Crew InformationCrew Name: The Gear Pirates A gang of pirates who have been under Marine slavery and menial labor-forces, they liberated themselves from the colony they were imprisoned upon, and made a name of themselves by ravaging the North Blue and ransacking/scavenging any shipwrecks they come across, with their captain using his Devil Fruit powers to constantly improve and make add-ons to their flagship. They are also quite infamous for targeting marine frigates and assimilating them into their design as well. Flag: A black flag with a sideways-facing white orca head over a brass-colored gear Captain: Punk "Killer Punk" Reille Members: Currently 35 members strong (5 named crewmates) (30 unnamed grunts) Crew Logs: Ship Description: The Huntsman
A modified marine frigate that was commandeered by Punk Reille and the few escapees of the marine colony he escaped from, as they now use it as their base of operation and primary vessel. It sports a reinforced hull thanks to Punk's utilization of his Devil Fruit powers on raided ships, slowly adding onto his own vessel, and modifying it. It features a large, harpoon-shaped figurehead that is useful in full frontal ramming of other ships, capability of housing 8 cannons on either side of the ship's hull, and an automated rowing system in place of relying purely on manpower that regular marine vessels do. It houses several private cabins for Punk's most trusted crewmates, Inventory: A list of any items or treasure that the crew can use. From log poses, to communicator snails, or even extra gear or berries and gems. If you think it's worth something, then it goes here. Relationships:

NPC PiratesNames: Muray | "Slick-Blade" Role: First Mate - Swordsman Race: Fishman (Eel) Gender: Male Age: 25 Bounty: 140,000 Beli -- Responsible for the death of an entire marine squad of 20+ men -- Association with the Gear Pirates -- Escapee Physical Description: -- 6'4 in height, misty blue skin with pointed ears, sharp fangs, yellow eyes and white hair -- Dresses in white undershirt beneath a blue kimono shirt, and wears grey hakama trousers -- Has a long, strong eel-tail -- His left wrist and right wrist + hand are bandaged up to conceal brands meant to signify he was a slave-to-trade General Personality: -- Being the youngest crewmate, he is quite optimistic and casual most of the time, opting to be the crew's source of positivity along with their cook -- He has a strong sense of duty and loyalty towards Punk, his captain, due to both of them being fish-men, and the fact that Punk was the one who personally freed him from his shackles, along with the crew's sniper Combat Style: His only piece of equipment is a sword only known as "Current", referring to currents of water. It is a katana-blade that has a dull sheen to its blade, and a handle wrapped in blue cloth over the black handle. The blade is constantly seen dripping with water, which is a nod to his combat style. Muray has a unique fighting style known as "Fishman Zanjutsu", which is similar to Karate and Jujutsu in terms of the manipulation of bodies of water, though it is solely done through his blade. Nagarekiri (Flowing Cut) - Cuts an arc through the air and creates a thin, razorsharp arc of water that is sent at a target, aiming to cut it open. Mangetsu Nagare (Full Moon Flow) - Swinging one's sword in a circle around one's self, the user creates a full circle of water that slightly extends outward to cut and push back nearby foes. Akinagare (Fall Flow) - Slashing one'd blade firmly downward, the user creates a temporary 'wall' of water to block or dampen the impact of an attack. Devil Fruits: N/A Known History: He was sent to the Gearile Island colony as punishment for his crimes of wiping out a marine squad of 20 or more men, and was more or less treated as nothing but labor force. He was later freed by Punk Reille and taken aboard his crew, and now acts as his first mate and swordsman. Names: Betsy | "Wild-Gun" Role: Sniper | Martial Artist Race: Human Gender: Female Age: 27 Bounty(For Pirates): 76,000 Beli -- Weapon theft/smuggling -- Resisting arrest and detainment -- Association with the Gear Pirates -- Escapee Physical Description: -- Dark-skinned with red fingernails, brown eyes, and long black hair tied up in stylish braids. 