Playing a few cozy tunes on her lute to set the mood, Elyssa looked up at the big wolf-man with a smile, this time more warm and genuine rather than her teasing one. "Sounds like a plan, mate! I think we're gonna 'ave a lot of great adventures together!". Maybe it was because Elyssa hadn't been adventuring with anyone for a while and loneliness was getting to her, but she let out a little sigh of relief. It was good to travel with someone else again, especially one that could probably defeat a lynel, from the look of the guy. Looking into the warm glow of the flames, she spoke, her tone more serious for once. "Y'know, mate. If we travel togetha to find this 'ere ruler 'o the land or whatnot, perhaps you could 'elp me keep an eye out for somethin for 'lil ol' me?", she said. The random composing on the lute seemed to turn into an actual melody. "You see, there's this legend of a 'ero in green, who used the power of music to alter the very foundation of the world", she said lowly, seeming almost nostalgic for a moment as the flickering flames with the help of her magic shaped into an indistinguishable humanoid shape of a hylian man playing an ocarina to create rain, change night into day, and even slow down time. "These songs, known as songs of power, they ain't just a legend, mate, they're real. I know it. I feel it in my bones, my very essence". She turned her head and looked Blaidd dead in the eyes, and even though there was a bit of fear in her gaze, Blaidd was a gigantic, scary wolf-man after all, and her look made it perfectly clear she was aware he could kill her in seconds if he wanted to, there was sincerity in them, and trust. "I don't crave power or anythin', what I value above all is freedom, but 'avin' one of them songs would make me a legend too, you know, and ain't that all we seek 'ere in life? To be remembered once we're gone? Let's just keep an eye out for any signs of them magical tunes, yeah? An' if we come across'em, you 'elp me get'em? In return, I'll 'elp you with your fing, no questions asked". She looked back into the fire and let out another sigh. As she inhaled, she once more looked back at him, and the teasing, inviting smirk was back on her lips, clearly trying to change the subject to something more light hearted. "Besides, I can always write songs 'bout your heroic asskickery, make you a legend too, aye?". As Blaidd refered to the wagon she traveled in as a carriage, the bard let out a chuckle. "A carriage? Well fuck me, does that make 'ol Xarxes a royal 'orse then? I'll let that remark slide s'long as you don't start callin' me 'princess' or somethin'". Elyssa's face suddenly turned into a grimace of realization, and she looked into the fire once more, blushing and looking a bit embarassed. "Sorry, I'm blabberin' again, it 'appens when I meet people after a long journey alone".

Heh... great adventures. That wasn't exactly what Blaidd had been hoping for, but he figured he was stuck for now. Besides, she seemed a lot more reasonable than what initially suspected. The half-wolf reclines a little as he too gazes into the flames, a bit intrigued by Elyssa's tale and nodding his head a bit in tune to her melody. But then the flames flickered and showed an animated figure of a person, playing magic to alter the very workings of the world, like the bard had described. He was intrigued now, raising his brows a bit as he examined the figure. 'Songs of Power'...
He was a bit surprised to see her look at him so dead-serious, a bit admiring of her resolve and dedication to her quest. He could only honor that. He'd nod slowly. "Very well then, Elyssa. I'll do my best to keep my ears peeled and listening for any of these songs. I reckon we'll recognize one if we hear it... or see any reality-altering effects near one of them." he'd add with a chuckle. "It's good you do not crave power, young one. Wielding power is a heavy burden. Especially ones like the one you just described. To alter reality with just a few well-struck notes... it's both beautiful and terrifying."
"You do not need to write tales or songs about me, however. I... personally, do not seek recognition for my deeds. It's nice to have, but I feel it'd also be a crutch for me, if I do find this ruler I'm supposed to protect. Balancing that burden along with the burden of fame... it'd be too much." he'd shake his head. Of course, he was not going to STOP Elyssa from doing what she wanted. She valued freedom, after all. But Blaidd just felt that... fame and recognition was WRONG for him. Regardless, her abrupt silence made him chuckle anew. "Please, do not apologize your own excitement. I do not mind, truly."

