"Thank you, I understand." Serenity took the itinerary and looked on as the other students did their level best. It was odd having been raised, groomed, to be the best and now being put in a place to prove that Serenity didn't feel that confident, not because she doubted herself but because the world was so much wider than a single city, a single agency, a single house where she stood at the second position. If she was going to distinguish herself from her Father, if she was going to take the number one spot, this was where it would start.
Stepping up to the long jump she braced herself on the ground getting into a track running position bending her knee and raising her hips before pushing off and activating her quirk leaving a slowly evaporating trail behind her as she put her foot down and kicked with the full momentum of the start to glide forward, she had to reapply her foot using the right foot to apply a coating of Shadow Slick onto the ground while she balanced on her left foot but she slid down the track until getting to the end of the running strip. Crouching down she gathered her strength and hardened the slick on her soles creating a small hump to function like a ramp before sailing off into the sand pit. She was light and lithe enough that she could plant her feet near the end of the sand pit. Landing with a puff of dust she cleaned herself off before heading to the next area, not terribly interested in hearing the results of her attempts.
The high jump was perhaps the trickiest of the challenges, she could go fast, and she could jump far, but height was not something her quirk was adapted for losing solidity when it got too far away from the surface of her body. She was happy it was a sunny day otherwise this would have been a disappointing series of tests. UA was an advanced institution so of course they weren't doing anything as primitive as a pole with mats, sensors could judge how high the student jumped and simulate a bar they would hit. So she didn't have to worry about knocking anything over. She ran towards the point and sprang up using her quirk in a similar way to how she did the long jump but instead of making a temporary ramp she used the momentary firmness of her quirk to form platforms mid jump and push off to propel herself higher requiring immediate reaction as the platform both dissipated the moment it left her foot and only remained solid enough to gain momentum for a second after creation, a moment too late and she would basically be stepping in mud. Once she got a decent enough height she turned her body back around clearing the imaginary bar and landing in the three point super hero pose her father was famous for, without accounting that he had padded armor and she didn't banging her knee on impact causing her to tense up before slowly crawling to her feet.
The last trial was by far the easiest, her earlier applications of her quirk were all about increasing velocity through application of low friction and inertia, it was fair to say her specialty was speed so a flat run over 50m was no hassle to her but Serenity didn't want to coast either literally or figuratively she was there to climb so she pushed her quirk to its maximum forming cleat like spikes on the bottom of her feet and holding them as she sprinted down the track pushing herself to run faster than she had unafraid of losing her traction due to her increased grip.
When she finished she joined her fellow students awaiting the others at first quietly approaching them. "You... did great." She tried to start a conversation unsure of who to address so she figured a universal congratulations would be the most effective.

Heh. Agility, huh? Well, lucky for him (and perhaps a bit unfair) he had his Mutation Quirk that could easily aid him in all three of these. So, with a few stretches of his arms and legs, and a few test-flaps with his wings -- also to limber those up -- he'd start his own run right after Serenity.
Long Jump!
"CLEARED!"
The robot calls out as Yoru just sweeps over the long jump pit, landing right on the other side with one dash into the air, bouncing on his feet a bit as he'd prepare for the next bit;
High Jump!
"10 meters!"
And that was in a single take-off straight up into the air, his wings kicking up dust as he'd flap himself upwards and stay in the air for a bit to do a pose with his wings, before gliding himself back down. Now the only thing left was;
50m Dash!
"5.5 seconds!"
Whilst he was not as rapid as some other students, most notably Kitana, he still felt like it was a decent time to score, as he had just flown straight across the dash track, dusting his wings off afterwards and rolling his shoulders to loosen them up. He was done with his trials for now, so let's see what was next in store.