5'6 tall. -- Dresses in Western-esque attire, with a white/black shirt and black pants with only a left pant-leg. Right leg is missing from the knee-cap down, and is replaced by a custom shotgun prosthesis crafted by Punk Reille and his Devil Fruit. General Personality: She is more than often the reserved and quiet kind of girl, not really getting too 'dramatic' in social situations and is very emotionally 'cold' in contrast to others of the crew. She just has a hard time expressing emotions thanks to her time in the colony, especially after losing her leg as an excessively crude punishment by the colony's foreman. However, she becomes more emotionally open when she speaks to her captain, as Punk was the one who personally rescued her, but also used his Devil Fruit to provide her with her prosthesis. Combat Style: Betsy, being the crew's sniper, is more than adapt at fighting off enemies at a distance, and typically wields a dual pair of pistols when fending off enemies from afar, with near-deadly precision. However, she also thrives in the heat of battle, being a martial artist with a very unique fighting style invented by her; a style she likes to call "Tae Gun Do", which is a martial art that employs a lot of kicks and gunplay up-close and personal. The addition of her shotgun leg prosthesis has only amplified this fighting style of hers, allowing for even more creative moves and techniques. Shell Knee - A technique which has Betsy fire off a shell from her prosthesis and propel her leg upwards into a firm and deadly knee-jab. Blast Kick - A technique in which Betsy will slam the end of her gun-leg into the opponent, and fire off a point-blank shot into them. She also often uses the blast to propel herself backwards and reposition herself afterwards. Shot Lock - Betsy will launch herself at the opponent and fire off both shells from her gun-leg, causing it to cock open and bend, upon which she'll use it to lock around an opponent's neck or limb, and use the momentum to grapple and throw her opponent to the ground. Devil Fruits: N/A Known History: Betsy's history is quite vague and unknown, as all she has stated to her captain is that she is from a vast country of sand, and she has been a thief since birth, and not by choice. She was picked up by bandits who used her as a weapon smuggling asset, but she got caught and transferred to Gearile Island where she was imprisoned, and then later rescued by Punk Reille. Names: Guryu | "Killer Chef" Role: Cook Race: Fishman (Orca) Gender: Male Age: 36 Bounty(For Pirates): 40,000 Beli -- Association with the Gear Pirates -- Escapee Physical Description: -- Blue-and-white skin and yellow eyes. Scarred face and dorsal fin. Roughly 8 feet tall. -- Beige shirt and black pants, overlapped by a brown apron and several satchels and bags strapped to a black belt, filled with cooking utensils, spices and the like. Often wears a red bandanna strapped over his head. General Personality: Guryu is a cheerful and jovial character most of the time, preferring to see the positive in things rather than the negatives. He is without a doubt the crew's greatest source of optimism, and Punk himself has agreed that without Guryu, their morale would've sunk the moment they set out on the North Blue. But he does grow serious when the time calls for it. He has had a lot of influence on Muray, the crew's first mate, seeing as how he's the youngest and most impressionable. Guryu is also a man of dedication, and will put no less than 100% into anything he does, and has a catchphrase he likes to use, which is to "do it with a hearty serving!", which he means is to just put your whole being into whatever it is you're doing. Combat Style: While not as combat-oriented as most of the crew, Guryu knows how to defend himself when it comes to it. His immense size and physical strength alone can keep him safe for as long as he needs to, and he will not shy away from using his cooking utensils as weapons if the situation is truly dire. He'll mostly be up front and in the enemy's face, tossing them around with his strength, or subduing them with his size and weight, whichever is more preferable. Devil Fruits: N/A Known History: Guryu is apparently just another poor victim of the World Government's disdain and mistreatment of the Fishmen people, apparently having been caught in a raid on another Fishman ship and taken to Gearile Island to be made a prisoner, forced to work in the colony's canteen. He was later liberated by Punk during his riot, and has served as the crew's cook ever since. Names: Nabaru | "Ocean