Physical Description
It is clear Asier was born a human, still possessing a standard humanoid body, but it's also clear he has become something more. He has grown significantly from his absorbtion of monster energy, standing at a hefty eight feet tall with a bulky, muscular build that makes him cut an imposing image. Below the neck his entire body is covered in short brown fur. His brown head hair and facial hair are unkempt and scruffy, but Asier has put forth a bit more effort to keep it tame. His eyes have a striking glare of confidence to them, with one eye coloured red and the other coloured brown, and his face has strong sharp features including a prevalent jawline. His teeth are largely human, but his canines are enlarged into fangs that would be quite painful to be bitten by. He has striking crystalline features, most prevalent in the horns on his head, but also in small spikes of crystal growing out of the length of his spine. His other most striking feature is the large, midnight black wings growing out of his back. He almost always keeps them furled tight, because if he unfurls them they radiate a horrible aura that draws the Entity's attention. Hidden within his wrists he also has poison sacs which secrete a rancid-smelling black toxin when he wills it.
Clothing
As a captive, Asier didn't have the luxury of good clothes, which also proved true when he was surviving out in the wild. Now that his body is covered in fur he has even less uses for clothes, though being raised a human makes him feel inclined to wear some clothing, more as a habit than as a sheer necessity. Whatever clothing he does wear is rarely anything more than rags meant to serve the simplest of functional purposes.

Awaisera's Horn
Appearance
It's a shattered piece of a crystalline horn from Awaisera, Avatar of Change. This horn had been broken off in the midst of her saving Asier's life, which Asier grabbed before running.
Source of Bond
When his caravan was attacked by a horrid raven monster, Asier was saved by the Great White Beast, later revealed to be named Awaisera. This piece of horn broke off in the fight, which Asier kept as a keepsake. His fascination with the white beast paired with his gratitude for his life led to him developing a bond to the horn.
MYSTICAL ENERGY POWERS

Shapeshift
Ability Description
Through his connection to the Avatar of Change, Asier has gained the ability to make quick but temporary modifications to his body primarily for the purpose of utility in combat.
Ability Drawback
Maintaining more than one of these modifications at a time will consume exponentially more energy. In the broad sense Asier will generally only use one or two at a time. Switching between modifications also consumes energy quickly, so he can't use this ability frivolously.

PALE ENERGY POWERS
Ability Name
Pale Blast
Ability Description
Asier is capable of releasing bursts of pale energy in the form of crescent slashes, broad cones of energy, or exploding orbs.
Ability Drawbacks
In addition to being taxing to use, it is also largely imprecise as a relatively simplistic release of energy.
Ability Name
Pale Lightning
Ability Description
Asier is capable of conjuring a functionally similar fascimile of real lightning to blast enemies with.
Ability Drawbacks
Though more predictable than actual lightning, it still takes a fair bit of focus to strike a target at further range.
REMNANT ENERGY POWERS
Ability Name
Enigmatic Insight
Ability Description
Asier has gained similar spiritual senses to that of a monster, allowing him to gauge the mystical potency of people more precisely and sense mystical energy more acutely. He has also unlocked the ability to dreamwalk and telepathically communicate with people. The most strange effect of this ability is it gives him brief glimpses into the past or future, though it is completely out of his control and usually vague.
Ability Drawbacks
Asier's visions are completely outside his control, which can lead to confusion, especially if one happens in the heat of battle.
~~~Important Information~~~
Personality
Asier is a fellow that is sometimes hard to read if you don't already know him, holding a passive or stern gaze as his default. In recent times he has opened up however, gaining some humor and mirth to counteract his dour moods. Ultimately he is still a damaged person from his years of captivity and suffering, which will take a long time to heal. He is a determined and resilient person whom finds purpose in the goals he has set for himself, predominantly defying and hunting the vile creatures that the Entity sends out to the world. He values family highly and greatly misses his home, but has also found some solace in his mentor Awaisera. Deep within him he has an urge to explore and learn more about the world, which has made him somewhat restless since he isn't able to leave the Heart of Silva until he grows strong enough to guard himself from the Entity's minions.