Last but not least was Hihoshi who had kept a low profile all this time. maybe that was her real quirk. But nope. Her real quirk was going to be put into motion. Today was going to be an effort-filled day. She sighed. Her donkey ears fwipped as she did her stretches and wrung her hands a couple of times. After this, she would get to rest.Boy, that rest was gonna be earned! Everyone else was working hard, no reason for her not to give it her all as well.
One quick look at the long jump and she knew how to clear this easily. She waved her arm and two chains emerged at the sides of the starting point. Those sets of chains seemed to float in place in the air as the donkey gal raced toward them. The moment they were within reach, she yanked on both chains and pulled herself forward to perform a most graceful long jump- WERE HER EYES CLOSED WHILE DOING THIS!? and cleared it as her feet planted themselves a little bit past the goal.
The high jump was next and she was unsure about this one. How high could she jump? She never really tried. But she saw others using their quirk to gain some extra air so why not her? More effort. She relished the chance to put in more effort. "Alright, big guy...let's get ourselves up there." she murmured to behind her. Though clearly, nothing was behind her. Not yet. A figure appeared behind her that looked to be quite burly and had chains wrapped around him. His palms raised up and chains shot up from the ground while Hihoshi pumped her legs and jumped as high as she could then tucked her legs in, grabbing on to the chains that arose. She didn't use her legs and instead alternated between her arms to rise higher and higher with momentum alone until she reached a height she thought was her limit.
"26 meters"
Hihoshi gave an impressed whistle as she felt the momentum stop and knew she'd be plummeting soon....if it wasn't for the chains now descending back into the ground as she held onto them allowing her to land safely back down with a little grunt of effort. She rotated her arms and grunted, as they were feeling slightly sore from that but it didn't seem to bother her at all. The figure seemed to give everyone a look before vanishing.
Finally, the fifty meter dash. She was plenty fast on her own but she knew she could go even faster if need be. She gave a quick whistle and behind her once again was the figure from before. He wasted no time in propelling a chain forward across the field and into a nearby building. Hihoshi nodded. That was his limit. But that didn't matter. She grasped onto the chain, did a hop and immediately the chain retracted seemingly into the wall it was latched onto. yet,no damage was being done to it. Instead, it was like it was vanishing INTO it while pulling Hihoshi rapidly. She looked quite happy as she was being pulled along but now her body was about to hit the ground to cause traction...until she kicked off the ground to propel herself up and forward straight into the goal.
"3.8 seconds!"
She let go of the chain and watched the rest vanish alongside that burly chained figure once more. SHe place her hands on her hips, walked over to everyone else, and dropped down to sit with one knee raised, looking mighty proud of herself. "Good hustle out there, Umi!" she'd praise, giving her a thumbs up. It was a shame Miyuki didn't show up but that was okay.

Kozue stroked her chin as she watched her classmates engage in the agility test. She had deliberately let others go before her so she could get an idea of what she's working with. As each classmate took their turn her face slowly grew more and more scrunched up in thoughts as she felt a twinge of something building in her chest. What was this feeling? Is it...
Doubt.
What? Nooo, impossible, she hasn't doubted herself before. Clearly this is a wrong assertion, it must be some other feeling. Like... Anger! Yeah, anger's better, sort of. The competitive part of her was certainly feeling a little like all of her classmates are getting by on cheap tricks. But no, using your quirk to do things is kind of the whole point of these tests. Even if it feels cheap, this is just how things are. But Kozue doesn't have any tricks to get by other than her own sheer athleticism. Come on, Kozue, let's show these people that you're up to par!
She steps up to the long jump and takes a careful breath. You've practiced this before, it's just like back in middle school. Breathe. Focus...
She breaks out into a running start and then leaps deftly. Posture perfect, don't look down, knees to chest and extend!
"Cleared!"
She lands with practiced grace and quickly stands to dust herself off. See? Textbook, just like that! Now the high jump. She was a record setter in her school for this, being the only girl in the school to clear six feet in height. It was impressive... For a regular person. Once again that creeping feeling in her chest bubbled up. Enough! There's no room for doubt, only action. She poises, and then springs up. Come on, you got this!
"1.83 Meters!"
Damn it! Just shy of her personal best. At least she still got six feet again, just barely... And yet she is still multiple meters behind everybody else. She grumbles to herself but takes a deep breath. It's okay, you can show them on the 50 meter. She walks up to the starting line, and her mind lingers back to her past. She had been running since before she was even in school, and her speed always impressed her parents. She made them proud as she went into school PE and showed even the boys who was boss. Every day she practiced, even when she was sick! Besides her appearance, this is her greatest pride. She narrows her eyes and crouches down to a ready position. Do it, Kozue. Go!
She launches from the start with a perfect dismount and runs like her life depends on it. The feeling of the air on her skin, the way her hair waves from the swiftness of her stride. In these few moments, the feelings in her chest quieted and she was in the fleeting bliss of the moment.
"5.71 Seconds!"
She's snapped from her determination as the score is read out and she comes to a stop. She takes in a few sharp breaths, then clenches her fists. She had managed to beat her personal best by a tenth of a second, but that small victory was overshadowed by a far more overwhelming sensation of dread. All her life she had dedicated herself to this, to be the best athlete she could be. The countless hours of practice, sweat and tears... And she was still, other than Umi, the slowest person in the class. She wanted to kick something. She wanted to scream. She wanted to demand a retry. She wanted to challenge her associates to beat that score quirkless. She wanted to say a million things, but all she did was return to the line in silence...

