Name: Claire Rousseau
Age: 27
Gender: Female
Birthplace: France
Faction: AEUG
Rank: Lieutenant
Appearance:
Claire is 5'7", somewhat on the pale side with a slender body. She has short jet black hair with her hair cut into bob with somewhat long bangs on the side. Claire has sharp blue eyes, they display her experience and intensity... some say she had the eyes of a predatory animal. For clothing she tends to wear gender neutral articles, avoiding skirts and dresses as much as she can.
Personality: Claire is a somewhat serious woman with some intensity. She is extremely opposed to the way the Earth is being treated, seeing the ravages of both war and greed take its toll. At heart she is a kind person, but isn't afraid to give someone tough love or a unfiltered opinion if it meant talking them into or out of something. Claire has first hand experience in both using out of the box tactics and normal tactics which she applies to her position in the AEUG
History:
Claire was born and raised in France but left at an early age to become an engineer. Her profession would take her into space, in the months leading up to the One Year War she worked at Anaheim Electronics. When the war broke out, she quit to join the Earth Federation Forces. At first they had her working as a military inspector at an armored weapon factory. But in June she was assigned to Anaheim to help reverse engineer Zakus and apply the concepts to the Federation's Mobile Suit project. She even piloted some of the early GM prototypes before the Federation settled on the final design. After the GM project was finished and they were starting to be deployed in late September, Claire found herself returning home to France. She would serve as the senior mechanic for a base operating in France. This base fell apart when the Operation to attack Odessa occurred, the Zeon base at Marseilles launched a sneak attack. As the Federation base was torn apart by artillery, everyone grabbed what they could and fled to avoid being killed. Claire was running a software check in one of the Mobile Suits when the attack began, she managed to protect the other suits while their pilots or fellow mechanics took them out to prevent their destruction.
Once all of the survivors met up, Claire soon found herself flung into a position of military authority. The commander was badly wounded and the XO had been killed in one of the first few volleys. The Commander put the next highest ranking officer in charge, putting Claire as the executive officer under a full Lieutenant. After burying the dead, the new leader decided to relocate to what was left of Lyons as a temporary base. But it wasn't temporary, in the rubble of Lyons they dug in and established a new base. While a majority of the forces were being deployed into space or mopping up Zeons in Asia, Claire and her group were busy fighting in southern France. Their machines were strained, spares were low... reinforcements came but foolishly attacked the entrenched Zeons. They were nearly annihilated, the survivors routed by a powerful beam weapon. In their possession was a ground type Gundam, damaged but workable. Clair and what was left of the mechanics managed to fix it and add a bit extra. As the Zeon fortresses in space fell, so did the armored beam artillery built on the Mediterranean's shore. In a guerilla attack, Clair and her group assaulted the Zeons from their unguarded flank towards Monaco. Some surrendered, but much of their remaining forces were taken out in the surprise attack.
In the months afterward much of Claire's time was spent on the moon working with Anaheim as a specialist analyzing various recovered Zeon machines. She wasn't privy to the gundams being built for specializations before Operation Stardust, but was there for the horror of watching a colony fly over Von Braun. Claire made inquiries into the project afterwards, but was quickly shutdown. By the rise of the Titans, she had a bit of hope that future acts of terrorism would be prevented. But a year later that hope vanished... she saw their brutality in person. An coworker beaten almost to death under suspicion of being a spy. It was nothing more than a uncontrolled witch-hunt against spacenoids. Claire stayed on-board with the normal forces despite being offered a position on Green Noa 2 as a technical engineer. She ultimately wanted to sabotage the Titan's military production, but was stopped by a friend who gave her a someone to contact about her grievances. Claire expected it to be a psychologist or something, extremely surprised when it was a meeting to induct people into an organization known as the Anti Earth Union Group. At first she was prepared to raise the alarm, thinking them as a terrorist organization. But after talking with several people that had left the Federation forces, she was convinced to quit her job and join.