History
Early Life and Heritage
The Lelantos tribe-- One of the proudest and most accomplished of the tribes in Arbos. Their people have been deeply involved monster hunters for generations, and their pride over this fact is something they share eagerly. Unlike many tribes whom live in the treetops, the Lelantos tribe is not only migratory but also lives on the ground. There is no fear of monsters, because they are the hunters after all. The Lelantos tribe always follows where the monsters are, and they pride themselves on big game hunting. The Hunt serves not only a practical purpose in the acquisition of food or other materials from monster corpses, but it is also an important sport and show of manhood. The bigger the trophy you bring home, the more you are respected and valued.
Asier was born not only to this revered tribe, but also to the strongest family line in the tribe-- The Ibaiguren. His father, Garaitz Ibaiguren, is one of the most accomplished and capable monster hunters in Sylvia. His largest trophy is a monster skull that is larger than he is, a great horrific creature he hunted on Radix, one of the most dangerous monster realms in the world. Garaitz is old and wise, but more than that, he was a good father. Asier was his eldest son, and as such was expected to carry on his father's legacy. The pressure was on him from a very young age-- People expected him to gain a bonded object quickly. He didn't for a large portion of his childhood and young teen life, however. That didn't worry his father though-- His father didn't bond with his object properly and establish his powers until he was in his early twenties. Late risers weren't uncommon in his family line, and his father above all else was a patient man. Not to mention, one doesn't NEED a bonded object to hunt well, there are several of those hunters in the tribe. That didn't change the expectation for Asier to gain one though. He trained Asier in all the ways of the hunt he knew, and as he grew into a young man Asier took after his father heavily. His wit, determination, and aptitude for the hunt was just as people would expect of an Ibaiguren; there was little doubt he would one day be the next chieftain of the Lelantos tribe.
The White Beast
His bonded object wouldn't come until he was around age seventeen, Asier joining a mission the Lelantos tribe was hire to do. They were transporting goods that were too heavy to transport by air, so it needed defending from the local monsters. Asier's father had planned to personally go on the mission with Asier, but for some reason he had important business that was urgent enough. He still told Asier to go on the mission however, he trusted his son to handle himself. The mission was largely uneventful for most of it, his clansmen doing well to keep the caravan in the proper path to avoid monsters, and silencing the ones that did get curious. It was quick and efficient, the kind of work his people prided themselves on.
But business as usual ended when, with an ear-shattering shriek, a shadow swooped over the caravan-- SMASH the massive monster sent the armoured transport tumbling off the path, rolling onto its side. Asier was lucky to not have been one of the poor bastards that got crushed by the tumbling vehicle. Asier and his clansmen immediately turned to the creature. It was huge, larger than most monsters Asier had seen. He knew there were much, much bigger monsters out there, but this thing wasn't small fry. It was black as midnight and avian in appearance, with claws on the joints of its feathered wings. The creature snapped at the huntsmen, eviscerating some that weren't quick enough to avoid it. The one major fault of the Lelantos tribe is their individualism. Without a clear leader, they didn't naturally work together as they were all individually monster hunters. The men were scattered by the beast, it consuming several men as the hunters had become the hunted. Asier himself was backing up, the monster noticing him and starting to claw its way in his direction. Was this his fate? To be a snack to some horrific corvid monster?
With all the fury of a thunderhead, a blur of pale fur vaulted over Asier's head, the massive white beast pouncing onto the raven monster with a ferocious roar. Pale white energy arced across its fur and danced along its body as it slashed at the creature, fighting with intense ferocity. Having a moment to look at it further, Asier noted the most unique of its features besides the white fur-- It had crystalline features. Four crystalline horns on its head, with crystalline spines along its back ending in a similarly crystalline scorpion tail. The crystal was sky blue, but glowed a bright white when energy was channeled through them. The pale magic of the creature was captivating, to say the least.
In the midst of it fighting the horrific black raven, a surprisingly serene female voice echoed in the back of Asier's mind, <It would be best if you run, humans,> The serenity with which the voice spoke, in spite of the pure fury with which it fought, felt extremely strange in Asier's mind. His fellow huntsmen were quick to take its advice, but Asier was captivated. He felt some strange pull toward the create, and he stood there in a sort of trance, watching it and the raven creature wrestle.