The differences were noticeable between classes. Brine had surmised as much, but the gap was as wide as he'd assumed. 1a seemed hell-bent on one-upping one another, while these kids showed a bit more camaraderie. There was skill, advantages and disadvantages, things that were apparent for every class. He'd jot down some details for those who struggled in this agility portion. Equally, he'd make remarks on those who did well. Injuries? There was Kitana and Zenjia. He'd offer the help, of course. Robos would arrive at their side with a tank of water that would immediately begin foaming once the good doctor stepped in close. She could stick her feet in the healing solution whilst the other kids finished up this round. His eyes were judgmental, but still somewhat kind. Agility 1st Kitana 3rd Zenjia 5th Serenity 7th Umi
2nd Hihoshi 4th Yoru 6th Kozue The ranks were quite tight in the middle, but the gap between leader and last place was quite far. Brine hoped these numbers would motivate the kids to kick thing into a higher gear for the next portion. Next on the list was strength! Brine rattled the excercises off. "Strength is a hard portion. Push up, sit ups, Grip Test, and then the fun part, Cement Block Bust" He pointed to the large cubes of cement being rolled in. Honestly, what was the budget for this school?Anyway, Brine- "Anyway! When you're ready to begin a radar robo will measure your results."

Yoru smirked a bit as he saw his ranking. A perfectly decent spot, if he said so himself. Not great, but not awful. But as soon as he heard what the next part of the assessments were, he'd balk slightly, eye twitching as he looked over to Mr. Brine, or at least where he was located. Strength? With his spindly limbs and average physique? He almost wanted to tap out, but he remembered what he and his father had talked about the other day... he would not give up. He'd sigh, rubbing his neck a bit as he went up to do his best.
Push Ups!
"Fifteen Push Ups!"
Already, Yoru felt like his body was giving in on him, as he'd shiver and sweat while getting up from the mat, his arms aching. But he knew he had to keep going to the next bit. After a bit of a breather, and fanning himself with one of his wings, he'd be ready soon enough.
Sit Ups!
"Thirteen Sit Ups!"
Damn it, he was still aching a bit from the push ups, and he was wheezing a bit from the strain he had put on himself. Still, he kept on going, after another quick breather of course.
Grip Test!
"98 lbs!"
Huh, so his grip strength was only below average? Well, with him being a bat and all, it kind of made sense to have some gripping power. He had picked up those robots with relative ease after all.
Cement Block Bust!
And then, the final bit... he'd stare at the cube of cement in front of him, honestly wondering if he should even bother? It looked so damn solid, there was no way he was going to chop that thing in half! What was Brine expecting of him?! But then he thought back again... he had smashed up robots with his feet and legs. And the assessment never SPECIFIED if it had to be done with hands or feet. So, taking a shot at it, he'd nod firmly as he flapped his wings, performed a front-flip wheel in mid-air, bringing his heel down on the cement block, and--
"CLEAR!"
He had smashed the thing clear in half, with some fragments scattering here and there from the impact. He'd hop for a bit on one leg, his heel feeling rather raw, but he'd still stare in slight disbelief, but also joy. Damn, he actually did it! But those scores on the Push- and Sit Ups would definitely dig into his spot on the board, for sure...

Strength? Umi was ready for this! She started with her weakest. Sit-ups were very difficult, considering her, ah, build. She managed to get seven, and it was a hard seven. Still, she was undeterred. Umi's next goal was push-ups, and while her weight and size might have been considerably grander than the rest of her class, her strength was also not to be sniffed at!
"Sixty five!"
Umi was beaming as she rose to her feet. Her next test was the grip strength, and she closed her eyes as she focused. Clenched her jaw, tightened her grip, and...
"Eight hundred and six pounds!"
Umi finally walked across to the cement block. She was feeling so confident now, her show of strength pumping her blood with adrenaline. The whale girl took a deep breath, then spun with surprise speed, lashing out with her great tail. It struck the block and shattered it with a noise like thunder, scattering cement blocks (away from her classmates, of course). As she stepped back towards her classmates, Umi gave them all a wide, infectioi s smile. She had done well!

