain has stopped and is floating in the air. The point of this super move is to disorientate villains and allow Ouju to close the gap against those with long ranged quirks, and perform close quarters pacification.
Cloud cutter: A far more offensive move that draws from the Kawashiro sword style. Ouju focus the sonic wave that omitted from her tuning sword, produced by a sequence of six tones. Then with a swing of her sword the launches this blade of compressed sound up and out into the air towards the indented target where it will typically vibrate solid targets into dust and softer targets to mush.
Sound Barrier: A technique that utilises both her swords and throwing forks, with a quick four tone combo, which includes the forks, Ouju throws the forks way from herself where they imbed and with the resonance of the swords notes. She creates a barrier of sound that with her as its centre point redirect and deflects incoming attacks and dangers away from herself any one or thing behind her. By adding a couple of more notes in the brief 10 second shield she can enhance its effects to the point that it can break about large debris. Doing so takes and intense amount of focus and concentration and a small laps can result in the shields effects reversing and accelerating what ever it was meant to deflect into her.
Drawbacks: The simplest straight forward drawback of this quick is that she requires some form of tool or object to produce sound for her to amplify. Also she needs the found to be clean and resonant, clashing notes and sounds disrupts her quirk and causes blowback into her own body. The greater intensity of the sound increases the damage done to herself.
Ouju still experiences the effects of the sounds she is manipulating. There is always some back wash from it even when she's directing it away from herself.
While she can sustain the effects of of her quirk after letting go of the object, it till requires concertation and the distance from her own person diminishes the effect greatly.
Fighting Style: Ouju is the current successor of an old and practically forgotten sword style. As such she has taken to implementing it into her hero fighting style. Some would say it looks oddly like how ninja's have been portrayed in movies but that's not important. Its a dynamic fighting style involving a sword or surrogate and some form of throwing weapon. Its a fighting style that isn't afraid to be 'dishonourable' as its original routes was in the great waring eras on Japan's long history. Anyway, the style involves sweeping sword strikes, and swift punches and kicks to create opportunity. This is ether to fall back and throw a tuning fork or to use her quirk.
Ouju favours using her quirk to stagger, disrupt and disorientate her foes. As the activation of her quirk takes a hot moment to use, specially when fighting. It has been noted that Ouju's fighting style is surprisingly tuneful. When activating her her quirk through the tune sword she will strike it against the foe, object or with the fan she normally wields in her off hand. It should be noted that despite being left handed, she is ambidextrous when fighting.