The raven thrashes and gets a lucky shot on the White Beast, its claw shattering one of its horns. With a roar of pain and fury, the White Beast crushes the raven against the ground. The shattered fragments of the horn fly in Asier's direction, one large fragment falling to his feet. Without a second thought, Asier picks up the crystalline shard of the White Beast's horn. Looking up again, he sees the White Beast stab its scorpion tail into the raven monster. Power surged through the crystal, and the raven creature's eyes glowed white, its thrashing speeding up as it wails in agony. Finally, white light begins searing through its plumage, ripping the creature apart from the inside. Backing away slowly from the event, Asier himself finally flees the scene, though the image of the Great White Beast lingered in his mind.
Asier returned home with the rest of his huntsmen and immediately reported to his father what happened. His father was dumbfounded, but glad that Asier had returned alive. He had never in his years heard of a white-furred creature living in Sylvia, and given how long he's been around and how far he's traveled, it was unlikely to say the least that he hadn't seen this creature. He was immediately curious, especially as Asier showed him the crystal fragment of its horn. He let Asier keep the horn, seeing the sort of look in his eye as Asier looks at the fragment. His father set about working with his men, starting to see if they can coordinate and find this 'white beast'. From what Asier guessed, the creature impressed his father and his father would likely try to hunt it. His father was relentless like that.
An Uncanny Bond
Time would go by, and as he went on hunts he always kept the fragment by his side. Sure enough, he eventually bonded with the object, and at around age eighteen he found he was able to temporarily transform parts of his body, making wicked crystal claws. He put them to good use in his hunts, slowly transitioning from his old skills in archery to a much more close and personal combat style. His father was very supportive of Asier, and as a close combat fighter himself, he taught Asier as much as he knew about fighting monsters mano e mano. Those were good days for Asier, hunting with his father and learning more about his developing powers. Eventually he would start to realize he could sense monsters and even feel their feelings when he was near enough. This made it easier for him to fight certain monsters-- It made them more predictable. With this sense of empathy he became better at tracking as well, sensing the mystical energies of monsters. His father was impressed at these powers and every day he encouraged Asier to practice and hone his skills. Asier's father was always pushing him to improve, and within just a year he had become much more adept at wielding his powers.
An event he didn't particularly remember, but became notable later, was shortly after the incident with the White Beast, he was interviewed by members from the people who hired his tribe to protect the caravan. Hearing his tale, they learned he had a piece of the beast's horn, and that he was also bonding with it. He told them about the powers he had developed thus far, and though they were curious, they simply thanked him for his contributions and left. He didn't think much of it, but he had become watched intently from that moment forward.
That's when the most strange and unique part of his powers came in. One day he was eating his dinner like the rest of his family, but his family noticed as silvery streaks began to take form in Asier's hair, slowly spreading from the base all the way to the tips. Asier noticed as well, and was quite confused. After some discussion among his family, they were unsure what to make of the change. The next day however, after he ate lunch, his left eye suddenly shifted from a brown hue to a red hue. His father, spiritually attuned and knowledgeable as he was, was aptly able to decipher that eating monster meat seemed to have an effect on Asier. From that moment his father made sure Asier avoided monster meat until they could understand what that effect was. Asier himself was very confused, but he had to admit he liked the new silvery hair at least.
Abducted
A few weeks later, he was sent out on a hunting trip with one of his friends. They were part of a larger hunting operation but were pairing off. As they walked together, Asier's keen senses swear he could feel the presence of nearby people. Without warning, he felt a prick in his neck. Moving his hand to feel, he felt... A dart? Before he could ponder it further, he felt darkness closing in, until he had passed out.
Asier eventually awoke. Groggily glancing around, he'd not see the natural walls of his home-- But rather the concrete walls of a prison cell. His eyes widen and he jerks awake. What the hell? Where is he?