Elyssa laughed at his words, a lovely, bubbly sound, a sound men could probably fight over for the privilege to hear it every day. "You're a silly one, luv", she said with a smile. "These song of power ain't played out in the wild, and we ain't just gonna 'ear em. They're probably 'idden away somewhere in some dusty old tomb, guarded by a super-powerful guardian that needs to be slain or somethin, just like any legendary weapon or treasure.". She glanced over at him as he spoke of not wanting fame and recognition yet still doing what he was told, and of the burden of power. "Exactly, you get it, luv. I don't like burdens. I prefer to roam, to sleep under a tree, to sing, dance and be free, just live life as it was meant to be", she said with another sigh of contentment followed by a giggle of realization. "Oi, that rhymed! Writing poems by the sound of a streamin' river, breathin' in the first smell of mornin' dew, ain't that the best? Also.. Deal, I won't write anythin' about your fame and glory, it'll be our little secret" she said with a wink.
For a moment she stretched with cat-like elegance, revealing surprisingly toned muscles in the light of the fire. At the end of the day she was a very acrobatic woman after all and didn't do all her climbing, jumping and tumbling for nothing. Looking back to Blaidd again, she gave him a curious glance. He understood her, that much was clear, not that Elyssa was hard to understand, but she didn't understand him. "So.. lemme get this straight. You're supposed to find and protect someone, but you don't know who it is and why you're doin' it or who set you up to it?". The question had burned on her lips since Blaidd had first mentioned his quest, and now she finally got to ask him. "Why? Why do it? Is it really what -you- wanna do?".

"Well, how am I supposed to know that? Music is not my strong suit... nor have I ever really heard it until you showed up." Blaidd huffs, in what seems to be a bit of a bashful tone, ears tilted backwards as his body language does indeed confirm his second-hand embarrassment, even if his face remains stoic. "Why would someone want to hide a song with such intricate security though? A weapon or treasure, I can understand. But a song... it feels more like something that is kept hidden in a secret vault... or perhaps in a grand library of dusty old tomes filled with such... compositions." regardless, he appreciated that she respected his desire of not having songs written about him. It felt... excessive.
The question about what -he- wanted to do though... that got him thinking. "I... am not entirely sure, Elyssa. Not in the slightest. All I feel is important to me is my purpose that I've been given... so for now, I guess that is what I want to do. After that, well... I'm not sure. It's... complicated, Elyssa." he glances to the fire, as it was now indeed just a pile of smoldering coals, slowly dying out from the cold air around them. "Look, I have not been around for as long as you have. To be honest, I think I've only "existed" for about... a few weeks at most. All spent on wandering the lands, trying to find this person whom my purpose is to protect. Everything else feels... unimportant."

Flabbergasted by his words, and seeing his embarassment, Elyssa moved over to him and patted him on the arm. "Sorry, luv, didn't mean to insult you, 'course you wouldn't know. Nah, songs have power to them, and while they might be 'idden in some dusty vault or library, there are legends out there 'bout songs so powerful and pure that family members 'ave murdered each other over it and 'id the songs away as a result. Wherever we come across it, I'm sure it'll be a grand adventure.".
Hearing him talk and pondering his words, she realized Blaidd was exact opposite. She was driven by freedom, to go wherever she wanted, do whatever she wanted, to be a free spirit without purpose or responsibilities. Blaidd was the exact opposite, he was a creature of pure purpose, perhaps that was why she was starting to warm up to him. It's like they said, opposites attract. "I get it, mate. You don't need to understand it right now then, let's just go do it and see if the pieces fall into place, yeah?".
Another amused smirk danced over her luscious lips. "'Owever, you ever feel an urge to do something odd, or somethin' you feel you don't 'AVE to do, but just WANT to do, like if you ever wanna stop and smell a buncha flowers or rest under a tree or somethin', you lemme know, 'kay?".

