For the sake of being a good host, Kunimi would rent out an outdoor lounge space. This small hotel would sit in the shadow of the city, and was nestled away from all the hustle and bustle. Each person invited wasn't exactly a publicly known face, so each of them could move freely like regular civilians. With a cup full of wine, the leader of team confidence would look over the scenery, downtown Hosu in the distance. 20 long years. To think so much time had gone by... Kunimi relished the idea of meeting with Weaver again. Back then KK saw him as a rival of sorts, someone to catch up to. While they plotted and schemed with Cerberus, Weaver always seemed to be preoccupied with other things. In fact, of the three heads he was the first to defect from the group... Cerberus had a good thing going but losing one head was the equivalent of losing all 3. The organization fell into an imbalance with only KK and Izumi leading. With time even Izumi would defect, claiming she'd build an empire of her own. That left the organization to crumble into pieces. That was then... Back when they were young minds going head to head with the last of the Silver Age. The era would be followed by Strive's rise to popularity alongside other heroes within his graduating class. It was as if all his hard work was put to waste... all the plots schemes, and heroes killed. All of it. His expression soured slightly. For the plans he had to crush the hero world, he was so close. Waiting until now to act was the right move. He'd been grooming his little cluster into a full fludged information brokerage over the past two years. If there was a time to tackle the hero society, it would be now. The distinct clicking of heels would approach. She paid no mind to all the luxury and trained her eyes on the lone familiar face. The very person that helped her when she was young. She took after the man a little, but only enough so that she could understand the world better. With her own goals and ambitions, sticking around in Cerberus had served it's purpose. It was a chapter in her book, that was already written and over. At one point, she met a certain someone who changed the very fabric of how she saw her tactics. To sculpt her villainy under the thick veneer of justice, well what could get more devious than that? To them, she was known as Necropolis, Necro for short. An invitation like this was rare. It had been what, 20 years since she last saw Weaver, and 10 since she last saw Kunimi. It was like a class reunion. As much as it was a closed chapter, it never hurt to go back and read for enjoyment's sake. With the particular position she was in, she wasn't quite sure if she could be of service to either. In her own opinion she wouldn't have gotten this far without either of them and for that, she'd make sure to lend her services should either of the two need them. "Oooooooh boy." She smiled big. "You've gained weight. All that brain food, has gone to you're gut my friend." KK would gulp down his wine, and pat his relatively flat stomach. Perhaps she was referencing his uber-skinniness of back in the day. "It's all gotta go somewhere. What the hell happened to your eye? And your hair." KK inquired. A silence befell the two. Interestingly enough, they got along with no need to formal greeting. Izumi would look into the distance with a feint smile, and answer. "The hair happened naturally. Guess it's got to do with my quirk or something. I'm sure Weaver could figure it out. The eye... well... an old abusive relationship..."

The missing piece to this get-together was not so much missing as he was presuming that he had not been noticed. With that said, as he was, this missing piece was extremely difficult to miss, arguably more than Necropolis herself these days. He was clad from head to toe in a highly sophisticated suit, which would readily (and rightly) identify him as a man of nefarious intent. No self-respecting Pro Hero would dress themselves in such a manner, lest they be mistaken for the very thing they fought against. It was a rare occasion indeed for him to go out into “public”, rarer still for him to do so in his true identity. Weaver was particular like that. Despite his inclinations, he had made sure to be the first one to arrive. When Weaver made appointments, he never showed up to play second fiddle. There were no exceptions.
As K.K. and Necropolis exchanged pleasantries with one another, Weaver busied himself at an adjacent table with some matter on a personal device, an errand that he had brought with him to this meeting to file amid the noise. As it happened, it had been a prudent gesture - twenty years, and those two had not changed at all. Which begged the question:
“Why am I here?”
It was not directed at K.K. nor Necropolis… necessarily. Either of them were welcome to answer it. As had been previously established, their penchant for diatribes had not faded. It eluded him who other than one (or both?) of them would have called this meeting after so long. A honeypot? Weaver had suspected this at first, though considering that K.K. had agreed to come, a man more paranoid than even him, Weaver had ruled it out. If nothing else, this affair was proving to be curious enough to justify Weaver’s attendance for the time being.