No sooner did he get his bearings, the cell door opened and two rather burly dudes walked in. They spoke to him bluntly; he was coming with them. He readied himself to fight, but he noticed his horn fragment wasn't on him, so he couldn't access his special powers. He was also still very woozy from the tranquilizer-- The enforces found little difficulty subduing him. He was dragged through several halls and into a deeper, secure compound. There was machinery out and about, strange scientific apparatuses doing who knows what tests. He was eventually brought to a secure room and forced to his knees. A blindfold was placed on him, then he heard footsteps enter the room. What happened next was a bit of... Coercing. Eventually, Asier was forced into a magical geass; he cannot knowingly bring the Brotherhood to harm or reveal their efforts, and they must obey the commands of any Brotherhood Officer.
Suffice it to say, that started a new chapter in Asier's life: A period of time in forced servitude under the Brotherhood. They captured him specifically for his unique abilities, and they were sure to abuse that fact. He was forced to eat monster meat with his horn fragment on multiple occasions and has mutated multiple times over the years, leaving him lopsided and misshapen. Several other experiments were done on him as well, often being quite painful and inhumane. They injected chemicals into him to see if they could control or manipulate his mutations at all; they harvested the crystal from his claws, and then his antlers, in an attempt to study its compounds (To little success, the crystal seems to be averse to intensive study); they subjected him to multiple fights with monsters and hunts to test his strength and take notes on his capabilities; and they even injected monster DNA directly into him. For the most part the DNA tests didn't have a noticeable effect, until one day he was brought into a far more secretive and well defended lab. In which was a doctor and a mysterious, wicked black horn that had a very ominous aura to it. After much discussion among his officers, he was then injected with a sample of the Black Horn's DNA. Unlike the DNA tests before, this one had a noticeable effect on Asier after about a week: He felt more on edge, more energized if you will. He felt more in tune with his instincts and his reaction times increased. He generally felt more powerful, at least in terms of his mental state. For the many years he was there he had suppressed his urges to leave, but this had reignited that spark. Asier craved freedom, he NEEDED it. And soon enough, he would get it.
In the weeks following the Black Horn Experiment, Asier would also experience strange effects in his spiritual insight. He began to see random flashes of the future, small hints at what was to come. Or was it the past? Perhaps a present event he was divining? He couldn't tell, and it often confused him. Moreover he felt more connected to the world around him, and he had begun to be able to get a sense of how powerful monsters are as he approaches them. Even in his dreams he saw things, things he didn't fully understand. He's seen the White Beast in his dreams multiple times before, but he was seeing it almost nightly now. He felt more obsessed over finding it now than ever...
Freedom
A couple months after the Black Horn Experiment, Asier was on a hunt with a group of Brotherhood soldiers keeping an eye on him. It was a standard procedure to test his capabilities, he hunts like this almost once a week. Something about the air felt foul to Asier, though. He could feel it, an ominous presence, a FAMILIAR presence. Turning his eye to the skies, he would noticed the black pall of wing flaps as a creature he hadn't seen in half a decade was bearing down on the group. The soldiers immediately sprung to action-- And were subsequently knocked asunder as the powerful raven beast screeched and led the offensive. Before he could even issue a command, the commanding officer was crushed and eviscerated by the beast, and it was likely his men would soon follow. He could practically smell it-- This beast was powerful, and moreover something about it was uncanny to him. It felt vile to even look at, like a spiritual black spot as it consumed his 'brethren'. He then made a realization. His captain hadn't issued a command. He had... Free choice.
And with the soldiers rapidly meeting their ends, Asier knew what choice he would make.
He ran. The sounds of bloody murder faded behind him as he dove into the underbrush, immediately trying to make sure he was concealed as much as possible so the vile fiend couldn't find him. He hadn't felt this sick to his stomach in a long time, and he certainly didn't feel that way when he saw this creature last. Wait, this couldn't be the same creature, the White Beast killed it... Are there more?
This thought worried Asier deeply as he brushed himself off. He was... Free. Freedom had finally come. He could barely believe it, he felt like he was in a dream. What... Do I do now?
Without much to go on, Asier set into his instincts and began to forage for food and get some shelter in order. His family line was all survivors, and he was no exception. Wherever his path leads him now... He must be ready.