He... wasn't entirely sure he got the logic behind her words this time. Why would he just wanna stop and smell a bunch of flowers? Resting is something he did naturally, if he had to recover from an attack. It was natural. But... if he ever just WANTED to rest? That had never struck him before. But, regardless, he would simply nod to Elyssa, before he'd stand up and kick a pile of snow onto the burning coals, putting them out with a soft hiss.
"Very well then, Elyssa. I shall. For now, let us be off. I feel healed enough." he said, letting the woman lead the way to her carriage. It felt a bit weird, being as immense and powerful as he was, to follow someone smaller than him. But he figured... maybe this 'ruler' he was meant to protect would be smaller than him, too? It'd be good practice, if nothing else. "Elyssa... if I may ask. WHY is it exactly that you enjoy to just... DO things? With no structure or purpose to it? I'm just trying to wrap my head around it."

That bubbly sound that was Elyssa's laughter rang out once more as Blaidd asked his question. "We intrigue each other, don't we, mate? You intrigue me with 'ow you do fings only with a purpose, even if it seems to go against your wants and needs, and me 'how I do 'em without purpose, only doin' the fings I wanna". Getting up and adjusting her outfit and checking her lute before dismissing it with another flick of her wrist, she pondered his words why she does what she does. "Because I value freedom, like I mentioned. I answer to no leader, no king or anyone but meself, my two true loves in life is music and of course livin'. To be tied down is my worst nightmare, and while I could -easily- marry rich and be set for the rest of me life, I'd rather die free doin' my own fing than live under someone else's whim".
She gave him a curious glance. "Not that I can't like other people or anythin' though. Maybe one day I'll settle, but life's too short to follow duty and 'musts' all the time". She once more moved to pat him on the arm, a gesture meant in sympathy and not any sort of mockery. "To be free, free to adventure, eat, sleep, fuck, and play music, ain't that the meanin' of life itself, mate? That, that is what I'm all about. I'm no 'ero, no grand saviour o' the world, 'course I'll 'elp someone in need if I must, even if it might mean I get tied down to a place for a bit, but eventually I move on. This free soul cannot be contained, ya know?". s She blushed a little and gave him a sheepish grin. "Sorry luv, rambled again", she said as she headed on over to her cart. . "Dunno how 'ol Xarxes will 'andle you in the cart, mate, but we'll solve it. So, where to first?".

"It must be nice, to know what you want to do, and to just do it. I wish I'll get to experience that soon enough." Blaidd comments to Elyssa's rambling. He honestly did not mind it. To him it was... curious, that such a being was capable of being so energetic about just doing things. He just shakes his head dismissively as she apologizes yet again. "No need to. Your words inspire me, if anything. I'll look forward to a day where I can just... do things. On my own accord. Maybe this royal I'm supposed to find will let me have such a level of autonomy." he says, a bit hopeful.
He shrugs at being told he might not fit in the cart. "Very well. I have nothing against walking. Been spending several days doing it by now."

The Bard scoffed at Blaidds word about the royal he was meant to find giving him autonomy. "Pfft, I doubt that. That royal's only gonna order you around doin' things for 'the greater good' an' all that poppycock. It's up to you to decide for yourself whatcha wanna do, big boy. Besides, 'anging with me I guarantee we'll get into shenanigans unrelated to your mission, it's 'ow I work, excitement finds me where I go!". As she sat on the box of the wagon, she realized just how tall Blaidd really was as his head was on level with hers while up on the box. He could probably fit in the wagon if he wanted, but it'd be tight.
"Blimey.. You really -are- a big one. That bein' said, if it's ever too cold outside, I'd bet you can fit in the wagon anyway if ya tried. It's not that much space, but both of us could fit, although we'd be snug as a bug in a rug. You're huge and I'm space efficient, so it's all good. Xarxes can pull this old thing on 'is own anyway". As Xarxes started to walk next to Blaidd, not at all at the same pace as the wolf man. The bard made a sweeping, dramatic gesture forwards with her hand. "Onwards then, my friend, to adventure! Lead the way, noble wolf-warrior!". After not even a minute of traveling, Elyssa started humming a little to herself she. "You mind if I sing a li'le? It's 'ow I keep myself entertained on long journeys. That, or a long, rambling conversations.", she said, giving Blaidd a teasing smile.

"I won't know until I meet them." Blaidd stressed, giving a somewhat unintentional stare at Elyssa as he says it. Like something told him to let Elyssa know not to badmouth this royal. It was odd, and he immediately bristles the fur on his head and shakes himself clear. "S-Sorry. I don't know where that came from. Ugh..." he groans, rubbing his snout in embarrassment, before he would begin to walk alongside Xarxes. The mention of singing got Blaidd to look back at Elyssa, giving her a confirming nod.
"Please, do. As you said, you are a free spirit. Do as you desire."