Daichi watched as the others did their best and gave it their all, then stared at the track infront of him for a moment. After a minute he took the time to send a text and thank god that his family lived within walking distance of the school. He ended up going last since he purposefully waited for his 'ride,' but eventually the unbelievable large dog that some of his classmates may remember from the exam sniffed out his master's brother and came bounding over with a big panting smile and fast wagging tail. The omniglot pat the hound's head but didn't let him gt distracted with conversation before he could point out the track and give a short (very short) explanation of what he had to do. He also had to give a short explanation of why this isn't cheating before Akuma allowed him to climb onto his back. The central asian sheperd dog easily held the student's small, 85 lb frame and dashed the 50 meters with no problem. He even still seemed hyper after the fact and hopped back and forth wanting to play more. Luckily, he was still needed as the dog could also was able to clear the long jump and leap 2.1336 meters into the air with Daichi on his back no problem. Daichi had much more trouble holding on though, and looked sick for a minute after.
Then came the strength test, where Daichi's actual problems became apparent as there wasn't many ways he could have an animal help him do push ups and sit ups. He only managed three sit ups with obvious, extreme strain and got one push up off before his arms slowly slid out from under him leaving him with his face in the dirt. Akuma's encouraging cheering really only made his head ache worse and he took a minute to take a painkiller before looking over at the grip test. This, luckily, his hound to help with, as he put the grip in the dog's mouth who promptly chomped down and... broke it... oops. Maybe using a dog with a bite force of 500 to 650 pounds per square inch for this wasn't that smart. He made a note to pay Dr. Brine for a replacement later.
The cement block test was another one he had a hard time thinking of a solution for. Akuma was strong, but it wasn't really feasable for him to break bricks without hands. Try as he might he couldn't think of anyone that lived near by who could help. Akuma also was coming up blank. Then he looked up and saw some birds flying by. He grabbed his megaphone and, after taking the time to flip into chipping, called out to them to ask if they knew of anyone that could help out. One seemed to have an idea but said it would take a good thirty minutes for them to get there. Daichi agreed even though he wasn't sure if taking half an hour for this one thing was okay, but he was pretty sure it was fine. Sure enough, 30 minutes later, a 140 centimeter, 120 kilogram Japanese black bear slowly made his way over to Daichi with the bird from earlier on it's head. He wasn't expected that for sure, but it would work. The omniglot explained the situation and agreed that what the bird said about food in return was true. With the promise of a meal, the bear smashed the block with ease.
The bird apparently was one that had helped with the exam, so Daichi asked her to lead the large mammal to his place. His family would know what to do from there. He gave a nod and a wave as they left and then meandered his way over to the others to the others to wait for the next test to start. Akuma also came over and started sniffing around at the other students and Dr. Brine, excited by the new people.