List of Temporary Modifications
Crystalline Claws
His go-to weapon, Asier can conjure rapid crystalline growth to shape his hands into serrated claws that allow for highly effective slashing damage.
Thick Coat
Asier can heavily thicken his fur coat, slightly cushioning the blow of blunt attacks and providing mild defense against slashing attacks. Its primary purpose however is environmental, heavily increasing his heat retention in cold climates.
Bone Plating
Azier can shield portions of his body with bony plating, providing very good protection against slashing attacks, and decent protection overall. However it is particularly vulnerable to armour piercing attacks or precise applications of blunt force.
Hunter's Eyes
Asier can enhance his eyesight, allowing him to see further and with more precision. It also allows him to see in the dark.
Camouflage
When activated Asier's body briefly shimmers while it shifts to blend into the nearby terrain. This is at its most effective while he remains still, but can still confuse enemies in the heat of battle.
Ability Drawbacks
Making permanent modifications to his body takes a lot of energy, which he gains from primarily hunting and consuming monsters.
List of Permanent Modifications
Below is a list of all the modifications Asier has made to his body that provide some form of practical use.
Accelerated Growth (x2)
Asier has expended a significant amount of mystical energy to increase his overall size, providing obvious advantages to his strength and durability, as well as providing him more physical room for other modifications/crystals. At a baseline this modification makes him grow roughly a foot in height and bulks him up to match. Each consecutive use of this will cause him to grow even more, roughly a third of a foot more than the last (So his second gives him roughly 1'4'', then 1'8'', etc.). However each use of this also consumes exponentially more energy than the last. (Next growth: +1'8'')
Crystalline Horns
These horns grow several inches from Asier's head. It is largely difficult to use them with how his body is shaped, but headbutting someone would be quite painful, so it offers some utility. Their more notable purpose is storing energy which he can later use in combat or to make other permanent modifications.
Predator's Teeth
Asier has a mouth full of sharp teeth that can easily rip apart flesh if he gets a good bite. Though he usually won't get close enough to put his bite to use, it is now one of the tools in his arsenal.
Crystalline Growths
Asier is capable of storing mystical energy in the form of highly condensed crystal growths that he more often than not projects out of his back. He can repurpose this stored energy into further modifications or temporary boosts in strength when he's stored enough. He currently has a series of small crystals growing out of and along the length of his spine.
Poison Sacs
Asier has poison sacs on his wrists that he can use to coat things in poison, such as his crystalline claws. He can also spray the poison short distances. This poison is a potent neurotoxin that causes a gradual loss of motor control, eventually resulting in its victims convulsing uncontrollably or being paralyzed if they receive a significant enough dose.
Fur Coat
Asier's body is covered in short brown fur. It doesn't provide much use in combat, but it provides him comfort from the elements and resistance to cold environments.
Midnight Wings
Asier has large, midnight black wings growing out of his back. These wings are quite strong, allowing Asier to fly without too much difficulty-- however, while these wings are unfurled, they release an ominous aura that draws the Entity's attention to him, so he always keeps them furled barring emergencies.
The most strange effect of this ability is it gives him brief glimpses into the past or future, though it is completely out of his control and usually vague.
Ability Drawbacks
Asier's visions are completely outside his control, which can lead to confusion, especially if one happens in the heat of battle.
~~~Important Information~~~
Personality
Asier is a fellow that is sometimes hard to read if you don't already know him, holding a passive or stern gaze as his default. In recent times he has opened up however, gaining some humor and mirth to counteract his dour moods. Ultimately he is still a damaged person from his years of captivity and suffering, which will take a long time to heal. He is a determined and resilient person whom finds purpose in the goals he has set for himself, predominantly defying and hunting the vile creatures that the Entity sends out to the world. He values family highly and greatly misses his home, but has also found some solace in his mentor Awaisera. Deep within him he has an urge to explore and learn more about the world, which has made him somewhat restless since he isn't able to leave the Heart of Silva until he grows strong enough to guard himself from the Entity's minions.