KK would pivot sharply toward Weaver before he could put a verbal knife through Izumi's last comment. "If you didn't deem it important you wouldn't have shown up." He was smiling a great deal at this simple truth. If he recalled correctly, Weaver always looked elsewhere, unaware of his own wants. No villain of his ilk would show up to a meeting outside a distinct want or curiosity. KK played with the thought, but would quickly digress to the person beside him. "I called a meeting between you and I, this one caught wind of it somehow and showed up anyway." A lie... Izumi would find herself a seat to lounge on. The fire was nice and toasty as the air fell into cooler temps. She neither confirmed or denied this claim. For her own selfish reasons, she had to be as well connected as the two boys. In order for her to color the world into her shade of chaos, she'd need to be on the up and up for her vigilante kiddies to give a good show. Of course she wouldn't spoil their fun too much, but let's be honest here. Her own fun came first!
"The times are changing, old friend. I merely came to... catch up." Kunimi actually didn't know what line of business Weaver currently was in. It had something to do with experimentation... an assumption based on the only true interest he'd shown. " I believe it's the time to become active, more so than our days together." He had proof supporting his argument: police reports, other villains, transcripts, and quirk registrations of people coming in and out of the country.
Izumi rolled on her belly, kicking her legs as if she were a young girl on the phone with friends. "Ahhhh, I know what you mean. My work has been pretty easy recently. Heroes and hero students are dropping like flies nowadays. It's like even with that Strive guy around, there's a subtle loss of hope happening. 10 years of peace, more like 10 years of complacency." Izumi chimed in. "Weaver, did you know? You don't even need to kidnap anyone anymore, they just come crawling to your feet if you entice them enough. Give a human what they yearn for, they'll become putty in your hands. They'll do ANYTHING. I'm sure with some proper fishing, even you could wrangle up some test subjects. " She cackled.
KK wasn't as amused but he could believe her. Weaver didn't know so he'd fill him in on the gap of information. "She runs a vigilante enterprise now... and somehow manages to keep them tame enough to not get in her way when plotting. It's a bit impressive, but I would've preferred you both join my newest venture. An information brokerage. With the age we're in now. Information is everything. " He'd get a refill on his wine. "But I've come to understand you both with this long absence. We don't need to be together. We'd only get in each other's way. As of now... I only wish to catch up and share information. So that we may proceed toward our separate goals. "

The man did not respond to Kunimi's retorts. To most, it was easy to assume that Weaver simply ignored anyone who spoke to him. Most of the Menagerie held this useful impression. He continued with his device. It did not show any information directly, but rather streamlined it directly into Weaver's biometrics. He knew whose meeting he had come to. Did he?
Times changing... "Hmmph." The man exhaled through his nostrils, which came out as a dull hum. Unimpressed. Did they know how they sounded? Perhaps there was merit to the idea that dealing in the absurd in turn joined you to it. He considered their words. K.K., with his business of "modern crime", sounding more like government espionage than a criminal underworld. Necropolis, indulging that predatory instinct, with that selfsame indelible passion. Had any of them changed?
On one hand, K.K.'s proposal was logical. Practical. A system of information peddling and covert operations made for useful assets, particularly when one needed to shift culpability. It was also the honeypot that Weaver had expected. He would have direct access to Weaver's research, at the very least privy to a glimpse of his own plans, in addition to everyone else his network was connected to. A non-starter. Kunimi, becoming predictable? Weaver dismissed the notion. He was a capable rival and partner in equal measure. The man did not lack for boldness, that much was clear.
On the other hand, Necropolis understood the nature of things, perhaps more than even Weaver did. Peace and complacency were synonymous things, and Heroes were no different. It was a world of opportunity, provided one had the willpower to manifest it. Weaver made a note of turning his attention to the woman directly, playful and childlike as she acted. She was a monster, in every sense of the word. It was fascinating. Alas, this very cunning was exactly why she was just as repulsive as she was admirable. This convenience Izumi spoke of was not sporting, nor satisfying. There was nothing to be gained from enterprises that did not invite challenge or risk. That instinct of hers would only take Necropolis so far. He would have no part in it.
On the third hand, which Weaver had amputated earlier this morning, gave him pause to reflect on what he ought bring to this questionable table. He was a man of propriety, after all. It would not do to keep everything under the table. Firstly, he returned his masked gaze to K.K. "You have not remained active?" The faint hint of confusion in Weaver's modulated voice was equal parts dry wit. The implication was clear enough. Weaver propped an arm on the table, raising it vertically such that his gloved hand tapped the temple of his helmet twice. "You will know what you need to know, K.K. Nothing more."
He lowered that arm to the table, joining his other arm, which had stopped interacting with his device for the moment. He drummed his fingers against one another arrythmically. "What do you make of this generation?"