Elyssa made big eyes as Blaidd's fur bristled, giving him a surprised stare. As soon as she noticed the danger was over, she looked onto the road ahead. "I see... You're compelled to do this. Tha' makes a lot more sense. Poor fella..". She reached over and patted him on the shoulder. She looked at Blaidd with new eyes. There was no disgust in her look, but she felt disgust. Not at him, no quite the opposite. She felt disgust towards whoever forced him to do it against his will. Instead the look she gave the wolf-man was one with a flash of anger, an emotion Elyssa rarely felt. "I'm 'avin' a talk with whoever compelled you to do it once we've found this royal", she said bitterly. However, someone like Elyssa never stayed angry for long, and just mere moment later, she took a deep breath and started humming a little tune. It was a tune that told Blaidd that everything would be okay, even that he could have a hug if he wanted. It took only a few seconds for Elyssa to get in the zone, her eyes closed and any signs of anger or frustration melted away.

Blaidd was surprised at the girl's sudden look of anger in her eyes. The pat on his shoulder felt a lot more... warm. Not due to her underlying, fuming rage. But out of... compassion? That is how he perceived it at least. But how could he know if he was deserving of said compassion? He didn't even fully know if what he was doing was somehow wrong. Following a preordained purpose, gifted to him by a higher power... was that so wrong? Elyssa seemed to think so, and she was a person with not a single evil bone in her being, seemingly. "... As you say." was all he responded with, unable to bring himself to say anything else.
Still, he'd walk alongside her cart, and listened to the tune she hummed. It was soothing. And it made Blaidd smile a bit. Feeling as if things were alright for now. He could just go on this journey, and not a single thing would happen to him. He could be... free. He'd glance over to Elyssa, and give a faint, genuine smile. And his tail might've also been giving the faintest of wags behind him.

Finishing her song, Elyssa glanced over to Blaidd and saw his smile. She returned it with an equally nice smile. She missed the tail wagging, and that might be for the best or she might have let out a little squeal of excitement. Instead, she just wrapped the reins of the old mule around her hand, the other one around her knee so she could steer the wagon, before she summoned up her lute and played a few tunes. It was nothing in particular, no song, just playing music. Glancing over to the wolf-man, she studied him now. Yeah, a real rugged badass, but clearly a softie inside. "So, Blaidd, mate. Tell me about yourself. Even if you're compelled to do things for someone you don't even know who it is, surely there's somethin' you like other than fulfillin' destinies? 'Ow about flowers? Or maybe you 'ave an unmatched love for knittin'?".

He was a bit surprised at her dexterous nature of handling the cart and mule, able to steer it with just a hand and a knee, while summoning a lute and playing music at the same time. His ears did perk at her display of skills, but they quickly flattened back when he realized she was addressing him. Again, her question seemed so simple... but it was nerve-wracking for him to answer it with a flat answer. He had to think for a while. "Well... I do appreciate a good fight, certainly. I've run into my fair share of foes up until now. A fight is really exhilarating for me, it gets my blood boiling and just fills me with... I guess 'excitement'? And I like nature, too. It's the best way to get my mind still and calm... the only times when I am NOT plagued by a voice in my head. When I can just sit and... just take it all in."

Often when Elyssa laughed, it was a sound used to make people more pliable to her whims, many were the people who wanted to make her smile and laugh, but her genuine laughter was something more, it was just -pleasant- to hear. Now she made such a laugh at his words, shaking her head with a big smile on her face. "Boys and their violence", she teased with a grin. "Aight, well don't count on me to spar ya, luv, you could fold me in 'alf with one 'and. If some ruffian comes to try and 'urt me though, I know who to rely upon, and I'll patch you up while you brood if you get injured". She smiled even wider as he said he liked nature. "Knew you 'ad a soft side to ya. Next time we set camp, I'll make sure to make it in a nice 'lil nature-y spot, just for you". Was the wink that followed sincere, or was she teasing him again? Hard to tell.