Now came the portion of the test Kitana was dreading. As a mutant her body was somewhat more athletic by default than your standard baseline human, but she was still no bodybuilder by any stretch of the imagination. What muscles she had were optimized for agility and endurance, not raw power. It was something she was going to need to figure out how to deal with over the coming years. At least she had some workarounds already though. She was never going to have raw power like Sicily unless her body started to mutate even more as she grew... but she had her own tricks.
Push ups
First up was push ups, which her quirk was quite helpful for. By lightening her body with her quirk, the amount of effort needed to push herself up and down was minimal. She flew through them doing close to a thousand before she slipped up and pushed off the ground a bit too hard, launching her a bit into the air. That ended up counting as a failure as it caught her off guard and caused her to break form. Still, an impressive showing from a girl who definitely didn't look like a physical powerhouse... if you ignored the embarrassing display of her crying out in surprise, flailing about in the air, and landing on all fours with her fur standing up on its end from the fear and adrenaline of her unexpected skyward excursion.
Sit ups
Similar to the push ups, Kitana used her quirk to make herself so light that doing the situps required next to no effort from her. This different exercise was better suited to avoid slip ups like in the push up test, and after that incident with the push ups Kitana went slower and more carefully. After breaking a thousand sit ups she looked to the robot counting
"I can do this for hours... not that I'm not curious how long I can hold this but..." Kitana said sheepishly between situps
"Uh... right, Infinity!"
Grip strength
Kitana sighed as she picked up the grip strength device. She had a "cheat" for the other tests by messing with her weight, but here she was out of options. Even reducing the weight/mass of the testing device wouldn't help improve how tightly she could grip it by more than a fractional amount. There was no workaround this time, just relying on her physical strength
"63lbs!"
Not a terrible showing, on the upper end of average for her age and build. It was stronger than most non-mutants her age, but since her mutations weren't strength based there were plenty of girls her age who could outperform her if they were particularly athletic, with or without a quirk aiding them. Still, she wasn't weak, she figured her other scores would compensate for this little dip in her performance.
Cement Block
Kitana cracked her knuckles as she approached her cement block, deciding how best to deal with it. Ideally there would've been another solid object close by to just throw the block into before it lost too much momentum from her using her quirk to throw it, but there wasn't anything but the ground. She'd have to get a little bit creative if she wanted to properly break it. She had two options here, throw it upwards at an angle and rely on it falling to the ground to shatter it, or the more challenging but reliable method she settled on.
Grabbing the block she used her quirk and jumped up, launching both her and her block up into the air a few dozen feet. Once up there she recalculated and used her object throwing trick with her quirk to launch the block back down at the ground at high speed, shattering it into tiny pieces
"CLEAR"
Of course the issue here was landing. She hadn't gone as high as for the high jump though so while the landing wasn't pleasant by any means, she was able to walk it off. And since throwing objects around with her quirk didn't trigger her nausea like moving her body did, she even managed to look like her quirk mastery was quite a bit higher than what it was. She was happy with the result, even as her legs wobbled a bit from the impact of landing on the ground.

Zenjia felt good as the results came up. against mutants and the fact that she had messed up, taking the bronze was acceptable. that wasn't to say she wasn't going to shoot for the gold next year, but she knew that it was something that was definitely possible to do. she gave Kitana a high five as she finished up the healing process just in time for the next test but a return of a specific animal had gotten her attention.
Zenjia kept her distance from the animal, more feeling guilty for kicking it (even though in the heat of the moment, she didn't think about tags and such) she knew now that it was just trying to help, but she still was predisposed against dogs. She watched as Daichi did his tests and then, came the strength test too which is where things got truly ridiculous. the bird was fine but the gorilla?
She was definitely not going to be anywhere near that thing, and she was waiting for it to begone. hopefully, it wouldn't have to stick around for too long, and being preoccupied with the wild creature made her forget that she had to take the test herself entirely!
she felt awkward, though she knew exactly what she was doing. she didn't need much assistance from her quirk for these tests, not that there was much she could do to cheat the strength tests to begin with. While in no way she could compete with Kitanas scores (cheater!) she could definitely hold her own.
getting in position, she took a deep breath and started the pushups with ease. she didnt go to terribly fast, so that she wouldn't burn out and it seemed that she could go on for a long time, doing several dozen before she had started to slow down. eventually, she would tire out and plop onto the ground as rested, getting ready for the next portion of the strength test.
EIGHTY-FOUR PUSHUPS
the robot yelled as Zenjia took a deep breath after a few seconds of rest, getting into position for the sit-ups. these seemed to be just as easy for her, as the push ups were. a testament to the girls strength considering she didn't have a quirk that enhanced that specific physical ability.
"106, 107... 108... 109... 1..10 hah!"
she exclaimed as she had let out the last few sit-ups before laying down on the ground. a personal best for her, that's 10 more than she was able to have done the last time! she was sure proud of herself. next though, would be the grip test though... she wasn't going to be using her own grip for this nope! she had some left over blood from her last debacle and using that, she would draw a rope and bring it to life, looping it around the grip device while one end was pulled taunt and held by the bottom of her shoe. the hands would work together to make the rope as tight as it possibly could until the rope snapped in two
635 POUNDS
the robot yelled out, zenjia swelling up in pride. she looked upon the cement block, and then over to the gorilla, shivering. she didn't like the creature, but she had to admit that it was a good idea and she was going to go a similar route....
with one of her trusty rhinos. she would draw one with ease, and watch as it would come to life and ram into the massive cement block shattering it into a million different pieces. it was a breeze, and she had dusted off her hands as a loud CLEARED could be heard from the robot testing them. She pumped a fist into the air, this test going considerably better than the agility test that was given to them previously.... hopefully good enough to net her the silver or gold!