History
Early Life and Heritage
The Lelantos tribe-- One of the proudest and most accomplished of the tribes in Arbos. Their people have been deeply involved monster hunters for generations, and their pride over this fact is something they share eagerly. Unlike many tribes whom live in the treetops, the Lelantos tribe is not only migratory but also lives on the ground. There is no fear of monsters, because they are the hunters after all. The Lelantos tribe always follows where the monsters are, and they pride themselves on big game hunting. The Hunt serves not only a practical purpose in the acquisition of food or other materials from monster corpses, but it is also an important sport and show of manhood. The bigger the trophy you bring home, the more you are respected and valued.
Asier was born not only to this revered tribe, but also to the strongest family line in the tribe-- The Ibaiguren. His father, Garaitz Ibaiguren, is one of the most accomplished and capable monster hunters in Sylvia. His largest trophy is a monster skull that is larger than he is, a great horrific creature he hunted on Radix, one of the most dangerous monster realms in the world. Garaitz is old and wise, but more than that, he was a good father. Asier was his eldest son, and as such was expected to carry on his father's legacy. The pressure was on him from a very young age-- People expected him to gain a bonded object quickly. He didn't for a large portion of his childhood and young teen life, however. That didn't worry his father though-- His father didn't bond with his object properly and establish his powers until he was in his early twenties. Late risers weren't uncommon in his family line, and his father above all else was a patient man. Not to mention, one doesn't NEED a bonded object to hunt well, there are several of those hunters in the tribe. That didn't change the expectation for Asier to gain one though. He trained Asier in all the ways of the hunt he knew, and as he grew into a young man Asier took after his father heavily. His wit, determination, and aptitude for the hunt was just as people would expect of an Ibaiguren; there was little doubt he would one day be the next chieftain of the Lelantos tribe.
The White Beast
His bonded object wouldn't come until he was around age seventeen, Asier joining a mission the Lelantos tribe was hire to do. They were transporting goods that were too heavy to transport by air, so it needed defending from the local monsters. Asier's father had planned to personally go on the mission with Asier, but for some reason he had important business that was urgent enough. He still told Asier to go on the mission however, he trusted his son to handle himself. The mission was largely uneventful for most of it, his clansmen doing well to keep the caravan in the proper path to avoid monsters, and silencing the ones that did get curious. It was quick and efficient, the kind of work his people prided themselves on.
But business as usual ended when, with an ear-shattering shriek, a shadow swooped over the caravan-- SMASH the massive monster sent the armoured transport tumbling off the path, rolling onto its side. Asier was lucky to not have been one of the poor bastards that got crushed by the tumbling vehicle. Asier and his clansmen immediately turned to the creature. It was huge, larger than most monsters Asier had seen. He knew there were much, much bigger monsters out there, but this thing wasn't small fry. It was black as midnight and avian in appearance, with claws on the joints of its feathered wings. The creature snapped at the huntsmen, eviscerating some that weren't quick enough to avoid it. The one major fault of the Lelantos tribe is their individualism. Without a clear leader, they didn't naturally work together as they were all individually monster hunters. The men were scattered by the beast, it consuming several men as the hunters had become the hunted. Asier himself was backing up, the monster noticing him and starting to claw its way in his direction. Was this his fate? To be a snack to some horrific corvid monster?
With all the fury of a thunderhead, a blur of pale fur vaulted over Asier's head, the massive white beast pouncing onto the raven monster with a ferocious roar. Pale white energy arced across its fur and danced along its body as it slashed at the creature, fighting with intense ferocity. Having a moment to look at it further, Asier noted the most unique of its features besides the white fur-- It had crystalline features. Four crystalline horns on its head, with crystalline spines along its back ending in a similarly crystalline scorpion tail. The crystal was sky blue, but glowed a bright white when energy was channeled through them. The pale magic of the creature was captivating, to say the least.
In the midst of it fighting the horrific black raven, a surprisingly serene female voice echoed in the back of Asier's mind, <It would be best if you run, humans,> The serenity with which the voice spoke, in spite of the pure fury with which it fought, felt extremely strange in Asier's mind. His fellow huntsmen were quick to take its advice, but Asier was captivated. He felt some strange pull toward the create, and he stood there in a sort of trance, watching it and the raven creature wrestle.