Guide" Role: Navigator | Chronicler Race: Fishman (Octopus) Gender: Male Age: 40 Bounty(For Pirates): 80,000 Beli -- Aiding of pirates (Ocean maps) -- Illegal Production/Distribution (Ocean maps) -- Association with the Gear Pirates -- Escapee Physical Description: -- Roughly 7 feet tall (About 9.5 if he hoists himself up on all tentacles). Blue-skinned body and hefty frame. Webbed hands. -- Dresses primarily in leather vests and loincloths, with a red bandanna over his forehead. Behind is a brand burnt into his forehead, which is a mark of slavery. General Personality: Nabaru is the typical "grumpy old man" of the crew, mainly because of his earlier predicaments with human pirate crews he's tried to aid for a pretty penny. He has been double-crossed and paid short a lot of times, leaving him very distrustful of humans, but has at least come to trust their sniper enough. He is stubborn to a fault at times, especially when it comes to someone questioning his mapping skills, which he holds in high regard. But deep down he is still a really proud and loyal soul, and would rather be tossed into Impel Down than sell out one of his crewmates. Combat Style: He is not particularly suited for combat, but uses his custom-designed bo staff for self-defense if he truly needs it. As he is an octopus-based Fishman, too, he can squirt out ink at his assailants to blind and throw them off, leaving him with time to escape or take cover. Devil Fruits: N/A Known History: Not much is known, other than the fact that he was known for aiding pirate crews with making maps of dangerous ocean currents and personally guiding them on their journeys. He has told several tales of being double-crossed by some crews though, and the latest one had him end up on Gearile Island's prison colony, where he was later rescued by Punk Reille, and brought onto his crew. Names: Taizon | "The Iron Hammer" Role: Blacksmith | Quartermaster Race: Fishman Gender: Male Age: Early 50s Bounty(For Pirates): 100,000 Beli -- Assault on Marine Officer -- Sabotage of Marine Equipment -- Association with the Gear Pirates -- Escapee Physical Description: -- Pale yellow-colored skin and fins with a white beard and mustache growing. Left eye gravely injured and covered up with eye-patch. Roughly 6 feet tall. -- Dresses in a stolen marine outfit, refitted for his size, colored brown and red with a thick leather belt on the waist. Usually wields a large, crude hammer as his weapon/tool of choice. General Personality: Whereas Nabaru just feels like a grumpy old man most of the time, Taizon is effectively more akin to a drill sergeant that is all about being stern and commanding, more likely to be found barking orders than anything. He is a fishman who has seen a lot in his life, and his experience clearly shows whenever he goes into action. He is not stern to the point of callousness, however, as he takes great pride in making sure his crew is safe and armed up for any encounter they might be facing. But at the end of the day, he is still very much a no-nonsense kind of guy, who'd rather keep things straight-forward and blunt, rather than dilute it all in pretty words. Combat Style: Despite being labeled as a mere blacksmith, it does Taizon a great disservice to imply that he's got no fighting capabilities. As he says himself; "Sometimes you gotta put your own craft into practice to see if it works!" So he is a brutish, straight-forward frontline fighter, focusing on running in and causing as much damage and havoc as he can, usually backed up by other frontline fighters like Muray. His "Ol' Trusty Whack-Stick" is his main weapon, which is a reinforced mallet-like hammer that he uses both for combat and smithing, and it has served him for many weeks upon the open sea since his rescue. Devil Fruits: N/A Known History: Taizon was known for being a rowdy and reckless fishman, to the point where he had once set out to sea solely to seek out marines to fight after a much recent raid on his hometown. He struck down the leading officer of a marine ship that he came across, before he was chained up and taken to Gearile Island's prison colony, and forced to make machinery and equipment for the marines (some of which he deliberately sabotaged as well, only adding to his sentence). When the riot of Punk Reille began, Taizon was quick to offer his services to the fellow fishman, and he joined up as the Gear Pirates' blacksmith and quartermaster.