"You have not remained active?"
KK sighed. Weaver wasn't biting... It would've been nice if he played along. He'd pull a folder from his jacket and walk over to drop it right on the scientist's lap. "Oh, I've never been still in my whole life." the blonde scoffed, plopping onto a couch. He wouldn't explain what was in it. Izumi was already in thought about the question at hand. She pulled her fingers through her hair, with a daring glance at KK. The broker didn't budge, but it got a laugh out of her. "They'rrrrrrre"
"Enough to profit off of."
"Well, that... and I think it would be best to say they aren't like our generation at all. There aren't any distinct lines drawn in the sand, because the pillar of justice is a puppy. Sure he's got that winning record and reputation, but think back to the number 1 of our era, when we first started. THAT was undeniable."
"I agree, there are holes. From the Yakuza to those in Damascus to our own individual groups. The right play at the right time can exploit so much, more importantly, knock those heroes down a peg." The broker folded his arms and closed his eyes. If Weaver weren't going to play the guessing game, he'd just slowly let the cat out of the bag. "For what I envision to happen, I need a certain pimple popped. I'll give you more details later, but there's a reward of course if you can get this done. "

When K.K. placed the folder before Weaver, he did not respond at first, though it said enough that he continued to give him his due attention. For the time being, this conversation was proving more interesting than his personal curiosity.
He paused, then drolly picked up the folder and began to peruse its contents. He absorbed its contents in a matter of seconds, though he maintained the facade of continuing to study it for a while longer before setting it face-down on the table.
Weaver stared at K.K. directly. "If you insist upon this, I have one rule: We conduct business as equals. I am not an employee to be paid. In return for this, you will do something for me." Though Weaver's mask does not move, his eyes wander towards Necropolis. Chaotic though she was, she was a creature of passion. She was here for a reason.

"If you insist upon this, I have one rule: We conduct business as equals. I am not an employee to be paid. In return for this, you will do something for me."
"Aaaaah so he is still deep down there?" Izumi teased. "Welcome back."
Equals. Quite the sentiment to hold with someone like Kunimi of all people. The man seemed quite satisfied with owing Weaver a favor. "All in a day's work." Perhaps that was his intention. "As it pertains to the documents, I'm going to have to wait on when we begin this. It's not like it doesn't benefit both of us. Better to strike early, before hero ears begin to perk up. " He'd cross his arms, a finger tapping against his own bicep. "Or vigilante ears..."
Izumi would shrug with a coy expression. "Dependssssss. Kidding! I think it all depends on how seriously Mr. Weaver takes himself. He needs to get in touch with his primal wants. KK, my gut tells me his request of you will be something worth sinking my teeth into." KK paused to think about what she said. The blonde hated how heavy her words were at times. She was right though. Working together probably wasn't going to happen again in a long time, possibly ever. For the 3 of them to commit to a task, it was going to be hard for anyone to stop it. She'd walked toward the exit, only to stop short of the door. She'd mockingly blow the both of them kisses, before vanishing into the night with a cackle. KK's let the sound of her heels trailing off be the greenlight for him to really pick Weaver's brain.
"So... for the prospect of this kid's quirk. It's worth it for you, right? -a proper subject to experiment on. " There were multiple ways to pay people. What mattered is how the person in question, liked to get paid. Weaver... well, he was a scientist...

Weaver maintained his usual airs of stoicism, especially with Izumi. She was in many ways his inverse, a reckless woman of chaos, obsessed with corruption over discovery. She did not move him as she did others, though their dissonance could be felt just the same. Most troublesome.
For all Izumi's playful banter, Weaver paid no mind to her theatrical exit. He handed the folder back to Kunimi. He did not seem to need it. "It is worthy of study. I will see this done. In exchange, you will indulge my request." A beat. Weaver leaned ever slightly forward. He never raised his voice, but the inflection was apparent enough. "You will not ask why. I will not ask how. Are we agreed?" From here, there was no recourse. The business must be beneficial to both parties.

KK took the folder, and popped it open to glance at his handy work. Snapping his shut, his eyes would flick to Weaver who seemed the least bit entertained at Izumi's fair well flamboyance. KK on the other hand shook his head. Weaver seemed adamant about getting his point across. That was fine because it also meant he'd be just as adamant about getting the job done. "Indeed, no request is too big or small for my team. It will get done." He reassured the man. When it came to Weaver creating some boundaries, he kept his mouth shut. For a information broker, there were times information presented itself. He wouldn't need to ask. He'd show himself out of the venue, and find a cab home. The villain was more than satisfied with himself and his former colleagues. What a wonderful feeling it was to be in the know.
End.