The raven thrashes and gets a lucky shot on the White Beast, its claw shattering one of its horns. With a roar of pain and fury, the White Beast crushes the raven against the ground. The shattered fragments of the horn fly in Asier's direction, one large fragment falling to his feet. Without a second thought, Asier picks up the crystalline shard of the White Beast's horn. Looking up again, he sees the White Beast stab its scorpion tail into the raven monster. Power surged through the crystal, and the raven creature's eyes glowed white, its thrashing speeding up as it wails in agony. Finally, white light begins searing through its plumage, ripping the creature apart from the inside. Backing away slowly from the event, Asier himself finally flees the scene, though the image of the Great White Beast lingered in his mind.
Asier returned home with the rest of his huntsmen and immediately reported to his father what happened. His father was dumbfounded, but glad that Asier had returned alive. He had never in his years heard of a white-furred creature living in Sylvia, and given how long he's been around and how far he's traveled, it was unlikely to say the least that he hadn't seen this creature. He was immediately curious, especially as Asier showed him the crystal fragment of its horn. He let Asier keep the horn, seeing the sort of look in his eye as Asier looks at the fragment. His father set about working with his men, starting to see if they can coordinate and find this 'white beast'. From what Asier guessed, the creature impressed his father and his father would likely try to hunt it. His father was relentless like that.
An Uncanny Bond
Time would go by, and as he went on hunts he always kept the fragment by his side. Sure enough, he eventually bonded with the object, and at around age eighteen he found he was able to temporarily transform parts of his body, making wicked crystal claws. He put them to good use in his hunts, slowly transitioning from his old skills in archery to a much more close and personal combat style. His father was very supportive of Asier, and as a close combat fighter himself, he taught Asier as much as he knew about fighting monsters mano e mano. Those were good days for Asier, hunting with his father and learning more about his developing powers. Eventually he would start to realize he could sense monsters and even feel their feelings when he was near enough. This made it easier for him to fight certain monsters-- It made them more predictable. With this sense of empathy he became better at tracking as well, sensing the mystical energies of monsters. His father was impressed at these powers and every day he encouraged Asier to practice and hone his skills. Asier's father was always pushing him to improve, and within just a year he had become much more adept at wielding his powers.
An event he didn't particularly remember, but became notable later, was shortly after the incident with the White Beast, he was interviewed by members from the people who hired his tribe to protect the caravan. Hearing his tale, they learned he had a piece of the beast's horn, and that he was also bonding with it. He told them about the powers he had developed thus far, and though they were curious, they simply thanked him for his contributions and left. He didn't think much of it, but he had become watched intently from that moment forward.
That's when the most strange and unique part of his powers came in. One day he was eating his dinner like the rest of his family, but his family noticed as silvery streaks began to take form in Asier's hair, slowly spreading from the base all the way to the tips. Asier noticed as well, and was quite confused. After some discussion among his family, they were unsure what to make of the change. The next day however, after he ate lunch, his left eye suddenly shifted from a brown hue to a red hue. His father, spiritually attuned and knowledgeable as he was, was aptly able to decipher that eating monster meat seemed to have an effect on Asier. From that moment his father made sure Asier avoided monster meat until they could understand what that effect was. Asier himself was very confused, but he had to admit he liked the new silvery hair at least.
Abducted
A few weeks later, he was sent out on a hunting trip with one of his friends. They were part of a larger hunting operation but were pairing off. As they walked together, Asier's keen senses swear he could feel the presence of nearby people. Without warning, he felt a prick in his neck. Moving his hand to feel, he felt... A dart? Before he could ponder it further, he felt darkness closing in, until he had passed out.
Asier eventually awoke. Groggily glancing around, he'd not see the natural walls of his home-- But rather the concrete walls of a prison cell. His eyes widen and he jerks awake. What the hell? Where is he?
No sooner did he get his bearings, the cell door opened and two rather burly dudes walked in. They spoke to him bluntly; he was coming with them. He readied himself to fight, but he noticed his horn fragment wasn't on him, so he couldn't access his special powers. He was also still very woozy from the tranquilizer-- The enforces found little difficulty subduing him. He was dragged through several halls and into a deeper, secure compound. There was machinery out and about, strange scientific apparatuses doing who knows what tests. He was eventually brought to a secure room and forced to his knees. A blindfold was placed on him, then he heard footsteps enter the room. What happened next was a bit of... Coercing. Eventually, Asier was forced into a magical geass; he cannot knowingly bring the Brotherhood to harm or reveal their efforts, and they must obey the commands of any Brotherhood Officer.
Suffice it to say, that started a new chapter in Asier's life: A period of time in forced servitude under the Brotherhood. They captured him specifically for his unique abilities, and they were sure to abuse that fact. He was forced to eat monster meat with his horn fragment on multiple occasions and has mutated multiple times over the years, leaving him lopsided and misshapen. Several other experiments were done on him as well, often being quite painful and inhumane. They injected chemicals into him to see if they could control or manipulate his mutations at all; they harvested the crystal from his claws, and then his antlers, in an attempt to study its compounds (To little success, the crystal seems to be averse to intensive study); they subjected him to multiple fights with monsters and hunts to test his strength and take notes on his capabilities; and they even injected monster DNA directly into him. For the most part the DNA tests didn't have a noticeable effect, until one day he was brought into a far more secretive and well defended lab. In which was a doctor and a mysterious, wicked black horn that had a very ominous aura to it. After much discussion among his officers, he was then injected with a sample of the Black Horn's DNA. Unlike the DNA tests before, this one had a noticeable effect on Asier after about a week: He felt more on edge, more energized if you will. He felt more in tune with his instincts and his reaction times increased. He generally felt more powerful, at least in terms of his mental state. For the many years he was there he had suppressed his urges to leave, but this had reignited that spark. Asier craved freedom, he NEEDED it. And soon enough, he would get it.
In the weeks following the Black Horn Experiment, Asier would also experience strange effects in his spiritual insight. He began to see random flashes of the future, small hints at what was to come. Or was it the past? Perhaps a present event he was divining? He couldn't tell, and it often confused him. Moreover he felt more connected to the world around him, and he had begun to be able to get a sense of how powerful monsters are as he approaches them. Even in his dreams he saw things, things he didn't fully understand. He's seen the White Beast in his dreams multiple times before, but he was seeing it almost nightly now. He felt more obsessed over finding it now than ever...
Freedom
A couple months after the Black Horn Experiment, Asier was on a hunt with a group of Brotherhood soldiers keeping an eye on him. It was a standard procedure to test his capabilities, he hunts like this almost once a week. Something about the air felt foul to Asier, though. He could feel it, an ominous presence, a FAMILIAR presence. Turning his eye to the skies, he would noticed the black pall of wing flaps as a creature he hadn't seen in half a decade was bearing down on the group. The soldiers immediately sprung to action-- And were subsequently knocked asunder as the powerful raven beast screeched and led the offensive. Before he could even issue a command, the commanding officer was crushed and eviscerated by the beast, and it was likely his men would soon follow. He could practically smell it-- This beast was powerful, and moreover something about it was uncanny to him. It felt vile to even look at, like a spiritual black spot as it consumed his 'brethren'. He then made a realization. His captain hadn't issued a command. He had... Free choice.
And with the soldiers rapidly meeting their ends, Asier knew what choice he would make.
He ran. The sounds of bloody murder faded behind him as he dove into the underbrush, immediately trying to make sure he was concealed as much as possible so the vile fiend couldn't find him. He hadn't felt this sick to his stomach in a long time, and he certainly didn't feel that way when he saw this creature last. Wait, this couldn't be the same creature, the White Beast killed it... Are there more?
This thought worried Asier deeply as he brushed himself off. He was... Free. Freedom had finally come. He could barely believe it, he felt like he was in a dream. What... Do I do now?
Without much to go on, Asier set into his instincts and began to forage for food and get some shelter in order. His family line was all survivors, and he was no exception. Wherever his path leads him now... He must be ready.
